Yar'adua emerged PDP flag bearer in the last election because Presidency was zoned to the North.this is a great sample of dirty mind and ridiculous state of mind. the same stupid mentality that represents the root of election rigging in nigeria. if south-south or south-east wants the next president of nigeria to come from their area, please kindly advise them to work hard and entice voters to elect someone from their area. long life democracy: nobody has the right to dictate or predict where the next president should come from. allow the great citizens of nigeria to cast their votes which ever way they desire. this is called democracy. presidential position is not honorary position; instead of wasting time/ energy dreaming, may be this is the right time for mikeansy and others to ask their people to work hard and discover a better way to contribute towards improving election practice in nigeria. again, nigeria is a country and not a village. |
Who Is Responsible?very simple question. and the answer is nigerians. |
let us forget yaradua and goodluck for a moment. let us take a good look at this stupid statement. "an easterner deserves to be the next nigerian president" i've heard this statement many times and i think it is the most ridiculous statement anyone could make. this is the same stupid mentality that brings down our election process whenever it's time to elect a leader. there is no need to predict who or where the next president should come from, this is democracy, whoever wins the election deserves to be the next president. becoming the president of nigeria is not and shouldn't be a gift to anybody from east, west, south or north. the easterners need to stop crying and find a better way to contribute toward improving our election practice in nigeria. back to yaradua and goodluck i personally wish our president well, but if anything should happen to him before the completion of his 4yrs term, without any question goodluck should immediately take over. this is our constitution and it must be acknowledged if we want our country to come out of darkness. |
i pray for everyone of us, including yaradua to have healthy long life. but in-case anything happens to our president before the completion of his 4years term, it has been spreading around that atiku might be the man to replace him, not good-luck. we all know that goodluck is as sharp as the other side of a cutlass, but still we must obey/embrace our constitution at all time; atiku and others should do what is right by supporting this administration no matter what happens. this isn't a military regime, but a democracy era. |
;d |
you're being ridiculous as usual. just in-case you did not know, the full story has not been released, therefore it makes no sense to speculate. i can also assure you that when the rest of the story is released, it wouldn't be on friday. yaradua may be slow, but the man doesn't play stupid game. yes, the constitution allows the president to take days off for personal or for medical purpose. |
there is crazy speculation currently spreading everywhere in abuja, that atiku is being positioned to replace yaradua. but according to our constitution, if necessary, i thought good-luck was supposed to replace yaradua. ![]() |
ribadu doesn't have 2 heads, he's a nigerian just like any one of us. let him go and defend himself and his careless operations during his time as efcc chairman. this is the only way we could accurately put together his good deeds. let's wait and see what he's going to come up with before jan 28 or on jan 28. ribadu as a bush-boy, i predict that he would be too busy studying political science at university of lagos, therefore, ribadu once again would avoid showing up on jan28. |
http://www.ngex.com/cgi-bin/frame/frameit2.plx?link="http://www.tribune.com.ng" Senators want EFCC, ICPC to probe el-Rufai Soji-Eze Fagbemi and Taiwo Adisa, Abuja - 22.01.2009 The Senate on Wednesday began debate on the report of its Committee on the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Housing on the investigation of the administration of the FCT from 1999 to 2007. The committee recommended that a former minister, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, be investigated for economic crimes by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) or the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). Besides, it recommended that the former minister be barred from holding public office because “he is not a fit and proper person to hold public office in a democratic set-up in future.” Presenting the report to the Senate on Wednesday, chairman of the committee, Senator Abubakar Sodangi, told the upper chamber that after assessing the activities of el-Rufai in his duties as minister of FCT, “we came to the inevitable conclusion that he should account for all funds collected by the ad-hoc bodies he raised during his tenure.” The committee also stated that the house he allocated to himself, where he signed as lessor and lessee, be revoked as it said a person could not sell an item to himself. The committee said “the appropriate government agencies should investigate Mallam Nasir el-Rufai for economic crimes and abuse of office in revoking and re-allocating lands to his wives and family members even when the lands were on waterlines or sewer line.” Reacting, counsel for el-Rufai, Mr. Bamidele Aturu, criticised the Senate for debating the report of its committee which probed the former minister, saying the decision was in contravention of the rule of law. Aturu, in a statement on Wednesday, said the decision to debate the report of the committee, even when a suit was pending in a court, was in violation of the rules of the Senate |
