bidexiii: BE PROFESSIONAL IN YOUR CONDUCT: THEATRE COMMANDER OPHK CHARGE TROOPS IN DAMASAK.
The Theatre Commander Joint Taskforce ( JTF ) NorthEast Operation HADIN KAI ( OPHK ) Major General Christopher Gwabin Musa has charged troops to be professional in their conduct in the performance of their operational responsibilities in the fight against insurgency in the North East region. General Christopher stated this on Friday, 11 March, 2022 while on operational visit to 5 Brigade DAMASAK under Sector 3 Area of Responsibility.
The Theatre Commander who was accompanied on the visit by Commander Sector 3, Major General GM Mutkut were received on arrival by the Commander 5 Brigade Brigadier General GO Olorunyomi at the Tactical Command Headquarters Damasak
According to the TC, the Chief of Army Staff ( COAS ) Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya as one time Theatre Commander is conversant with the operational situation of the North East and has therefore, provided all the resources needed to prosecute and end this war against the Terrorist group.
He further stressed that with the much needed resources provided by the COAS therefore, troops must reciprocate by using the equipments professionally in order to end the menace of terrorism in the region.
Additionally, while calling on the troops to remain focus, dedicated and committed in all the ongoing operations in the theatre, he urge them to be professional in their conducts at all times and further warned that any unprofessional conduct from anyone will attract severe sanction.
He further emphasized on the need for troops to continue to be law abiding in their conducts and not to violate the fundamental human rights of law abiding citizens whom they are paid to protect.
Furthermore, General Christopher Musa advised all Commanders at all levels to be good managers of men and resources entrusted to them for the prosecution of the war against the Terrorist.
He warned seriously that any Commander who fails to judiciously manage the resources given to him will not be spared.
The indefatigable Theatre Commander also addressed Senior None Commissioned Officers ( SNCO ) to leave up to expected standard and justify the rank given to them by having full grips and control over their subordinates, soldiers. He urged them to see it as a rear previledge to serve in the North East . That the previledge has placed them ahead of their colleagues who are not serving in the North East.
In his address to soldiers, he said as soldiers we are trained to to face challenges and also to be able to defeat the challenges. Therefore, those committed to doing their job would be rewarded. He stressed that their promotion in the field must be base on performance. The Theatre Commander promised that those soldiers putting in their best in the operation would be considered for special promotion.
Present during the visit were component Commanders of Operation HADIN KAI, Principal Staff Officers of Headquarters Theatre Command and 5 Brigade, Unit and formation Commanders under 5 Brigade. Is that a gatling gun on that mrap by the right? Or it's a cover for the gun? |

When Ogomudia visited, he said "We just tasted the sounds of war and he pray we never experience the real thing" The ikeja blast would have been childs play, if the armoury depot, less that 2km from my house exploded....the biggest depot in west Africa and one of the largest in Africa....half of Lagos would have sunk. The ikeja bomb blast while a tragedy was also a Blessing in disguise, as it moved the relevant authorities to repair and upgrade dilapidated ammunition storages. |

tutudesz: January 27 bring back some bittersweet memories
I was ironing my uniform and my sisters, when I heard a huge blast and I ran down to check what was happening O!
When I saw my neighbor a Brig Gen shouting that his children and wife should come ouside i went inside to call my sisters and my senior brother, grabbed the New N500 note my uncle gave me (Mumsi went for NAOWA Function, has per PRO)
My classmate, her brother, Mom and their neighbor (5) were in front of my street (Obj Road) when we saw a army Range Rover speeding, 4 soldiers came out and straight to the fence started breaking it the next thing was boom!! boom!! boom!! Boom!!
The look on some Officers face was priceless , they were asking if it's was a coup 5 soldiers were running toward us and one of the Officers asked what was happening, Oga na fire near storage
The officers shouted we should jump the fence into Onigbongbo and leave the area before the situation gets out of hand Has we were lining up, the blast sound increased and everything went out of control so fast
My family (4) my classmate family (3) their neighbor (5) ran from Maryland to 3rd Mainland Bridge, were we charter a bus to Ikoyi. We were still hearing the blast and vibration the sky was red, we could not sleep that night.
Unfortunately no single life was lost inside the barrack , that was not the case for those outside
Am very grateful to God that the blast happened on Sunday and not monday, because the death toll would've been close to 50,000. I remember this day, I was in my house in navy town , a couple of sub-lt were in my house, they probably just passed out if NDA less than 3 years, and my curtains were flying up, with each explosion, they asked us to open all the doors and windows, it was then the curtains stopped flying about, and it was then I learnt if there's an explosion avoid enclosed spaces. Those guys would be Commodores anytime soon, if they aren't already. |

Richdoh: I'm a young hard work guy who's planning to settle down someday. I have a girlfriend whom I have gone to see her family with my own family , as in, we have done our introduction, what was remaining was for us to fix a date for our wedding.
But this girl started showing some nasty attitude. There was a day she came to spend weekend with me and I gave her some money to buy some food stuffs to cook, that day i received the greatest shocke of my life , my fiancee warmed me never to send her message like that again that she is not my slave.
As if that was not enough. Another day she came to spend some days with me but when she got to my house I was not at home that day. She went to the bathroom to get some shower but unfortunately there was no water running in the bathroom because we didn't had light for 2days so we couldn't pump water. Normally when there's no water like that we usually fetch from the next compound. Though I live in a room and parlour self contain with water running in my kitchen and bathroom.
To cut the long story short, my fiancee refused to fetch water for herself to take her shower. She had to call me on phone to come home and fetch water for her to take her shower. When I eventually got home at late hour, I took the bucket went to fetch water for her to bath just for peace to rain. I later asked her why she had to call me to come and fetch water for her to bath knowing fully well that I was not around. She said in her house, she does not fetch water that her dad usually call Aboki's and buy water from them. She told me that she can't leave a suffering life of having to fetch water, she can never do it.

