Politics / Release Our Members Or We Will Burn Down Anambra State-biafran Group by Ctorch: 6:18pm On May 28, 2021
Release Our members Or We Will Burn Down Anambra State-Biafran Group

The people of Biafra National Guard (BNG), A pro-Biafra group in anger and fury have warned southeast governors to order the release of their members held in various prisons in the region or they should forget conducting the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra State.

The group noted that their members had been held in various prisons across the southeast especially in Onitsha and Awka Correctional Centers, where dozens of their members had been held for over 15 years without trial.

On Monday, A statement issued in Enugu by the head of BNG, Nsikak Akpan, the group described as provocative the illegal imprisonment of several Biafran prisoners of conscience held for over 15 years in various prisons.

It warned that “Under no circumstance must any harm or injury be done to these prisoners of conscience: Mrs. Onyekachi Orji, Miss Okwudiri Bassey, Uche Idikaigbo, Michael Okezie, Uchenna Nicholas, Peter Igbokwe, Ikechukwu Aghara, Chima Asor, and Chinweike Irondi.

“Others are Sabastine Amadi, Casmir Odakara, Ojemba Anyanwu, Eni Kalu, Ndubuisi Okam, Ikechukwu Chikwem, Emmanuel Orji, Chukwuma Kalu, Chidiebere Chikwem and Mmaduabuchi Asika.”

The group gave the southeast governors a May 31, 2021 deadline for the unconditional release and compensation of “these Biafran prisoners of conscience held in the Onitsha and Awka Prisons.”

“Why should innocent women be made to suffer for the supposed crime of their husbands? Even among those incarcerated is a pregnant woman who has not set sight on her child since she gave birth in prison,” the statement added.

According to the release, “The BNG will kick start her activities in Anambra State. We emphasize that the slated November governorship poll will not be allowed to hold and the state shall be disrupted from being governed.

“The Nigeria security forces must desist from authorizing arrest, patrol, checkpoint or show of uniform in Biafra territory.”

Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has pledged N600 million for the construction of the Akwa Ibom Teaching Hospital at Awa in Onna Local Government Area of the state.

Wike announced the donation while performing the groundbreaking of the project on Wednesday during a working visit to the state.

He also performed the groundbreaking of Giwa Gas FZE gas and fertilizer project at Okoroinyong village, Eastern Obolo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

Speaking at the ceremony, he said those propagating the conspiracy theory that the Niger Delta is unsafe are the real enemies of the oil rich region.

The governor, in passing, advised oil and gas companies operating in the Niger Delta region to always implement the local content policy in order to foster cordial relations with their host communities.

He noted that if Akwa Ibom State is unsafe, there is no way any prospective investor will conceive the idea of building a gas and fertilizer plant in the state.

“If Akwa Ibom State is not safe will investors come here? Investors are here because the governor has provided an enabling environment that gives confidence to the investors. If a place is not secure for people to invest their money, we won’t be here.”

“Don’t mind the enemies of the people who will always say that Niger Delta is not safe. If it is not safe can anyone come and invest money here?”

He lauded the management of Giwa Gas FZE for the decision to invest in Akwa-Ibom and by extension, the Niger Delta.

Similarly, Governor Wike commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for attracting investors to the state. He expressed optimism that the gas and fertilizer project will not only transform the economy of Akwa Ibom State, but create employment opportunities for the people.

Politics / Recent Survey Show Anambra People Are Totally Against Nnamdi Kanu and his Biafra by Ctorch: 8:35pm On May 26, 2021
Recent Survey Shows Anambra People are totally Against Nnamdi Kanu. We recently conducted a discreet and Internal survey in this state and the result was shocking to say the least.
We gathered that the most vocal about biafra and Ipob issues are not even from the state, this was really an eye opener. The people themselves don't really give a damn about the whole kanu's issue as we established a kind of that's their business there.

Taking the survey with careful study we understand that when asked someone from these states as we profiled their state of origin about Nnamdi kanu and his biafra struggles

Ebonyi people will give an answer in affirmation, Imo will do the same likewise Enugu and Abia.

But immediately you asked the Anambra man/ woman people you will hear Kanu is very stupid, what does he know about war? He is just deceiving himself.

Now I ask, Is it that Ipob has failed to penetrate the state or the people are born naturally antagonist?

