It can’t fly and it hides during the day but a critically endangered large parrot is back in the limelight having been named New Zealand’s bird of the year for an unprecedented second time.https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/nov/16/kakapo-the-worlds-fattest-parrot-named-new-zealands-bird-of-the-year-for-2020 https://www.davisenterprise.com/files/2017/01/Vet-Paul-Murphy-parrotW.jpg https://i.pinimg.com/originals/55/35/5b/55355b2e4e68a25bf2d8ea8a24acf83b.jpg https://i.pinimg.com/474x/a2/89/fe/a289fed3910225bba81a9b40cc2cca8a.jpg I wonder how it tastes grilled. j/k |
The Lord wants us as His people to catch a vision of the incomparable importance of the church in its role of revealing the risen, ascended Christ. In order to catch that vision, we must understand the significance of Christ’s incarnation. Why is the church important? Because God has left it here to reveal His Son to the world, even as Jesus revealed God when He was on this earth. As the household of God, the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth, we are the current expression of Jesus Christ in the world until He comes. What a staggering job description! Nothing could be of greater importance! Maybe you’ve been turned off by bad experiences in churches that were institutional—where God dwelled only in name, but not in reality. You need to grasp a new vision of what God intends for His church, locally expressed, and commit yourself to this church. We need to make it happen right here, so that people will say, “I have seen the living God dwelling among His people.”https://bible.org/seriespage/lesson-11-why-church-important-1-timothy-314-16 |
Technically a church is only a building. Christians believe the creator lives everywhere. And frankly, many people avoid church not out of lack of faith, but because of problems with the congregation and religious leaders. People shouldn't be asking if it's a sin, they should be asking how they can improve service. Often our churches are maybe too social, or social in a bad way (and in conflict with the teachings of the religion). Most people just want to hear the word, study it, and receive guidance. Are churches doing this effectively? Also, we live in times when people work harder, and have more on their plate, so many choose alternatives like podcasts, YT, and/or independent study. Maybe more churches and leaders need to adapt. Those that shame sound out-of-touch and even a little suspect, like they want money or attention rather than to act as a religious leader, or like they care more about things other than religious pursuits. That said, we have to remember the role church plays in strengthening communities, and helping people spiritually, or in other ways. A major part of that is gathering for worship. No one should be shamed. Encourage and support. Make them appreciate the strength gained from others. ETA: I'm not sure if the Bible calls it a sin to not go, but clearly it describes it as important. |
There's no reason to use arabic on anything in Nigeria. There's no economic, marketing, competitive, or any other advantage. |
Be careful. Apparently, human trafficking is an issue there. https://www.theperspective.se/the-illegal-honeymoon-human-trafficking-in-the-maldives/ https://www.dol.gov/agencies/ilab/resources/reports/child-labor/maldives 2020 report: https://www.state.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/2020-TIP-Report-Complete-062420-FINAL.pdf |

If she wanted to be with him, she would. It sounds like this man is of means and still at least a little in love with her, or feels the need to protect her. It's not necessarily a bad thing or a threat. If that means you have guaranteed investment, just take advantage of it. There's any number of reasons people get investors, and this isn't uncommon. |

Why would you go to a restaurant and pay for some pasta? Get a real meal. Unless you're just buying it because it's cheap. |

That's common in cities and in countries with a liberal culture (regardless of how religious). In New York, Barcelona, London, Brazil, China, or Jamaica that wouldn't be controversial or strange. I suppose class plays a factor. Families of more means tend to monitor/control children more (because they often work less hours). They also try to make them fear having intercourse (using the threat of punishment or the threat of pregnancy). I don't think it makes someone a bad person at all. And certainly, you can't shame someone simply for engaging in normal consensual intercourse. Most people wouldn't want their kid to do that, but I don't think the kid should be shamed either if they do. That's more of an opportunity for parents to ask why the kid did it. Was it peer pressure or something else? |
