jesmond3945: she has to make profit na to feed her family One of our hidden problem is overcrowding of trade, vocation and business. Instead of 100 people to do a business and share a market profit of say, N50m(500k each), 500 people are doing same business and taking home N100k profit. As a way of surviving, they inflate prices via trade unions. Things are bad but nowhere as bad as we make it look in this part of the world. In ancient times, if a trade became overcrowded, naturally some persons left and others expand the scope of that business or trade to meet up. Not in today's world. To sell onions in market, you must belong or be suffer isolation. |

Supremos: Omokri Expresses Reservation Over RCCG’s Adeboye Praying Only For Israelis’ Peace
Updated Thursday, October 12, 2023 Popular internet personality, Reno Omokri, has pointed out that "a greater percentage of Palestinians are Christians than the Israeli population".
Omokri's message comes amid a viral video made by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye In the video, Adeboye backed Israel in the ongoing conflict with Hamas, a Palestinian militant group which rules the Gaza Strip. Omokri doesn't agree with Pastor Adeboye on the Israel-Hamas war. Reacting to this post, Omokri, also a pastor, disagreed with Adeboye's standpoint. He wrote on his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle on Wednesday, October 11: “But, sir @PastorEAAdeboye, what about our brothers and sisters in Palestine? A greater percentage of Palestinians are Christians than the Israeli population. Half a million of them, to be precise. Doesn't the Bible, in Galatians 6:10, ask us to first show love to members of the household of faith before others? Perhaps they may feel abandoned that your message did not even mention them. “If I were a Palestinian and saw your message, I would sink into further despair. Acts 10:34 says God does not show partiality. But sir, are we not being partial when we pray for Israel and ignore Palestine? Perhaps it is an oversight. “Sir, I have been to Palestine. I will not wish their condition on my own enemy. They are God's children, too. Don't they deserve our love and prayers and every possible non-military support we can rouse to alleviate their tremendous human suffering?”

All the neighboring countries economy is very bad Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan (don't know) They are minding their business it seems. They are just waiting for that point where they can all come into the battle with the most devastating effect. Iran is heavily backing those terror cells for now but may creep in as the battle goes on. |

Following reports of unusual movements from eastern Syria to Damascus.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards transferred all their personnel from Deir E-Zor province to the west using Syrian military buses.
Those who remain in the district are fighters who are supposed to guard the military facilities, the weapons depots. One country and half a dozen direct enemies and even more indirect ones like Iran. Biblical proportion of drama unfolding. |

Imagine an agency of government established to help public tertiary institutions in infrastructure and modern teaching facilities would now extend the gesture to privately owned businesses/ institutions whose primary objective is to cripple public institutions. Private universities charge a lot of tuition fees, so TETFund should focus on rescuing government schools. govt schools get a lot from taxpayers generally. Let private schools in too. |

grandstar: The IMF did not make it worse in Sri Lanka.
Was it the IMF that encouraged Sri Lanka to start borrowing recklessly from China? Were they the ones that banned the importation of synthetic fertilizers forcing the farmers to go organic leading to a collapse in food production? Were they the ones they carried out a terrorist attack on a church, leading to a nosedive in tourist visitors? We're they responsible for further division to the tourist industry caused by the COVID pandemic?
Sri Lanka suffered from a litany of problems a mile long.
IMF made nothing worse in Ghana. The IMF always demands low budget deficits or balanced budgets. On the other hand, Ghana is notoriousfor large budget deficits which are inflationary and always leads to a depreciation of the Cedi. Ghana takes the blame for its budget deficit and not the IMF.
Simply hiking interest rates isn't enough to fill up the foreign reserves in the short term. The country desperately needs forex now.
A loan of between $20-30b is needed urgently and only thr IMF can provide it Government can pay it off once the foreign reserves reaches the desired level. Lol...20-30 billion usd. While IMF isn't the one with final say, that loan amount won't do more than anything 5 billion USD can do in mildly corrupt nations. |
