They will visit Delta State when your people stop blowing up oilwells, stop embracing impunity and corrupt people like James Ibori and when your people have common sense and the right moral values.

400 to 1 is simply 1 step forward, 10 steps backwards.

52% of raw materials used by manufacturers are imported. So it will shoot up their cost snd many of these inputs have no local substitutes.

Also world class machinery which will make the manufacturers very competitive has to be imported.

Imports any way has never been the country' s problem. The primary problem iss that Nigeria does not export
My dear friend the govt has thought this through and i can tell you a genuine manufacturer that intends to import machineries for manufacturing will get FX at the official rate of 197naira to a dollar through LC's, i am saying this as a professional trader that does international trades day in day out in a commercial bank.
The only set of people the govt has pushed to the black markets are people like you that erodes our economy without any production capacity making us imports toothpicks, soaps, plastics e.t.c and i support the govt fully on this.
Nigeria need to take this tough decision , you said importation has never been the issue and you got likes, stop misinforming the public because of your pain to get cheap FX because over-importation is actually bad for any economy and it's the very big issue here in Nigeria because this is what has put so much pressure on our foreign reserves and it's making the exchange rate to sky rocket.
We need to stop this importation madness ASAP and export more finished products other than crude oil.

Tkester2:
Nonsense!!!
**** if you had any sense of defense strategy you would have known that comparing BH with ND militancy is miles apart. Boko haram is fighting in the desert, the militants are fighting in the creeks, and they always use their terrain to their advantage, check ur history, even the British that conquered the north and west couldn't conquer them and had to trick jaja of opobo into exile. I don't think u have ever visited the creeks
U are wrong sir. I vehemently disagree with your post that it's easier to deal with BH than these militants .
I have been to the creeks in bayelsa and rivers and one thing I can proudly tell u is that these boys come out and u ll see them in the best hotels in these places because they love life, they drink to stupor and carry the best babes in town thus it's easy to fish them put, need I also remind u that they are not united and they don't believe in the same course .
While some camps are fighting for more oil others are amnesty while d others are fighting for wot will just give them more money thus they are divided and can even sell themselves out if need be. if the Nigerian security forces hv good intelligence it can just exploit this loophole (in the US way) to fish them all out by aligning with one group fund the group and give them arms and oil , I tell u our army will not even need to fight the war.
Back to the topic BH is ready to bomb themselves and die for the course they believe in while a ND militant want to chop life because he has seen life so they are Mike apart, the guerilla warfare us the hardest to tackle in d world particularly for a man that is ready to kill himself in the process so stop comparing BH to militants cos militants are far more easier to catch and deal with.
InvestmentRe: Court Bars FG From Freezing MTN Bank Accounts by coleon(m): 9:21pm On Jan 12, 2016
I think this mtn lawyers must hv seen a very big hole in our laws that they wanna exploit otherwise I can't fathom this effontery against the govt.
From the onset mtn never denied that they erred but they merely approach d govt for to temper justice with mercy which d govt did by reducing the fine ,but by going to court nw to avoid paying is tantamount to insolence which no sane govt should condone.
I will recommend a speedy trial of this case to teach other would be mtn a lesson.
I also strongly concur with d AGF that mtn want to repatriate their funds to avoid paying, this is because mtn investment in Nigeria is very liquid. U wnt beleive that even their head office in Falomo ikoyi is a leased apartment talk less of all the masts they use which is owned nd serviced by IHS.
So what do u think the govt will hold on to when mtn repatriates all their liquid funds in banks.
For those of u supporting MTN I pity ur unborn children.

FamilyRe: 10 Pains Of The Nigerian Bachelor by coleon(m): 9:33am On Jan 05, 2016
Rapmoney:
Being a bachelor in our society can sometimes come with certain pains and deprivations! grin. Well, it is all good sha! Some things are better to be experienced than for you to be told cool If you still think only ladies share from it, you are on a long thing!

