Jeanjohnny: Hello everyone, I'm a newbie here. I applied to about 4 Universities (two of the Universities were through their online portal - TU Dortmund and Hildesheim, while the others Uni potsdam and FU Berlin, through Uniassist Portal) all for M.Sc Data Science. I received an acknowledgement from the former that my applications were well received and wait for a decision. The only issue I have with the latter (Uniassist). Over a week now that I applied, I keep seeing "In evaluation, payment received'' under my application tab. I uploaded scanned copies of my original documents including motivation letter with the application form I downloaded after paying the handling fee. I also received an email saying "Thank you. Your payment was successful and we received your application. Attached please find your application overview, the fees and a PDF of our Terms & Conditions". Please, what else should I do? 1. Do I go ahead and certify my documents at the high court and send to Uniassist through courier immediately or wait till they send another mail asking me to send my documents? 2.The documents I plan on sending are my school leaving certificate with Waec scratch card, University certificate, and my transcript, IELTS(optional). Are there other documents that are required to be sent apart from this? Looking forward to your replies. Thanks! It usually takes at least 2 weeks for Uni-assist to evaluate your documents and forward your application to the school(s) you applied to. Mine took almost three weeks. Uni-assist will inform you via email when the evaluation is completed and your application is forwarded. Since you say it's been just a week, I'll say be patient. I do not know about FU berlin, but for potsdam you are not required to send any physical documents via post. This information is available on potsdam's website. Just ensure you print out the application form from Uni-assist, sign it and upload back to Uni-assist. |

permsec: Hello house,
Please do I have to get another transcripts? I’m certain that the transcripts are actually handwritten but they are not fake. How do I get the university grading scale? Your transcript is handwritten? Your school issues handwritten transcript to all students? Most people will find a handwritten transcript suspicious. As for grading scale , most people will have that in the department/faculty handbook. |

Quick question guys.
Do you need the paper admission letter for visa application or will the admission letter sent via email be sufficient? |

The schools I would be applying for through uniassist, mentioned that they'll be taking online application through uniassist? That means I won't be sending my docs by post to Berlin,
How am I gonna start it? , is there a need for the VPD stuff, pls guide me. Applying to leuphana is straightforward. Upload your docunents on uniassist and make your payment. That's all |

dennison4luv: I presented English language proficiency letter from my former university I think you should contest their decision. There is no assurance that they will change their mind, but who knows? If I were in your shoes, I will carefully craft an email, respectfully asserting that I am a native english speaker. Native, like a South African, a Jamaican, an American, a Briton. If you're going to reject my application, let it be for a requirement that I truly do not meet. English is the the official language in Nigeria. It is the only official language of instruction in schools, from primary to tertiary. It is what (I believe) you have spoken since birth. Your uni has also confirmed that you were taught in English. On these grounds, their decision makes no sense. Besides, it's not possible to write English proficiency tests now due to the coronavirus crisis. Are they not aware? Tell them you're willing to be subjected to any test (or interview) to verify that your English language skills are more than sufficient. Like I earlier said, there is no assurance that they will budge. At this point there is nothing to lose. You should also apply to other schools. I wish you the best. |

Philamags: Hello great minds!
Please is any one aware if the German embassy in Nigeria has resumed operation?
I want to be sure that all things are Clared out and all operations are resumed before i arrange for my SL to avoid wasting it. I heard that SL when issued must be used within 6 month's , else it becomes invalid.
Thanks! According to the info on the embassy website, they are not currently accepting new visa applications. You should not expect them to accept applications until Germany opens its borders. Abi what will be the point of the visa? Even your own country has not lifted the ban on international travel. |

dennison4luv: Greetings guys please I am having issues with the filling of form on uniassist site. Please who do I know this unanswered mandatory questions I have filled and answered the things that concerned me but this ""unanswered mandatory questions""" keep on popping up There must be some mandatory question(s) which you have not answered. I think there's a section where you are asked some 3 question and instruction says to enter '0' if it is not applicable to you. Could be that part. Unfortunately i can't remember the specific questions. Should be the second tab, i think. Bottom line : carefully go through the questions. |

Mikeval001: To be honest you will need lot of prayers, believe and patient because it's not easy to get appointment date from the embassy especially on category B.
I was on this journey last year,I got admission in May 2019 for September intake and I applied for appointment unfortunately appointment didn't show till the year ended. I was said and worried and funny thing was that at the time I didn't know much about Nairaland mainly because I have three friends studying in Germany so they were helpful with guidelines but i forgot to put into consideration that a lot has changed since they left Nigeria in terms of appointment date and other things. I funded my block account with Fintiba last year June, when I couldn't get appointment date for September my school decided to defer my admission to March 2020 then I rebook another appointment but still I couldn't get appointment date for category B for March, I could remember vividly that even people on category A then couldn't get appointment date except for people on category A with scholarship, to be honest I gave up and I started working on how to get my money back from Fintiba and to the glory of God I got it back three weeks ago.
Now I'm processing another country but I've learnt and know a lot about Germany so I come here once in a while to give advice and answer questions to the best of my knowledge. What!? All is well. |

