Edo State Headquarters of Rogue centres and Malpractice- Jamb Chief Oluyede. In order to catch candidates who want to cheat in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations, UTME, conducted by it, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, also set up what it called rogue centres to catch those seeking centres where they could be assisted to cheat during the examination. Disclosing this in Lagos on Wednesday while monitoring the ongoing registration for the 2021 UTME, the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Isaq Oloyede, also lamented the role of some parents who are seeking centres where their wards would be assisted to record high marks in the examination. He, however, added that the Board had taken enough steps to prevent candidates from cheating, as it keeps improving its measures to conduct a credible examination on a daily basis. “To catch a rogue you may need to pretend that you are one too. Despite all the efforts we have made to prevent the operation of what people call miracle centres, some people are still thinking they could circumvent the system. Those who come to the rogue centres to register, no matter how much they pay, the candidates stand disqualified from the examination. “We found out that the headquarters of those operating such rogue centres is in Igarra, Edo State and we are clamping down on them. “It is unfortunate that parents involved in this practice are even educated and rich. People who can afford to pay the huge amount demanded of them. A candidate is expected to pay N4, 700 for registration, but some centres are collecting more than that from candidates. “Moreover, secondary schools that are collecting more than the official fees from candidates have been reported to the Federal Ministry of Education for necessary action, ” he said. On why the Board insisted on National Identification Numbers, NIN, from candidates for the examination, Oloyede said it was to stop impersonation. He explained that those complaining about difficulties in getting a code using their NIN were doing it the wrong way. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2021/04/we-opened-rogue-centres-to-catch-exam-cheats-jamb-registrar/?fbclid=IwAR0xpwyK_XJUxhtFRXaXBDXeScz8S5MUTzKaNUIqzUBZ6HpwvDAipYhoKPA |

While directing the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR to retract the letter of revocation of the leases, the President also directed NNPC to utilize contractual provisions to resolve issues in line with the extant provisions of the Production Sharing Contract arrangement between NNPC and Addax. He built bridges of friendship and played his role beyond the Itsekiri nation. “We were not expecting this but only God knows why it happened so early. On behalf of the government and people of Delta, I mourn with the Itsekiri nation on the passing of His Royal Majesty, Ogiame Ikenwoli, the Olu of Warri Kingdom,” he said. The governor congratulated the Olu-designate, Prince Tsola Emiko, on his emergence and called on the Itsekiri people to give him their full support. He urged the Olu Advisory Council led by the Iyatsere of Warri Kingdom, Chief Johnson Omatseye,to do its best to unite everyone and ensure that there is peace in Warri Kingdom. “I thank God that you have been able to arrive at a decision in the interest of the people on the choice of a new monarch. “I pray to God to lead the Itsekiri nation through these trying times even as we work towards giving the departed king befitting burial rites and as we also look forward to the presentation of the new king. “Please extend my congratulations to the new monarch and we assure him that our prayers are with him just as we pray that the Itsekiri nation will remain united. “It is only when there is peace that we can have development not only in Warri but the entire Delta State,” Okowa added. He urged all aggrieved persons in the process of picking a new Olu to sheath their swords to ensure that everything was done peacefully and in unity in the overall interest of Itsekiri people. Earlier, the delegation which spoke through Chief Brown Mene, said its visit was to intimate the governor on the demise of the Warri monarch and the enthronement of a new one. “Your Excellency, on the 5th of April, 2021, we got to a point where as a people, we gathered together to make a proclamation that our revered Ogiame Ikenwoli had been called to join his ancestors. “And, because we know the king never dies, on that same day we proclaimed to the whole world that we have a new Olu-designate in the person of Prince Tsola Emiko. “At the conclusion of the funeral rites of the departed King, we can then enthrone the new king,” Mene said. The delegation also condoled with the governor on the demise of his father, Pa Arthur Okorie, who died in January. High point of the visit was the presentation of a letter to the governor formally notifying him of the demise of the monarch. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2021/04/okowa-condoles-with-itsekiris-over-demise-of-olu-of-warri/?fbclid=IwAR3dfnP4j3vmp9srKSazIXwYU9PCtYzjmZQIVO21zGwBRWlkSB0OlBFmZns Lalasticlala |