1) When you go to the market to buy foodstuffs, the traders notice you easily as a bachelor and some would want to use that as an opportunity to make abnormal profits off you, especially, when you don't have a regular customer you buy from! If na for me, market fall press them because I sabi price well well o! I fit price your 500Naira fish for 150Naira!!! grin. Na joke I dey o!

2) You close from work after a hard day's job, feeling tired and weak but you still have to prepare what to eat...unless you want to settle for junk foods such as Akara and bread or bread and fanta (Truckman's sandwich) grin

3) You open your facebook page and it seems everyone you knew out there back in school is getting married! You just feel like uploading your marriage pics too! cheesy

4) You are having a swell time in the office and a naughty colleague of yours throws in a joke of you being a 'Manchelor' without realizing the mental effect of it. What do you do? huh You laugh it off...apply humour! cheesy

5) Family people are sharing things and they give you a small portion...before you make an attempt to complain, someone stands up to remind you that you are not married yet, that those that got bigger portions are family men.

6) You hardly tell your landlord that you don't have money for utility bills yet; he is bound to ask you: 'You dor marry?' 'Do you have kids you feed?' 'Wetin you dey use money dey do?' See me see problem o! So I don't have personal expenses because I am not married? huh

7) They inaugurate a committee in your company and they give the key roles to the married folks who are less competent than you! Why? huh The management think they are more responsible cheesy Error!!!

8. When you are very free and open, neighbours, especially, the female ones, take advantage. They enter your crib at random, open your freezer and help themselves with beverages and foods! Who go challenge dem? huh

9) Sometimes when you do business with married folks, they want to take advantage of it as they feel they need more money than you since they have mouths to feed. Ogbeni, stop it! Na me give your wife belle to born children? huh grin

10) Friends keep pointing out girls they know that can make good wives. When some see you chilling with a babe, they secretly tell you, 'Dis one fit you o! Marry am na'!!! Without even knowing who she is. So e mean say me no get eyes and mind of my own again? huh

2016...Lips sealed!!! lipsrsealed cool
You are so on point the things i go through in this life simply because of my marital status is really disgusting, particularly the nos 7 and 9 .
It happens to me all the time.
CareerRe: Is Working For Access Bank That Bad? by coleon(m): 9:50am On Jan 04, 2016
Craven:
I've seen many people comment with "Start your own business." And I feel those people need to understand that while entrepreneurship is great, not everyone will be an entrepreneur. If everyone is selling, who will purchase?

But that is besides the point. The point is this; we don't share the same dreams. While you wish to start your own 'small business', some people want to thrive in the financial services sector, in the oil and gas industry, in agriculture, in information technology. And because they wish to work in these sectors does not in any way make them inferior to you who feel starting a small business is best.

Besides, people will urge you to start your own business, they will never tell you the cons of the process. Nigeria doesn't provide a healthy economy for businesses to thrive, with its very angry tax system and fluctuating price system, amongst many other factors. Although some businesses thrives despite this, there are many that do not, and that is the reality that people won't tell you when they're urging you to 'start your own business'.

And there is also this notion that starting your own business automatically means that you are working for yourself and not for anyone else. That's a blatant lie. The purpose of any business, asides making profit, is to serve your customers who bring you your revenue. So the same service bankers give their customers, is the same any entrepreneur gives their customers. Except if you are your own customer. Although the entrepreneur enjoys certain perks like flexibility with working hours, being her/his own boss and all, the underlying factor is that s/he still serves customers.

I admire entrepreneurs. I also admire people who work hard to achieve their career goals. I do not believe one is better than the other. I believe we all have different life goals, and different means of achieving them.

