Family › Re: Am I A Bad Person? by cococandy(f): 2:30am On Jul 21, 2016 |
OP you're not a bad person. Don't let any judgmental person tell you otherwise. I'm sure you're asking this online because someone might have said something to you that makes you feel like it's bad to not want more kids. It's your life. If you want none at all, it's still your life. It doesn't make you bad.
What you want out of your life will never make you a bad person as long as you're not hurting anyone in doing or living that style. The only problem is if your husband isn't in agreement. Then both of you will have to work together to come to a common ground. One of you will have to concede to the other if you both don't agree on this issue.
You know what's best for you. Not some folks who've never met you. What people (who won't help you raise the kids or pay their fees) think shouldn't even bother you in the slightest bit. You don't need help. You're not mentally imbalanced.
You'd be a bad person if you go on to have more kids that you can't care for just to show some know-it-alls that there's nothing wrong with you. |

@bold, exactly. First of all the people who will be in charge of the money are those related to the people in power. Nepotism and tribalism is the order of the day. banmee: No one on that list can help Nigeria's case because of one very important reason; They are Nigerians. Nigerians don't have the mentality for progress, oneness, goals, and meeting objectives. Unless of course if it is corruption, they are all up for it. When the last recession hit America, they all agreed that they phucked up by being greedy, fat and lazy. They decided to do something about it so they could get out of the doldrums they were in. First thing was they injected 800 billion into the economy by bailing out banks. Think about it; if it were Nigeria, do you think that 800 billion dollars will reach it's intended destination? Everyone would be salivating on how they would "share the cake". Americans dug in deep, did what they were supposed to, and clawed their way out of it. It can't happen in Nigeria because people don't just understand that the responsibility for greatness rests with each and every one of them. But yet they are there blaming everyone including God. Some Americans took salary cuts, higher taxes etc, but they understood that it was for a goal. Nigerians are busy burning people on the streets, littering, bribing, etc, and thereby creating more chaos. The funny thing is, Nigerians want to be great, but don't want to do the things that make other countries great. I wonder how this makes sense to you all? Smh.

Hahaha. Sorry. banmee: Oh my God. Why? Which kain tin be dis na. When normal people are striving to improve the lives of their spouses, this guy is dehumanizing his wife. You for no show me dis tin. I swear. When i left Nigeria, I thought that what i would benefit from emigrating would be a financial and social upliftment. It took me a while to realize that the greatest benefit the opportunity afforded me was the mental reconditioning and restructuring. It was like being born again. No amount of money is worth that. Looking at Nigeria from the outside scares the crap 'outta me. I sometimes can't believe i was born there. I have sworn never to go back. Never. Why? The last time i was there, i thought i was going to be kidnapped. Almost everyone had this shifty look to them. Everyone wanted to be a "sharp guy". My brother told me not to say a word to anyone, else they know i was from yankee because of my accent. That it could be dangerous and or, they might want to take advantage of me. I thought he was exaggerating. Me wey dem born for Lagos. That was until i began to see some crazy shiit for myself and i quickly gentle. How can people live like this? I just can't fathom it. I just have three more people to pull out of there and i can finally wash my hands off that country.
P.s Last week, my wife's brother moved into the house he just built. Two days later, people came looking for him to kidnap him. They left a note telling him of their intention and that he needs to leave the house on a certain day, leave the gate open and put 5 million by the entrance. Can you imagine? They left a note. Now he's moved out to go rent an apartment. And meanwhile he has a house. So what's the point? 1 Like |

Besides that preacher woman's death had nothing to do with gender equality. It has everything to do with religious intolerance. So that was everybody's protest. Why didn't you guys do something?
The Dino/Remi case has everything to do with gender and how women are constantly sexually degraded in Nigeria. So yes the women are right to protest it. Stop comparing apples to oranges.
If the preacher's death really hurt you, you should have done something. Not try to use the opportunity to downgrade someone else's movement. You're actually the hypocrites here. |

