Performed better against Rafale than some F16s. English is not our mother tongue but this is simple enough to understand. Two single engined aircraft compared against Rafale. I am pretty sure not one of the late modeled F16s.

It was in Turkey, jf 17 vs Qatari Rafael....it was in wvr merge....the thing is that most of these scenarios aren't always combat realistic...but at least you learn something from other air forces.
There is speculation that Pakistani pilots have been flying qatari rafale jets, to know the aircraft better and even flown them in france( I can't remember the details), even before Indian jets were delivered and the Indians are protesting. In a realistic scenario, the Rafael would destroy the jf17

Just by looks at the data i strongly believe the Rafale is a better aircraft in all aspects - not even comparable to the JF-17. Can you elaborate what systems in the JF-17 has that are not present in the Rafale R4?

Beautiful beautiful analysis by Group Captain Shehu Sani. His explanation of the capability of the Tucano is one of the best, most thorough and yet simple analysis i've heard.

Like he rightly said Nigeria is not a rich country that can afford to buy every fancy jet that we hear about. We are fighting terrorists/bandits/ insurgents so we need something that will give us the best advantage to deal with these groups. From his technical analysis of what the Tucano is capable of it's clear as day that buying the planes looks to be a smart decision.

Nigeria is not fighting a conventional war that requires air supremacy against your adversary where the more expensive turbo jets would have come in. Hopefully in the future when the economy is doing much better and the threat of insurgency and terrorism finally ended we can take our time to make more strategic buys. From the observations of the Group Captain it seems we will have to buy a few more attack helicopters able to operate especially at night to really press home our advantage.

His analysis has also given me a better appreciation of why our Alpha jets have been crashing and not adequate. Sometimes when you hear of complaints of fighters jets not joining the fight to repel an insurgent attack one appreciates difficult in keeping some of these old planes in the air.

One can only hope and pray that our pilots fly the plane with the required skill and competence to finally help mortally wound all terrorists and insurgents.

What airforces please?. Those guys can't operationslise the jets at the level Nigeria is. Angola had the largest number of planes at one time but we observed Savimbi still kept advancing and nearly won the war.

Please check the Air-forces of S. Africa, Angola, Ethiopia, Kenya and Sudan before you make such a statement, unrivaled domination across West Africa a very big YES but Sub Saharan Africa a very big NO.
