That's like taking a bag of corn at N25k from Kano to Onitsha to turn it into pap then allow Kano businessmen bring the finished products back to Kano at N40k a bag finished produce.
Wonderful economics.

In that process, Onitsha drivers were employed to take the product back and forth, Onitsha workers earned salary and Kano people paid for it while but were largely unemployed.

Rolings:
Some of you, out of hatred for the government have lost your sense of reasoning and behave so foolishly that one wonders if loss of election means loss of sanity.

The money was saved after subsidy removal.

The loan was taken before subsidy removal by the previous government.

You may argue that be could have returned that loan but that is if we don't need the loan....we sure do need it
There is another $800m loan asides the ones taken before petrol subsidy removal. That clearly makes no sense.
Before subsidy removal they said we were spending $500m a month on petrol subsidy, if the amount about to be taken as loan can be saved in 2 months indeed, why take the loan?

That's the first error, festinho.

The next error was coming out to declare N1trillion in savings as a result of petrol subsidy removal while still pursuing the loan.

Tinubonomics I guess or was money indeed printed as revealed to us by Seun?

Happy new month. Another $500m saving is sure this month.

By giving #70B and #35B to the national assembly and judiciary respectfully. By increasing your salary by 114%. By increasing guel price and dollar rate. Tinubu, I'm tempted to say that you are stupid!d.
as fraudulent as the subsidy of petrol was on paper, no arrests made so far. He is only granting IMF and World Bank their wishes upon the common man while having funds to buy the corrupt elites with. This man is bigger than Buhari.

We r not interested in ur "tales by moonlight".

I taught u were joking when u said u will hit ground running & continue from where Buhari stopped.
he never hit the ground running o, he ran the system aground and like Buhari will keep churning out stupid political maneuvers.
Politics › Re: I'm Combating Economic Flaws That Favoured Elites – Tinubu by CodeTemplar:
Yet not 1000 or even 1 arrest has been made when we all thought the subsidy scheme was fraudulent as claimed. Instead the leaders want salary increase and more furniture allowances from what's not enough to effect positives changes we so desire.
This old man is just being political and raising false hope to buy time. Like the disaster before him, he will keep this up and gladly watch things go bad with a view to doing his own eight years.

Thank you my brother for your response. It was educative and by someone who knows what he is talking.

I totally agree with you.

The economist, the late Henry Boyo and many others have argued that the dollar components of the monthly allocation to the 3 tiers of government be paid in dollars and not in Naira as it is presently. Whenever they are paid in Naira, this floods the system with excess cash. The CBN now uses pricey treasury bills to mop up the excess fat.

If they are paid in Dollars, they would now exchange this for the Naira and that would lead to the Naira appreciating incredibly. This will instead lead to tight money and may even turn deflationary. A very strong Naira won't benefit the government as 75% of government revenue is Dollars.

The CBN can now commence the reduction in interest rates (looser monetary policy). With time, inflation will fall below 10% and commercial lending rates as well. I do fully support that interest rates in real terms must be higher than inflation.

I
In Nigeria, CBN interest rate of of little impact. Their impact hardly trickle down to the masses. Stop regurgitating some jargons you read somewhere.

It is actually to early to tell. The economy is in trauma sequel to the ending of the fuel subsidy. Now, add the desired unification of the exchange rates and this surprisingly increased the pain as it seemed a few items were priced at the then very unrealistic official exchange rate.

It will take sometime for economy to adapt to the removal of the subsidy. It drag down growth for at least 2 years. Afterwards, the economic growth can begin the roar.

I think government should slash corporate taxes to 15% or less. This will encourage local and foreign investors to invest in the economy.

The 75bn to be given to 75 companies as loans to my opinion would have been better spent wooing investors by providing them with incentives to set up shop here. Many western companies are fleeing China and looking for countries to invest in. Many are going to Indonesia, Vietnam and especially India. Many could be wooed to come here.

I am sure many Chinese companies too can be wooed here but my worry is there worrisome labour practices. Perhaps, only reputable Chinese firms should be encouraged to set up shop here. The truth is at this point, the country can't be choosy.

12. What I can offer in the immediate is to reduce the burden our current economic situation has imposed on all of us, most especially on businesses, the working class and the most vulnerable among us
If this man cares about reducing economic burden, let agberos in Lagos be handled and allow good citizens breathe. Let bandits get same attention ESN is getting. Let all rent seeking thugs be crushed and allow people go about their businesses.

The scam commissioning of that refinery by Buhari is becoming more laughable as time goes on.
The lanky general only arranged for removal after he reached debt limit. He never planned for life after the removal. No refinery working, no alternative power source, no transport options cheaper, no healthcare improvement. All his effort was for Katsina.