Starting your business is legit. Working in a company is also legit. End of story.
While your point is noted and that it is not everybody that can be an entrepreneur, the end of your epistle is very wrong when you said one is not better than the other. Being an entrepreneur is miles better than working for some dumb organisation or whatever you call it and this can never be overemphasized .
In fact i am appalled by the level of your reasoning because entrepreneurship is beneficial to both the individual and the society at large.
1.An entrepreneur generates wealth and create employment to the larger society while people that sit down in offices like you drains the wealth in the society.
2. Entrepreneurship does not give you boundary cos you can grow as high as you want while your life is structured as a worker somewhere.
3.You can never be rich working for an organisation and that is the fact and reality of life because nobody will pay you to be rich, all you can earn is a living wage to get by in life but in entrepreneurship you can ask the adenuga's ,dangote, otedola e.t.c.
4.Job security is guaranteed as an entrepreneur in as much as you know your business but in a bank or elsewhere you can be fired at anytime through restructuring ,rightsizing and e.t.c.
5.You can't be bossed around as an enterprenuer unlike in your workplace where you wake up saying yes sir every morning and you even carry your madam's bag in the evening.
6.Being an enterpreneur does not make you lazy and you challenge your brain all the time for ideas and you take calculated risks unlike what you have in your corporate work place (particularly in banks) where your life is structured and scheduled and there is a limit to what ideas and innovations you can bring on board thereby making your brains redundant.

Kindly note that i presently work in a bank and i see these things happening everyday and trust me i feel like i am being caged and i can't wait to unleash myself so i can leave it for people like you.
Trust me being an entrepreneur is miles better but the sad reality is not everyone can be an entrepreneur so you can keep your job till the day you will be fired which will surely happen one day whether you like it or not cos you don't own where you work.
Please don't mislead would be entrepreneurs with quotes like this.

I will rather settle down in a mansion that is less expensive in Ibadan, delta or Calabar where there is no crazy traffic, few people, low standard of living and fresh air.

Exit the main gate of Banana Island and you will experience crazy Lagos life.
No disrespect sis but I am sorry that with this ur mentality u ll never be rich.
Have u ever wondered y a business man will leave offices he could hv rented in agege or abulegba for 200k and will rent d same office for 2m per annum in Victoria island, it's cos he needs to connect to make more money.
In ur local language it's called connection but in business it's called economies of scale, so u can relate if u re business inclined .Did u think d likes of adenuga and dangote dnt have mansions in ijebu or kano? They do but they must connect thus they need to hv mansion in banana island to connect and prove a point thus it's a perogative.
What a rich man sees from far the poor will always think it's stupid thus the poor remains poor and the rich gets richer.
A change in mentality is what u need and so it's not waste of money but a business strategy, u shld also pray that u get there so u too can mingle and connect with the billionaires.

FORWARDED AS RECEIVED:

An informal Census was conducted by an Igbo Organization. The Group discovered that there are Twenty Million Igbos living in Northern Nigeria, out of which Sixteen Million are permanently resident and Four Million are Economic Migrants moving on seasonal basis.

In addition, they found out that there are Four Million Northerners living in Igbo Land, out of which Two Million are permanent residents and the remaining Two Million are Economic Migrants switching on seasonal basis. What is intriguing was that the entire Four Million Northerners living in Igbo land are uneducated menial laborers and petty traders viz watchmen, Cattle attendants in abattoirs, Cobblers etc.

Consternatingly, there was a single account of a Tiv Man, a Christian, from Benue who built a Petrol Station along Enugu bye-pass in Enugu State, however, on the day of commissioning the indigenes discovered that the Station belonged to a Northerner and insisted vehemently by interdicting its operations , that the said Station must be sold to an Igbo Indigene before it would be allowed to operate.

Today, throughout Nigeria, it is only in Igbo Land that no other Nigerian is allowed to gain admission into their Universities, Employment or Political appointments in their domains. Yet, in the North and the South West there are States that have appointed Igbos as Commissioners and Advisers eg Lagos, Kano, Yobe, Borno etc.

As big as the Onitsha International Market is, no other tribe is allowed from Yoruba land or the North to have even a corner shop, yet they are in all Markets across the North and South West without any hinderance.

