chillex8: I spent over 10k on “car wash” monthly while I was still active. Driving alone is stressful. It will take me at least 2hours to wash a sedan to my satisfaction. How many hours is now left to complete trips? When accumulated it adds up to something tangible considering the fact that presently he is struggling to meet up with his rentals. 10k is even way off the charts. In one year that is 120k, but I remember you said over 10k which means its even more than that. You're really doing well!!! |

Felicity0001: My partner to the best of his knowledge has decided to ground vehicle till further notice but as for me ahead ahead na him I dey. I waited patiently for about 4month plus for that car the first time during the festive period when guys where catching out. Cars must experience tears and wears which is no fault of my.
I was waiting and ready for further re-negotiation of rental fee after car has been fix but the way and manner I was decieved to return the car is what I find unprofessional and unfair. And the most annoying part was my own guy was used to lure me into a dish.
But like I believe "I don't ever feel to comfortable when everything is going on too well" because there lyes a big problem ahead". Also, when a door close there is always like a 100 other better doors opened.
No offense taken brother man, I understand you view but you of all people should know that washing of tyers anf changing of spare tyers are the two most difficult things in owning a car.
A total change of that device was carried out with a tok spare.
Modify: sorry about the typo No issues bro, I'm not here to fight or bully anybody...just here to enjoy the gist. But still how did you solve the high fuel consumption issue of the car? |

Felicity0001: You and your co-host(donfortone48) now this is for you two.
Everything i put up there is precise and accurate. I am not the reason for covid-19. Pro-covid I was doing 35k weekly no stories. After the lockdown was lifted i and my partner agreed with some level of understanding to do N10k weekly pending when things improve and the major cause for my high fuel expenses is been sorted out. Evennwhen I was doing 25k box I don't spend 17k on fuel weekly. Please how did you solve the bolded, suffering similar fate? And please don't get me wrong when I suggested you could save 8k a month on car wash. Don't mean to be in your business like that. |

Felicity0001: Be we should ask that jpworld who thinks he's the head of Car Owners Association (COA).
As a matter of fact the guy as succeeded in his evil plans.
Will update the house much later but I won't call out names.
All I can say for the now is may God continue to bless all the good partners both drivers and car owners especially my boss (Madam/Oga), it was a wonderful relationship and a privilege to first knowing, meeting and working with you.
The fact remains good people are hard to find but no one should ever think they're the only good person that exist and that one can never find a good person should you path ways with a partner, spouse or a worker. Also, don't ever think people can't survive without you, else you placing yourself in God's position. and the God I've grown up to understand frown at competition with him and if such person is not careful h/h case woulf be worst than even Nebuchadnezzar in the bible.
Lifr goes on and just like I said the other week good things don't last and that because human fails to appreciate or identify a good thing when they're previllege to have it around them.
Apology to who anyone that may br offended with this post but I need to seek experience opinion with this, kindly drop them with a quote.
Like you all know, I don't do offline due to some bad experiences I've had with riders and asmuch as I hate to be cheated I also don't like it when somebody feels cheated by me.
Now, within is my earning with in the past 4-5weeks, the last time uber credited my account was before the lockdown when uber was still doing the 3% promo after the lockdown and at the end of every week the least balance I usually have is -N10k+. Thank God for the previous uber promo of N7500 after 20 or 30 trips thereabout which leaves my present balance @ -N5k+ pictures attached within.
At the end of the week after paying rental and carrying out other expenses in virtually left with nothing.
Weekly estimate from my earnings is as fllw:
Rental: N10,000 (since after the lifting of the lockdown as agreed btw my partner and I)
An Avrg of N3,500 spent of fuel daily which is about an avrg of N17,000 weekly. I think the high cost of fuel is due to a faulty catalytic component which repairs is pending to arrival of spare part plus long distance Uber PU alias short distance destination.
Car wash takes an avgr of N2000 weekly.
Personal expenses and repairs like gauging tyers, settle police due to curfew, LASTMA, agboros, water, food, etc N5,000 weekly.
Weekly Subscription N1,200
Total= ~N35,000.
PS: I do only UBER because BOLT has axed me to low rating.
Pls kindly advise if such a driver with wife n kids can rent at N25,000 weekly.
I understand it's not easy for owner partners because repairs is on them but it is what is, everyone is fighting to survive at this time. Though it may not seem much but you could save 8k from the car wash monthly, considering we have 4wks in a month. |

Resurgent2016: Let me share my experience.
I typically do ehailing, 1 trip from mainland to island very early in the morning to at least bring down my fuel cost as I transit to work.
So today I went on Indriver, saw one trip just like that - 7mins from PU and the location seemed like the island (as per indriver fastest finger, I didn't even confirm, I just applied). Trip was 1,200, I didnt mind. Its better than driving empty.
Picked up the guy, seemed like a nice guy but as I started the trip, I saw like 1hr+ on google map, then I knew I bought bad market.
Looked again, it was somewhere inside inside Apapa, apparently the bridges I saw on indriver map were the ones that lead to Apapa.
I was still acting professional, didn't complain. Started the trip. When I got inside the Apapa side, it was unbearable. Some traffic points were near standstill.
I left professionalism, turned off my a/c, he didn't deserve it, a very wicked somebody, because he was going to work and he knew what lay ahead. How can he book a trip like that for 1k, because I also use the rider side of indriver and I know they usually give a base rate that is comparable to bolt. Even without traffic that trip will be at least over 3k.
The guy realised my mood was changing, and started begging me to chill, we will get there and he will give me more money.
Long story short, after like 1hr and still in traffic, I ask the guy to alight and not bother with payment.
Very wicked people exits on indriver, be careful with the fastest finger thing I don't do fastest finger with indriver any how o. Paramount for me is the destination rider is going. I take my time to look at A and B. If B is within an area I feel will have heavy traffic, I don't bother. |