why will you allow sentiment to becloud your sense of judgements? Granted that Ribadu comitted some errors while at EFCC, is there any law that state that once you make mistake all you good deeds must be discountenanced, even when your good deeds far outnumber your mistakes on a balanced scale?wrong statement. we can not accurately put together ribadu's good deeds as efcc chairman without him coming out like a man to confront all these unanswered questions. and this is the point. ribadu will be properly judged when we have all necessary information regarding his operations as efcc chairman, till then, the difference between alams and ribadu is not much. this is all based on the info that we have at this time. may be it's time for ribadu's supporters to encourage him to come out like a man and a great citizen of nigeria to defend himself. |
With regards to my appearance before the president in plain clothes, please be informed that neither the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) nor any person or body instructed me to appear in official uniform. Furthermore, I was not on official police duty during the said visit.here comes ribadu drafting his own personal rules and regulations. the dumbest bush-boy around. |
latest development, atiku and obasojo have decided to let go the past and move forward. they both spent most of today together and publicly made it clear that the past is gone. so, my question is: who is the biggest fool around in nigeria today? pumped up, used and then dropped like a used toilet paper. |

my darling mikeansy: is that all you got? |
the interesting part of your answer is the fact that it'spretty much identical to the answers given by other blind ribadu's supporters. but i still respect your opinion, even-though it's clearly trifling. |
I advice cre8tivity to post something good and beneficial for the lovely people of Nairaland to read and equally send their replies. Enough of all these Ribadu stuff cos he is not the only person that has been treated like this in Nigeria. Others are out there without anyone speaking for them, go and check the records,as soon as ribadu comes out like a man and answer all questions surrounding his operations during his time as efcc chairman, he would be left alone. i would even get him his new job. till he comes out clean, the man will not rest. and i think any great citizen of nigeria should feel the same. just in-case you did not know, 75% of ribadu's supporters in nigeria today feel this way. every single corrupt officials should be treated the same. this is the only way to come out of darkness, or else we would witness many other nigerians in future wearing ribadu's dirty mask. 17b dollars power supply fund got lost under ribadu's watch and some people still find nothing wrong with this individual. i just don't get it. |
http://odili.net/news/source/2009/jan/17/11.html Ribadu sneaks out again Action Splits Family By Muyiwa Adeyemi, Lagos and Lemmy Ughegbe , Abuja IT is still not the best of time for the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC), Malam Nuhu Ribadu. From both the home front and before the federal authorities, the odds appear to be against him. And he is not taking chances. The Guardian learnt that his travails have split his family members, with some insisting that he remains in the country while others endorse his immediate exit. Faced with a divided home, the dismissed police officer is said to have left the country without notice early this week. And before the Federal High Court, Abuja, the Federal Government wants his dismissal from the Nigeria Police as Deputy Commissioner of Police to be declared irreversible. The Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa (SAN), who is at the forefront of this legal campaign, prayed the court yesterday to quash the suit instituted by Ribadu, challenging his dismissal from the Police. But a source said Ribadu who went into hiding when pressure on him from federal agents became intense, quietly left the country through one of Nigeria's boarders early this week. He foreclosed Ribadu's chances of going to Britain, as according to the source, that country turned down his application for political asylum. But another source claimed yesterday evening that Ribadu was in the United States of America (USA). Before he left Nigeria, the source said some members of his family wanted him to stay in the country and clear his name of any wrong doing while another section led by his elder sister, identified as Zainab advised him to leave for "the safety of his life." But his younger brother, Alhaji Sani Ribadu, who is the chairman of Yola South Local Council was said to have led the family members who insisted that Ribadu should stay at home since "he has no skeleton in his cupboard." According to a family source, who pleaded for anonymity, "some of us did not want him to go; he told us he did not do anything wrong while in the service of the EFCC and we strongly believe him." The Police Service Commission (PSC) had last December dismissed Ribadu after demoting him from the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police to Deputy Commissioner of Police, for alleged gross misconduct. The former EFCC boss is however challenging his dismissal and demotion in court. The Minister of Police Affairs, Dr. Ibrahim Lame, had on Monday said his dismissal was final as the Federal Government was not ready to revisit the matter. Aondoakaa had justified his plea by averring that Ribadu was dismissed on the premise of acts of gross misconduct and indiscipline unbecoming of any senior police officer. His prayer was contained in a notice of preliminary objection, seeking to terminate Ribadu's suit and filed on his behalf by Mr. Simon Egede. In the affidavit in support of his preliminary objection, Aondoakaa submitted that although opportunity was given to Ribadu by the Police Service Commission (PSC) to respond to allegations of wrong doing levelled against him, he failed to take advantage of it. He added that even though Ribadu responded to some of the queries, he disregarded the PSC's summons to appear in person before it. Consequently, the minister asked the court to strike out the case on the grounds that the action did not follow due process and that the principal complaint of the plaintiff, which is the alleged infringement on his fundamental