Count Us Out of Your Biafra, We are not Interested- Anambra Assembly.

Indigenes of Anambra State under the auspices of Anambra Peoples Assembly (APA), yesterday denounced the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, and his struggle for secession.
The Assembly, which declared that Anambra people will participate in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state, warned biafra agitators to maintain a distance from the state.
According to a statement signed by its coordinator, Mazi Nnamdi Okorafor, the group noted that the people of Anambra State are law-abiding and will not be dragged along by any individual or group of persons.
“I will assume that there are no men in Igbo land, if we allow a small boy to drag all of us into war against Nigeria through hate speech,” he said.

Okorafor, who noted that being Igbo does not automatically translate to membership of IPOB, said Kanu is not a leader of the Igbos.
”Nnamdi Kanu is making a fool of himself, very soon his paymasters will distance themselves from him. He and his illiterate minions will be dancing alone in the market square naked.

Being Igbo does not mean you are an IPOB member, neither does being an IPOB leader makes you the leader of the Igbos,” he stated.
He also described Kanu as a confusionist who suggest ideas capable of destroying lives, while he left his family in United Kingdom.

Why would the good, wise and hard-working Anambra sons and daughters listen to a guy man who kept his wife and kids in London come here to suggest what is capable of destroying the lives of young Anambra youths. Anambra people should not allow anybody to toy with their future and destiny,” Okorafor added.

According to him; “We agree that self-determination is the right of every person or group in Nigeria, that being said. We hereby declare that Anambra state has distanced self from Biafra struggle. All Biafra activists and agitators are warned to leave Anambra and return to their various states of origin. We are too big to be dragged along by any person or group of persons.

Religion / Has Life Circumstances Made You Complain Bitterly Against God? by Ctorch: 8:10pm On May 22, 2021
Has Life Circumstances Made you complain bitterly against God

Has Life Circumstances Made you complain bittter against God? Is what you are passing through in this life made you complain bittterly against God even to the extent of changing your name.

Let's look at an old testament figure in Ruth chapter one about a woman called Naomi. Naomi left Bethlehem Judah to Moab with her husband and two sons Mahlon and Chilon and there in foreign land the husband and two sons died-- Such a predicament befalling a woman at her age but something happened.

When Naomi began to sojourn back from Moab and if you read Ruth 1 vs 19 “ So they two went until they came to Bethlehem. And it came to pass when were come to Bethlehem that all the CITY WAS MOVED ABOUT THEM AND THEY SAID, IS THIS NAOMI?

Looking at the passage the people were moved and they began to ask questions
1. Is this how life has kept Naomi
2. Is this how Situation/Circumstances has mesmerized this woman
3. Is this how the world has turned against this woman?
4. Is this Naomi that we used to know?
5. Is this how this woman Naomi that left Bethlehem with her husband and two sons nows looks like?
Has people asked such questions to you due to your condition?
The bible said people were moved and started asking questions.

But something happened and Naomi in response in verse 20 said to them “ Do not call me Naomi ( To her Naomi meant something nice, good and noble), Call me Mara ( Bitterness) for the Almighty has dealt bitterly with me.

---Notice the emphasis she laid here “ For the Almighty has...” Her life circumstances has led her to complain bitterly against God.

She didn't stop here but she went further in verse 21 and said “ I went out full and the Lord has brought me home again empty, why then call me Naomi seeing the lord has TESTIFIED against me and the almighty has AFFLICTED me----Very touching.

Here is a woman complaining so bitterly against God due to circumstances inn her life because she thinks all hopes are lost.
Has Circumstances in your life ever made you to complain bitterly against God? Has life situation made you blame God in anyway?

At This Point Igbos Should Start Seeking for Igbo nation and not Biafra. Biafra is a total set back to Igbo nation. To me what Igbos should be agitating is Igbo nation and not some unholy biafra which stagnates them back in the name of Incorporating people who aren't interested in the said Biafra.

Seek Igbo nation and not Biafra.

2. Igbos at this point should seek for Igbo nation and stop dragging other Igbos who are not willing to be part of the new Igbo nation. It must be by choice and not by force as I see then doing most of the times online by dragging every tom , dick and Harry.

Let it be by choice and not force.

