FamilyI'm Scared Of The Future Of My Marriage.. by ConfessionsNgr(op): 10:52pm On Jun 05, 2015
Having seen the confessions of a lot of people on this forum, I am tempted to share my little secret with you and hope that your words of advice or criticism will help me in making the right decision. My name is Adanna (Not real name please) and I am 30 years old. By the grace of God, I will be getting married in about six weeks from now to a very wonderful man whom I love so much and will do anything for. My husband to be, is a very loving and caring man whom I will say is any woman’s dream and I can’t wait to be called his wife. However, I am scared of the future, because of the circumstance of how I met him. I met my husband through his uncle who happens to be a very close friend or to put it in simple terms who was like a sugar daddy to me. Please don’t get it wrong here; I am not the kind of girl that runs after sugar daddies. It just happened that the uncle used to live on the same compound with my parents back in the days in Kaduna where we used to live. Then the uncle was a young bachelor and I was in the secondary school. My siblings and I and all other kids in the compound use to take video cassettes to the uncles flat to watch films. There was however, this particular day that I was there alone with the uncle and the unimaginable happened between us. I won’t say he took advantage of me because really and truly I have always liked him and used to dream about him as my knight in shining armor in my teenage mind. He on his part has always shown his likeness and preference for me of all the kids that used to gather in his flat. So we continued with our secret affair back then because nobody knew about it. But then, he was a lot older than me and always told me that what he was doing was wrong, however, he was transferred out of Kaduna and I didn’t see him again till years later. I was posted to Lagos for my youth service after graduating from school and that was when I ran into the uncle once again but then he was already married with three kids. So when he wanted us to start off the relationship once again, I bluntly refused and reminded him that he was married and besides back then, I was infatuated with love but now I am more matured. He respected my decision and we became great friends. So when his nephew who came back from abroad where he went to school, saw me with him and enquired about me from him, he told him that we were former neighbors and that I was a very good girl. That was how his nephew and I started dating. However, when the nephew proposed to me and told me that he wanted to marry me, I was initially scared and ran to him to tell him what his nephew was proposing. He gave me his blessing that I should go ahead and marry him and that our little secret was safe with him and that he was even happy that it was his nephew that was marrying me since he knew that I was a very good girl. Now the marriage preparations are in top gear but I am very scared, should the secret come out any day that I had slept with the uncle back then. Do you think I should go ahead with this marriage, or come clean before the marriage, or just let sleeping dogs lie, because I don’t want to bring shame and disgrace to myself or my family?

CareerDo I Keep Quiet And Save My Job? Please Advise.. A Must Read by ConfessionsNgr(op): 1:35pm On Jun 05, 2015
I live and work in Lagos. Right now I am caught in a very difficult situation and I do not know what to do about it. Please before passing judgment on me, I want you to take your time to read and analyze my situation. I graduated from the university about nine years ago and was not able to secure a job for a very long time. I applied for jobs in various places including private companies and government establishment but my effort was to no avail. I had moved over to Lagos about three years ago with the belief that my situation would improve but it didn’t, not until last year when I ran into an old school friend of mine at a function I attended here in Lagos. He was the one who saw me first and recognized me. He walked up to my table and called out my name. I immediately recognized him as my primary school friend whom I had lost contact with since we left primary school. We got talking and he told me that he was working in one oil service company in Apapa as one of their managers. When he asked me what I was doing, I didn’t waste time in telling him that I have been searching for job since I graduated and have been unable to secure one. He told me to send him my CV and promised to help. True to his words, I was called up for interview a few weeks later by his company after sending him my CV. The long and short of the matter was that I was employed by his company with a very good salary running into six figures and my life has changed for the better. However, about a month ago, some colleagues of mine whom we work together on the same team called me and gave me fifty thousand naira as my share of proceeds for the left over materials that we had used to work. This was something that was usually done whenever we went to work on a location and we were not able to use the whole materials, Instead of returning it, the materials were usually sold off and the proceed was shared by the team members. It was a normal thing with the workers in the company and so when my share was given to me, I collected it without raising eyebrow. But unknown to me this particular material that was sold was stolen by my team members from the warehouse. Right now, the company has found out and my friend is been indicted because he the head of our department. He is on the verge of losing his job unless he produces the real culprit or the materials itself. I feel obligated to tell him who the real culprits are, to save him from this impending sack but that would also put me on the line because they will mention my name that I was also among them since I was also given a share of it, although I honestly was not aware that the material was stolen. I really don’t know what to do at this point because my conscience is pricking me but I cannot afford to lose my job at this time. So what do I do now?

