abduleez1: I could also say same for you too. I ain't disrespecting you, just stating the facts.
But sometimes peeps need to be called out on shitty opinions if their opinions aren't based on facts or reason.
It's just like people given a licence to speak any sh!t they like, just cos there's "Freedom of Speech". And who made you Lord of all opinions? |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by CsRockefeller(m): 10:57am On Feb 21, 2020 |
abduleez1: Stop this Clownishness. People who paid a little more attention knew what Joker gonna be like. Even the Director said months before it even started filming and before release that if you're expecting same things as previous Batman Movies, you were gonna HATE it.
It's a character study on Joker, and not an action packed movie.
Do some little bit of research on movies you intend to watch, instead of screaming crap when you're unable to understand it or doesn't match your expectations.
Aren't you the "CLOWN MAN" that watched a YouTube preview video and gave a movie a rating based on a 5 mins preview?? Learn to respect other people's opinion. That's all I will say for now. |

BlackShit: Na wah o. The way some of you condemn movies here is terrible. You sound really bitter. At least appreciate the time, money and effort put into it by the cast and crew instead of condemning it from A to Z.
As if thats not enough, you even cursed yourself and the time you spent watching it.
When analyzing movies you need to understand that your opinion is subjective and not final. People see different things in movies when they watch them. The fact that YOU don't like it doesn't necessarily mean the movie is wack and condemnable.
===== For example:
I see many people discarding the movie Joker here because it doesn't have the boom boom thrilling effect they like. That movie contains a very deep message and reveals a lot about society and human nature. It is the kind of movie that touches aspects of society and realities of life that many of us fail to see around us. But because some people are too shallow to see beneath their screen they discarded it as trash and keep wondering why it's getting many accolades.
If you want to really see how powerful and impactful the Joker move is, read through YouTube comments on any of the movie videos on YouTube and see how deeply people related with it.
No matter how action packed and thrilling movies like the Avenger Infinity WA and Endgame are, they actually do not have any applicable to the real world. The only thing worth remembering and I could relate with the Joker movie is this quote: "If it was me dying on the sidewalk, you would walk right over me, I pass you everyday and you don't notice me"
I get, a lot of people can relate with the message about rejection, preying on the weak, a dysfunctional society, but, why name it Joker? Especially knowing how the plot the previous Joker movies took, why not name it Clown Man To me it's deceit to use the name Joker knowing that people have an already established expectation of what the movie should look like. |

Esteemval: but in this situation I'll advise you pray first, it hasn't failed before, or don't you have God,? don't you believe she can change? She can. I just feel we place to much emphasis on prayers in this part of the world where issues can be simply resolved in other ways. |

SURElee: Yes, the signs are always obvious, but people claim love is blind, so what happens in marriage that their eyes now clear? Is it that after marriage the love dies and so the signs begin to show glaringly ?
No the problem is they ignore the red flags and begin to cry and lament more than the writer of the book of lamentations later in marriage. Lol. Everyone should be extra vigilant. Lots of crazy people out there in suits and skirts. |

LeoFish92: At the emboldened, here it is insubordination when you take a day off or half a day off without informing the management.
But for something as flimsy as to go get lunch? Which wouldn't take more than 5mins..
And you walk up to managers office, to tell him? The manager will think you are daft.
I didn't want to involve the colleague who covered for me cos he'd be sacked too. And his condition would be worse than mine, he has wife and children. Not a good place to work then. When you go for a break your desk/duty should be empty. No one should cover for someone who went for a break because it's a lunch break and you are not expected to be on break and still be working. Unless the time you went wasn't the approved time. |

SURElee: I know women complain about their marriages. When I see good men suffer in their marriages while being the best husbands they can be for their wives, I weep inside of me. I ask myself how good men can carry their hard earned monies to buy (pay dowry) for a woman/wife who will cause them so much emotional pain and psychological/mental suffering and stress.
Most of all I applaud men who speak up even when our society expects men to die in silence while acting all macho.
Oga, you are the head of your home. Man up. Sit up and call her to order, you can't be doling out cash of 3million into a bear bear bank that doesn't cook, care and service you sexually.
She should sit up to be a wife in every sense of the word called wife. Tell her to sit up, shape up or leave so you can get a wife that will really be a wife. A woman who knows the power of words and when to say sorry.
I'm so sorry you have to go through this. You see things will not change till you take a stand as a man. You are in this life hustling to keep family happy and provided for but you also deserve respect, love and care as a man and a husband. You can't endure your marriage and for how long will you endure it? It is till death do you part. If she no ready to be wife, biko, let her step back biko. Your happiness over anything.
You need your sanity biko.
And this goes to men, before you marry check the women you are marrying, check how their mothers treat their dads. Check the family values their share. Same with ladies check the guys family values. Some homes kids grow in leave the kids checkered and messed up so those kids marriages never work out. If we are being honest with ourselves, we can tell from few weeks after we get close to Mr A or Miss B that they are bad market. It's glaring, but we choose to ignore them. |