Please this is quite urgent, am literally stranded. I Good day. I hope this is not coming late. Just go to the front of the high court. Even before you get there, some young men and women who act as middle men will approach you and ask you what you want to do. They do all sorts of legal documentations there. It's very straightforward. |

ble55edman: Pls the school I am applying to; University of Portsdam for Msc in Digital Health clearly stated that copies of my credentials should not be certified "uncertified". But application is via uniAssist.
Pls do I go ahead and send my uncertified copies to uniAssist . Pls I need clarifications as i am currently confused. God bless you I'm about to complete my application to Potsdam too. I initially found it confusing as well. Yes, you are to submit your uncertified documents online via UniAssist . You are not required to mail physical copies to UniAssist. Submit online, print out the application form, sign it, scan and upload back on uniassist under the 'my documents' tab. In summary, everything is done online. And no notarised copies are required at this time. When you gain admission, you will provide notarised copies for enrolment. So, no stress. Let's share that money you were planning to spend on notarization and courier. Cheers! |

jovids: Good morning everyone.
I am so grateful to God. I am finally done with IELTS.
1st attempt 17th August, 2019 - LRWS- 7.5, 9, 6.5, 6.5
When I saw the result, I was so angry and moody all through that day. However, the next day, I woke up, encouraged myself and decided to rewrite the test on the next available date (7th Sept), which was just one week away (Thank God I made the decision). I realized I needed help, so I contacted @ johnnybravo to assist with my writing. He agreed and we had one week intensive coaching on writing, while i was also seriously practicing the other components as well. He also gave me tips on Listening.
2nd attempt 7th September, 2019- LRWS- 8.5, 9, 7.5, 7.5 (all maxed out)
MY ADVICE
Listening- Practice hard and listen attentively. Infact, listen like your life depends on it. Look out for your weak areas and focus on them till you conquer.
Reading-Practice, focus on your weak areas. try and get the 'tricks' behind answering correctly.
Writing- Please, please and please, if you are stuck on 6.5, look for someone to review your scripts. It will save you the money you will spend rewriting the test. I recommend @ johnnybravo1990, he is really thorough, detailed and also friendly.
Speaking-i made the mistake of trying to over-impress in my first test. My advise here is to keep it simple. Just talk as if you are with a friend. you dont need impress. Keep talking until you are told to stop.
I have learnt so much from this thread and I want to appreciate everybody. Thank you @ cookeed (for taking out time to share your tips with me) @ johnnybravo (the intensive coaching really paid off) @ladymarshall @ jjohndoe83 and to everyone who keep contributing one way or the other to this thread.
All Glory to God! Congratulations! I'm so happy for you. I'm glad I was of a little help. Well done! |

americanson: lol... Another one.... What is your company into? Don't be silly. I haven't criticised Paddy. If you check my post very well you will see that I clearly stated that there is nothing wrong with being a businessman, even though it is different from being an entrepreneur. Just like there is nothing wrong with being a nurse, but a nurse is not a doctor. |
Business › Re: Chronicles Of Catalan : Five Lessons I Learnt From Paddy Adenuga's Memoir by CooKeed(m): 7:21pm On Jan 31, 2018 |
majekdom2: We will keep seeing different posts from different people claiming they have learnt one or two thing.... simply because it's Adenuga. The typical ass licking character with most Nigerians. What paddy has done is what every other "business man" does everyday. Trying to get deals done. Whilst I salute his effort, boldness, courage and entrepreneur spirit, I do not find his story motivating. Yes, it's not bad belle. Catalan was just another trading business that may have happened. Typical buying and selling with no tangible technology creation or transfer itself. I mean Paddy is not building a product from scratch, going to test it market, trying to acquire customers and then not making money as one would have projected. Stories like facebook, Google, Amazon, Dropbox, pay stack, microsoft, apple and name it. These are businesses that were built from nothing. Adenuga wanted to purchase an asset. With some connection, you can secure loan from the bank and buy an oil assest. It's something we hear everyday. It would have been a more interesting story if he did something outside his father's business. I mean build a product from scratch. This is my own definition of entrepreneurship! That is not your definition of entrepreneurship. That is the definition of entrepreneurship. Everyone calls themselves an entrepreneur these days. But they are businessmen, not entrepreneurs. Of course, there's nothing wrong with being a businessman. But there's a difference. |

sleekchic: Hello,
Please may I ask why you declined the offer? I have been trying to find out their usual salary range as some consulting firms are quite unreasonable. Please assist Sunrise is a recruitment agency. They recruit for other companies. You are most likely being interviewed for a role in another company. So unless you know which company it is, you cannot know the salary. If you have been invited for an interview I will advice that you go there and hear what they have to say. Then decide if you want it or not. |
