On NFI Ins. and Intenational Energy Ins.

NFI Insurance was delisted following the merger with AIICO Insurance.
By this action, the number of listed companies and securities reduced to 211 and 309 respectively.

Share Reconstruction

The issued shares of International Energy Insurance were reconstructed in the ratio of 1:3.
The company now has issued shares of 5,505,223,528 shares listed at a price of N5.79 per share, down from 16,507,670,584 shares.

Meaning if you have 900k units before, you divide it by 3 i.e. 300k units

@Nairalanders

What's the take on Acorn pp?
I have some link to the owners but don't intend to invest enough to warrant trying to use my contact.
I was a part owner of a similar company which collapsed for various management reasons and inability to get products with the collapse of Nigerian refineries.
Concerned with the small margin of the business and all the brouhaha with any attempt to deregulate the downstream petroleum market.

Samstone4 cool cool
Acorn has been taking to the operation table couple of days ago on this thread, but unfortunately it died during the operation and the surgeon generals i.e. Wanaj0 and Windywendy has signed his death certificate. cheesy cheesy

It wont surprise me to see Acorn been oversubscribe at the end of the day, especially with so many JJC's on NSE nowadays, and with the title attached to the name Acorn “petroleum” this is enough to push the PP to high heaven.    grin grin

@ Ichie of all guru's (Wanaj0)

Just out of curiosity and concern, I'll like to know how far you have gone concerning CHAMS. Are you able to get the loan you are looking for? I really hope you do, so you can make the kill (as you always put it)

@ Stanchucks

Be careful with the way you use that name o (Ichie Wanaj0) because I am the one that owns the copy right and the name should not be abbreviated. It’s “Ichie of all guru’s”   grin grin

New EFCC Boss: Who Will It Be?

I'll suggest Gani Fawehinmi, although he is from the South too but we all know he is no supporter of PDP now OBJ.

So what do you think of thishuh

EFCC Declares Igbinedion Wantedhuh

I just can believe this, there was a time that I thought maybe Igbinedion was using juju (voodoo) on EFCC and Nigeria as a whole. If you visit Edo state during his tenure, without any iota of doubt you’ll conclude that he should be arrested and jailed immediately his immunity expires.

Btw, I have ransom money for anyone that knows his where about, the he-goat must not escape o, he must face the music.

How I wish the late Gen. Tunde idiagbon will be alive today and head EFCC just for 3 months and you’ll see what would have happen to all these thieves. I am angry jare!

@Wanaj0

I wont call you Filed Marshall because we are no more in the military era, so I’ll dub you with “THE ICHIE OF ALL GURU’S” (after all some one got to be the Ichie)

I need your help here, last week I was able to sell both my LASACO (gained about 124%), AFPRINT (230% profit) and yesterday my CAPOIL was sold too (with more than 1600% gain) , meaning I am fully loaded with cash (in my acct.) but don’t know which stock to buy especially with all these free falls.

I would have love the CHAMS PP but I am not in Nigeria and no one can cash the money out for me.

So Ichie of all gurus what is your advice?

Btw, I still keep to your strategy of not selling off the entire stocks o; I left about 15k units of LASACO and 30k units of CAPOIL.

You answered the question yourself. These are different industries. Every industry has it's own time of growth and this can be repeated. Banking will not grow at these rate forever. Things will cool.

Let us now look at it critically. Do you think the banks have had the highest rate of growth in Nigeria in the last couple of yearshuh It's all about the service industries. They are growing at an astronomical rate. I can name at least 5 non-banking companies that have outgrown the banks in terms of YOY PAT so what is this fuss about?? What does one expect after condensing all the banks in Nigeria to 25huh

Some banks are still struggling you know. It is not so easy to cook the books on top of nothing. UBA is paying dividents of N1.20 for every stock and Oceanic is paying N1.02. No be yam now.

