A 12-year-old girl who was reportedly raped and impregnated by a man in Benue, has been delivered of a baby.

According to reports, the teenage girl is an orphan and was taken advantage by the man who is currently on the run.

She however went into labour yesterday and was rushed to the General Hospital, Makurdi where she due to give birth, but unfortunately she had to be delivered of the baby through CS and there are no facilities to cater for that at the medical centre.

She was then rushed to a private hospital.

"A 12 year old child is in labour now, she is lying helpless in d labour room at General Hospital Mkd, both parents are late n the rapist is on d run. We want to move her to Teaching Hospital. She can’t deliver normal it has to be CS" one of the women who took custody of the child reported.

The lady however reported this morning that the teenage girl has just been delivered of a baby through Cesarean section after she was transferred to a private hospital.

"No Corrupt Akwa Ibom Election Petitions Tribunal Member Will Escape Prosecution"- EFCC

The office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has confirmed that a junior member of one of the Election Tribunal panels sitting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State is being investigated. The EFCC confirmed that its office received a petition showing video evidence of how a junior member of one of the panels solicited for help for one of the political parties. The video evidence was recovered from the CCTV which serves as a security appliance mounted by the management of a hotel.
An EFCC officer who is privy to the investigation but would not want his name in print, confirmed that the EFCC Chairman has directed some officers to look into the investigation and report to him. "I can assure you, we have the video evidence and we are analysing it.
We will soon call a press conference and let the whole world see what transpired in the video.
The principal suspect has been invited sometime last month but his solicitor just informed us that he may not be able to attend the next questioning because of his health condition. But no matter what happens, the Commission will do justice to the all the parties involved", the officer said, on condition of anonimity, since he is not permitted to speak with the press.

So I have been thinking of building a 4 bedroom house back at home in Kaduna, and I decided to google to see nice house plans, I saw this 3D view of a house I think I will like and the phone number of the designer by the corner of the image, I decided to give him a call with my Nigerian number, thinking that if I call him with my foreign number he will think I have too much money, I call this guy and we exchange pleasantries, I told him of my objectives and asked for an estimate for a 4 bedroom flat, the guys says 17Million NAIRA, I was like "Eh! no bros, not for the whole building just for the structural design, are you billing for the whole project + building?". Thank God seff my credit ran out.


I couldn't have imagined how much he will charge me if I had used my foreign number, or how much I will spend into building the house itself if I paid that amount just for the house plan, it goes without saying that that amount was too much for a 4 bedroom apartment, even for Buharis son. , just kidding. It shows that there are Nigerians with real money

I personally built 4bedroom with less than that amount.

Evidence that the wife must be given her dowry is found in many places, for example the aayah (interpretation of the meaning): “And give to the women (whom you marry) their mahr (obligatory bridal money given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage) with a good heart…” [al-Nisaa’ 4:4]

Ibn ‘Abbaas said: “This refers to the mahr (dowry).”

Ibn Katheer, may Allaah have mercy on him, said, summarizing the comments of the mufassireen on this aayah: “The man must definitely pay the dowry to the woman, and he should not resent it.”

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “But if you intend to replace a wife by another and you have given one of them a cantar (of gold, i.e., a great amount) as mahr, take not the least bit of it back; would you take it wrongfully without a right and (with) a manifest sin? And how could you take it (back) when you have gone in unto each other, and they have taken from you a firm and strong covenant?” [al-Nisaa’ 4:20-21]

Islam has legislated the giving of the dower by the husband to the wife in order to please the woman’s heart and to honour her. It is also meant to bring an end to what was done in the Days of Ignorance wherein she was wronged, exploited, despised and robbed of her wealth. The dower is a right exclusively for the wife. It is her possession and none of her guardians or relatives may share any part of it. No one has any power over her concerning how she wishes to dispose of it, as long as she does so in a legally acceptable manner. She may give it away as a gift, she may lend it to others or she may give it in charity or do any other permissible acts she wishes with it.

In the Hausa tradition, and even in real English definition, it is the girl who pays the dowry, not the guy, as a matter of fact, in an ideal marriage the man's sole responsibility is to provide the house, the woman is obligated to fill up the house with whatever is required to make a home.