Nnamdi Azikiwe was an Ijaw Man, The hidden truth by Igbos Up till Thisday Heroes Of Ijaw Nation. THE UNTOLD STORY The First Nigerian President Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe ( 1904- 1996) was indeed an enigma of no less order. His towering personality makes him to be the greatest Nigerian ever in history. But Who was Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe? Who was his true biological father? What if all that the public knows about him was the untold truth? Then there is the raging question of who truly owns a child? Is it the Mother or the Father? Some traditions require that the man has to fulfill his marital obligations to lay claim to a child! But others are lenient in such issues. In considering the aforementioned posers about one’s Fatherhood, let’s concede the fact that fatherhood is not just blood, but a responsibility. No one can reasonably lay claim to a child one abandoned only to return years later for the same child, cared for by a single mother. That would be insensitive! That is not morally right. But the question here is, what if the man was not allowed access to his son because tradition says he should not? What about the culture that says it is not the man but the woman that owns a child if the man failed to perform his marital vows? In which case, she left with the child and got married to another man who fostered him and trained him to achieve his educational dreams, only for the child to find out the truth that his biological father is somewhere. What would be his reactions? How could he tell that the man whom he thought all his life to be his father was not his biological father? And that his father was somewhere else! The heart of a woman is truly a deep blue sea of secrets! That for Zik’s Mother to tell him the truth about his origin, the boy had to wait until the time was right. He must know his roots, for that was his spiritual freedom, but he must be trained to accept the fact he had gone too far in the journey of life to return home to his father. She had told him, the story of her youth, and the love of her life, about that handsome dark tall Ijaw fellow whom she met at Agbere in some decades ago during when both of them were working at the Royal Niger Company. She was a staff, and he was a carpenter. They met and fell in love, and one thing led to another. Then she was naive about her culture and tradition, thinking love was all that mattered in the whole world. She became pregnant but the man was struggling to make it in life and was not ready for a child. A misunderstanding ensued and she left with the pregnancy. Years after, their paths crossed again at Onitsha where he was a fisherman. But this time she was carrying his baby, and when he saw the baby, he saw a reflection of himself; from the dark colour to his facial features. He apologized and promised to marry her, but she was already married. He came too late. She had already named him Benjamin, but that was later changed by the boy when he realized the truth about his paternity to ‘ Nnamdi’ meaning ‘ My father is somewhere’. And that was how Pa Lewis Apam lost the battle of life and his love to an Onitsha man. And so, she left and returned no more. Sadly, that was the last time he set his eyes on his biological son until the boy grew up and became the president of Nigeria. But God is dynamic in answering the prayers of men. According to the story made available by the family, Chief Ezonbodo in his political journey came across Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, and when he introduced himself as an Ijaw man from Agbere town, immediately their blood bond was rekindled. They were brothers from the same bloodline. Dr Zik sent for his father Chief Lewis Apam, and when Hon. Ezonbodo Ninetry brought the two together, they were indeed identical. Dr Zik saw himself in a mirror as his biological father stood before him. Thereafter, they became close. The lost relationship between Father and son was restored. Dr Zik in the name of politics visited his Father’s place Agbere more than twice and spent a night or two. He took his father to Lagos in his house, most of the time until the man died. He knows his siblings and half brothers, like the great footballer Onyekachi Justice Apam’s father who was equally married to an Igbo woman from Abia state. Today, many has mistaken the great Nigerian footballer as an Igbo man, but he is Ijaw by origin, paternally. In his case, his father fortunately had paid the marital vows of his wife, so the children were free to announce their father’s name Mr Apam proudly anywhere, even though his name Onyekachi could be misleading as the public most times thought he is an Igbo man. But that was not the case of the Great Zik of Africa. His case