right to fair hearing as guaranteed by Section 36 (1) of the nation's constitution was untenable as nobody denied him that right. Aondoakaa, who contended that the action does not relate to construction of a written law or of any instrument made under any written law to warrant its commencement by originating summons as provided for by Order 2 Rule of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2003, averred that the action was "incompetent and an abuse of court process." In a counter affidavit deposed to by Abdul Ter Kohol, a special assistant to the AGF, he averred that the plaintiff was afforded ample opportunity of being heard by the 1st defendant acting through all its agents, servants and privies. He chose to reply to some of the queries but ignored the summons to appear in person for oral hearing before the committee. Ribadu had through his counsel, Tayo Oyetibo (SAN) gone to court to challenge his dismissal by the PSC on December 23, 2008 on the grounds that the action was illegal, unconstitutional, null and void, arguing that he was already in court challenging his demotion to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police. The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Abdullahi Mustapha has fixed January 20, this year for hearing. |
as usual, questions weren't answered, but i'm not surprised at-all. it was expected. even ribadu himself finds it very difficult to confront some of these questions. it is very popular and a common sense: "you do not endorse a man you do not know" mr. mkren, i'm sorry to inform you with confidence that "you do not know ribadu" therefore, you do not know what you're talking about. i'm afraid. |
mKren: please forget yaradua and the ag at least for now, let us take a close look at ribadu. what do you thnk about ribadu? is he guilty of anything? what would you have done differently if you were wearing his shoes as the chairman of efcc and as a student in jos? |
how stupid could one be? ribadu pretty much crucified himself. he's a senseless bush boy. |
how could one prosper if all he or she sees and thinks is negative? it's very simple: how are we doing in nigeria compare to 2 years ago? you might not agree with yaradua 90% of the time, but the difference is clear. the governors are more focused and the path to greatness is clearer. in case you did not know, the number of investors returning or looking into coming to nigeria to invest has gone up by 34%. and the number of nigerians returning back home has also gone up drastically. something's wrong with you if you can not see anything positive taking place in nigeria today. |
http://www.ngex.com/cgi-bin/frame/frameit2.plx?link="http://www.sunnewsonline.com/" Ribadu guilty of gross misconduct —Aondoakaa • AG asks court to strike out ex-EFCC boss’ case From GODWIN TSA, Abuja Saturday, January 17, 2009 The Federal Government has explained that former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Mallam Nuhu Ribadu was dismissed from the services of the Nigerian Police Force over acts bordering on gross misconduct. Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Michael Aondoakaa (SAN), made the clarification before a Federal High Court through his notice of preliminary objection he filed against the suit brought before the court by Ribadu over his dismissal. Aondoakaa said although the plaintiff (Ribadu) was given ample opportunity to respond to allegations of wrong doing leveled against him, he chose to reply to some of the queries but ignored summons to appear in person for oral hearing. Meanwhile, the Attorney General is asking the court to strike out the case on the grounds that the action was not filed in accordance with due process, adding that the principal complaint of the plaintiff was alleged infringement of his fundamental right to fair hearing as guaranteed by Section 36 (1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 in that he was not afforded an opportunity of being heard by the Police Service Commission (1st defendant). The minister maintained that the action does not relate to construction of a written law or of any instrument made under any written law to warrant its commencement by originating summons, as provided for by Order 2 rule of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2003. He averred that the action is incompetent and an abuse of court process. In a counter affidavit deposed to by Abdul Ter kohol, a Special Assistant to the AGF, he averred the 1st defendant (Police Service Commission) was established by Section to the Constitution 1999. He further averred as follows: • That I know as a fact that by paragraph 30 (a) and (b) of part 1 of the third Schedule to the Constitution, the 1st defendant has power to appoint persons to offices in the Nigeria Police Force (other than the office of the Inspector General of Police) and to dismiss and exercise disciplinary control over persons holding any office in the Nigeria Police Force. • That I know as a fact that the plaintiff is one of several officers commissioned into the Nigeria Police Force as Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP). The plaintiff enjoyed promotion along with his course mates up to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police and they were all at par, • That I know as a fact that in 2003, the plaintiff had been promoted to Assistant Commissioner of Police and in 2006 to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police. One year later, he was again promoted to Assistant Inspector General of Police. • That I know, as a fact, that all the promotions mentioned in the above paragraph were done without the input and approval of the 1st defendant, in violation of the constitution and the Police Service Commission (Established) Act, 2001. • That I know, as a fact, that it was in view of the above that the plaintiff, along with about 140 other police officers, who had been irregularly promoted were reverted to their lawful ranks by the 1st defendant. • That I know, as a fact, that all the