Esteemval: Your wife is fine, nothing I mean nothing is wrong with her. I might not know much about marriage but kneel down and pray to God. Tell God what's going on in your marital home, continue catering for her needs, correct her when she's wrong, call her to order. You're the man of the house, remember you're two imperfect souls in one body, if you were to be in her position all she would have done is to pray now that you're hurt just pray to God. With God all things are possible, just know that challenges will surely visit. Besides this issue should have been on God's table not social media Not just prayer my sister, seek knowledge. You can keep praying and be in a hole of ignorance. See eh, many of our bad habits needs an attitudinal change not prayers. But we don't want to see it that way. |

LeoFish92: There's nothing hard to explain there.
Aside from my salary and feeding money, I go home daily with at least 1500, sometimes 2k or thereabout. When you save those, it amounts to something in the long run . You were making close to 80k monthly by my calculation and you threw it away just like that?!! Don't you know that it's insurbordination to tell a colleague to stand in for you without prior management notice or informing a direct senior supervisor? Getting that type of a job is very rare Bros. But, the good news is that, it's not the end of the world. Dust yourself up and fight on. |

alangrin55: Joker - 4/10
I just don't get it, don't get the hype. Phoenix's performance was good but just served to carry an otherwise boring and generic film. 2 Hours of my life I honestly want back. Pacing was way too slow and just seemed to drag on. My younger sis gave me the film, after seeing it, I told her never to try such again, she told me she's yet to see it herself and that she's gonna delete it. Mischievous me, trying not to be the only one to have seen such an eyesore recommended it to a friend, weeks after, she told me not to try such rubbish again. The movie Joker is a Joke. |

Infinity War was produced in 2018 then there came Endgame in 2019. Winter Soldier in 2014 then came Civil War in 2016. Do theses guys even get to rest? Consider how much training they undertake in these movies. |

AshiraWealthy: My dear, no be small thing o.
I actually posted this cos im a highly introverted fellow to see if I can.increase my chances of meeting someone new as against normal church members ive come to "see finish" *chuckles* and because of my nature, I attend a very small parish with few members cos I tend to freak out easily in large crowds. I hardly talk outside except im veeery close to you. So I feel a faceless forum is a good place to express my feelings better thats why it appears as though i talk too much on here or im seeking unecessary attention. I also dont have friends in real life. so it easy to find one or two people to chat with each day and save me some worrying which could lead to depression. I mean.... After work, side hustle, prayer, what am I suppose to be doing with my free time? I dont watch TV programmes anymore cos everything they show is fake life. So i find it easy to just come up here and do stuffs. Who knows?...something good might come out of it inspite of all the bashings and hate speech. My dear, I absolutely understand. I can relate with everything you wrote up there, being introverted isn't easy, so platforms like Nairaland gives us that opportunity to meet new people and express ourselves. Also, having to look forward to seeing/chatting with that special person each day is bliss especially for we the introverts. Hope you find that final piece in your jigsaw |

Our leaders have pushed us into a small room, they have taken the whole house. From that small room, we pray, hope that one day things will change.
Years pass, only few get to leave that room, we birth our children and they too begin to take over from where we left.
See eh, if we don't take charge of our country nothing will change. There's enough to go round.

MRcocaFanta: It's like you don't know the power a virgin possesses.
Reason why female virgins are mostly require as sacrifices in movies and there is another reason why Nuns are virgins.
My brother, when five to ten virgin nuns with clean heart gather together to pray for you with ancient Gregorian chants and in Latin.
I swear the way you go blow ehn, e go be like say you do money rituals, everything about your life will be magical, each phone calls to your phones a potential money connection.
If you have a young sister or daughter that is a virgin, nurture her into the holy Christian race, let her be deep into JESUS and Christianity and watch as your life and that of the family turn out for Good.
The power of a Virgin.
Any man that has a virgin lady as a girlfriend or lover has hit a jackpot for life. I swear (forgive my French), no truer words have ever been said. The virgins I know are all doing well, all of them. |