was different. He had to consider his society, the Igbo society he had come to be associated with to make his political name and fame. Again, he had to consider the good man who married his mother and adopted him as his son. Again, the larger world that looked upon him as a man with a perfect childhood and upbringing. No, he couldn’t handle the controversies. After all, what is life without dignity, without power, without honour? And he was not a Moses to have traded all these things for merely an origin of birth. No way, let history set the records straight, when I am gone, he must have thought. But to a large extent, it was not a secret. The entire Ijaw leadership knew the story, both home and abroad. He sponsored his brother Chief Ezonbodo Ninetry politically as a first generation politician that he was seen as a demi-god in the whole of Western Ijaw Division. The Ijaws celebrated their son Dr Nnamdi when he was alive until the day he died. Interestingly that was the lost Ijaw son who became an Igbo man by tradition. To many, it is no longer relevant, after all, some truths are better left unsaid, especially when it has lost its relevance and time. But what is life anyway, if not to relive the memories we share with our loved ones. Apart from that, like every tribe with their own traditions and cultures, so is the Ijaw man’s culture, forbidden him to be part of a secret, merely for the sake of the living who lives in secrecy all our lives. According to the tradition of the Ijaw man, it is a taboo for one to bury a man with his secret. Such secret could be kept, but not when the man has died. For in death, the spirit of man is pure before his Creator, and every other worldly desires are purged, including his many covered up secrets. Ironically, tradition holds the living responsible for not saying it, for by saying it, you are freeing the soul of the dead from eternal destruction, if you don’t the spirit in the life beyond suffers in damnation. Reasons being, that it is only in life that greed, lust of power, envy, and all material things are needed. But in the spirit, when the flesh has given up its grip on the soul of a man, he becomes free. As such, all that’s needed is the truth, nothing but the truth- which is Ijo in meaning. Hence, it is our obligation to honour our blood brother, father, uncle, who in life had taken the effort to be identified with his people the best he could as a human being. He may not be perfect by not changing his foster name, but he was a good man to the Ijaws, and there is no way one can make good and enemy of perfection. And when he died, the Ijaws in London equally saw a reason to celebrate him as their own in grand style. Though his silence on the matter was understandable. But think about it, how could the President of Nigeria, the greatest personality with the self appellation ‘ Zik of Africa’ be a man of double origin? That his true full-blooded biological father was an Ijaw man? Of course, that could bring some considerable shame to his public image and ego. Therefore he hoped to carry the secret to the grave. But ironically it was not a secret to his brothers of Agbere town. Sadly that is the world in which we live, and has been raised, a cruel tradition that denies a father from his son simply because one could not meet up the rites demanded of him. Strangely the life of a man is policed daily by traditions- they over rule our actions and stories. Strange enough, for one to know that Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe was a son of his mother who later identified his roots with the great ijaw tribe as his paternal home, one could see it through his actions. The Owele of Onitsha built his University at Nsuka instead of Onitsha. He equally built his beautiful home, the Onuye Haven in his mother’s place instead of Onitsha, place of his fostered father. All things point to one direction, he was truly a son of his mother, and in all his life, he knew his father was somewhere. He secretly worshiped him and held that memory dearly to his heart. It pained him to know all these things yet he could not say it, and that made him sad, and such, was holding those grudges against the world. Interestingly, family sources further confirmed that before the demise of Lewis Apam (his father), Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe directed his father with financial provisions to build a house for him in his home town of Agbere. This was a registration of undeniable acceptability of his kinsmen. As a man of uncommon intellectual stamina and moral fervidness or audacity, the Great Zik of Africa realized that mother’s love is Supreme but father’s love is a bowel of strength and courage. But unfortunately the house project was overtaken by events. Culled from the book: ‘Heroes of the Ijaw Nation’ Author, Gesikeme Akparakata