I know you want to convince me to sell my UBA to you but I no go gree grin grin grin

Make you quick buy own before all these investors from Europe and Yankee go buy everything finish and list UBAN on NYSE wink
tongue You really caught me hands down on this one, UBAN on NYSE ( you are really something else) grin grin grin

Its 2:15am over here and for big man like me to be laughing so much by this hour can only be interpreted to something else. Abegi keep your UBA o o o o!!!

I guess you are so attached to these banks stocks (and all the goodies that comes with it) that you fail to trash the real question, how do the banks come by these profits when other sectors are not doing well? Nigerian economy did not measure up to what is happening in the banking sectors. Or are they listed on another planet than NSE?

Secrets behind banks’ huge profits

I just ran into this story today and I think of sharing it with you all especially peeps that are crazy about bank shares, I guess someone on this thread has asked this question before? How do the banks come by these profits when other sectors are not doing well?

Guys make una shine una eyes o shocked

Suddenly, we are back to the era of stupendous figures. If key performance indicators are not doubling or tripling, it is quadrupling. And just as one bank is rolling out astounding figures for one period, another is announcing some out-of-the-world results for the same or other periods. And these are usually heralded by a blitz of advertisements to properly situate and highlight the waltz up the performance chain.

The big question: How do the banks come by these profits when other sectors are not doing well? The surprising thing is that you hardly see much activity in some of these banks reeling out these mind-boggling figures. Where then lies their secret?

Looks like the bears have not gone too far. Most stocks lost today, almost all the insurance stocks lost some amounts today, just for a few. What can one say to NSE??
The bear has left the building for long; it’s the damages he left behind we are seeing now. My guess is that as from Wednesday, the dust will be cleared.

To every disadvantage there are some blessings, so na another chance to take postion bi dis.

@ Father of 2

I am not a good praise singer but I do recognise talents when I see one; Father of 2 you are right about your theory of Thursday and Friday profit takers. I doubted your talent at first (especially) yesterday when all the stocks were still green but to my greatest surprise today, more than halve of the stocks on NSE are in red. Majority of the greener ones all traded at a minimum percentage.

I guess pumping was right when he said you control the NSE from your bedroom.  grin

TV/MoviesRe: No More Igbo Movies: Why? by crazyT(m): 9:13pm On Jan 03, 2008
No More Igbo Movies: Why?

Because the producers of Igbo movies (those days) are the same producers of the English home movies (nowadays); they believe the English movies cut across more than Igbo language that is why they settled for English.

There was a period when the Yoruba movie maker’s wanted to join the English movies too but the Igbo marketers fought them with both tooth and nails claiming that the English genre is for the Igbo’s alone. (Though these claims are not pronounced openly, but all the players in the industry know this as a fact)

Ask TK (TundeKelani) and OGD (Tade Ogidan) they will tell you what they are going through in the hands of the Igbo marketers.  The marketers claim that the two (TK and OGD) should just stay with their parapo brothers and should not ventures into their territory.

Compliment of the season to you all, just got back from a long winter holiday in Germany.
The weather was wicked during the Xmas but thank God for the journey mercy.

Here under is the latest on Transcorp:

Transcorp: House May Ask NSE DG to Step Aside

In an effort to allow proper investigation into the affairs of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria (Transcorp), members of the House of Representatives have revealed that the Director General of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), who also doubles as the Chairman of Transcorp, Dr. Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke, may be asked to step aside in either of the two bodies.
Members of the House Committee on Capital Market confirmed to THISDAY in Abuja yesterday that, “the National Assembly wants to conduct a proper investigation on ‘the real people behind the Transcorp, the number of shares held and the cause of lack of performance in the system,’ which explains Onyiuke-Okereke’s invitation to appear before the lawmakers in Abuja.” ,

I think in your heart of heart you know the right answer to your question, but you are too naïve or gullible to accept the truth.

Just ask yourself what will happen if you ever got fired at your Oil coy and end up as an okada driver? Or rather if the CEO of your company made a pass at her, will she say no and stick with her man?

If you know answers to these questions then you are cured!!!
