jesusjnr: Mammon worshipper, as usual defending his god passionately.
Which of the two have i corrected, the Holy Spirit or Paul, or are both the same to you lying hypocrite?
Who was being corrected in the following instance by Jesus? The Holy Spirit or Paul?
2 Corinthians 12:7-9 (KJV)
And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
So as you can clearly see I am not the only one that has corrected your own holy spirit, for he was being given a thorn in his holy "flesh" by the Lord to humble and correct him. So perhaps i'm not only one that you should be offended with for correcting your holy spirit in the flesh that died a long time ago.
My own Holy Spirit is still here on Earth, and has not left since He came after the departure of Jesus the Word of God from the Earth. OP I implore you to go through his thread history and see for yourself. https://www.nairaland.com/4808209/many-mistakes-apostle-pauls-teachings#72390772CC: HoluwaLoniGlory |

When Kemi Adeosun first resumed as finance minister, one of her first initiative if not the first, was the idea of an efficiency unit. The unit was targeted at eliminating practices like these from our system at many levels. It was suppose to a unit that buys in bulk and of quality, recurring items in the MDAs and other government institutions centrally to help eliminate wastages. I can imagine those N2m TV being bought for 80k if the efficient unit idea was well followed. |

factual truth Have you ever heard of the law of excluded middle? Google it and see how it applies here.
Tithing has it own identity The bible has it own identity totally excluded and different from the tithing.
Don't make that mistake to assume that tithing is the whole bible itself, it does not follow. You inserted what I haven't said into my comment and still further changed its interpretation from its simple meaning before going on to reply to it. If you are serious, back up your own arguments with relevant scriptures and stop replying to figments of your own imagination. NB: If you want to debate about the identity of the bible itself you can open another thread for it. |

But that encouragement should not be mistaken that tithing is also for Christians If I follow that ur interpretation then no part of the bible is for non-Jews. |

obailala: There's been several stories like this of Nigerians jumping off high rise buildings in Malysia, Indonesia and some other suspicious countries but this makes absolutely no sense and I wonder why no one else smells a rat in all these bizarre stories.
Even illegal Nigerian migrants in decent places like the UK, US etc are never this desperate to evade immigration police. How can a sane human jump off a 30 storey building all because he wants to remain in a shithole country like Indonesia or Malaysia? Even if he were with drugs and was running away from drug enforcement, not even the fear of a death sentence would make any sane human to willingly jump 30 storeys.
My theory is simple, all these guys are kicked off those buildings by murderous xenophobic policemen. Thank God this one survived, maybe he will be able to tell us the story of what truly happened; but that's if the police dont come around to finish him off. Drug dealing attracts death sentence there so no need for all those theories. |

Your life is improved and yet God has used me to improve people's life here in the short while I've been here more than you have despite being here for a long while?
Of course what do you know about helping people but yourself as your menthor has taught you?
People are my bank because I'm not here for myself but to help others.
BTW frankly you're one of the most spiritually shallow persons I have ever encountered here in Nairaland, for I have seen some of your threads and wondered how spiritually shallow can one get in this respect? But it's not surprising knowing who your menthor is speaking of being spiritually bankrupt.

For in spite of those hand-outs, people are obviously not Oyedepo's bank because he's "dangerously" accumulating riches unto himself(buying private Jets) as the mammon-worshipping Pharisees, instead of distributing it unto the poor as the apostles, the leaders of the church had done at the time in accordance with Jesus sayings.
But the people are truly the bank of few church leaders as T.B Joshua and Chibuzor Chinyere etc., even as they were of Jesus and His disciples, for that's why they don't have private jets, for the money to buy such has been channeled into people's lives. I gave you that link of davidoyedepofoundation to help you avoid talking trash like the bold. There is a big difference between wealth and riches. Health is wealth. but health isn't riches. [s] TB Joshua is now my menthor, because I appreciate it whenever a church leader heeds the commandment of Jesus and helps the poor and distribute wealth unto them, instead of accumulating it as the Mammon-worshipping modern-day Pharisees who have turned the house of God into a den of thieves, who instead of helping the poor as Jesus had commanded would be mocking them and boasting that they are dangerously rich.
Maybe Chibuzor Chinyere of OPM is also my menthor even though that's just about the only thing I love about him, as I did the same because of what he was doing.
https://www.nairaland.com/5142434/opm-opens-free-specialist-hospital
What TB Joshua did as Chibuzor Chinyere of OPM despite having to speak about such, is not sounding a trumpet while giving peanuts to the poor in comparison to the riches one has, just as the Pharisees used to and you are doing concerning Oyedepo's riches, but it is sacrificial giving just as the instance of Zachaeus who declared his giving of half of his possessions to the poor. For despite that he had said it in public Jesus approved of it because it was sacrificial and well intended, and also necessary for others to do likewise.
Not your fellow mammon worshipper that would be saying I'm dangerously rich with the riches that he is supposed to help the poor with.
That's characteristic of the mammon worshipping Pharisees unto whom Jesus said "woe unto you" because they devoured widows houses, but emphasized payment of tithes.
Matthew 23:14 (KJV)
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.
Matthew 23:23 (KJV)
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
Go and worship mammon no more![/s] Trash! |