Anyim Pius Anyim, is the only SGF in Nigerian History that has 100% Igbos as support Staff in his Office. Is he an SGF for Nigeria or Biafra?
Igbos should learn to tolerate others!!! And shut their bloody mouth, I vote they should get their Biafran country and leave our markets, Lands and all for us "the almajiris" we are damn tired of their imaturity and lack of respect for their leaders, elders and betters

Building a rail line inside a densely populated city like Lagos is not beans. It would actually be cheaper to build a rail line from Lagos to Ibadan than to build same line 'inside' Lagos.
U re a very intelligent fellow and wit people lyk u on Nairaland a lot of illiterates that pride themselves as graduates on Nairaland will get more educated.
It is actually more expensive to build a rail line frm ikorodu to lekki than to do same from lagos to ilorin.
The reason is simple and even an illiterate should be able to reason this out: A rail line built within a city would be constructed on air over so many pillars and overhead bridges while the one inter state to ilorin will just have a smooth ride on a path in the bush.
Hw anyone cannot think this through baffles me.
PoliticsRe: Why It Is Illogical To Claim That 'PDP' Destroyed Nigeria For Sixteen Years by coleon(m): 11:07pm On Nov 02, 2015
My dear Tony, no need to kill yourself just try and be focused.
That PDP ruined Nigeria is just a cliché to get political votes the same actors are now in APC and that is true but what u need to note is that politics and political moves are based on interests and u shld knw better.
If I join the PDP today is cos I've seen the trend and I knw this is where my brightest chance lies.
U see majority of d senators and house of reps members u see today are not even known in their wards but they are there because they rode on a platform that presented PMB as presidents and since d election was held same day it was easier for people to tow along.
As someone has said earlier once d head is presumed good others ll just hv to tow along.
If u put d same deizani in PMB administration as minister u ll be surprised she may not steal a kobo so when people say PDP and APC it's not about the constituents but it's about the head.
So I hope u nw hv a clear understanding of this issue.
FYI; Obasanjo is not a member of the APC but he merely denounced his membership of PDP and he's nw a non partisan statesman.

CrimeRe: My Experience With "One Chance". Share Yours by coleon(m): 3:57pm On Aug 22, 2015
LamLam15:
My experience in the hands of the dreaded men of the highway popularly known as “one chance” is not one to be forgotten so soon.
It is important for us to share our experiences so others can learn from them and see caution in other for them not to fall prey of one.

My experience goes thus:

It was on a Tuesday evening on my way back from work around 10:30pm. I had stopped over at a friend’s place that normally helps me in buying meat from his customers around Onipan; they sell good ones at very reasonable prices. I quickly rushed down to his house, picked up the meat, pay him for it and head straight back to Onipan bus-stop to board a bus going towards Ketu-Ojota as I stay around Ogudu.

On getting to Onipan bus-stop, in front of the police station beside Forte Oil filling station, I met about five other guys waiting to board a bus as well and the entire highway looks deserted with few vehicles going to and fro. As at that time, whatsapp messages kept on coming in from my wife saying it was too late for me to be outside at that time since I didn’t go out in my car. The chat went on and on….the only thing on my mind was to see a bus very fast going towards my route so I can go home to my family.