The only thing I would agree to is that, the location is Maiduguri...this aircraft you are calling super tucano aren't super tucano, you can see the engines by the side and you can see the size in comparison with the j7, and the shape of the supposed tucano wings. This is most probably a picture from this year, but much earlier, before the f7s left the country and tucano came to Nigeria.... because there are only 2 f7s in the country, the rest are out. SuperSixSeven: Sattelite images show at least 4 Tucanos based in Maiduguri I'm starting to get tired of you people, at least tag your source for one, so that when your mistake is been called out you wouldn't be tagged the idiot. 1) the f7 are not in Nigeria, they are in China, only 2 are in. Nigeria, there are 3 on the flight line 2) these air crafts you are calling super tucano have dual engines with the propellers by the side, super tucano has a single engine with propellers at the front. 3) the time line of when the super tucano were in the country, the j7 were already out. 4) the paint scheme of the j7 isn't what Nigeria uses 5) the paint scheme on the false super tucano isn't the same as Nigerian tucano. 6) super tucano is a tiny aircraft, those aircraft in the pics are about the size of the j7. This picture isn't even Nigeria |

EkehPraise: Good morning brethren I come again but this time with smiles on my fave because I am here to give a follow up on my thread of yesterday about my girlfriend not always calling or chatting with me even when I recharge and pay for her data subscriptions, Here's the link to the previous thread : https://www.nairaland.com/6858380/girlfriend-doesnt-call-me
Of which my fellow wonderful Nairalanders advised me accordingly. Firstly she's a Nairalander so she saw the thread and people's reactions I guess that was what made her call me last night but I didn't pick up and when she 'Hi' me on whatsapp I ignored it also. This morning as early as 6am she called me again and out of church mind I picked up and she started by apologizing for her behavior then dropped the bombshell that her Pastor told her we are not compatible a year ago but she couldn't tell me because I have been good to her and supported her in every way. I asked her so why don't you reciprocate my love or leave me alone ever since and her response was that her Pastor monitors her but I should give her another chance
So I told her no problem, I have to consulted with my own pastor (NAIRALAND) and he said I should stop keeping myself down to be used so I have moved on and she should do the same.
Happy Sunday brethren I once dated a very pretty girl, there's this church her mom goes to, along the line the pastor too started calling her and praying for her, it migrated to pastor asking about her relationships, and discouraging relationships, after that it went to pastor trying to date her and sending her money. I have a policy, once you start making 3rd parties seem like I'm dating them too or in a relationship with them too, we are going to crash, there won't ever be a future. |

DubaiLandLord1: Vice President Yemi Osinbajo says the threat to Nigeria by Boko Haram, ISIS and its affiliate, Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP), is increasing.
Osinbajo raised the alarm on Thursday at the State House, Abuja, during the United States-Nigeria signing of a $2.1billion Development Assistance Agreement.
The VP thanked US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken for America’s support on security, infrastructure and intelligence
Noting that the 12 Super Tucano turboprops have been delivered, he said Nigeria looks forward to receiving the fighter helicopters.
Osinbajo informed Blinken that the security issues and terror threats in the North-East, Lake Chad and the Sahel persist.
“They seem to increase. We are looking forward to greater cooperation because the challenge of terrorism, especially of the sort we have seen with ISWAP, Boko Haram and ISIS.
“It will fester and it can really take on the kinds of dimensions that may turn out to be much more grave than we ever thought. We need to do a lot in that particular respect,” he said.
He expressed gratitude to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for their work in Nigeria over the years.
Osinbajo revealed his admiration about how USAID mastered the way of ensuring that there is a bottom-up approach and participation of beneficiaries.
“I think that accounts for a lot of the success that we are seeing in a good number of those programs. We really would want to thank the USAID”, the VP added.
In attendance were the VP’s Chief of Staff, Ade Ipaye; Foreign Affairs Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama; Minister of State, Industry, Trade and Investment, Mariam Katagum; US Ambassador to Nigeria, Mary Beth Leonard.
Others were Molly Phee, Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs; Dana Banks, Senior Director for Africa, National Security Council; Suzy George, Chief of Staff, State Department; Tom Sullivan, Deputy Chief of Staff; Kathleen FitzGibbon, Deputy Chief, US Mission Nigeria

Stormtrooper11: I don't believe German operated Leopard tanks are overrated. In as much that I feel that the Abrams and Leopard tanks ain't the best tanks in the world, I do believe they both rank high in having the highest tank protection.
Leopard 2A7 tanks failed in Syria because of the mode of deployment of the tanks by the Turkish Army.
Every modern tank is vulnerable. Especially against systems like the Javelin ATMG and AT 5 ATGM. The AT 5 was used by ISIS in Syria against Militaries. In fact, they were responsible for some of the destroyed tanks, including Turkish M60 Patton tanks. Other techniques employed by the insurgents include : VBIEDS and mines. I am of the opinion that, the Leopard tanks of the Turkish army are stripped down versions. Turkey uses the leopard 2, but not the leopard 2a7....I think they use leopard 2a4 , they had wanted to upgrade it, so that it can handle challenges in Syria better, but Merkel refused, because of the Kurdish people. |
