utuk:Exactly what I wanted to say. With this ambitious elements in APC who can't agree amongst themselves, what if David Mark shows interest at the last minute and all the PDP senators vote for him while the APC senators will be divided amongst Lawan, Saraki and Akume. |
Arsenal's draw tonight is why we ought to have beat them. |
Is Ameachi really an alarmist? |
Keky:Don't worry United will make you experience a full douse of the losing feeling this weekend. |
Thank God we won. But this is rubbish am not impressed at all. Blowing hot and cold with our form is not acceptable. |
I know palace have been a handful, but if we lose or draw this game I don't know who to blame, LVG, injuries or the players themselves. This is utter *self-service. |
So LVG can come to the touch line to give instructions. |
fashionale:You must be very naïve to think that GEJ is the problem and that once he leaves we will return to paradise. GEJ only made a bad situation worse by complicating issues in his govt when he allowed impunity. Gej never knew his left from his right and was never prepared for leadership. His govt going only brings a sense of relief to the nation that a spineless man who could not even control his wife is leaving our supposedly exalted office. If a state was receiving 2B monthly from allocation received from the sale of crude and the the price drops and reduces the allocation to that state the issue is then beyond GEJ or the fed govt because the revenue that is shared has reduced, every state's allocation is reduced. The question is when the going was good and when they were receiving their dues as at when due and regularly, how many of them thought of improving their IGR by whatever means necessary within the constitution that we operate. This brings me to the constitution. The present constitution and structure we operate makes it rather difficult for us to move forward as a nation. Am suure if we practiced true federalism most states will generate far more than the allocation they get from the FG every month, but our shortsightedness and greed of those in power will not let them see this. if we took stock of what each state can potentially generate if left alone, we will find out about only 4-5 states may not be able to survive and as a nation we can assist those states. They can't pay salaries, I laff in cantonese. Buhari will stabilise oil prices and it would be uhuru for all. |
Chai Naija. |
Am just thinking....... What if we lose our next match? |
nortcentrallord:All these are rumours sha, let's see what Buhari will do? As per the fiscal federalism that's the one pains me the most with GEJ. That's was the best time we could have achived FF. I personally don't want Nigeria to breakup, but FF will actually make us a bigger better country. The North will never agree to that simply because all the money being shared in abuja for all the states will be for the ND states after paying agreed tax to the center and that's a no no for the north. Imaging Kogi complaining about receiving 2.5B - 3.5B allocation per Month when they can have 10times more p/m if they exploited their human/capital/mineral resources. I also believe that if leaders of a region come together thay would be able to agree with each other quicker to make their region grow instead of this sick system we have now. Going to abuja with cap in hand for money you did not work for. |
nortcentrallord:I brought the two women up to emphasize how I felt GEJ was weak, at a point when things were kinda stale, when it seemed we were not moving forward or backwards, when Okonjo kept on reeling out positive indices to indicate the economy was improving but there was no impact GEJ would have tweaked things and try someone else. For crying out loud she was there with OBJ, she can't be the only one that could hold that post. APC has taken overe now, someone else would be appointed to that position whether the person performs, we will see. As for Diezani, she had this arrogant attitude that did not bud well with people, if she was achieving spectacular things in her position and was arrogant it would even make sense, but I can point to anything extraordinary she did that affected the people positively, infact everything she did seemed to have some negative effect. TAM for refineries, fuel subsidy, kerosene subsidy, Aluko deal etc the only thing she could stand on was that the PIB had not been passed and because of that the sleaze in that sector will continue. I just hope we get to find out that all she was accused of was propaganda, but I doubt. The problem with probing is that I don't know if there is anyone that would be probed as a minister today that we will not find dirt on. That is why an OBJ, Tinubu will be asking that their boys should get juicy ministerial slot, why? Are they the only ones that know who is best suited for the positions or they want returns in form of contracts as payback. The country is in a big mess. Buhari has his work cut out. He will contend with the elements in his party who see this as their time to flenjor and opposition. God help us. |
Here we go again!!! |
nortcentrallord:I agree you don't change petroleum and finance ministers like pants, it still doe not change the fact that GEJ was soft for a country like Nigeria. He showed it in many other aspects. Don't know how u assumed I don't like those women, far from the truth. Okonjo tried, but Dieziani did not exactly excel in her stewardship as petroleum minister. That's my opinion. The article was about the rumoured dropping of Fashola and Fayemi from Buhari's cabinet and you started talking about Okonjo and dieziani. |
Let's even assume this report is true, The problem with this situation is that if Amaechi, Rochas, Oshiomhole have their way by convincing Buhari to include Fashola and Fayemi on his ministerial list. If he decides to do a cabinet reshuffle say after one year who will stop him, or are they supposed to be ministers for life. We know GEJ was a soft man that's why the likes of Dieziani, Iweala were ministers for life, can the same be said about Buhari? Tinubu himself will get a surprise from Buhari, one that he would not be able to recover from if this story is true implying he is the one running things now. I think Buhari even respects Fashola and would want him in his cabinet. We are watching! |