I agree there should have been a protest for the life of that murdered woman. For justice to be served. Heck there's so much going on in Nigeria that deserves protesting against. But I'm in support of their protest against Dino. He's an example of what's wrong with Nigeria. If someone insults you, insult them back. Do not use it as an opportunity to bring out the rapey part of you and perpetuate the rape culture we already have going on. That's a big problem by itself. |

Would you like a woman to give you that kind of test? Xiadnat: Aw. What a sweet story. I commend the story really.
I don't know why this story is getting too much negative comment. I think I'm just way too innocent- cause I just really liked this guy's approach in seeking a partner. Jesus was tested and he was the son of God. We go thru tests all the time in life (spiritual tests, academic or vocational tests), why not a life partner?
Marriage is entered selflessly. You go in with the mindset to "serve" first and foremost. And, that's the "purest" form of love -
In reality though, I think we all should be putting our life partners to "test". Choosing a mate for life and of holy matrimony should not be threaded lightly. It is not what you call it that matters, it's your intention.
I cannot speak of this guys intention or motives, it is clear that he was doing his due deligience. It wasn't just about ass, boobs and external other features.
We can't pass judgement about what kind of husband this guy will be based on this story. He may have being in anguish the entire time she was sleeping on the floor or yelling at her or gave her insufficient money. We can't pass what kind of wife or woman she is or will be either. I hope she had her own "tests" for the guy too. I am sure she already knew anyway, and it was the guys' time to find out on his own "tests".
Anyway, two thumps up. Good story. I hope the couple are still going on strong and happy in their union. |

100 Prettiepearlz: Hmmmmn,in my opinion I think you only told the story of you and Toyin so that you wouldn't be blamed. It's your word against hers and this story is one sided but if your story is true, here is my opinion. For crying out loud, you had a choice and you chose something you felt you were comfortable with. She dumped you without prior notice for a guy she met in her working place and got pregnant for him and then she came back to you asking you to help her with an abortion(which IMO is very wrong), the innocent baby wasn't yours. I just hope you didn't "render your assistance " because you didn't specify if you did or not, so I wouldn't conclude. She told you about all her sexcapades and you had a choice to walk out of the relationship or stay and make it work but you chose the latter and I want to believe you weren't under any pressure and you weren't held at gun point to make a choice, so you told her you forgave her but you turned to having sex with prostitutes Is that your definition of forgiveness, I as a person, I hate cheating and I am not a fan of people who do, if you can't deal with something, you get out of it rather than putting up with something you can't deal with and living in pretence. She talked you into having a baby and you agreed, so you both decided to bring a child into your relationship, although I don't have kids but I feel having kids mutually isn't something you just think of overnight and then you carry it out, if two adults can sit down together and discuss about having a baby, you must be ready to be committed and responsible, so that means you should have stopped considering a date with someone else( corrections are welcomed if you feel I am wrong) and do everything within your best to make your union a success so that your baby can have a happy life with both parents. So now you have fallen in love with a Yankee babe and you have also put her in a family way too and now you want to marry both of them . In the same country or Toyin will be in Nigeria and the Yankee babe will be with you in the country ? Don't gamble with your life, a foreigner especially non Africans are not into polygamy and to my best knowledge I think it's an offence in some countries. You're the architect of your dilemma and not Toyin, you had a choice and you chose, so deal with it. I will not tell you to dump Toyin and I will not tell you to abandon your second baby mama, you just gotta be a man and be a responsible Father to your kids, a responsible husband to one of the ladies and a responsible baby daddy to the other lady . Choose wisely . |

This is horrible. My heart bleeds. That some people believe witches exist in this day and age is frustrating enough. But children being made to go through this is abominable. In fact any human being made to suffer for accusations of being a witch is an affront to humanity.
Is the government going to do anything about this? I'm surprised it's this bad. I mean I know that state is known for such practices but one man killing more than 100 people? How many have all of them put together killed? And he's walking free?