3. Igbos at this point must understand their worth and use countries with even a small population of 10 million and are successful as yardstick to understand that they already have the number. Their interest should be how to move forward and not dragging every tom like Nnamdi Kanu is always doing up and down.

Know your worth and Number.

But if you guys insist on this biafra of dragging every pieces or ethnicity all in name of biafra then it is quite obvious you guys are not serious.
Moreover it is your people that keep dying all the time then While not make the agitation solely about Igbo nation.

Politics / Delta State Governor Grants Judiciary Full Autonomy by Ctorch: 7:48pm On May 18, 2021
Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Tuesday said the state judiciary has been granted full autonomy to aid its operations.

“Earlier today, at a meeting with the Chief Judge of Delta State, Justice Marshal Umukoro, and other judges in the state’s judiciary, I was pleased to announce that in line with the law, Delta State’s Judiciary has been accorded full autonomy,” Okowa tweeted.

Okowa said the judiciary’s autonomy is a follow up to his signing of the Judiciary Autonomy law in January 2021.

The governor said he has directed the setting up of committees headed by the Chief Judge of Delta State to begin the process of implementing full autonomy for the state judiciary.

“As we work to improve our democratic processes across the board, we are proud that Delta State now has both a legislature and judiciary that are fully autonomous,” Okowa said.

Politics / Wike Fuelling The Whole Insecurity In Rivers State - Amaechi by Ctorch: 8:36pm On May 17, 2021
Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, has declared that “Rivers State is in total danger.”

Amaechi, who governed the South South state between 2007 and 2015, alleged: “A state with very high unemployment rate, where one man collects other peoples’ land and builds whatever he likes, yet no body is talking, signals serious danger.”

Speaking yesterday in Port Harcourt at the state office of All Progressives Congress (APC) when some top members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) decamped.

The decampees were two former commissioners in Governor Nyesom Wike administration. They included Dr. Reason Onya and Charles Nwaorgu.

The minister said: “Rivers State is in danger completely, a state where properties are collected, somebody is just building every where and no body is talking.”

He regretted that the state “is listed among the highest unemployed community in Nigeria because someone is just building roads.”

Though he did not mention name in his speech that lasted 18 minutes, the minister but observers believed he might have been referring to the current administration in the state.

There has been no love lost between Amaechi and the governor since 2015 when Wike succeeded the minister.

Amaechi continued: “When I was a governor, I did not only build roads, I (also) built schools, (supplied) electricity, (established) farms and created employment. Rivers was not listed among the highest unemployed community in Nigeria.

“The reason crime is high in Rivers State is because of unemployment. That is the reason we had the Songhai Farm. Today, the Songhai Farm is gone. That is why we had the Banana Farm that they stopped in Khana.

“That is why we had fish farms and that is why we were building a farm in Etche. We were doing all those things to create employment for the youths. That is why we hired 13,200 teachers and that is why we sent our children overseas to study.”

Governor Wike, had during a grand reception by the Ogoni people at the weekend in Bori, Khana Local Council, declared that “thunder would fire anyone who would dictate to the state the one to govern it in 2023.”

But Amaechi, at the event, maintained that he would support a riverine governor as a person, noting that anybody was at liberty to support whoever he or she wants.

He went on: “As Catholic Christian, I didn’t swear by thunder. I respected my elders. I never looked down on people because I was governor. I never spoke carelessly. I spoke with facts. I employed young men who must give me facts on every speech I make.

“I never slept until you slept. I was (always) on the road. If you remember, I never placed curfew, I faced serious security challenges but I told the army and the police to leave the road. We dealt with them and when they noticed we were determined, they left. I never slept at Bori Camp because of insecurity.”

REACTING, Wike said it was deceptive for his predecessor to attribute insecurity in the Rivers to unemployment.

In a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Kelvin Ebiri, the governor queried: “Is unemployment fuelling insecurity in Kaduna, Plateau, Borno, Yobe, Ondo, Ebony, Imo and Niger states governed by the APC?”

Wike said if Amaechi had any “modicum of sincerity”, he would attest to the fact that “security is the sole responsibility of the Federal Government.”

