As for me, I have reservations about dating men from other Nigerian tribes. Especially as an Igbo woman. The perception among Nigerians is that inter-tribal dating is a smudge to women and a blight on the woman's culture.

The way many men of other tribes go on as if Igbo women are cheap prostitutes for Nigerian men disturbs the crap out of me. A few weeks ago I was hit on by an Hausa guy and literally felt my skin crawling with disgust when I thought of the hateful diatribes against Igbo women by others here in NL and other sites. Needless to say I brushed him off there and then.

When I observe pictures of inter-tribal weddings in Nigeria the bride is almost always an Igbo lady. Why? This is very bad trend to me.

Bororojo has a point in sticking to one's culture. This is even more important for girls given Nigeria's harsh climate towards women general.

I now tend to discourage inter-tribal dating for most of my friends. The negative perceptions especially if you are female outweighs the positives, IMO. I commend the Fulanis for understanding this perceptive fact and I wish Igbos would catch on quickly. Marriage and politics in Nigeria cannot be divorced.

Ladies (regardless of tribe) If a guy outside your culture is not available, then go for a non-Nigerian. Inter-tribal dating in Nigeria is a no-no and not worth the stress to me.

Don't let your petty foolishhness cloud your better judgement please. So because of how you percieve hausa guys on the interwebs is shady you then translate it to real life? Whats wrong with you. hey people, you are taking what i said about exchanging babes too seriously. It was joke please. Though i still stand firm on liking other tribes. That doesn't mean i don't like girls of my tribe(far from it). 2. We lack basic portable water supply. Don't make the mistake of thinking the one we have is it, ITS NOT
3. We lack an integrated networked transportation system
4. We lack the most basic quality food chain. Have you ever seen a standard abatiors in nigeria? 99% of nigerians by meat displayed in the open
5. We lack a harmonised system of taxation. You are either double taxed, not taxed at all or something
6. We lack a communications satelite. How then can the government establish a secure defense comm. system, and a civilian comm. system?
7. We lack a true national database

Am even getting more frustrated at the hopeless nigerian situation as am typing. so am gonna stop here. Believe nigeria lacks almost everything, we are truly fu..ck..ed

According to what he is saying, a mixture of fulani and other tribe will produce a rimbe offspring, in other words a lower class offspring, an impure offspring. And if there is one thing i will like to change about my people, its exactly this. That intolerance and looking down on other tribes, the tribalism and considering of other tribes as lower class or impure people, when infact the fulani tribe itself is as a result of inter tribal mixing between berbers/arabs and the african tribes of the sub sahara.
Furthermore, i will not sugarcoat anything and will say it as it is, that uptill this day, the older generation fulanis and a few younger ones still exibit this problem, my family included. You may not believe this but your reasons for claiming asylum is not good enough, if your life is in danger Canada is not the next safest country to Nigeria, there are many states in Nigeria that is safe and cheaper for you to move to. If the govt and bh are hunting for your life than you will be a security risk to any country because its hard to understand why you are wanted by both govt and bh.

Couple of months ago a Nigerian who came to the UK to claim asylum with almost the same reason as you have stated was deported. He was on hunger strike for many days, his lawyer tried, people protested but all failed because they don't want to open the flood gate for people to use the crisis in Nigeria to claim asylum, if one is given then it will be used as a precedent by other prospective asylum seekers.

For get about what you read online, the reality is parallels to that.

1. If my reasons are not good enough, then which kind of reason is good to seek for asylum? I thought the whole point of the asylum thing is to protect people whose lives have been endangered?

2. As to "there is many safe states in nigeria", which state is REALLY safe in this country? I won't feel safe anywhere in nigeria period. As to nearby countries? Is it cameroon, or Niger, or chad or benin rep that you want me to run to? which kind of life will i have there? life is even more harsher and dangerous in those countries than in the nigeria i am trying to run away from.

3. Well as to why i might feel threatened by bh, have you read where i wrote i helped the civilian JTF before? I am not wanted by the government, i just feel that i have to watch my back because i am an avowed critic of the govt. on different sites. Plus how can i be a security risk to a country am seeking asylum in because i feel threatened in my own country. it doesn't make sense. Further more, if according to you i should opt for a safe neigboring country rather than canada, then somalis have kenya as a safe next door country, iraqis have saudi/Jordan/Turkey, e.t.c but they all go seeking for asylum in far away norway or sweeden and they are offered asylum. 4. the nigerian that was deported might have falsified his claim, he might be from a safe state but claimed to be from a war zone. Make no mistake, where i am from is definately a war zone, just a few weeks ago a european was kidnapped in my region by bh. And i have documents to proove that am from there.

Alright thanks. I actually made some research about the whole thing even from the canadian immigration website, and from what i understand, its relatively easy. Just find a way to the country(which am working on now, hence why i keep asking questions on that), then report yourself to their immigration department with a genuine case, and if they ascertain that your case is real and genuine, they will grant you asylum without qualms. and since i believe my case is genuine, i will try my best. The truth is, this baseless issue of 'I am this or that' in my church has left plenty girls single uptil the age of 30 and still counting. Personally I feel if two people actually love each other, church affiliation shouldn't even be an issue.

In the days of old, when a lady leaves her parents to her husband, everything of his' becomes her's. His name, where he worships and the lots. My dad is an elder in my church, an old and respected one for that matter. But we'll be going for my sister's white wedding in Sept, in a catholic church. He will be steping his foot in a catholic church for the first ttime.

