Depends on how much accommodation is in the area he lives. If the new increment can cover it and give him a place with the same level of comfortable as he was in, then he should consider moving.

Earthquake? God forbid. If it happens, I pity the people that will be affected. Ruined roads will stay like that forever because no one will fix them immediately. Ruined houses will go down without the owners getting any help for survival afterwards.

Well done! As per the Jade plant, it's a succulent so it doesn't require much humidity. So put it in an open terrarium and don't water too much.

I should do a post on succulents o. We have Jade plant in Nigeria even.
thanks. smiley

Exactly why I chose it. They don't require a lot to stay alive.

I'll be making some more. This time I'll try to get more creative. Le boo likes them. And he's like "pls line all the windows with 5 each". shocked

I got the pebbles, shells, one glass pot and the white crushed rocks from the dollar store. A dollar per bag. Small bag. More like a satchel. But it was enough for two terraniums. I was pleasantly surprised. Now I'll be visiting there to get me some decorative stones as well. I never knew one could find useful stuff there.

But the plants I got from a different store. As for the other pot, I used an old storage glass jar. I just removed the lid and used nail polish to paint the screw part of the jar neck so it won't be obvious.. You can always improvise.

Next one I'll do I plan to include old marmalade jars and stuff like that.
stonecoldcafe:
Its absolutely lovely. You are lucky u hv d ease in assembling some of these stuff. Perhaps I don't know where to get simple stuff in lag but sometimes its so much drama for little stuff. Say like identical flower pots at a fair price. I didn't even know where to get them in d first place. I finally had to reach out to a family member who got me simple rubber pots from poundland. I got that little hanging basket too. I'll share some pics really soon.

If he gave his fellow man a BJ, I wouldn't give a hoot about it.
But he crossed the line by sucking a teenage boy. That's totally unacceptable.
Don't mind him.

I hope the boy's parents sue him for all he's worth and a lot more.

Agriculture › Re: The Hibiscus Flower Society: Calling All Gardeners, Flower Lovers Etc by cococandy(f):
So I finally got the terranium going.

A for effort but there's so much I could have done better.

use a different plant that doesn't need a lot of sunlight. I didn't read up much about this jade plant before I got it. It was the smallest succulent I could find in that store and I was tired of lugging baby girl around so I just bought it and left. Besides I was too excited to start already so I didn't want to postpone it any longer. Next time I'll use smaller plants so I can fit more into one bowl and make an actual ecosystem in there instead of a lonely plant all by itself. cheesy

Added seashells for aesthetics.

Crime › Re: Bricklayer Jailed For Stealing Two Packets Of Maggi by cococandy(f): 9:35pm On Jul 21, 2016
The sentence is fair. 3 months or 15k naira.
For breaking and entering, that's a slap on the wrist. The crime in itself (breaking and entering) is one that attracts jail-term.

add stealing to that and you'll see that the judge wasn't unnecessarily mean. And yes he stole a dvd worth valued at 10k too. This OP is trying to be sensational by putting only the maggi information in the topic. Mtchew.

Thanks to cococandy and you. wheeeeeew! I'm not sick.
onegai is right though. The fact that you're worried you won't do it well means that you're concerned enough to want to do it right even perfectly. Some people reproduce just for the heck of it. You know the "we are married and therefore have to reproduce mindset".

At one point in my adult life I didn't want kids. I was worried I may not be up to task of raising another human being. And even worse I was scared stiff about labor pains. Everything I'd heard about it was horrible. So I was seriously considering not having any.

But you need to see me now. My DH even teases me that one day I'll tell him where I kept my other kids because I can't be doing this well without previous experience. grin

If you're doing a good job of raising the one you have, you're perfectly alright. Who knows you maybe even change your mind about having another.

It's clear as day what's going on. To make matters worse, even the police units in Eastern Regions are headed by northerners. That's how they are able to get away with marginalizing SE people in their own lands. And some people still pretend that they can't see what's going on here.

If they caught him in the act, what other truth do they need to get out of him? Except they are torturing an innocent person in broad daylight into confessing to a crime he didn't commit. Police may be bad in other countries but ours is worse. But to make matters more horrible, no other military that I've read about practises the disgusting abuse of power that our military does.

If the guy is a criminal, why not let police do their job? Do these guys even know what their job description entails? Or they believe because they are in uniform that makes them law enforcement officers. Ridiculous illiterate folks.

Why I love you smiley
Onegai:
Awww.

You know what you really need? A Mommy-and-me group. Somewhere where a few mums and their kids get together and just hang out and let their kids play and also get them off their hands for a bit.

It's overwhelming having children. Emotionally and physically. Just this morning, Baby E walked into our balconey-garden, grabbed a sponge I use to clean dirt and started eating it happily. See me panicking about germs and toxicity and googling "baby ate garden soil", whilst shrieking. Then I told myself "I ate carpet grass (because my stvpid brothers threw me facedown in it) and I turned out okay". And calmed down.

It's good that you're worried you're not going to be a good mum. That shows you are, because you understand the enormity of the situation, rather than being glib about it.

Do you have someone who can watch your son for a bit? So you can at least sit down for one hour and have nothing to do with him. It helps. Feel free to dump him in your husband as well. Nothing bonds more than you and he doing a wailing competition about who hasn't slept because of the child. Seriously, Himself swiftly counters with "I didn't sleep well either" everytime I moan about lack of sleep. No matter if I swear I heard him snore that night smiley

Don't fret when mealtimes are a nightmare and bedtimes are war zones. You're learning valuable skills like Patience, Cunning and Intelligent Reasoning and Bargaining. All of which are excellent to use on adults grin

Children don't need money to be happy, they need your love and support. They don't need to go to fancy creches but will love spending time reading their storybook with you. And yes they will learn. There are so many resources online to help you give your child the best. So what if they don't learn how to swim at Ikoyi club, there's a pool at Alaka and it is still the same swimming they will learn there. You dig?

If you like, put up a flyer in your church and say you want to form a mummy and me group with 5 mums and you guys will meet up somewhere outside (Lagos is bereft of public spaces but there are some parks around. Where are you located?). So you guys can talk together and not feel so crazy and exhausted and no-one needs to cook and clean up after (that's why it's in public).

And you truly feel afterwards that you still don't want kids, get off NAIRALAND and tell your husband gently. You two will work it out. Okay?

You're going to be just fine!
