FreeStuffsNG: Dear OP, what are you producing to help bring in the forex or help reduce the outflow of the forex? That's the question we need to ask each of ourselves.
Asiwaju Tinubu will not use borrowed or hard earned money to defend the naira against the us dollar that unpatriotic people are speculating on to store inside their mattresses. If you join them to keep overvaluing the us dollars, you will get burnt las las. He is not producing propaganda. At least his ideas are workable like that of professors of political science around earning under the FG. |

The term "defending the Naira" was often used to mask the subsidy of the forex. That time you referenced about Naira going for around N700 a dollar, it was being subsidized at around N460 in official window and so there was an artificial pull of the black market rates towards the official market. If at N460 black market was around N780, at N780 official rate, I estimate around N1300-N1350 in black market.
As the rates rises in black market, prices of import will go up and discourage demand against constant supply. That should reduce the pressure on dollar generally. Also, as Dangote refinery begins to run, huge demand for dollar(forex) created by need to import will disappear. That should bring it back to below N1000/a dollar. |

Be like say Seun don dey guzzle fermented pap.
The reason for the loss of value is many naira chasing few dollar. We can either increase dollar supply or reduce dollar demand. Once Dangote refinery fires and local petrol reduces demand for dollar to import it fewer naira will be chasing relatively more dollar and this two-way or double-edged effect will strengthen the naira. The likes of Seun were the one swallowing and reproducing textbook jargons that don't fit to our own unique behavioural patterns. The major import substitution we are about to experience is Dangote refinery petrol, diesel and kerosene replacing imported ones. Any other lies are mere political propagandas. |

dominique: The kind of whiny cry babies we have as men today ehn! Tufia! Marry a poor girl, he'll come and whine that she and her family wants to kill him with billings. Oya marry a rich girl, he will come and whine that her family is taking over his responsibility and making him feel less than a man. What exactly do you men want?
Now oga op, you gave your wife 3k to cook food for yourself, herself and 2 kids as per magician wey she be. What kind of food is 3k supposed to cook? Should she starve because she's married to you when she knows she has a financially comfortable family that can bail her out? Would you have preferred if she had gone to her ex, or one toaster eyeing her on the streets for support? You should be happy you're married to a woman from a comfortable supportive family. what if they just using the OP to procreate before discarding him? Imagine in the event of quarrel, the in-laws decide to use their wealth to move the children to another country like has played out elsewhere before now. |

That's part of the plan to grow(or rather swell) the economy. Maintain lower forex rates then allow inflation ravage the country until 1USD goes for N2500. After that, calculate the size of the economy by computing Naira value of economy divided by lower I&E rates N770.
Tinubu is a genius indeed. He built Lagos and will do so for Nigeria. |