UceeGod: Matthew 23:23 statement was made under the Old Covenant. Tithing was of course mandatory then; but in the New Testament, the Principle at the root of tithing is what we follow through the leading of the Holy Spirit - the principle of supporting God’s purpose with our financial resources which must be proportional, cheerfully made and planned as the Spirit leads you. You quoted Zechariah 1:17 out of context. The Lord was talking about Old Testament Jerusalem which was in ruins NOT about His New Testament church spreading through prosperity. The true Church of Christ comprising His genuine followers often spreads through persecutions and righteousness NOT material prosperity. Moreover, God is not against His people being prosperous as long as prosperity agenda and gospel doesn't take the place of His Kingdom agenda - freedom from Sin and satanic dominion + eternal life. According to your first paragraph, maybe the whole of Jesus teachings was under old covenant also and therefore null. In Acts the church spread through both persecution and prosperity. As many that had landed properties sold them for the sake of the gospel. Stop the lies. Even Jesus said He came to fulfil the laws and not abolish them. |

I'm sure the mammon worshippers even the Pharisees who derided Jesus for speaking against their covetous ways, would have had much more than such a foundation to deceive the gullible that they were not worshippers of mammon.
Woe unto the blind guides hypocrites (mammon worshippers) - Jesus
Matthew 6:2 (KJV)
Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. You just proved you are an hypocrite of highest order. why didn't you talk about not sounding a trumpet when TB Joshua was broadcasting and announcing his? You even sample his quote here. But for Oyedepo own that's a foundation and must have a public portal to reach its targeted audience of Africans you are here quoting the words of Jesus. That scripture is apt for your mentor and not Oyedepo who has never mentioned his. it is your TB Joshua that sounds a trumpet as the hypocrite do in the synagogue(Synagogue Church of all Nations) and in the street. UceeGod: No where in the Bible did Christ ask His desciples to preach about material prosperity. No where did Christ tell His desciples to organise church and mandate people to pay tithes. The only gospel Christ commisioned His desciples to preach is about His Kingdom - Matthew 4:23, 9:35, Mark 16:15, Luke 9:6 The gospel of the Kingdom of God is about freedom from the dominion of Sin, peace in this troublesome world and Life in eternity. The gospel is often accompanied by signs of healing anf deliverance from demonic possession. The gospel of Christ's Kingdom never promises material wealth but God blesses anyone He deems fit according to His purpose, even unbelievers. Success and prosperity in God's Kingdom is not ideally the same with that of the world. Unfortunately, prosperity and success is now seen in "churches" today just the way the world sees them. Prosperity in Christ's descipleship are the spiritual blessings that come with a heart and soul devoted entirely to Christ - giving the best of what you are and what you have to God's purpose regardless of the obstacles, which also includes your money (not necessarily 10%). Stop replying to delusions man. Jesus endorsed tithe in that Mathew 23:23 Zach 1:17 is from the LORD also. and It talks about the church being prosperous. Challenge the point with fact and not ignorance. Plus I never claimed Jesus asked his disciples to preach tithes or prosperity. |

Fresh wine wasn't alcoholic, but fermented wine was.

Its wrong for Christians to take alcoholic beverages. I missed this post for long. Some "Christians" are quick to give carnal interpretation for self justification but same folks will never allow the dead bury their dead literally or cast their bread upon the water in a bid to find it after many days as literally commanded by bible. |