Oore of Otun Ekiti, Oba Adekunle Adeagbo was part of the delegation that represented Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, at the unveiling of new Olu of Warri, Prince Tshola Emiko, recently. In this interview with BOLA BAMIGBOLA, he speaks on his experience witnessing the event Why was Ooni’s intervention in the Itsekiri stool controversy important? It was very important because the Itsekiri kingdom is part of the Oduduwa nation. The Itsekiri came from Benin, through Oranmiyan from the source, Ile Ife. So, we are all under Oduduwa nation and Kabiyesi, Arole Oodua, Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Co-Chairman, National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria, will not want any town under our reverred lineage to be under siege. So, we had to intervene at this criticial time to ensure peace and make sure there is tranquility in Itsekiri land vis-à-vis the entire race. What was really the crux of the matter on the Itsekiri stool? The crux of the matter was the nomination. The present Olu of Warri-designate, Prince Tshola Emiko, is a son of Ogiamen, the Olu of Warri before the immediate-past king and they were saying that he was not right for the throne. But then, the entire traditional council, the Itsekiri General Assembly and the entire Council of Chiefs said he has a right to the throne because he is a son and a prince of that dynasty. A section felt the mother of every Olu must be Itsekiri or Edo, but the entire Itsekiri General Council said the Itsekiri nation is a Yoruba nation and the mere fact that the mother is a Yoruba makes its a plus, and that he should be nominated after due consultation with the oracle and he should be made the new Olu of Warri You just mentioned that Prince Emiko’s mother is Yoruba; is she from Ile-Ife or where is she from? She is from Ogun State and she is a princess. She is from the Remo axis and she is maternally a princess from Lagos State, from the information made available to us. Of what significance is the emergence of Prince Emiko as Itsekiri monarch to Ile-Ife? It is quite significant, because our political sage and father, the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, was at the enthronement of the father of this present Olu-designate. That was the last official outing he attended before he passed on. The Itsekiri nation is very dear to the Oduduwa dynasty and its quite important that at that critical time, we must intervene to put things aright for the peace and development of several millions of members of the sophisticated Yoruba race worldwide from the Oduduwa kingdom. So, it’s quite critical and I thank God that the intervention was timely. You said the Yoruba and Itsekiri have common ancestry. Can you speak more on this? There are five clans that make up the Itsekiri nation. Three from Yoruba, one from Edo and one from Igala, so, that clearly tells you the kind of importance of the Yoruba and the Oduduwa connection to the entire dynasty and when the Itsekiri man speaks, you can see the connection in the language. It is clear and evident that the Itsekiri nation is connected to Yoruba nation and our ancestory has same source from Oduduwa. Can you speak about the specific charge that the Ooni gave you when sending you on that assignment? The Ooni is a lover of peace and progress. He is a visionary and he wants everything to be done in peace and harmony and what he sent us to do was to go and see to it that everything done follow due process in terms of traditional norms and when we got there, we observed that people saddled with the responsibility carried that out as tradition demands. We saw how the passage of the late monarch was announced, showing the end of an era. We also saw the unveiling of the new Olu. There was a gunshot salute service to show that the Olu of Warri had passed on and that the new one was about to come in. So, our mandate was very clear – peace, harmony and reconciliation. Though in a contest, you will always have people that are angry, but as a leader, you have to reach out to them, because they are all of the same family. There was a need to console them and tell them that we are all going to do this thing together. So, that was the mandate, to make sure that the traditional processes were complied with and also to make sure that all parties work together for the development of the Itsekiri nation. How were you able to prevail on the decision makers in Itsekiri kingdom to pave the way for Prince Emiko’s emergence? We didnt intervene like that because some of these things are organic. The people themselves must decide, so what we went there to do was to witness. The entire council had decided, we have met all the chiefs and traditional council, they were all present, they had chosen him (Emiko). We only went there to witness and not to interfere with our presence. It was not as if we went there to choose, no. They had chosen and planned; we met council of chiefs that rejected Prince Okutebo, we were only there to witness and we thank God that what we saw was