What I don't understand is why the ID card of a thing will stay for more than a year without you receiving it. If the equipments are available, it shouldn't take beyond a week or two to get d original ID
You clearly don't understand the mandate of NIMC, and you are not following the project closely. The ID card is the end result but there is so much more behind the scenes.

With all due respect, the DG himself is not free from fraud. As the last recruitment exercise was fraudulent many people risked their lives on expressway journeying for a standard they all thought was right from far and near through far distance but at the end the whole system was biased, fraudulent, mischievous, and damaging. Majority of the successful candidates came from a particular zone/state. So can someone tell me what parameter was used? The DG cannot claim ignorant of this fact.
You mention the DG himself is not free from fraud, where is your evidence or are you one of those that go by what you saw on the news or what you have been told, I know people who went for recruitment exercise. It was free and fair. Tell us the zone where the successful candidates came from, again show us proof. All the parameters they used for selection is on the NIMC website, I bet you didn't bother to check it

PoliticsRe: Economic Realities: The Way Forward For President-elect Muhammadu Buhari by CriticalThought: 3:58pm On May 07, 2015
In this GMB first term, here are some things he should consider

State Police
Let each state manage their own police force, Doing that ensures that the FG no longer controls police to do their bidding. Instead state governments do that and if they are not performing, you know it’s the governor of your state that should be blamed. It also means that the police come from the individual community, so if they misbehave, you know where they live

Excess crude account for all states
Yes we have one already now, but I am talking of ECAs managed individually by the state. Just imagine once we sell the oil, all states get a share, and obviously oil-producing states get a bit more. No states are dependent on the other and no governor has to beg the President, the money in the ECA should be only for rainy days and infrastructure development. The money left over from the state each year is split in half, one half goes into the FG ECA

NASS salary reduction
This is going to be difficult but can be achieved with political will. APC is in control of the house, senate and presidency. If this is not done now, it may never be done. The NASS budget rivals a lot of state budgets; this should not be the case.

Eliminate minister of state portfolios
I don’t think I need to explain this one.

Fixing the refineries
We have oil under out feet but we move it abroad and then refine and bring it home to sell for a higher price. Why are we doing this to ourselves? Fixing the refineries means a lot of high paying jobs, a booming economy, reduce oil prices for us and more oil we can export. Best of all, no more fuel scarcity

War against Indiscipline
This must be implemented in the right manner. EFCC and ICPC must be properly funded and they should be autonomous in their operations reporting only to the president and ministry of justice. All past and present politicians must be probed, if they are afraid of jail, all monies must be returned and they must sign an undertaking that no one from their family line will enter public office for at least 2 generations.

Monetary limits in political campaigns
There is too much money in politics and whoever has the most buys the government. Dangote and Otedola will always have a bigger say in how Nigeria operates than the rest of us. 70% of Nigerian live in abject poverty, by implication they have managed to silence 70% of Nigerians, make it an equal playing field for everyone, rich people and corporations shouldn’t have a greater say in how the rest of us live our lives

Remove Federal Character
In as much as we are a diverse country. The concept of federal character ensures the right person will not always be picked for the job. This hurts all of us. We are playing a global game against other countries; only the best and brightest should represent all of us. At the end of the day, it is all of us that will benefit from it.

No more subsidies
This could be done before or after refineries have been fixed. This will bring immediate hardship but we will be better for it in the long run. Oil cabals have been stealing money this way for years

Limits on all political office positions
The former generation cannot continue to control the upcoming generation. Let each generation have say in the world in which they plan to live in. Old folks should think about retirement and let vibrant young men and women lead us forward while the statesmen and women provide guidance.

Create an Environmental Protection Agency
This is important, our lands have been decimated by oil spills plus we have pristine lands that should be looked at as national treasure. This agency should spend their time going after companies dumping toxic stuff in our country while also protecting our health and environment

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Has Ruined The Economy, APC Governors Cry Out by CriticalThought: 8:04pm On May 05, 2015
Enough with the conflict baiting headlines. Everyone knows the economy is bad but you want to attribute it to one person. Let us stop pretending like this economy spoilt in 2007, it was bad way before then

What is APC scared of, you will have the chance to fix it, maybe they are lining up their excuses already for when they dont perform.

We are all witnesses. Good day everyone
PoliticsRe: FG Warns Buhari Against Running Parallel Government by CriticalThought: 7:35pm On Apr 29, 2015
gateleo:
Oga can you explain how GMB acts? is it a crime to visit President elect? Only time will tell....
GMB is not the issue here, what is the issue is that other Nations dignitaries are acting like GMB is running the country and GMB is allowing it, that is perceived as a parallel government. GMB can simply come out and say, no meetings with foreign entities until after May 29th. What they are doing only continues to further undermine a sitting president whether they choose to see it or not.

