Tabasco23: well you have your experience and I have mine My experience is the same as the majority of people who spend time there. And that's regardless of race, gender, nationality, or ethnicity. Most people who say otherwise are flat out lying, dumb as rocks, or they don't speak the language. |

To each their own, but he sounds like a self-hating fool making excuses. I'm not dismissing his experiences at all, but he's acting like he escaped to paradise. Wait until he realizes that being abroad will make more "family" come out of the woodwork. And I sincerely hope he nor his sons ever have a less than pleasant encounter with the police simply for driving their own nice car.
I don't know why some people feel so compelled to say negative things about where they're from just because they moved. It's not healthy or normal. Don't put the sins of a few on an entire country. |

ananne: But is South Korea a good place for one to live and work? No. Aside the factory..does it mean blacks can't find good professional jobs? They're racist and almost completely ignorant about the world outside their country. What do you think? Is it easy to get a work visa even though one entered via a tourist visa? No. It's not a place you want to be unless you have no standards, or you're really dumb and don't know the difference. |

Eventually the UK will start doing regional immigration programs (probably mostly to Scotland). That will attract Nigerians, if the first group actually gets papers. But even that has its limits. The UK is tiny. You can fit all the british isles in Nigeria more than once. Nigeria has like triple its population. There's people all over the world trying to get in. Obviously, they're only letting so many people in. And their economy can only handle so much. |

Foreign Affairs › South Africans Direct Their Anger Where It Belongs: Oyinbos by Cousin9999(op): 3:49pm On Nov 01, 2020 |
The killing of Brendan Horner, a white man whose body was found tied to a pole at his farm in Free State province, sparked riots at the start of this month, and prompted President Cyril Ramaphosa to appeal to South Africans to "resist attempts ... to mobilise communities along racial lines".
The farmers outside the courthouse in the town of Senekal accused the government of failing to protect them from violent crime. Their opponents, from the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), complained about what they see as the continued domination of South Africa's economy by whites, while many Black South Africans remain as poor as they did under apartheid. https://www.google.com/amp/s/mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKBN2711NE |
Foreign Affairs › South Africa Plans To Empower Black Farmers With New Land Reform Process by Cousin9999(op): 3:38pm On Nov 01, 2020 |
The Department of Agriculture, Land Reform, and Rural Development (DLRD) announced that they will be releasing 896 state-owned farms for public purchase, or to lease over a period of 30 years.
In order to make sure that the land is used for farming purposes, the lease will be non-transferrable. The government aims to prioritise Black farmers in this process. https://www.globalcitizen.org/en/content/black-farmers-south-africa-land-reform-farming/ |

Travel › Re: Did You Know Anyone That Regret Relocating To Canada? Advise Pls. by Cousin9999: 1:20pm On Oct 30, 2020 |
You're quoting Indians to make your point. It's nonsense. Redberyl: This thread prompted me to do research about life for immigrants in Canada.
The Canadian dream we have been sold is just good PR by their government,in addition to some sweets thrown in (Free health care, free education, child support). All this is indirectly paid for by way of taxes. The unemployment rate is high, high cost of living and rent.
Now,on the relaxed immigration policies to Canada. The Canadian government isn't doing anyone a favour.Rather they are luring you in to build their workforce, increase their population and also generate a lot of revenue off the visa fees immigrants pay. The fact is this, the more persons that immigrate there, the more tax revenue the govt makes!
So many Nigerians don't do any research before moving there, they just want to escape from Nigeria.I will attach screenshots of persons living in canada as found on quora so everyone can know what to expect before moving there.
If you want to get a true picture of what life can be in canada,go on quora. Many are not saying the truth here on nairaland. It's not so rosy.
Imagine a Nigerian who left here, was living in a one bedroom basement apartment with his wife and 3 kids. Both of them work but can't make enough to get a bigger apartment. So they basically live from hand to mouth!
My thoughts are this: Canada is for persons who don't really have much going on for them here or persons who have made so much money, that even if they aren't making enough money there, they have savings to live off on. |