what we wanted. There was peace and harmony and we thank God and we saw the love and happiness on the faces of the Itsekiri people and it was done in Ode-Itsekiri, the ancestral home and all of them mobilised, and moved there, a sign that Prince Tshola Emiko is popular and he is loved by his people. Is this the first time the Ooni will be making this kind of intervention? Not even in Itsekiri, but across Yoruba land, Ooni has always been asked to intervene whenever such intervention is considered necessary. I can remember in 1903, when there was an issue like that in Lagos and the Ooni had to be called to settle one or two things. By what we read, the white man that was in charge at that time was told that it was only the Ooni that could settle such a matter and the then Ooni told them that he doesn’t leave his palace. The Ooni also said for every river he crosses, the expatriate must kill a black cow, and the white man agreed. He went for that meeting and resolved the crisis and there was peace. So, I think the Ooni is a father to all Oduduwa sons and daughters worldwide and we thank God for his life, that under his reign, the entire Yoruba nation is prospering, expanding and increasing. He is a leader full of knowledge and wisdom, very agile, very potent and what I will say is that God Almighty will continue to increase him on every side and strengthen him the more. The Ooni is a father and anywhere there is disharmony, he intervenes and he is just making sure that all parties negotiate and discuss. That is the message of the Arole Oodua and when we got there, that was what we did and we thank God that it was successful. How did the Ooni feel when you returned with the mission accomplished? Immediately he heard that we were back, the Ooni was excited and he was happy that we went at that critical time. The programme was on Monday, April 5, we got there a day before and everything went well, so Kabiyesi thanked God that what we prayed for happened, which is peace. So he was excited that we delivered on our mandate and we thanked God that made it possible. Will you describe your task as tough or easy It was quite tough. It was a Herculean task travelling from Ekiti by road to Warri and also by boat again to the Ode-Itsekiri. But we thank God. It was not an easy journey at all. If Prince Emiko had been denied his right to the throne, what would that have meant? We believe that kings are chosen by God, nobody becomes a king by himself. For you to be king, the person must have been ordained, so we believe in the power of our father, Eledumare. The only thing we would have done is to pray for peace and harmony and then reach out. I think that would have been our position. As one of the prominent traditional rulers in Yorubaland, who is the Oore of Moba, if you are to describe the stool in few words? The Oore of Otun Ekiti is the paramount ruler of Moba land and the permanent Chairman of the Moba Traditional Council of Obas and Chiefs. The meaning of Oore is Oloore and that is Oloore Oduduwa. The kingdom has been around for over 1,000 years and to the glory of God we are deeply connected to Ile-Ife and we appreciate God that the Oore is among the ‘Pelu pelu’ Obas in Ekiti State. I am the great-grandchild of Oore Okinbaloye, that signed the Ekiti Parapo Kiriji war peace treaty in 1886. He was the one that led all other Pelu-pelu obas to end that war. So, we have a very rich history in Yorubaland and we are for peace, tranquillity, progress and we are happy that we want the Yoruba race to excel. The Yoruba race has several millions sophisticated people worldwide and we are doing exploits all over the world. https://punchng.com/olu-of-warri-designates-emergence-significant-for-ile-ife-oba-adeagbo/?utm_term=Autofeed&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook&fbclid=IwAR3h-DQ70T5vnlfsfLzOGBM25W-ECraJL0HLSE7NjJcwlOcK_gyXzLveJO0#Echobox=1618739099 Lalasticlala

Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo Youth Movement has decried what it called the “campaign of calumny” by some aspirants ahead of the November 6 governorship election in Anambra State. “We are aware of a message currently in circulation to the effect that Chuma Umeoji’s ambition to become the next governor of the state is fuelled by the desire of Zenith Bank to take over Anambra State Government’s banking business from Fidelity Bank,”the group, led by Mazi Uche Nnadi, said in a statement, Friday in Abuja. It added:”It is a clear sign of fear of defeat for aspirants to jettison campaign of issues and begin to attack any other aspirant they perceive as being a threat to their aspiration.” “Rather than dissipating energy and resources in spreading falsehood to whip up sentiment against co-contestant, we advise Soludo to concentrate on selling his candidature and his programme to delegates and leave Umeoji and the Zenith Bank alone. “We further urge Soludo to eschew the politics of bitterness and embrace progressives politics and decent campaign strategy,”the group further said. It said it was worried by activities of the aspirants, warning that if not checked, could plunge the state into crisis. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2021/04/anambra-guber-ohanaeze-youths-decries-character-assassination-campaigns/?fbclid=IwAR0eeZrLNNbozSigj2qmwnI0xF55NsH7RpmJYMGoZTibFKTp6djh92oZa50 Lalasticlala |