After a short while of waiting, here comes a neat well painted (Lagos Commercial bus colored) Volks-Wagen bus with a usual aggressive “conductor” shouting “ketu-Ojota-Mile 12….. N100 ketu-ojota”!! Only two of us ran to the bus with the rest still waiting at the bus-stop. I never sensed foul play as my mind was only fixed with one thing; home. After shouting for a while calling passengers, the driver moved to the next bus-stop called “Aladiye” still at Onipan. A very close friend was standing there busy pressing his phone, waiting for a bus when the bus parked by his side with the conductor repeating his lines “Ketu-Ojota-Mile 12…….N100.00 Ketu-Ojota”. He (My friend) felt reluctant at first; maybe for the fear of too many guys in the bus. Then I called him….”wale (not real name), wale”. He then responded “guy…how far now? You just dey go home?” then I replied “yes o my Brother. Na wetin man go chop cause am o”. So I told the bus conductor to stand up from my side and allow my friend sit beside me, he quickly objected as there was only one person in the back sit. Wale seeing me in the bus felt at peace and hopped in to the back sit. The conversation then continued with blutooth. Wale then said “Ore, why didn’t you go to work in your car”? “Omo with the traffic around Apapa these days, I go on public transport. I only take my car on Fridays…you know as e dey go now?” I replied. The bus had gotten to another bus-stop called “Church”. A Bros I know also entered the bus. I dodged for him; never wanted him to see me cos he is always in need begging for money. And I mean always.

The driver then moved on to Palm-groove bus-stop. With no passenger at the bus-stop, he drove on. Then the conductor started asking for money. I dug my hand into my front pocket, brought out N500.00 and paid for two; myself and my friend. While waiting for my N300.00 balance and at the same time in deep thought of my family, they declared thus “Hey everybody, you have entered one chance….respect yourself…” I rose up my head to this amazement of whether these “crazy bastards” still exist or they are only joking. The guy sitting beside me started struggling with them when one of the “one chance” guys sitting in the extreme end on the same sit started hitting him hard on the head with a big stone and the guys on the sit behind us hit him with knuckles and gun butt in a bid to calm him down. They hit him on the head until blood started gushing out of it.

I then raised my hands, with my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 in my hand and my BB in one of my front pockets. One of the two guys sitting beside the driver collected the Note 4 from me. Then they stopped bordering me as they focused on other victims. Deep down, I was happy as I still had my BB with my N21k in my pocket. At the time, my friend Wale who is obviously taller and relatively huge was their center of focus. The craziest one among them sitting right behind me holding a gun; pointed the gun at Wale; ordering him to surrender all he has to him. While reluctantly bringing t out, the “Crazy” gave him a heavy blow on his lips and threatened to shoot him. “Abi were nie ni…moni ko fun mi ni owo apo e. olo fe ma s’agidi. E be like sey I go shoot one person for leg so una go know sey we no dey joke o” he said as he released a shot in the air. Then Wale started begging; released all the money plus ATM in his pocket to one of them. “How much dey there?” said the “Crazy”. “N50k” said Wale. Then they asked how much the guy sitting beside me has in his pocket, he brought out N350.00, N2k Nokia phone and 2ATM cards. They asked how much he has in his ATM when the guy replied “N3k”. The crazy now said angrily “so na because of N350, N2k Nokia phone and N3k in your account you wan kill yourself? No dey try am again o. we go just kill you comot; nobody fit hold us”.

At this time we were already in Gbagada cos instead of going straight, they made a turn beside Batola Machine Tools Company, Anthony and headed towards Gbagada via Charley Boy before making a turn on the bridge facing Anthony-Oshodi again. I was nursing the ambition of going home with my BB and N21k in my pocket when one of them dug his hand in my pocket and took them. He then said “wetin be this (showing me my BB)? Sebi you say u don give us everything. You even get money” “haa….i no know say the phone even dey there. I think say I don drop everything o……na a your own, take am naa.” I said. Meanwhile, I had my ATM and another N2k with some change in my back pocket.
They then forced others to release whatever they had on them while pointing guns to Wale to release his ATM PIN to them. He quickly gave them a fake PIN. Not satisfied, they insisted he must follow them to an ATM machine where he will make a withdrawal for them. He then pleaded that he had withdrawn everything in his account which they already collected.

They later dropped us along the road in a flower garden very close to Anthony after UPS office, Gbagada. I then took a cab home with my friend Wale. On getting home, I narrated my ordeal to my wife who said she’s been calling my line to no avail. I then remembered I bought a Chicken Suya….”oh one of then eating it in the bus” I realized.