affected police officers accepted the decision of the 1st defendant in good faith and reverted to their ranks, but the plaintiff chose the path of blackmail, insubordination and court actions contrary to Police regulations and discipline. • That the 1st and 2nd defendant (Inspector General of Police) gave the plaintiff an opportunity to be heard, by issuance of queries to him setting down the allegations of wrong doing and misconduct and requesting his explanation in writing as admitted in the plaintiff’s affidavit in support of his originating summons. • That I was informed by Sabo Ibrahim Ringim, CP Legal, Force Headquarters, at his office on January 15th 2009 at 11 am and I verily believe as follows: • That the plaintiff was confronted in writing with allegations of wrong doing and asked to explain in writing, which he did. * That the plaintiff was summoned to appear before the force Disciplinary Committee on December 4, 2008 to make representation on the allegations of misconduct against him but he refused and neglected to appear. That adjourned sitting to December 12, 2008 to give the plaintiff another opportunity to appear before it, and he was duly informed, but again he refused and neglected to appear. • That in the circumstance the said committee had no other choice but to act on the facts before it and forward its recommendation to the 1st defendant for necessary action. • That the 1st defendant’s action in dismissing the plaintiff from service was predicated on the queries issued to the plaintiff and his written explanations, obvious acts of misconduct, and recommendations of the Force Disciplinary Committee set up by the 1st defendant. • That all the actions taken by the 2nd defendant (IGP) and the committee were at the instant of the 1st defendant in line with the Police Act, the Police Service Commission (Establishment) Act 2001 and Other Police Regulations and Guidelines. He said the plaintiff was afforded ample opportunity of being heard by the 1st defendant, acting through all its agents, servants and privies, adding that he chose to reply to some of the queries but ignored the summons to appear in person for oral hearing before the Committee. |
i guess the joke is on u then. cos i was only joking myself.lol nice come back, real nija man. |
cre8tivity, on an awesome day i would have responded to ur jibe. but i need to conserve energy for better things so i'll simply allow u to keep shooting off at the mouth, thinking u r talking.cool down, that was a joke. i just wanted to ensure that you're reading my post. now, it is confirmed and i'm very happy about it. no need to get hot, it was only a joke, i usually don't disrespect people. i think boss got the joke. |
back to the subject: if our president needs medical attention, let him go get it. we can worry about other things later. the man is a human being and not a machine. healthy president = healthy nigeria. |
That signature does not make me think she's a man but rather that she resides in America. Onthe flip side of the coin, I think she's the best citizen Nigeria can ever offer (in terms of patriotism and seeing positives and being blind to the negatives).my favorite boss in town: this is not correct. i'm pretty much aware of our severe deficiencies in nigeria, but it is all about the registration in our heads. if we continue to register negativity images about our country, what else is left? what exactly could we benefit from just talking down about nigeria? i think the best that could come out of it is exactly what is currently taking place as we speak "people running out of the country while others stay far away from home kissing ass" (must_a_far and boss, respectively). We should use america as our study case: as things are becoming very difficult and extremely unbearable in usa, what do you think the citizens would do about it? do you think they would run out of their country? do you think they would talk down about their country? even with bush being a stupid president/ administration, i hardly find an american talking bad or criticizing his or her country. you must embrace your country at all time and show others (outsiders or insiders) that this is your home regardless of what tomorrow brings. and this is also when politicians would honestly take us more serious. it makes no sense to continue to beat the dead house, let us find a way to wake him up. |
I shot the sheriff and the m-fucking deputy.mikeansy: i shot the sheriff and the m-fucking deputy signifies "no selectivity" and "no to ribadu" diamonds are forever signifies my state of mind when i look at my bling bling on my finger. it brings joy and happiness. it's ok to be cre8tive sometimes, you do not have to spell things out all the time. |
mikeansy: for the last time, i'm not bigb. i do not see God posting anything on this forum, therefore, i'm not afraid of anything or anybody. certainly, no need to change my name. i can handle myself very well. no disrespect to big. |
Darling boss: you know i'm not afraid to stand by my statement. this is how i see things, it is also ok for others to see the same things differently. but most people that live in nigeria would tell you that things are better today in nigeria than 2 yrs ago, when mr. president's |
i do not see any big deal. being healthy is priceless, if the man needs medical assistance, let him go get it. i don't even care if it takes 8 months. you need a good health to be able to function well. with all the unclosed deals/rubbish the previous administration left behind, i still feel that yaradua is doing ok. things are starting to change for better, our constitution is now being embraced more than before, we are now seeing many new development all over the country and investors are now returning back to invest their money. it is a matter of time, nigeria will be back on the map like those old beautiful days. again, if the man needs medical trip, let it be. afterall he's still the president of this country. please, do not let us make big deal out of this new development. |
