Yeah...sadly d truth SmartPolician: If any ethnic group successfully leaves Nigeria, that will mark the end of the country. The only people who benefit mostly from Nigeria are the core North and South West (chiefly Lagos State). South South are the biggest losers and are always intimidated because they are the minority. |

TimeTraveller: I support this 100%. I personally want Biafra to be declared so that we can all rest. There's NOTHING the SE brings to the table other than victimhood.
The only condition is that SE indigenes would have to move back to their home states. You can turn Biafra to heaven on earth, nothing will take me there. I will quietly eat amala and enjoy the sights of my rustic brown roofs.

The burden on the masses was the reason it was sustained... There was a time oir refineries were working fully .but subsidies was what killed it in order to satisfy the greed of the masses...the reason why goodluck plans failed was because he had to plans for local substitution... He just wanted the product to be imported and be sold for what ever damn price it worth..imagine if he succeed when during his tenure when a dollar was around N150...what do think the price of petrol will be like with an Exchange rate of N414 ...buhari at least realised that for this subsidies to end ..importing the product with scarce dollar must end as well... This is why he supported dangote through CBN for exclusive forex supply to bring In all the equipment to bring his refinery to live..at least once bubu removes end subsidies...the business on the petroleum industry will be done in nairas not scarce dollars emmnprince: When Good luck towed this path in 2014 or so, national outcry that led to national strike and the present president condemned it. Now, a need to do the needful is now clear in their eyes.
I'm still amazed how a nation so endowed with this natural resource still refine over 80% of her crude oil outside her shores and subsidize it to marketers who brings it in to be sold to the end users. This shouldn't have happened in the first place. The reason is not far-fetched though! Shows all those before the present leader who led this nation have no concrete plan and vision for this country. They only ascend the throne to play politics & amass wealth that is to be used to service this nation.
We'll, never too late to do the needful. But we shouldn't be surprised when there's surge in petroleum products, prices of commodities and services, and the much of the burden on the masses. |

There is no shame...what plan b are u looking for?...dangote refinery will cater for the whole country U want the same old refineries DAT were I'm government hands to be resurrected and still be government hands to eventually fail again because of the greed of Nigerians... It best everything is left in private individuals Harnny: They are targeting the refinery completion...no plan b. What a shame |

I have been using AutoCAD 2020, AutoCAD electrical, solidworks, revit and Proteus..all cracked ,activatedvand for free... Even top construction companies in Nigeria like have their employees using the cracked version.. Do ur research about the cost of the original license and copy of each software and see if the average Nigerian engineer can afford it Sheriman: You're buying pirated copy of the software. Can't even work cos you need a code to activate it before using it. You can only get the code if you buy it from the Autodesk Maya website |

The multinational oil companies only focus on the upstream sector u cannot force them to develop the downstream sector.. Secondly they will rather pack their company and leave the country than to invest in a sector where government pay subsidiaries and they can not have freedom to fix their own profit. No state government has shown that will to build a refinery.. So don't complain about Fg not support... CBN, NNPC and FG has supported dangote for that refinery to see the light of the day samwillyco1: The simple truth is that we have bad and incompetent leaders in almost all the Government parasatals, why not make a good and simple law and save NIGERIA from fuel importation. For example mandate all these multi-national oil companies to build refineries here in NIGERIA or leave the countries oil business, secondly support some states to build refineries/privatize Government owned refineries and see the issue of fuel importation to go extinct with a year or more |

Which latest innovation...be hallucinating... Can Nigerians afford brand new petrol cars not to talk of 3rd hand electric cars.... We are still much dependent on petrol ..the same as Africa....so the innovation needed to be self reliant is to build a refinery... Anything u do short of that is beating around the Bush whitenoiseng: its very insufficient and secondly Dangote as a business is out to make profit , giving the company monopoly to a national natural resource is absurd and questionable. Besides can't we explore other resources ? and also try to at least catch up with latest innovations and grow with them |

Don't be daft...petrol isn't the only product from crude.. Electricity can be generated...in short.. Listen to me ..over 50% of what u own has it raw materials from crude oil..from plastics to ur cheap nylon clothes even the fertilizer for the food you eat... Don't limit ur scope to Petro alone...what about aviation fuel ,diesel ,tar... Heavance: Everyone should bookmark this, they keep shifting the goal post. The same refinery that was used as a campaign strategy, with claims that it would be functioning by 2019, here we are still shifting the goal post. When the world would have left us for electric cars, just imagine what these old rigid people are still thinking, we have really been left behind. Even Dangote has been left behind |

Oga u want Nigeria refinery to work but still don't want to buy fuel at the actual rate.. Subsidies killed the refinery not government... All these the refinery has never made shishi in profit to sustain itself because of the greed of Nigerians to buy fuel on a rate much lower than the actual rate.. and the government continued to subsidize until the refineries died... Dangote is the only hope now.. FYI many license have been given to other people to build refineries..what did they do... Abeg leave dangote and his monopoly.... Without dangote.. u know much we will spend on cement importation... Did dey tie any companies hands not to invest in any business dangote is into... What about shell ,chevron..ask ur self... Why did dey build refineries with all the trillions they raked out of Nigeria.. This is to tell you that it is only patriotic Nigerians that can truly develop and invest in it..peace izzy4shizzy: Nigeria is the most backward country I have ever seen.
First, you own Refineries that don't refine a single drop of oil yet you spend millions to maintain.
Now you want to monopolize oil to one man because of your incompetence and you brag about it saving you import Fx,
They should just kukuma sell Nigeria to Dangote.
Modified
