FamilyRe: Should I Lock Up My Mum Or What? by coolier(f): 10:20am On Feb 16, 2010
I really think you should lock her up, especially on your wedding day! That is every mother's day of joy isn't it? And what better place to spend it than the police cell!  Now that 'am seriously thinking about it, the Police alone cannot do the work. Go all the way, include the whole Armed forces, Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps to block all access, just to make assurances doubly sure!. That way you would prove your power and prowess to all and sundry. And when your in-laws and other guests ask for your dear mother, you can always brag to them and say I locked her up in a police cell somewhere because she did not approve of my marriage! Who the hell are you? angry angry

FamilyRe: How Should I Do It by coolier(f): 8:10pm On Feb 15, 2010
You're only 19, you live at home, your parents should still be looking after you. Give them gifts once in a while to show your appreciation and love but by all means keep your money. Open a bank account and save as much as you can. Except of course your parents really need that money, you don't sound like they do in your post.
FamilyRe: I Think Marriage In Africa Is Against Women. by coolier(f): 8:02pm On Feb 15, 2010
It's a popular belief, 'behind every successful man there is a woman'! The woman is first a friend, a wife, a mother, a confidant, a caretaker and most times adviser, so she ends up being blamed for not performing those roles well when things go wrong or fall below expectations in the family.

FamilyRe: How Can Someone Deal With His Wicked Mother She Likes Disgracing Her 28 Old by coolier(f): 10:20am On Feb 13, 2010
Most people at 26 are in their matrimonial homes not their parents. So maybe it's time to move away from home. That notwithstanding I don't think it's right for any mum to hit anybody at all not to talk of a 26yr old. She's an adult.

PoliticsRe: Who Is Now The First Lady? Hence Turai Is Not Sick. by coolier(f): 9:45pm On Feb 12, 2010
kobojunky:
Yaradua is still the President.

He was neither impeached or voted out!

Turai remains the first lady and GoodLook is ACTING.
Of course he is, I keep forgetting. President in absentia. What I meant to say is Turai cannot perform her duties as a first lady when Jonathan is Acting President. She can only do that when Yar'Adua is back.
PoliticsRe: Who Is Now The First Lady? Hence Turai Is Not Sick. by coolier(f): 8:25pm On Feb 11, 2010
Gbawe:
She is more than that. Some protocol , national and International, will expect the wife of a President , substantive or otherwise , to perform certain roles.
If there is a President and a first lady, then yes. In this case there is none and everybody knows Jonathan is Acting President.

Gbawe:
If , for example, a speech is reserved for the first lady of Nigeria then Jonathan's wife will deliver the speech. Jonathan's wife , for all intents and purposes , will act as the first lady .
His wife will deliver any speech and attend all engagements as the wife of the Acting President. There's no Acting First Lady.

PoliticsRe: Who Is Now The First Lady? Hence Turai Is Not Sick. by coolier(f): 6:42pm On Feb 11, 2010
Turai can only be first lady to Umaru Yar'Adua if he were still the President. Now he is not, so even Turai is no more a first lady.
Jonathan is Acting President not substantive, his wife therefore is the wife of the Acting President. When he becomes President, his wife becomes the first lady.

FamilyRe: Wives: What will you do If you Discover Your Hubby Is Secretly Building A House by coolier(f): 8:23pm On Feb 08, 2010
Absolutely nothing. I'll fake ignorance and life goes on as usual. Since we have our own house, I won't have a problem with that. He doesn't want me to know, I'll pretend not to know. 'Am sure when the time comes he'll tell me and if he doesn't, I won't ever ask him. But I know! And "knowledge is power"!!! But the interesting thing is he doesn't know that I do.
FamilyRe: Help! My Cousin's Corpse Is Missing! by coolier(f): 8:07pm On Feb 08, 2010
Report her missing to the Police and put adverts in both the print and electronics media with her picture. That would help in a great deal in catching up with the young man. They must have been living somewhere, they must have been seen together, have friends, neighbors are bound to recognize your cousin from her photograph and might offer useful information in relation to the identity of the young man.