It was really an awful experience as they were so mean and ready to kill anyone found not cooperating.

I urge the Lagos state government to rise up to its primary responsibility of protecting the life and property of every Lagosian by working closely with security operatives in tracking these dreaded and heartless men down before it is too late.
Kindly share your “One Chance” experience if you have any so others can learn. If you don’t, kindly follow so as to learn from people’s experiences.

AreaFada2:
Well, any attempt to comment on women issues as we men see & experience them is seen as bashing women. Feminazis take it as men saying they are perfect.
But there are pertinent questions. I have female friends I love dearly. They actually cannot find "decent" men as they claim.
However, when we discuss, the decent men almost have to have angelic qualities to qualify. Of course in addition to affluence otherwise undertated as " a comfortable guy".

I drill it into their heads that such men don't exist. That yours truly doesn't even meet 50% of those criteria. And yet you girls consider me a good husband material. That I was taken NOT because I'm great, but by someone who saw potential & was ready to grow and progress with me.

They say they don't want to settle for less.

I have this friend in her mid 30s now. Her wish list for a man is out of this world. As pretty and sweet as she is, I have told her the truth. She cannot reciprocate a guy with those qualities in a million years.

She has been impatient, unreasonabe and arrogant towards her last bf. He has now quietly withdrawn. She's missing an opportunity in my opinion. Now she's chasing another guy that doesn't appear interested in her. Another self-induced heartache ahead.

Already, she's getting quite depressed about things easily. Parents now asking when she will marry and have kids. Regrets about abortions and others now surfacing.
Now, with such emotional baggage & wish list, the chances of a serious guy staying with her are not great.

I have even backtracked from introducing a good friend to her. Until she sorts herself out and face reality.
Bro u are spot on, my own experience is worst I hv s frnd that is 30yrs old we've been frnds for a while so I wanted to try her since we are both matured singles so I started inviting her to my house and believe me for a woman I've not even toasted she's already seeing herself as my future wife, setting standards for me because she has a masters degree in d UK and acca she can't settle for less that I must hv CFA as well telling me my house is not in a posh area that I shld stay on d island.
I dnt need to be be told bfr I quickly withdraw as I can see why she yet to be married at her age.I saw that this kind of woman will ruin me and she's not wot I want.
She calls sometimes to find out y am not seeing her again and I keep posting her.
TravelRe: 10 Reasons Why Lagos Is Better Than Abuja by coleon(m): 7:10am On Jul 31, 2015
hedonistic:
And in terms of cost of living, Abuja is generally cheaper (transport, etc), with the exception of accommodation and maybe services (mechanics, phone repairers and such). Security is much better in Abuja too, partly because of the controlled population in the main city - largely due to the exorbitant accommodation costs. Without meaning to sound insensitive, it is probably a good idea for things to remain this way.

I dread the day that Abuja would become an all-comers affair - with all the criminal elements and other undesirable characters trooping in to make this city less safe and less livable than it currently is. Population explosion must be discouraged here by any means necessary. Abuja should not be allowed to decline to the level of Lagos were robbers, area boys, street gangs, cultists, and all categories of animals are on rampage in virtually every corner. If artificially high house rents is the way to keep these nuisances out of the city, then so be it.
Bro u are wrong, the only reason Abuja is still enjoying civility and serenity is because it's still a young city and it's not private sector driven.
In no time it's bound to explode and trust me agberos and thugs don't have to stay in the expensive houses u mentioned because they will hv under the bridges and motor parks to sleep. So just be prepared for when it will happen.

Having stayed in both places I still prefer Lagos .I think anybody that ll prefer Abuja is a boring introvert, I even went to d uk and I started missing Lagos.
Is it d street credibility or the no dulling lifestyle or the entertainment everywhere or d beaches or the olosho things.
Trust me if u are anywhere in naija and u are not in Lagos u are not anywhere, but all this come with a price which is d rowdiness and d traffic u experience daily.