Hope say OBJ no go vex. Na dis kain message OBJ dey like carry, make him no talk say Buhari don dey sideline am oo. |
3 loses in a row. Di Maria is just irresponsible with the ball. |
RuuDie:Fellaini is the best striker in the world. He will soon score with a bicycle kick. |
I never talk finish, we are down with a goal. LVG has gotten his tactics all wrong. Rooney, RvP, Herrera are all being withdrawn. Even if we eventually win this game, am not impressed at all. |
We have gone back to our pass pass pass pass with no incisive movement or pass. Its just annoying. We are not even putting them under any pressure. When WB scores now we will start seeing some urgency. |
UncleJudax:Thanks for the correction. I still insist that if we adopt TF/RC a state like Kogi will make far more tha 3.5B p/m with its human/capital/mineral resources when exploited by its people while paying tax to the center. |
Billyonaire:Its a shame that some of us and even Melaye think reducing their pay as legislators will solve anything. It will most likely solve nothing. Firstly how much is the salary? How much/% is the proposed cut? A state where people have been receiving 60% of their salaries means more agrieved people who are unhappy. The irony of this request is that Kogi receives 2.5B - 3.5B allocation from the sale of crude gotten from the ND, we assume when the 3.5B was being paid everyone got full salaries, but we also know that if we practiced true federalism/resource control a state like Kogi will definitely generate more than that 3.5M naira p/M considering the mineral/human resources in Kogi state. We just keep deceiving ourselves in this country and being smart by half which makes us continue going round and round. The North that is opposed to true federalism/resource control will even gain more from it but because it will seem that all the moneys being distributed from oil sales will be concentrated in the ND states if TF/RC is adopted they will never agree. Imaging Kogi being satisfied with 3.5B p/m allocation. SMH |
The present constitution and structure of this Nation makes it impossible to progress at the pace we ought to. |
Abeg make I rewatch ET (extra Terrestrial) for 111 Mstar. Anyone interested the movie just start. I can't watch this match again. Was angry with the lose at Chelsea, this one is just....... Mtcheeew. |
This 2nd half is not it at all. Chai, so we gonna lose 2matches in a row. Asit is sef, top 4 will be under threat now. |
We are playing well even now that we are 2goals down. The problem now is we would come at them with our all leave our back open to counters which they(Everton) seem to be up to in this game. |
I like the way we are hustling for the ball and being positive. My fear is make fellaini no go chop red card. He needs to calm down. |
PPAngel:My exact feeling too. Once Buhari is sworn in all bets are off. He must likely is willing to repair but will definitely may not be comfy with all this scheming jagaban is doing to plant his men in juicy places. Buhari needs absolute power to function the way he wants to function (whether that would be a good thing or bad thing is left to be seen) We are watching. |
waternopassgari:What moves exactly. Hope it is not all this talk and no actual action. I only talked about power moving to the north based on the fact that a GEJ in power would have been more conducive. I said that even though I know FG will have nothing to do with it. But there would be some sort of resistance, they won't sit and allow ss/se go like that. Having a person from ss would have wittled whatever resistance that would be expected now. GEJ also claimed he did not want Nigeria to break under his watch with his utterances during the centenary celebrations. For me I still want a ONE NIGERIA with all the elements of true federalism. Where the regions can still have mutually beneficial MOUs. Where the entity Nigeria still have access to the 170m people/Market. What I mean by this is if ajaokuta belongs to Kogi or middle belt and all car makers like Nissan, Toyota, mercedez, BMW decide to have their factories there, they would still have access freely to the Nigerian market. Niger state can have Kainji dam produce electricity and sell to other regions, etc |
Xetima:The question is: Who will call for the referendum? The govt? What will be the agenda for the referendum? Will SS/SE be voting to opt out of Nigeria while other states be voting that SS/SE must still be in Nigeria? Will it be done state by state I.e states that want to join the LNR or stay with Nigeria (this is assuming the SE/SS will want away from Nigeria. What's the first step in actually having this referendum. Have the ss/se agreed to be an entity, because if they both can't even agree to be together then failure beckons. GEJ as president should have achieved this by boxing the rest of Nigeria into a corner where the only way out would have been to renegotiate the structure of Nigeria in true federalism. But the fedora hat he wore and selfish tendencies and lack of forsight wanted to rule first term and then attempt whatever he wanted to do 2nd term, but its too late now. Clamouring for a referendum now when power from the center has gone to the very set of pple we accuse of being parasite is funny to say the least. It wud have been easier with a ss person as president. We got our chance and blew it. But the struggle continues. |
stronger:Not quite sure about this suggestion by the CBN govt. There would definite be positives and negatives in his suggestion. But my surprise is you saying "now that we have responsible and accountable govt" it is good to be positive but you are asking like this incoming govt has managed the country somewhere before to be ascribed that responsible/accountable toga. Let them enter first let's see how the manage the country/economy to know where we are heading. I don't trust politicians at all. I agree GEJ was a disaster. Imagine $75B in the hands of Nigerian politicians at once. Some of them will go gaga. |
