Which are all still foreign to me! Would a Japanese, Italian, French, Greek or Indian give their children Ibo, Yoruba or Hausa names?

I would never ever give my child an English name. It's colonial mentality. And I don't like christian names either, the reason being they also sound English. I prefer names in my native language.

In different circumstances, she would have earned my kudos for doing that, I would have done the same myself. But her husband, by virtue of his position is public property, he 'belongs' to all of us and answerable to us. She has no right whatsoever to shield him from us. In this instance, she is not protecting him, she is breaching protocol.

There's nothing wrong in a wife/mother wanting to take a holiday alone, but then some husbands might not allow it. His religion might forbid it or his principles against it. Different strokes for different people!
