TheBillyonaire:
A man's role in the world is to suffer and fend for his family - his wife, his children, his relatives, himself and the society as best as he can.

If a woman has the desire to help out, by all means she can, otherwise she can chill, watch Netflix and have sex with her husband. A woman's role is bring happiness to her home, nurture the children and her husband and remain the queen of the empire and feminine energy of the universe.

Any man who insists that his wife must assist him, lowers himself and should be banished from gentlemen's club.
You can't really blame most men. Times are difficult and many are not confident in meeting up to the current demands of running a family.

A friend of mine lost a good woman because he was insisting she hustle too. This is a girl whom he caught young, who was raised soft and never hustled in her life. Back then, we warned him before and after their break-up. He was aware of how she was, but her softness blinded my guy. And he sent her packing after two kids and six years in marriage...

Funny thing is, the guy was earning more than a million as salary back then as he's a senior man in one of these aviation coys.

The hilarity of the whole matter was. It was another of his colleague that later wifed the girl and made her a comfortable house wife. The guy took our advice, got a supermarket and laundry businesses running but placed the girl as supervisor and manager, and they're living well.

My other guy is wallowing in regrets and stewing in self-pity as of today.

What I'm saying is: Your point is valid.

The value of a man mostly rests on his ability to provide for those who are his responsibility. And the value of a woman is in the nurturing of the home and assets built by the man. That's why men admire women who hustle and make money but the very day they find out you can't even boil egg without wounding the whole egg,... All attractiveness fades. They take the woman's money to go find someone who can nurture and even breastfeed them and their wards properly.. wink

I'm not even planning to ever get married, yet the mother of my daughter still calls me and I still spend on her.

Humans and wahala...

If you have enough, you won't be bothered too much about all these yéyé ideas.

Don't just condemn the government that the fuel subsidy has been reintroduced. Would you have done any better. It is easy to criticize.

Though fuel subsidy was initially removed, the devaluation of the Naira from and the international price increase of crude oil led to its £reintroduction". For the subsidy to be gone, petrol has to be deregulated. Government would no longer fix the price. It should simply abide by the same rules as diesel and kerosene. If the government should deregulate the price as I have suggested, the price of petrol would easily hit 900 or more per litre. It might lead to strikes.

If the official rate had stabilized at around 650 for a dollar, the subsidy would have gone.

The biggest problem is that the Tinubu has refused to come clean about the gigantic size of the economic malaise he has met. It is a complete mess. The foreign reserves are empty, probably won't cover 1 months of imports rather than the recommended 4 months.

There's no option but to turn to the IMF. They can provide the needed balance of payment support so that the economy can roar back faster to life. If the government is serious, it can repay the debt with 2 or 3 years.

We tried pegging the naira for donkey years.

Apart from beiing a means for round tripping, and also most people did not get the naira at the official rate....you can see it did not work. Most people , even back in the good old days before Buhari, preferred the parallel market.

Another reason why it did not work...oil prices were too low for Nigeria from April 2014 to 2021, and again from 2022 to date. Our oil revenue was bad during those days..especially in 2016 and during the covid period, when oil was as low as 24 dollars per barrel.

We don't earn enough dollars to keep naira at 180 to one dollar. That's why Nigerians should have voted out APC in Feb because of the failure to diversify our revenue streams.

And anyway, in reality/the real world...not in your preffered scenairo.....naira never stayed at N180, and no government was pegging it at N180 by 2016.Even Buhari with his multiple rates, the cheapest was above N200, IF NOT N300 self.

Also, fuel ain't cheap.
I'm essence, we can't effectively meet the requirements of pegging our currency.

$10b is quite a lot of money and it's obvious the money isn't available.

The government needs to need humble pie and do what's necessary, even if that means going to the IMF for short term assistance.

There's seems to be too much secrecy shrouding things. This secrecy has lead to a loss in investor confidence.

I'm sure the rot on the ground was worse than expected and the government has remained mute about lest it embarrasses the the past administration.

The government needs to start coming clean to retain trust. Stating the subsidy is gone while its still obviously in existence leaves a sour taste. Again, the FG wasn't prepared for how dramatic the Naira would fall, which would have led to the price of petrol reach heights that may test even the governments mettle.

It's time government comes clean and does what it should to reaasures the markets.
True..

There's a lot of work involved. And I will sincerely tell you that I don't have any trust in the FG. It's too obvious that they don't want to work or demand same from their subordinates. What with all the illegal taxation and all. They're comfy with that and it seems the people too are okay with it all, else.....

I strongly believe that any serious administration would weed out inactivity to further the set goals but what have we seen so far?

Now, fuel subsidy "the silent killer of our economy" has been silently reintroduced into the system. How confident can we now be about the December promise of a single refinery out of four to be active?

The govt should get out of the oil business already. They're doing a bad job.