GMB knows there's a lot of things to be dealt with. The Power Privatisation thing is also a cover up like the NNPC. u would marvel at things when the PHCN is revisited by the incoming govt. Heard they bought it amongst themselves.
meanwhile, if this is coming from Atiku then, the end of the world is at hand. God is watching.
If done right, power privatization is a good thing. government hands have been on this thing since the days of our elders, there has been no progress, let private companies(legitimate) handle it

Just include a bit of government oversight so they dont get carried away with billing etc

If Buhari goes after GEJ and actually finds a way to throw him in prison then that means they want to set the country on fire. The SS and SE will not let it slide

Obsanajo, IBB, Danjuma, Saraki, Tinubu etc are still walking freely and you only probe GEJ, good luck explaining it to the country

PoliticsRe: Missing $20 Billion: What If Sanusi Lied? by CriticalThought: 8:19pm On Apr 27, 2015
The Nigerian masses are being hoodwinked. Do you know what it means for $20 billion to be "missing". I doubt that is the correct figure but I have no evidence to back up my claim. My suspicions is that the number was inflated to make the GEJ administration look more incompetent that it already is.
PoliticsRe: Missing $20 Billion: What If Sanusi Lied? by CriticalThought: 8:15pm On Apr 27, 2015
jusRadical:
Assuming that Buhari after assuming office, probes the issue of the 'missing' $20billion and discovers that it is all lies (though I reckon that Buhari knows the truth about the issue), what will be the atmosphere in Nigeria?
Then it will be very clear that the intention was to undermined the GEJ administration and they succeeded in it. The average Nigerian will not believe whatever GMB says unless that $20 billion has been found or some political titans , obasanjo level and above are in jail
PoliticsRe: $20bn Oil Money: Editor Who Gave Clues Flees Nigeria After Assasination Attempt by CriticalThought: 8:13pm On Apr 27, 2015
A lot of people keep talking like Diezani is the problem, you are all being distracted. She is only playing by the rules of the game while trying to bring positive change. Buhari can probe whoever he wants to, but if he goes after Diezani, it will not be because she did anything wrong but because they want to use her as a scapegoat. I am not saying she is innocent, but lets be serious, there is IBB, Obasanjo, Tinubu, Danjuma, Saraki and yet people think Diezani is the problem

Yea I know! Must it always cone from the north? We all know if buhari hadn't won, there would have been brimstone already in every part of the country. If another northerner was in place of buhari, same thing would have happened. It's really hard for them tolerate, we are just trying manage this marriage, because if everyone go crazy the way they are going, nigeria will be burning right now.
Quite frankly, the conditions on which Nigeria was built is shaky, It will always continue to be that way if the North acts like its a do or die. What even surprises me the most about their actions is how they spend so much time wanting to control the country but their states are decimated financially, educationally and environmentally.

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: IROKOtv Signs Netflix Partnership Deal by CriticalThought: 7:24pm On Apr 17, 2015
manny4life:
Lol, why you hating on my comment?
Before you spread false information any further, let's get one thing straight. Did you say Netflix has moved into the original content space? Lmao... This shows that you have no idea of what Netflix is, let alone their model. Bros, Netflix is nothing but a media streaming / dvd rental service. They are not even distributors let alone original content providers... What Ganja are you smoking? huh

If at all we are to talk about Original Content, that's strictly for cable and channel providers... Netflix is only but service used to deliver the content.

Lol at On-demand A la Carte... Is Netflix the only service to provide On-demand? undecided undecided

Bros, even my Cable provider (Comcast), the LARGEST Network, has On-Demand... So kini big deal about On-Demand? Cable providers such as Dish, Comcast, DirecTv, and all of them have On-Demand. In fact, depending on your subscription, you get HBO, Starz, and other movie streaming service. So I ask again, what's different from Netflix?

Did you say they are ahead of the game? How so? When you can't negotiate for current titles and release, please tell me how you're ahead of the game? huh

Everyone who's a Netflix subscriber can attest to the fact that Netflix has been losing it lately. After they split their service, it became worse than before. Granted they have improved on media delivery infrastructure, but what's the point if you have titles from the 1600's ? embarassed

Lol... These are shows a DVR can record. With my subscription, I don't need Netflix. For instance, HBO's Game of Thrones comes with my Comcast Subscription. This is made NEXT DAY, not a week later, NOT a month later, but same day. Abegi, when it comes to shows, leave that niche to the cable providers because they make it instantly available after showing. Netflix CANNOT compete on that front. NETFLIX competes with movies because it's more so distribution right, but heck, they ain't doing better either. RedBox has a better selection than Netflix in terms of disc rental. Netflix cannot compete with Redbox on this and you know it. Ask anyone who has used or using both service.

The only good that comes out of this deal is that Netflix will offer a selection of African Titles, NOTHING MORE.

I make no apologies when I say Netflix has lost it's old glory... I am happy they partnered with IROKO Tv because Netflix is faced with multiple competitors and a little twist might just work a magic.
Why would I hate on your comment? There is nothing to gain or lose. We all have better things to do. If you think I have no idea of the model used by Netflix that is your own cup of tea.

Netflix will always have issues when it comes to availability of current seasons, licensing cost keep going up and there are only so many deals they can make with production companies. Netflix does not operate with Nielsen ratings like others do out there plus there is no ad money coming in but what they have is exclusive most of the time, where else are you going to find “the killing”, “orange is the new black” etc. That is original content and they must keep cranking out such shows to increase their consumer base.

To make the statement that Netflix is ONLY a delivery medium shows your limited knowledge on Netflix and shows in their catalogue. They are also in the original content business

As side note, ganja is not my thing, if it is yours, carry on.

Cable providers all have on-demand as well, so there is nothing special about it. What you need to understand is that Netflix is not for everybody. Its consumers know that they will not have the latest titles but they don’t need to spend half their time watching commercials plus the price point is more reasonable compared to Comcast, TWC etc

You talk about Netflix losing its glory but its US subscribers broke through 40 million (WSJ) for the first time. Internationally it broke through to 20 million (WSJ). Its shares are up 13% to $537.24 after hours as of Wednesday. If we look at video quality, Netflix and Hulu Plus stream at 1080p HD, Redbox 720p. If we look at mobile apps and devices delivery, redbox is not on gaming consoles, apple tv or even roku but Netflix is.
All the providers have their strengths and weaknesses but ultimately the consumer decides when, where, how and what content they want.
