True. But in the end I’m still better off here than anywhere else in the world (for now).

So I’ll limit my whining

Somebody dey vex o.
It will not tally.
It's a necessary evil needed to make dollar stronger.
Capital flight is the worst enemy of any administrator.
Presidents can do anything to stop that.
When companies move, people are laid off, it will still affect the economy negatively.

Mtn did that in Nigeria. Govt was warned and see.
When it has plunged Nigeria into abyss, the now know they have to squash the useless tariff.
We may never recover in the next 20yrs.

Exactly. They keep giving them breaks with little to no regulations to make it worthwhile for the average citizens. This should be about us, shouldn’t it?

They should have a job quota that they are required to provide with each million or billion they get. What do they pay their employees to keep them living a decent lifestyle (I’m not talking minimum wage). What are their maternity and paternity leave requirements? Sick leave? Etc
Corporations are requiring their workers to do more and more with less and less even with all the money they are getting from govt. Workers are paying these exorbitant taxes to keep jobs in the country and also breaking their backs to maximize profit for the corporations without adequate staffing to make the job easy on the workers or the incentives that should come from the extra money they are getting in tax breaks.

For example, I work in a hospital. There’s a giant corporation buying up a lot of the hospitals in the country. They are giving this company so much monopoly it sickens me.
I moved from the west coast last year and encountered a different (actually worse grin) system where I am now.

What would you know though, this company has bought its way all the way up from the west coast hospitals in its wake and is now here . They have bought the new hospital that I’m working at. Hello old friend! When one company holds that much power, it’s bound to be abused no questions asked

DexterousOne:
If they move out of the country

They should also sell their products out of the USA too

Or bring it and pay high fees.

The govt have been sucking up to yhrde grerfu corporations for decades that they have become spoilt and entitled

Give them incentives
But they have to pay their fair share of tax
Even tho it should not be excessive

You can also give them tax breaks on condition they expand investment and create even more jobs or do CSR (which btw the corporations are not doing)

We cannot continue to give them.breaks upon breaks, and breaking the middle class backs to cover up for the shortfall

This cromy capitalism greed must be destroyed kpata kpata kpata

Actually Obama brought us out of the recession and the economy was growing with jobs growing as well. The economy is still growing now and jobs have not declined (yet )

Trump didn’t need to have a tax reform. He just hates anything that has Obama’s name on it. he’s trying to undo all Obama did. They were great how they were.
Things aren’t bad now either except that my taxes went up and my refund went down.

There are rumors of increase in minimum wage this year. Let’s watch and see if that’s going to be a good thing.

sassysure:
That is what I'm saying na.
Mama Eliza has killed us grin

The remaining, council tax will collect.

About the capital flight i spoke from the economics point of view.
See what capital flight plunged Nigeria into?
If not for folks in diaspora, Zimbabwe would have been better.

Some USA companies relocated cos of tax. Some were on the verge of relocating b4 that drastic law was made.
At the end of the day even with the increase in middle class tax, they still pay collectively higher than what the middle class summed together pays.
So it's a necessary evil but will not tarry long.
USA went on recession and haven't recovered yet, somebody gat to bear the blunt somewhere.

That's what they want to replicate in Nigeria but Nigeria don't have any working system.

So the middleman in our case bears it all grin

We go survive las las

So....we reward greed. At the expense of the masses.

If they are giving tax breaks, then they should give it to everyone. But no. Because that money has to come from somewhere. Unfortunately it’s not coming from Mr $$$ who definitely doesn’t need a 6th island. Or another mountain in the alpines.

It’s coming from my breaking back so that they will keep jobs in the country. Yet somehow, before his tax reform, the economy was growing fast and unemployment rate was drastically reducing. Why did anything have to change for the worse at that time?

Was there any justification at that time for it except to reward his republican billionaire friends?
And still they go to China to manufacture. Despite the tax breaks.

Greed can not be satisfied no matter what you do. With the way unbridled capitalism is going, They will keep taking from the middle class until there’s no middle class left. Only the poor and the ultra rich. Then either they kill off the poor to keep them subdued or the poor will eat them for sustenance.

I won’t be alive then smiley
Beautyaddy:
Those tax breaks was given to help those companies avoid moving their Companies to Countries that have very low taxes. Most of those Companies laid-off workers when they needed to move out of the US. And as a result the availability for jobs was not as surplus it is now with the current tax break.
Travel › Re: Birth Tourism: US Block Visas For Pregnant Women Visiting To Give Birth by cococandy(f): 1:54am On Jan 24, 2020
Yet some other first world countries have been managing to do this without killing off its middle class. We can do better honestly.