You have Contributed Greatly to Delta Development Okowa Hails Tompolo at 50. Okowa congratulates Tompolo at 50 Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta has congratulated Niger Delta activist and ex-militant leader, Chief Government Ekpemupolo as he clocks 50 years. Okowa, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, on Monday in Asaba, said that Ekpemupolo popularly known as Tompolo, was an illustrious son of Niger Delta, who had contributed immensely to the peace and development of the region. He said that Ekpemupolo's crave for the development of Niger Delta compelled him to embrace the Presidential Amnesty offered by the Federal Government to armed agitators in the region in 2009, thereby ending the near-intractabl e militancy in the area. He remarked that ‘’Tompolo’’ contributed hugely to the restoration and sustenance of peace in Delta, recalling that his swift intervention in one of those ``tough times’’ helped to nip in the bud, a dangerously brewing crisis in the state and the region. The governor urged him to continue to do good, as it was fulfilling and rewarding to be benevolent, ``especially now that you have attained the golden age’’. "On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta, I felicitate with an illustrious son of the Niger Delta, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo on the occasion of his 50th birth anniversary. "Tompolo, as he is fondly called, is an embodiment of peace and has contributed greatly to the peace and development of the oil rich Niger Delta, and has continued to partner governments in the maintenance of peace in the region. We are grateful to him for his support. "As he celebrates his golden jubilee, it is my prayer and that of the people of Delta that God will continue to bless him with good health and wisdom to continue in his services to humanity," he stated. Please wish our Tompolo Happy Birthday.

Yorubas and Fulanis Are Really One - Rasheed Olaniyi An authentic and coherent history of the Yoruba, covering all aspects of the people from the earliest times accounts of Hausa impact on Yoruba history. Yorubas in northern Nigeria is better understood within the historical context of the respective host communities and indeed the entire history of northern Nigeria as a whole. According to Islamic tradition, the Yoruba were regarded as brothers and sisters of the Hausa people because the majority of Yoruba migrants were Muslims. This suggests why some Yoruba have been assimilated into Hausa culture or enjoy accommodation. Yorubas also shared myth of origin with the Kanuri. Oral tradition in Borno has it that the “Yoruba and Kanuri were cousins. According to one mythology, the Yoruba were said to be outspoken while the Kanuri were calm people who detested discussing their private affairs in public, particularly those issues concerning their sexuality. The Kanuri thus referred to the Yoruba as “Khairuba,” meaning that there is no alheri in your habit (that is, you don’t keep secret, go away!).. It was from “Khairuba” that Yoruba was derived. There are those who claimed that the similarity in Yoruba and Kanuri culture could further be observed in their passion for singing, particularly among their women. The historical relationship between peoples of northern Nigeria and the Yoruba runs deep. For Instance In Kano, by 1914, the government police were composed entirely of Yoruba ethnic group. Also in the Abinsi Division of Tivland, Audu Dan Afonja, a Yoruba Muslim from Ilorin, was imposed as the Chief of Makurdi between 1914 and 1947. He had formally served as a British agent and spy in the area. In Dekina, Ahmadu, a Yoruba was imposed as the Onu of Dekina between 1914 and 1918 as a result of his role as a member of WAFF in the conquest of Igalaland. The commercial and religious interactions between Yorubaland and Kanem Borno led to the settling down of the two ethnic groups in each other’s communities. The Yoruba in Borno were products of two religious waves. First, Borno scholars who settled in Yorubaland influenced the migration of Yoruba students to Bomo for Islamic education. Yoruba pilgrims to Mecca often passed through Borno. Some of these pilgrims discovered business opportunities, which made them to settle in Borno. In northern Nigeria, Islamic brotherhood constituted a fundamental relationship between the Yorubas and Hausas. |