But i agree with you that if the wife didn't follow the husband's religion, then no matter how much they love each other, there's bound to be a conflict of interests in the future. Which religion will the children follow? And if you mumu enough to agree to the "lets allow the kids to choose for themselves" then you'd have no one to blame, as you should be rest assured that your kids will get religious and behavioural training from their mother, therefore its highly likely that children follow their mother's religion instead of the dad's. Thats why i had to call off my relationship with the love of my life(who happens to be a christian girl, i am muslim myself) when she refused to convert. She was so insistent that we marry each other without one of us converting, and that she agrees that our kids will be raised as muslims, i knew better, i knew she was just talking out of love, out of emotion, i knew she would very likely change her mind in the future, she would most likely secretly be teaching my kids christianity e.t.c So i thanked god i realized earlier on that it just can't work if both spouses are different religion or denominations, one has to change .

Hey guys, can anyone with experience guide me on how to seek for asylum in canada. I can source for the money to take me there, i plan to apply for a tourist visa that will sponsor myself(i hope the who is your sponsor question will not arise when i tell them am sponsoring myself). Plus am currently unemployed so how do i explain how i can afford the trip and that i can sustain myself. I plan on getting the money by selling a piece of land i own. 4. They commited Genocide in Jeruselem during the crusades
5. They commited several more genocides on the red indians, hispanic populations, and african tribes in the name of missionary work
6. 99.9% of prostitutes in Nigeria are christian girls, who go to church on sundays
7. Even though alcohol is prohibited by the bible, 99% of drinkers in bars and clubs are bible wielding, church going christians
8. If christians prayed truly the way "Jesus" and other prophets prayed, it will be exactly the way muslims pray today, complete with ablution, prostration e.t.c
9. It is known fact that the vatican is hiding the most original bible in existence, rather choosing to spread the corrupted ones to people

5. SOUTHERN NIGERIAN CHRISTIANS ARE Not happy in their homeland, But are happy in dubai, malaysia, turkey, indonesia, cyprus, EVEN IN NORTHERN NIGERIA all of which are muslim lands. They leave their messed up regions and go to sucessful muslim lands, and try to turn it to the same messed up regions they left behind. Libya, Syria, Iraq, Palastine, Algeria e.t.c are all in this situation because christians put them there not because of islam. And all of those countries can be considered relatively developed as they never see power outage, or water shorttage, they got good infrastructure, quality govt services, quality lifestyles even in war turn Syria. The same christians risk the sahar desert just to go to Libya and morroco both islamic countries, both developed.
6. Thanks to the Ottoman Empire(a muslim authority) bathing became normal in europe, the whities only showered once or twice a year before that.
7. Thanks to islam that encourages trade, and muslim traders, europeans for the first time ate good food cooked with spices, and rich in flavour. Before that, their food was nothing but potatoe and pig. yuk

Again thanks to muslims, christians got to wear fine, soft and quality cotton clothing(btw cotton itself was a corrupted arabic word qutun which means fine fabric) before then, the european christians wear uncomfortable and smelly wool clothing,and their african counterparts wore leaves until the generous muslim brought them clothing and taught them civilising

And all of those countries can be considered relatively developed as they never see power outage, or water shorttage, they got good infrastructure, quality govt services, quality lifestyles even in war turn Syria. The same christians risk the sahar desert just to go to Libya and morroco both islamic countries, both developed.

I just can't understand african parents and relatives sometimes, they must just interfere and control your life anyhow. They want to choose a name for you, they want you to go to the school they choose, they want to pick out friends for you, and as if thats not enough, they want to choose who you fall in love with and marry. I wonder, when then do i get to live my own live? do my own things? make my own decisions? when?
In saner climes, as soon as a guy hits 18years of age, he moves out of his parent's home, find a place he likes for himself, choose for himself who to fall in love with, and when he wants to marry, notify his parents if they like they attent, if not their loss, he will just gather a few friends as best men and marry her anyway.
But in africa, they must choose for you or else they blackmail you that they gave birth to you, raised you, fed you, schooled you, now you want to show them you have grown up by disobeying them(making your own decision). Forgetting that its their duty to do that, and that a time comes when you have to be independent of them(decision wise, financially e.t.c) They lived there own lives o, but they just won't allow you to live yours. Not that am encouraging disobeying of ones' parents o, but sometimes its absolutely nesecarry to say NO to them, to follow your own instincts, thats not disrespect but showing them their boundries. I personally believe that a 25year old guy(not to talk of 30) has gone through enough in life and gathered enough experience to make his own decisions, like who to love and who to marry, and doesn't need anyones "permission" to be with the one they love.

I am a muslim and i just sometimes cannot fathom the insistence on under development by these extremist groups. Yes it is the dream of every normal muslim to see a caliphate come into existence as it will represent and protect muslim interests, but must it come with terrorism? Must you terrorize others? what happened to "there is no compulsion in religion?" By threatining to bomb qatar, ISIS sounds more like nothing but a terrorist group than a representative of the world muslims, instead, they can be more reasonable by advicing qatar to check anti social activities during the games by maybe limiting alcohol abuse, nudity, violence, and encouraging muslims to not allow the games stop them from prayers, but threatining to bomb and kill, that ain't cool mehn. I swear christians of today are nothing but devil worshipers. Everything about them is PROVEN to be devilish in nature.