Their intentions are shady anyways and it’s not primarily about fear of capital flight.

sassysure:
They said una external debt is too much so middle class has to be taxed more grin
If u tax the rich more, they will run away from una country and every country fears capital flight so its kind of woeing them to stay and continue to grow the economy and also for those that 're away to come back.

It will not continue indefinitely.
That money is needed to strengthen the dollar more.
The competition is becoming aggressive.
Una sorry.
Strong currency, na the citizens dey suffer.

Even though it's outrageous to u guys, it's not even up to 2 3rd of what mama Charlie and her children zap from us.

But that's the truth now.

How many jobs does the government provides huh

Even when the Democrats were in power it was the middle class that was still paying for the higher and lower earners.
Job that can still be provided without the huge tax breaks.
The middle class has always funded the lower and higher class. That’s a good reason to not make it worse than it already is. Very soon there will be no middle class left

Family › Re: I Am Sex Starved, My Marriage Is Falling Apart by cococandy(f): 1:45am On Jan 24, 2020

So my wife says that we should have sex in the room where I sleep after she puts the children to sleep.
So she’s not really denying you sex. You’re just here to complain. What happened to doing it in that room that you normally sleep in like she suggested and cuddle afterwards?

What do you know, that might turn out to be your sweet secret place and the kids won’t be allowed in there.
Just make it yours. Maybe move a few of your bedroom stuff there so that it give you the feel of your bedroom. It’s your house. You can move things around the way you want.

And then your room where your kids sleep in can be subtly converted into their room. That way it’s like sleeping with your wife in your bedroom and the kids are in their room.

It’s not a complicated issue.

But it’s like you’re more interested in listening to those who are suggesting that you start keeping a mistress or get a second wife. Hopefully you will be open to such suggestions for your wife when you’re not able to give your 100% sexually.

This is a classic conservative style politics. Conservatives somehow believe that trickle down economics create more jobs, however the billionaires just keep the money to themselves. If it's a business, the top executives just payout huge bonus to themselves and reward their shareholders with surplus dividends.
More money to buy more islands and private jets.
It’s never used for the masses they have enslaved. Yes we are enslaved grin
Travel › Re: Birth Tourism: US Block Visas For Pregnant Women Visiting To Give Birth by cococandy(f):
No of course we pay tax. We just paid more since his tax reforms and middle class tax refund reduced.

Only low/poverty line earners and millionaires are benefiting from his reform.
We also pay social security, Medicare and Medicaid (different from taxes) so that low income earners can have benefits. I don’t mind this. I believe in supporting those who can’t earn enough to support themselves.

But can you believe billionaires getting huuuge tax breaks to keep more billions in their account (because they provide jobs bla bla bla) while middle class earners are suffering for it?.

sassysure:
Una no dey pay tax?

Come mama Eliza place and see that u work for nothing.
More than half of your pay goes into the system. Infact, u work to maintain the welfare system practiced here.

The vast majority of Trump's supporters in Nigeria will never get the opportunity to study in the US or sponsor their wives to procreate there. The Nigerians who don't support his immigration policies are those with a chance or can actually move to the US via studies, business or for whatever reason. I support Republican-like capitalism but wish Trump loses the election because of his immigration policies.
I don’t support his republican capitalism. It’s only for the wealthy. I’m not wealthy. If your family makes over 6 figures but are not millionaires, you will most likely be the hardest hit by his system.
I couldn’t believe my eyes last year when I got my refund embarassed.
Paid enormous taxes last year and got almost nothing back. Thanks to his useless (to regular folks) tax reform.

His system only favors the billionaires and millionaires club. I’m sure the poor people who supported him got the surprise of their lives during last tax season but they are too headstrong to admit when they are wrong.

A very good move. I wonder why a foreigner delivering his foreign child in America should automatically give the children citizenship.
A good move to stop the birth tourism but not enough.
There should be legislation in America to rule that all children born in America have the citizenship of their parents countries. So the baby is American only if the parent was already an American citizen. That makes sense.

No. I didn’t hear him say he stole the peniis. That’s why I thought maybe it was cut short or something

what did the interpreter say?
he talked about the accused person’s name, where he was from and then he said the man came to buy coke. And he (the accused asked the other guy “what’s it?” And the guy said “it’s a peniis”

He joked about how the said guy should marry two wives or so because of his big peniis. But either the video was cut short or I’m tripping because I didn’t hear him say anything about the so called peniis missing.

What I don’t understand is what led to the conversation. Or if he was physically staring at the man peniis while talking about it. All the noise from the voices drowned out the true gist. At least for me.

Lots of noise making. Even the guy interpreting in Igbo didn’t say anything about a missing peniis.