Politics / Nigeria Toeing Somalia’s Path, Anglican Primate Warns by Ctorch: 5:57pm On May 17, 2021
Primate of Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion ) , Most Rev . Henry Ndukuba, has stated that the most populous black nation was becoming a “ failed state like Somalia ” , urging President Muhammadu Buhari to tame the insecurity in the land.
Describing the situation as frightening , the cleric sought urgent convocation of a sovereign national dialogue to discuss the challenges confronting Nigeria with a view to forging a way forward for a better , safer and united country within the comity of nations .
He canvassed state police to check criminal activities across the federation.
During the church ’ s Second Session of the 11 th synod of Abuja diocese , yesterday , Ndukuba lamented that the attacks on communities , as well as alarming abductions , killings and rape were unacceptable .

He observed that the speed at which bandits and Boko Haram elements were occupying more states was disturbing, stating that that the open confrontation to Governors Samuel Ortom Hope Uzominna was an unmistakable statement that the citizenry showed that Nigeria was no longer comfortable .
The cleric enjoined the Presidency , National Assembly , military and law enforcement agencies to restore confidence in Nigerians .
He urged the state governors to sustain Nigeria ’ s unity by avoiding actions that threaten corporate existence .
Ndukuba said that there was an urgent need for enforcement of extant gun control laws , begging that the killer herdsmen must be disarmed and banditry decisively ended for the good of all.
The primate beseeched government at the three tiers to check movement of firearms , adding that the National Assembly could expand for arms for hunting to include self - defence .
He stressed the need for tighter border control , noting that the influx of people through the porous gateways was fuelling violence and insecurity in the country.
The Anglican clergy argued that the President Muhammadu Buhari regime , like previous administrations , had tamed corruption .
Ndukuba observed that though the current administration , in some ways, had made more efforts in tackling the menace , “ their pitfall is in the politicisation of the fight against corruption , ” adding: “ A selective justice is no justice. ”
“ The lack of transparency in the execution of some good programmes and policies leaves so much to be desired . When the armed forces complain that they are under - funded and do not have the weapons to execute the war against insurgency and banditry , it raises the issue of what happened to the $ 1 billion for equipping the military to fight insurgency . Nigerians will like to know what ( was done ) to both the budgetary and extra -budgetary provisions, ” he added .
Commending government and the Central Bank of Nigeria ( CBN) for stabilising the economy , the primate , however , deplored the high borrowing rate, even as he sought diversification of the economy .

Politics / How Etim Akpabio And Ofiok Murdered A Polytechnic Lecturer And Buried Him by Ctorch: 2:07pm On May 17, 2021
How Etim Akpabio and Ofiok Murdered a Polytechnic lecturer and buried him.

We murdered lecturer, sold his car & buried him with his phone

In the morning of November 19, 2015, Cyprian Anthony Edward woke up hale and hearty and prepared for work.
The man, a lecturer at the Department of Science Laboratory Technology, Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, Ikot Ekpene, bid his wife of six months, Blessing, and his little boy farewell.
He then drove out of his house in Ikot Editomi, Nsitubium Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

Unfortunately, that was the last time Blessing would see her 40-year-old husband alive.
He simply disappeared, along with his car, a Lexus 300 Sports Utility Vehicle. Every effort made by the family to trace his whereabouts ended in a cul-de-sac. There was just no breakthrough.
Blessing, the wife, told Saturday Sun that she reported the incident to the police and the Department of State Service (DSS) in Uyo, but that nothing came out of her efforts.
That was until recently, nearly six years after, when she was summoned by the Imo State Police Command to come and identify suspects arrested in respect of her husband’s disappearance.
The Anti-Kidnapping Squad of the Imo State Police Command arrested Ephraim Etim Akpabio and another suspect on March 17, this year in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State and Port Harcourt, Rivers State respectively.
It was then that Blessing and the rest of the family discovered how Edward met his end in a gruesome manner.

It happened that 28-year-old Ephraim Etim Akpabio, an ex-student of Akwa Ibom Polytechnic, conspired with his brother, Abais Ofiok Etim, to murder the lecturer. After killing him, the two brothers buried the deceased with his phone in a bush at Udung Ukim Community in Ikono Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
They subsequently took the deceased’s vehicle to Port Harcourt, Rivers State where they sold it off.
Akpabio’s younger brother, Abais Ofiok Etim, is currently being detained at the Ikot Ekpene Correctional Centre on robbery-related charges.
Saturday Sun gathered that on January 25 this year, Rev. Father Remigus Osuagwu, the parish priest of St. Thomas Catholic Church, Oboineze went to make a report at the Imo State Police Command.
He had bought a car, a Lexus 300 with registration number Delta SKL 531 FN at Port-Harcourt.