Felicity0001: The road is seriously under construction now oh.
Also, I was at Agbara yesterday it was a smooth ride from Surulere through Ijegun to Igando and then Igbo Elerin road and down to Agbara. The Only bad spot one would encounter is before getting to Agbara B/S the road is not too good but manageable. Even with the little load I carried i never had any issue neither did my car touched yhe ground all throughout the trip.
Though rider said from Agbara to Badagry is still very bad.
I personally like adventures and don't like being told but experience myself.
A good negation with such a trip can make ur day and then you set destination straight back home.
My recent mentality about this work is once I've my rental, have fuel for next day work, have little money for family upkeep I park car at home and relax.
Even jpworld with his 10 cars @27k weekly he gets from his drivers he's still living under a rented apartment.
In a nutshell, be it a driver or owner you think you're uber/taxify hustle can't buy you a land and build you a house anywhere in Lagos.
I can not come and kill myself The major problem with that road starts from after Agbara. Been to that axis before. |

shekinahisaac: Good afternoon Nairalanders. I am currently working with a company in Lagos. I am thinking of going into Uber business to have as another source of income (SIDE HURSTLE). My condition of work with the way it is going right now, gives me time for Uber business as I can manage the business and my current job together. I have been thinking of going into Uber business. Is the business still lucrative? Is the business still dependable? Or should I just get a Toyota Sienna space bus and use it for side hurstle? With this Toyota Sienna, I can pick passengers on my way to office and even pick passengers on my way back home at night. Moreover, at weekends, I can use the Sienna for weekend side hurstle by picking up passengers.
Please your inputs will be highly appreciated. Get koropke!!! |

radautoworks: I'm talking about the unnecessary attacks on drivers and family especially. There IS a NL rule against that. If he wants to make imaginery comments about his fleet, it has to do with Uber but the uncouthness does not and you guys don't have to deal with it. Better than insulting back and forth. I agree. But there's always a time in a mans life that he would be faced with a humbling experience. The haggling is just too much negative energy. |

jpworld: Apolo wetin?
What i said about madam radautoworks is not an insult, it's an assumption.
Only thing i have done is call most drivers vampire, (which they are)and it was not pointed at anybody.
Gentlelife50 you're acting like my jss1 class captain. my broda i don't manage people's vehicles i own them.
If u want to count people that have been successful in this business u will count me, owning above 10 cars no be beans, after starting with 3 cars, i take my business very serious like my life depend on it.
I have been on nairaland since 2009, some drivers insulting me here are still sucking their mom breast when we started using nairaland. Why not share some of the things you did that grew your business from 3 to 10 cars, we could learn a thing or two. |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Crvrider: 2:49pm On Aug 19, 2020 |
Gentlelife50: Same applies to every other person doing so, a lot of people do come here with contrary opinion yet they express themselves and nobody fight them. He can always make his point in a cool way, I don't care about whatever he have to say after all I am not working with him. But I was slighted when he just keep insulting others, he is not the first he will soon fixle out like others before him. No be today, it's just normal because he is a fleet manager. The higher the rental the better for him, after three layers of people have to feed on a particular vehicle if it's managed by an agent. There is really no day that I don't come by this thread, but it is sometimes disheartening when we haggle over issues here that are really not worth it, only because someone posts his earnings...or makes a remark that our perspective gives a different definition to. But anyways, @jpworld, you owe madam radu an apology sha. |

Gentlelife50: I don't understand, so people should go about and be misbehaving even insulting others in the name of humanity is complex? Even nairaland we are using have rules, so if go against the rules you face the music. Nobody is here to manage illmannered persons or care for persons that have refused to behave. Reading most of the replies to his post accused him of being bitter, yet a lot of our post towards him where also bitter....the vicious circle continues. |

radautoworks: You guys do know that all it takes to get rid of someone constantly derailing is to use the report button right? If enough do it they get banned from the thread and/or section? Sweet heart I really do not see how jpworld is derailing. The thread says, "If you're uber partner in Lagos, please share your experience". The last time I checked a partner could be a car owner or driver or car ownerdriver. I just feel we should just cut the guy some slack. He is who he is, saying things as it is which hurt a lot of people here. Part of the experience the thread has asked that we share encompasses everything: your earnings (good/bad). [If you have a bad day today as a driver/partner is that not your exeperince, how about a good day!?]. My advice, we should just try to understand ourselves contextually. His view point and how he chooses to address issues may differ from yours but does that make him wrong? Please let us enjoy the thread meant for both drivers and partners as it was not stated other wise. |
