Lawal Daura was only made a sacrificial lamb just to save their face.

Osibanjo can not say he is not aware of the plans by APC/DSS to impeached saraki when all the media houses are already aware.

1. Why did osibanjo have to wait till 12 noon before sacking daura,

2. why did Osibanjo did not order the DSS to leave the assembly immediatly as at 6.30 am when pictures where everywhere of how the DSS has blocked entrance to NASS.

3. It was only when the APC coup plotters could not come to NASS because of the tense situation having sense that the coup have failed, then Osibanjo quickly sack Daura just to save the face of the presidency.

4. Daura will surely be compensated later, forget about the fake sack

Amidst reports that some politicians in Akwa Ibom are set to join Godswill Akpabio in defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the senator representing Uyo Senatorial District, Bassey Albert, has declared his political support for the state governor, Udom Emmanuel.

Mr Albert, who spoke through the chairman of his constituency office, Uyo, Daniel Udoh, told PREMIUM TIMES, Monday morning, that he remained a committed member of the PDP.

“It is not true; it is a lie,” Mr Udoh said while dismissing speculations that Senator Albert was leaving the PDP.

“Senator Albert is absolutely in support of Governor Udom Emmanuel.

“The people of Uyo senatorial district are committed and are working for the re-election of the governor, and are determined to remain in the PDP.

“The senatorial district is 100 per cent for Governor Emmanuel, so it’s not possible for the senator to do anything otherwise.

“The senator has consulted widely with the people of the senatorial district, and the people are in solidarity with the governor.

“That’s the position of the senator. I am saying this authoritatively,” Mr Udoh said.

Mr Abert served as finance commissioner in the state under the Akpabio administration before he left for the Senate in 2015.

He is a first-timer in the Senate, just like Mr Akpabio.

The Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Onofiok Luke, has said that nothing would make him leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

There have been speculations in Akwa Ibom that Mr Luke is among the high profile politicians in the state likely to resign from the PDP because of the Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio’s defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Mr Luke, before becoming a legislator, has had a personal relationship with Mr Akpabio and his family. He once served as personal assistant to Mr Akapbio when the latter was the governor of Akwa Ibom State.

“I am a full-blooded member of the PDP. I am a principled person, and I like being known for consistency,” Mr Luke told PREMIUM TIMES, Sunday morning while dismissing the speculations.

The speaker said he started his politics in PDP and that he will continue to stay with the party.

The China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) has concluded the selection of successful applicants for its controversial railway scholarship, sources have told PREMIUM TIMES.

The scholarship would involve sponsoring over two score Nigerian undergraduate students in Chinese universities to study railway engineering. It is part of the CCECC’s corporate social responsibility having benefitted from major railway and other construction projects across Nigeria.

However, only the candidates nominated by ministers and other top officials of the Buhari administration, and who were allowed to take part in the selection interview, made the final list, officials of the construction firm told the anti-graft agency, ICPC.