He wanted to change the documents of the car to his own name and he discovered through the phone number used in registering it in 2015 that the actual owner of the vehicle had been missing since November 2015.
Immediate past Commissioner of Police in Imo State, Mr. Nasiru Mohammed, who was redeployed earlier this week, told Saturday Sun: “Immediately the case was reported, I ordered the Commander of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Oladimeji Deyeyiwa, a Superintendent of Police, and his operatives to follow up on the case. They swung into action through intelligence gathering and Ephraim Etim Akapabio was arrested on March 17 in Ikot Ekpene.

His younger brother, Abais Ofiok Akbabio is currently in prison for armed robbery. Another suspect, Vincent Nsisong Udoh, 26, was arrested same day in Port Harcourt. He had stood as surety for Akpabio while selling the deceased’s car for N700,000. The two suspects are currently in police custody and we have recovered the deceased’s vehicle.”
Ephraim Etim Akpabio, the suspect, told Saturday Sun that he studied Business Administration at the Akwa Ibom Polytechnic and got an OND from the school in 2014.
“I knew the deceased, Cyprian Anthony Edward through my brother in 2011. He was my friend. He helped me in getting admission. Whenever I visited him in his house, he would cook for me and would always take care of me. He got a house for me when I got admission to Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic.
He would come to my room and stay with me and discuss issues with me. He promised to give me admission for my HND programme.
“I hail from Ibam-Edet community, Ini Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. It was on November 18, 2015 that my younger brother and I abducted the lecturer and killed him. We took his lifeless body and his phone to the bush at Udung Ukim Community, Akwa Ibom State. We buried his corpse with his phone, so that nobody can trace us.
“On November 19, myself and my younger brother drove the deceased’s car to Port-Harcourt in Rivers State. When we wanted to sell the car, we found the original documents in the car. We needed a surety to sign the document of the car, since the buyer insisted that the surety must be a resident of Port Harcourt. We contacted one Vincent Nsisong Udoh, who is from Akwa Ibom State but resides in Port Harcourt. I lied to him that I wanted to sell my father’s car and that he died and I wanted to use the money for his burial. I sold the car for N700, 000.
“The money was paid into my mother’s account. I lied to my mother that one of my friends was going to send money to me. That was on November 20, 2015. I collected the money from my mother and gave my younger brother N300,000 and took N400,000. I opened a barber’s shop at Ikot-Ekpene with the money.

“I was involved in another crime when I assisted my boss to arrange a hired killer to murder his opponent, but at the end of the day, the killer was arrested by the police. They came for me but I escaped to Lagos where I started selling ladies’ clothes. The police seized all my property.
“I never believed that I could be arrested. I believed there was no trace that I killed the deceased lecturer. I couldn’t believe it when the Anti-Kidnapping Squad arrested me in my girlfriend’s house in Ikot-Ekpene. I confessed to the detectives and took them to the bush where I buried the deceased. I want the family of the deceased and my mother to forgive me.”
Another suspect, Vincent Nsisong Udoh, 26, said he merely helped the brothers get someone to buy the vehicle, explaining that he never knew it was stolen.
His words: “I hail from Ikong Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State and I am a painter by profession. I reside in Port Harcourt. I came across Epharaim Akpabio and his brother who wanted to sell a Lexus 300 in Port Harcourt. They told me that they wanted to sell their father’s car because their father was dead. They told me they wanted to use the money for burial. I went to stand as surety for the documents which enabled them to sell the car for N700,000.
“They didn’t give me a kobo from the money. After five years, I saw a police detective who came to arrest me on March 17 2021 in Port Harcourt. The police said that I am involved in the sale of a stolen car. I was shocked, because I am innocent in this case. I didn’t get involved in the evil act that Akpabio and his brother committed in Akwa Ibom by killing the lecturer. I want justice to be done in my case.”
Younger brother of the deceased, Mr. Otobong Edward said the family had been in agony for close to six years.