RomanceMy Sister's Shameful Acts... by ConfessionsNgr(op): 3:20pm On Jun 03, 2015
My name is Eyitemi and I am 22 years old. I am a university undergraduate and I am living with my elder sister who is married with two kids. My elder sister is married to a very wonderful man whom most women will cherish to have as a husband, but somehow she doesn’t seem to realize it. My sister’s husband works offshore and so for most part of the year he is usually not around. However, when he is around, he will always want to maximize the little time he spends with his family. He is what you will call a perfect husband if anyone can be referred to as perfect. He is handsome, loving and above all a God fearing man, but my sister on the other hand is a direct opposite of the husband. The problem right now is that she has been cheating on her husband for some time now. The thing is that, if it is just one man she is sleeping with, it will be easy to forgive her and blame it on the fact that she fell into temptation, but that is not it. She is sleeping with different men, some of whom are even younger than her. She is always hanging out in bars and different drinking spots around our area and come home late at night drunk, that is if she even decides to come home at all. Sometimes she spend the night out and when this happens she will switch off her phone and tell me to do the same so that when her husband calls, he cannot get in touch with any of us. I am the one that is basically taking care of the home and her kids as she does not seem to care. I am getting fed up with her irresponsibility and it is really affecting me. I have tried to summon courage and talk to her but I can’t because she very much older than me. We have 13 years in between us and she is the type that will not condone such kind of reproach especially from a younger one like me; and our mother is late although our dad is still alive but I don’t know think it is right to tell him that kind of thing. So please I need you to advise me on what to do before my sister destroys her marriage and brings disgrace on our family.

CrimeMy 3 Year Old Was Molested. Please Advise by ConfessionsNgr(op): 7:34pm On Jun 02, 2015
I am in terrible pains as I write this. My 3 year old daughter was molested by a neighbor in my compound where I stay. This is a guy that my husband and I have helped severally and I can't just imagine he would do this to us. My husband travels a lot for work and I too work so it's difficult always having to keep an eye on my daughter so I hired a maid to help me look after her whenever I'm not home. I don't know how my maid and this guy connived to do this disgusting act to my 3 year old. I came home and found my daughter crying sick only to investigate and found her bleeding in her private part and it was all swollen. I asked the maid and she told me that the guy came to carry her to his one room apartment to play with her before she heard her scream and rushed to her aid. I started crying and now I have cried my eyes out. I still can't believe that people I help could do this to me. Of course they are both roasting in the police cell now but my major problem now is rehabilitation for my daughter. This happened yesterday and she has been sick since. We have gone to the doctor and gotten drugs for her but the doctor says the psychological trauma will linger on for long. I am so scared and I pray nothing would happen to my only child. I just want to make her happier and to forget about this incidence. Any good advise will be helpful to me now.

FamilyMy Life Is In Danger! Must Read by ConfessionsNgr(op): 3:13pm On Jun 02, 2015
As I write this I have not been to my home since on Friday as I fear for my life. My wife has been behaving funny since she made friends with one woman that stays close to us recently. Since she started following this woman my wife has lost the little respect she used to have for me and doesn’t perform her duties as a wife anymore. She treats me anyhow and even stopped making meals for me. She became a lot more quarrelsome and leaves the house unannounced. I was shocked when I asked our daughter if what her mother is doing is right and she shouted at me saying I should let her mother be, now I understand she is taking sides wither mother. This same friend started to come to my house to pick my wife usually with different cars owned by different men. My wife started keeping late nights and one day, when I confronted her she boldly told me that is it bad to go out with her friends? I became mad but didn’t even argue with her. When she was fast asleep I took her phone out of curiosity and started to read her text messages which she has been sending to her friend and all the discussions she makes. I found out that she and this her friend are on a plot to kill me. I instantly lost belief in everything I used to believe in. Why would my wife of 13 years want to kill me? Right now I am so scared of my wife and daughter because she has obviously put my daughter against me and I can’t go back home. I fear for my life and still wondering what went wrong. We have our own disagreements as a couple but I never taught it would get to me running for my life. Please advise me on what to do house.

RomanceHELP!! My Friend's Stepfather Wants To Molest Her!!! MUST READ!!! by ConfessionsNgr(op): 3:29pm On May 31, 2015
This is a very confidential issue and I shouldn't even be sharing it here. But I really feel I can get insights that will come handy from the comments here. My best friend of sixteen years lost her dad about two years ago. We are both seeking for admission into the higher institution. After a year that her dad passed away now, her mum decided to remarry to another man. The man is a widower, around his mid-fifties and rich. She moved in with him. So now, after like three months of moving in, my friend told me the man started making eyes to her whenever her mum wasn't around. He has daughters too, two of them, but they are both in school. My friend says the man do enter her room without knocking every now and then. He will always tap her on the bum and try cuddling her from behind. She even says she once caught him peeping through the window of the bathroom while she was bathing. My friend is scared of telling her mum as her mum and her stepdad look happy together and her mum seems to love him a lot. Please what should she do before things get out of hand?