Buhari Has Special And Exceptional love for Ijaw People The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, says President Muhammadu Buhari has an exceptional love for the people of Ogbia, an Ijaw subgroup in Bayelsa State, because of their son, former President Goodluck Jonathan, who peacefully relinquished power to him in 2015. Sylva revealed this on Friday while inspecting the ongoing construction of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Park Scheme (NOGaPS) being constructed by the Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) at Emeyal 1, Ogbia Local Government Area of the state. Sylva, who is a former Governor of Bayelsa State, said: “President Muhammadu Buhari specially loves Ogbia people and that I can tell you for free. Buhari loves the Ogbia people because Goodluck Jonathan, who was President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, willingly allowed one of the most peaceful transitions in Nigeria. “So, you can see that one of the roads the President is building in Nigeria, Sukuk Road, is in Ogbia territory, leading to the community of Goodluck Jonathan.” Sylva commended Ogbia youths for being peaceful and urged them to keep the disposition, adding that they would achieve a lot for being peaceful. Describing the level and quality of job done so far at the NOGaPS site as satisfactory, the minister said when completed, the project would generate over 2,000 jobs. He noted that Buhari was aware that only creation of jobs could solve the problems of the oil-rich Niger Delta region. Speaking earlier, the Executive Secretary of the NCDMB, Simbi Wabote, said MegaStar Construction Company Nigeria Limited is responsible for infrastructure projects in the site while OK Sokariari and Sons is handling the road construction. https://thenationonlineng.net/buhari-specially-loves-ijaw-people-because-of-ex-president-jonathan-sylva/?fbclid=IwAR1mj5t5wlI3-dFA9mmqdvOv3amxJAgKi4kLq9XAakeSz0vpiYY2C7YmLqE Lalasticlala

:PItshekiri Kingship Tussle-Edo remains a part of Yoruba kingdom likewise Itshekir How can we save ourselves from this self imposed confusion?? Listening to Chief Ayiri Emami and Chief Amaju Pinnick this morning on Arise TV got me worried. Both men were discussing the current Itsekiri succession Tussle Ayiri is maintaining that the Procedure enacted into law in 1979 must be followed. But many Itsekiris do not want to follow the procedure because a Particular provision in that Procedure will disqualify the People's candidate, a Candidate of their Choice. Briefly I am made to understand that the mother of a would be Olu must either be an Itsekiri woman or from Edo. But the Favorite candidate's mother loved by all has a Yoruba as his mother His own Father late Atuwatse II knew of this Proviso, yet went ahead to marry a Yoruba woman....that is my first source of confusion. Now his own Father became an Olu after this Edict was enacted in 1979 and ruled for about 28 years or so, he had all the connections to repeal that obnoxious proviso in that Edict, but refused to do anything about it , ...that is the second source of confusion. Then we are told that a would be Prince must be chosen by the Oracle of Ifa ....Yet Ifa Oracle is of Yoruba origin, an ancient Deity, and yet a Prince born by a Yoruba woman cannot be king, in a decision that will be taken by a Yoruba god??... Another confusion. Ayiri himself said in the video that he was told that the Ifa Oracle rejected him as the Ologbotsere, yet he successfully became the Ologbotsere and still is, ...and how did that happen?? Is he telling us that the Ifa oracular divination is a mere charade?? So what Place has Jesus Christ in the Place of the Itsekiri people in this modern age, with the likes of Pastor Ayo oritsejafor a former CAN President and with very many Christian Population, when it is an Ifa Oracle that will decide who will be their King instead of Jesus Christ?? Well I am getting more confused. Why enact a law in a matter that a deity will finally decide, or you want to use the law to arm twist the Deity?? But Truth be told Our system is a hybrid of a mess. We engage ourselves in 2 marriages. We called the English Traditional marriage as the '" white wedding" So after doing our Traditional wedding which allows a man to marry more than one wife and have concubines if he so desires, We repeat another "traditional" marriage of the English people that will make you marry only one wife....And so we are torn between the 2. We run the English legal system, while at the same time we keep another Customary courts. We elect kings given to us by the gods, only to subject them by laws given to us by the British Today all Nigeria kings are ceremonial...What Ifa has chosen today as a king can be dethroned and Banished by a mere mortal called Governor who is not even a member of that tribe tommorow. Our system, thoughts pattern need a total overhaul, we are not thinking straight at all. May the Almighty God of the Universe, see the Itsekiri people through this crisis and bless them abundantly by giving them Peace and enlarging their coasts in Jesus name. Amen.

