You and eph12 need to understand that this has nothing to do with mourinho if you are claiming that Keane is talking about what the management has become comfortable with.

Mourinho has just spent a year in the club and he won 3cups from the 5 he entered for. That's a good season as far as am concerned. Yes the league is the ultimate and he fell short.

Talking about the club being comfortable with its position is even false.

Fergie gave us Moyes, he messed up and was sacked, it showed the club was not comfortable with him.

Lvg came and brought a mechanical kind of play that we all cried about but somehow got us to play in the CL, we gave him a second chance and then failed to qualify us for the CL, we sacked him, shows we were not comfortable.

Mourinho has come and in his first season won 3cups including the EL CUP Which he found himself in that also got us the CL spot, he deserves a 2nd season IMHO.

So Keane saying the management is comfortable with our positions is total crap as far am concerned.

The reputation of the coach as per his success on the area of winning things also plays a part in how much time he can be given.

Moyes was sacked one time, gaal was given a 2nd chance as he deserved and mourinho also deserves a 2nd chance. This has nothing to do with whether we like mou or not.

Yes the league was the main thing considering we were not in the CL. But we were in the EL where uefa had said anyone who won it it had an automatic place in the cl which we didn't qualify on the log.

Chelsea had no European competition that would have put some strain on their players, hence they were fresh enough yo concentrate on the league and other domestic cups, while we were fighting for the EL cup we were still fighting for domestic cups and the league until it became rather impossible to qualify for the CL in the league.

we still won 3cups including an EL cup that got us the CL, While Chelsea won 1 cup albeit the one that really matters. That's the way things stand so we should stop downplaying what we won because there are those who won absolutely NOTHING.

I can't blame the ones with doubt here. Most of the heralded ones in the last few years like Di Maria, Depay, Falcao etc have been failures so it is only fair that people are very cautious in their optimism.
It is not only about the fame or stardom of the player, we just need quality players to fit into and improve the first team. A player like Bailly was a relative unknown but had a successful debut season
It is also appearing more n more likely that Griezmann is coming so we better get with the program. We will get 1 or 2 more attacking players and possibly 2 defenders ( e.g Keane and Rose) and I believe Fabinho as a versatile option.

I believe its it's kinda easier to get a rather unknown player for the midfirld and defence that would perform well like Bailly has done but for the attack, that player needs to have shown that he is capable of putting the ball in the net consistently even with half chances in his present club. This is also not even a guaranty like we saw with falcao recently. The only problem is that a known scorers' price will triple once we show interest, but we need to find someone who can score regularly.

So when people shoot down rumoured prospect I just get tired. Mbappe, too greedy, dembele inexperienced in the bpl, griezemann give -me - I - give - you, morata not good enough etc

I will just wait and see who mourinho will bring and hope he gets it right because other teams are also strengthening their squads.