FamilyI Can't Satisfy My Wife In Bed by ConfessionsNgr(op): 1:52pm On May 30, 2015
I think my marriage is in trouble already. I am a civil servant, while my wife is a full time housewife. I work 8am to 5pm daily, but I have to leave home 6am and get back 8pm, in order to beat traffic. So anytime I return, I am always tired, like they say "body no be wood". We have a kid already, and our marriage is just 4 years. My wife always complain of my performance in bed. I can only last a round, and the round only lasts for few minutes. I have tried using performance-enhancement drugs, but the side effects are much. The doctor says I need a lot of rest to have a lot of virility. But how can I rest when I am hardly home, I wish my wife will understand, but she is always saying I am not man enough on bed. I wish I could satisfy her sexually too, I try my best to, but it is not just enough. I love my wife so much and I will do anything for her and our marriage. But in this case, I just don't know what to do. Please help save my marriage, my wife is an housewife and anything can happen.

Jobs/VacanciesSigns To Show You Are Tired Of Your Current Job. A Must Read!! by ConfessionsNgr(op): 3:51pm On May 20, 2015
There is nothing like getting satisfaction from the job you do, but when that satisfaction or the thrill that comes with your job is no longer there, and you are stressed out, exhausted and generally unhappy with your job then it is time to take a walk. However, with the rate of unemployment in Nigeria, a lot of people are usually scared of quitting their jobs because of the fear of the unknown, and the possibility of not getting another job when they quit, but the truth be told that no job is worth your health. So when you begin to see the red flags, do not hesitate to quit that job and move on. I have had to quit a job by washing down the top management team and giving them a piece of my mind before throwing in my resignation letter, when I felt that things were not working the way it was suppose to be. Although I am not recommending that you do the same here, all I am saying is that you know when to draw the curtain when the time comes.
How do you now know when to quit that job? Listed below are signs that will tell you it is time to move on.

You are stressed out.
There comes a time when your job begins to take a toll on you. You are usually stressed out and become exhausted. Your body begins to feel pains and you find it difficult to wake up in the morning and prepare for work, because the sleep is usually not enough. The job begins to take negative impact on you both mentally and physical so much so it begins to affect other areas of your life. Do yourself a favor by getting out when you still can.

Skills are not fully utilized.
There is the tendency that if you are not learning anything or not given bigger challenges you will become less valuable in the market, so when your skills are not fully utilized, you will find out that you are not fully using your full potentials, and that means that you have stopped learning and growing on your job so it is time to move on. I have heard people who complained that they have been in a particular position for Ten years! Invariably that means that they have spent ten years of their life stagnated when the world out there may have so much to offer them.

Values not aligning with your job
It may be that your personal values are misaligned with your company values. It now becomes an issue for you to work in contrast to your values. I have had a friend who had to quit his job because his company was engaging in activities that didn’t go well with his conscience so instead of working in contrast to his values, he had to quit his job.

Your take home pay can no longer take you home
You may have started your job at the entry level with a salary that was just okay for you then, probably because you were single and may have been living with your parents or relative. However, when you now start a family of your own with the responsibilities that comes with it, and your salary has not been increased, probably because you have stayed too long in one position then it is time for you to move on.

Working in an unfriendly environment
There are times when you work in an unfriendly environment and your boss is so overbearing and unsupportive that it begins to affect your work and you experience emotional wreck that will subsequently affect your work. If your working condition does not improve then it is time for you to start looking elsewhere.

In all of these, it is only you that can really determine if you should really leave but before you do this, make sure you seek the advice of people around you like your spouse, relatives, friends and people who matter in your life so as to be sure so you don’t end up making a mistake. Do you have any stories about your job and workplace you would like to share? Kindly do so and anonymously if you don’t want your face on it.

CareerSigns To Show You Are Tired Of Your Current Job. A Must Read!! by ConfessionsNgr(op): 3:45pm On May 20, 2015
There is nothing like getting satisfaction from the job you do, but when that satisfaction or the thrill that comes with your job is no longer there, and you are stressed out, exhausted and generally unhappy with your job then it is time to take a walk.

Sometime ago he came to me and told me that the Custom service was trying to dispose off some container of goods which were seized by customs and have remained unclaimed.
