thebosstrevor1: Fdi also counted as remittance No. Remittances do not include FDI. Secondly, this 'promo' is for people who receive fcy through IMTOs. Can you send FDI through western union? Again, no. |

einsteine: That's if you are doing small amounts. The charges on a million dollars will not be anywhere close to 5 million Naira which is what the CBN will be giving. You want to receive 1m dollars though western union? |

thebosstrevor1: You are right in a way but not every one receives money from abroad, the reality is very few people receive dollars in Nigeria, the bulk of dollars entering this countryis from fdi...so i don't see us getting hyper inflation If remittances are not significant, the Cbn would not come up with this policy or 'promo'. |

Femmylawy: Blocking in advance or is it possible to book appointment without blocking? Help out if you can. Thanks You can book appointment without blocking. In fact that's the smart thing to do since you don't know if and when you will be given an appointment. When you get an appointment, you must however block before your appointment date. |

If possible take an extended break. Like 2 weeks at a stretch. No work. 2 weeks without timetable, without deadlines, without deliverables. Just let your mind wander and do whatever you feel like doing. Add exercise to it.
You will come back refreshed. |

Dayzzy: Yea true..but I thought banks still offer close to the official rate with the Form A ..maybe #20 higher Maybe I'm mistaken.
Well, at black market rate of #580, that's about #6 mil (5,974,000) We'll have to confirm that. But I'm not sure that banks have foreign currency to exchange over the counter. What I have heard is that you will have to source your Euro from the parallel market, and the bank only makes the transfer for you at a fee. I'd like anyone who has done this recently to pls share their experience. And by the way, the fact that the naira value of block account requirement has gone from about 4m to 6m within 2 yrs makes me very angry. It makes me wanna slap the handlers of our economy. The most inept people to ever grace this earth. It is just appalling to be honest |

Dayzzy: If you have scholarship, you won't have to pay the blocked amount whuch is about €10300( currently #4.7mil using official rate of 480). You can check daad.de for scholarships using the below link. Just filter the database according to your course of study. https://www2.daad.de/deutschland/stipendium/datenbank/en/21148-scholarship-database/ But you won't get Euros at official rate for block accout, will you? So, just do your calculations based on parallel rates. |

tosinhtml: Come off with this mindset, no country survives without immigrants. Who is going to do those jobs citizens don't want to do? Menial jobs, construction, Nursing & even programming jobs, Going to study in Germany shows that you are actually impacting their country with Skill & knowledge, Immigrants work their ass off & also pay 40% or more taxes to their country. We work like rugrats, 60 hours per week for some just to earn a living & pay their taxes.
My point is: They need us as much as we need them. 50/50. Maybe they 'need' us. Maybe they don't. But they do not 'owe' us. |

obibanks: But it's true. The pages are filling up fast because of such repetitive questions and people's motivations are nowavering. At this rate, we'll have to beg the MOD to open a new page soon.
We are really hoping things gets back to normal & Germany remembers us. If y'all aren't aware with current affairs, International Migration is at a shaky point and we just have to stay optimistic and keep faith that these people reconsiders because Truth be told, they don't owe us sh*t. Biko let people ask their questions in peace. Everyone was once a newbie, and that is the purpose of this thread. I understand that it can be boring to see the same questions being asked over and over again. That's not enough reason to discourage questions, however 'stupid' or basic they may seem. And of course, you can always ignore the questions. We all do that from time to time. Sometimes we're in the mood to answer, Sometimes we are not. Las las, the purpose of this thread is questions. |

Ellawhyte55: Good day everyone, please I want to enroll for the B1 language class in Goethe, do I have to have done from A1-A2 before I can enroll? Or I can just enroll for B1 to fulfill embassy requirements for category A? Thank you. First of all, I don't think B1 qualifies you as CAT A. Secondly, you will go through a placement test to verify your capability to join the B1 class. So you don't necessarily need to have gone through A1 - A2. |

NkLyssa: Good day everyone, I am new here kindly help please. Normally, what you quoted means exactly what it means: If you don't get an AD by the time your programme commences, then your application is no longer considered. In fact, by 30th September all registrations for appointment are reset. You should also be aware that majority are in the same situation. Hiwever, given the peculiarities of this year, we don't know if things we be done differently. Everyone is simply waiting and hoping. There is no communication from the embassy. I'd advice you wait till the end of this month to see if your registration is automatically cancelled. (In this case, you will get a notification, I beleive). Then you will know the next steps to consider. All the best. |

The programme offerings are very similar but the programme is relatively newer in Dortmund.
I will appreciate any info on the programmes, schools, and cities that can help guide my decision. Thanks. |

Everyone is saying the op should do what he likes. You are a man blah blah blah. Have we forgotten that you need the support of family and friends to organise the event? Bride and groom can never do it alone.
My advice is that you have a dialogue with concerned parties and compromise. |
