The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has disclosed that it was determined to bring down the exchange rate of the Naira per Dollar to the official rate of about N305.

This information was revealed on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, by the Acting Director of Corporate Communications Department of the CBN, Mr Isaac Okorafor.

Mr Okorafor, while speaking on a radio programme on RayPower FM, Fact File, assured Nigerians that the present success of the Naira at the foreign exchange market would be sustained.

On the programme, which was monitored by Business Post, the apex bank’s spokesman noted that the current development was mainly aimed to make the exchange rate on the major segments of the market stay at par.

‘We are bringing the rate down to the official CBN rate; N305 per Dollar, that is our aim as stressed by the Governor (Mr Godwin Emefiele),’ the CBN spokesman said on the show when asked if the apex bank would further bring down the exchange rate from the present N360 it directed banks to sell.

Since the CBN introduced a new forex policy, the Dollar has been on a free fall against the Naira at the market.

When the apex bank came up with the new policy in February, it ordered banks not to sell above N375 per Dollar, but because the Naira was selling at the parallel market at about N390, the CBN, few days ago, further brought down the rate to N360.

As at the time of filing this report on Wednesday morning, the Dollar at the black market was N375.

The 2 Division, Nigerian Army, Ibadan, yesterday, said the killing, last December, of Colonel Anthony Okeyim, Commandant, Command Secondary School, Apata, Ibadan, was masterminded by a student, who was expelled over theft.

The revelation was made, yesterday, when the Division paraded six suspects arrested in connection with the Commandant’s death. The lifeless body of Okeyim was found at the premises of the school on December 12, 2016.

The command had earlier informed the public that the late Okeyim died as a result of rise in intracranial pressure from intracranial haemorrhage caused by fracture of the skull. The six suspected student who allegedly killed Ibadan Commandant paraded before newsmen in Ibadan, yesterday.

Presenting the suspects to newsmen, Colonel Timothy Antigha, Deputy Director, Public Relations, 2 Division, Nigerian Army, said that investigation conducted showed that the suspects played varying roles in the killing of Okeyim. Antigha said that the alleged killer of the senior officer stole his Samsung X4 phone and this helped in arresting the suspects. He said that the suspects went to the Command Secondary School, Apata, with their Toyota Camry car to kill the officer in his house. Antigha said that one of the suspects was a student of the school, who was expelled earlier by the school authorities over alleged theft, who gave the other suspects the logistics, leading to the death of the senior officer.

Antigha said that the Army was able to arrest the suspects with active collaboration of the Oyo State Police Command and Department of State Services, DSS. According to him, “on behalf of the General Officer Commanding 2 Division, Maj.-Gen. Chukwunedum Abraham, I thank the Nigeria Police and DSS, Oyo State Command, for their support. “Without the support, very little progress would have been made in unearthing the circumstances surrounding the death of the late senior officer.”

Also speaking, Colonel Abdullahi Ibrahim, Commander, 2 Division, Provost Group, assured the public that despite the incident, the Command Secondary School, Apata, Ibadan, was a secure.

Embattled minister and former governor Rotimi Amaechi met the President at the Villa yesterday to advise him that he was resigning his appointment as a Federal Minister.

Inasmuch as I'd have wanted Sarakill to resign from that post which I know he won't or be jailed over all these allegations coupled with how his family reduced Societel Generale Bank to nothing and the looting when he was Governor of Kwara State, the present administration has refused to look inward to also bring to book many APC members that have been enmeshed in corruption charges. Bubu's eyes aided by thick lenses doesn't see how his loyalist have fraudulently enriched themselves and his ears despite being fixed in the UK only listens to progress report on how some perceived enemies are been hunted by EFCC.

Yes, Sarakill should be jailed but what happens to other polithiefcians loyal to PMB that are as corrupt as Sarakill? Good that people are being investigated but it shouldn't be one-sided.

This simply shows that any administration in Nigeria, there are some untouchables!!! Sarakill was one of the untouchables until he played smart to become Senate President, the reason for the witch-hunt and PMB plus APC won't rest until he is removed.

If we continue to treat corruption cases like this, there's no ending to it.

Many families are dislocated and many are now refugees in their own country and in neighbouring nations because someone did not buy guns and ammunition. Someone bought fake blades for helicopters. And someone wanted to buy mansions for his sons;
How many lost their lives to failed banks?
How many emigrated?
How many received a racial slur because someone took their future in their native nation?
Why are we kind to those who stole destinies?

I'm a Graduate seeking employment and have bills to pay.. I joined some channels on BBM where I get lots of information, some time ago, someone posted a BBM pin of a person who offers ushering/weekend jobs. Being broke and needing to get some legal and fast money, I added the pin and it happened to be a woman.

She sends BC's of jobs she has and most times she'll tell me I can't do jobs like that cz I'm a Muslim and I wear hijab. She said if I can pay agency fee to her friend, I could get ushering jobs from him.

She has been on my list since February and we talk once in a while, last week she said there was a 3day job in ikeja and I could participate if I paid 7k as agency fee. Without thinking, I transferred 7k to the account number she gave me and even invited 3 of my friends who also paid. I asked her for the address of the venue but she said I should wait till she finished compiling the names of the girls that had paid, so that she could send it to the agent and then get the address. This was Wednesday night.

On Thursday morning, we got ready and set out to beat the traffic from Alagbado to ikeja hoping she would send the address since she said the event was to start by 11am. We got to ikeja some minutes to 11 and then she said we couldn't work last week, we should bear with her and she would fix us for this week. I started pinging her and sent her a whole lot of messages but she didn't reply.. I asked for her number but she said she doesn't give her number to clients.

On Friday, she later replied and said I shouldn't worry, that we would work on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. And that she couldn't refund the money cz she has added our names to the list already and if we don't work on Tuesday and Wednesday, she will give us our money.

Yesterday was Tuesday, she hasn't replied any of my messages since Sunday but she has been reading them. But she still hasn't deleted me and the other people I gave her pin to.

What do you guys think? I'll post the information I have if needed.. Thanks in advance and please go easy on me!

Try paste the bank account detail of the fraudster here and some banker could help you with her contact info - although, I know its against the policy of bankers to do so but in this situation and considering the amount involved, it may be hard for you to hire a lawyer or law enforcement agent to help you.

The only way we can all stop such bad habits is to be disgracing fraudsters publicly like this