A major war has been raging in the Nigeria sugar industry for some time now and the bubbles seemed to have burst with Dangote’s decision to petition the Federal Government asking the Ministry of Trade to shut down BUA Group’s Sugar Refinery located in Port Harcourt. In the letter dated 28th January 2021 signed by Aliko Dangote himself as the Chairman Dangote Industries Limited, the billionaire claimed that when the BUA Sugar refinery was opened, he warned the Government and they told him that no new refinery would be allowed to operate in Nigeria’. Dangote accused BUA of operating with impunity by contravening the laws as laid down in the National sugar policy by selling its products locally instead of producing for export alone. BUA in its own defense sent to the Honourable Minister of Trade however clarified issues by stating that the law allows it to sell inside Nigeria. Attaching the enabling permits and approval BUA stated that because of the connivance of the two major sugar manufacturers to hike the price of Sugar during the Ramadan period, the law allows it to sell locally. BUA also warned that the DANGOTE group and the other major player have not been involved in any backward integration project, rather they depend on 80% raw sugar allocation which is detrimental to the Nigerian economy in long-term analysis. BUA on the other hand has been involved in a backward integration project with BUA’s Lafiagi Sugar BIP set to be completed in 2022. Over a 250million dollars is believed to have been spent on the export-focused BUA sugar refinery already and it is also employing over 1,000 Nigerians. Meanwhile, BUA also noted that at the center of this fight to force FG to close the BUA Sugar refinery down is the price war. Last year, before Ramadan, sugar sold for around 18,000 Naira per bag. But as Ramadan fasting started the price jumped to 30,000 per bag. The people had no choice but to buy it because they needed a lot of it during the period. So the manufacturers were smiling at the bank. BUA group noticed the trend and decided that it had to change. There was no reason to increase the price during Ramadan simply because the demand is high. Usually, the increase happens about one month to commencement of fasting When the other manufacturers got across to BUA, Samad Rabiu refused. They put pressure on him, saying it was the right time to make good money but he put his feet down. After failing to do that, they petitioned the Federal Government that he was breaking the law by selling sugar locally instead of for export. A source however claimed that already, BUA group has dragged the Trade Minister to court to ensure that the operations of the sugar refinery are not tampered with all because of the desperate attempt by Dangote Group to monopolize the sugar trade in Nigeria.

Why Attack Buhari, All IGP during Obasanjo Tenure were all Yorubas. IGP Musiliu Smith IGP Mustafa Balogun IGP Sunday Ehindero During those period we didn't hear nepotism. Obasanjo agenda then was totally anti North, Anti South East and Anti South South. If not why didn't Obasanjo appoint an Igbo man as IGP or anyone aside his people? His administration favoured mostly SW if not why did he close all other ports for only Lagos ports to function. This is the Real definition of Nepotism.
