Lai Mohammed bashed for accusing Peter Obi of sponsoring EndSARS protest The professionals under the platform of Coalition of Nigeria Professionals for Good Governance (CNPGG), have called out the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, over a statement credited to him to the effect that the October, 2020 EndSARS protest, was allegedly sponsored by the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi. According to some online reports, Mohammed was said to have claimed that most of the young men and women that were at the forefront of the EndSARS Movement, are currently campaigning for the LP flag-bearer on Twitter, and other influential social media platforms. But CNPGG insisted that the EndSARS protest was a consequence of bad governance, occasioned by insecurity, youth unemployment, poverty and police brutality. According to them, the fact that the Minister had yet to deny the vexatious report credited to him more than twenty-four hours after, suggests that he, indeed, authored it. In the said report, Mohammed was quoted to have said: “Recent development has now unveiled the brain behind ENDSARS Protest in Nigeria which led to the destruction of Government properties and security agencies losing their lives. “Over the years, investigation has been going on in order to unveil those behind this wicked act just to tarnish the good image of President Muhammadu Buhari and his good works. “Mostly all the people and the misguided youths who championed the ENDSARS Protest are all campaigning for Peter Obi for President. All of them, no exception. That will go a long way in telling you that Peter Obi knows much about the ENDSARS Protest and those behind that ugly act must be brought to book to face disciplinary actions Reacting, in a statement jointly signed Dr Ado Manir (National President), and Dr Mrs Modupe Olalekan Mohammed (National Secretary), the Coalition said the unusual campaign was a spontaneous expression of frustration, disillusionment, and anger by concerned youths, who feared that the ship of state was navigating dangerously towards a precipice. According to the coalition, the youths, in their wisdom, initiated the movement, which was anchored on the urgent need to disband the then dreaded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), an elite unit of the Nigeria Police, which carried out serial abuses. The statement read: “Our attention has been drawn to a press statement credited to the Minister of Information and Culture, Mr. Lai Mohammed, which is currently trending on some social and traditional media platforms, alleging that the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, was the brain behind the EndSARS campaign that rocked the nation in October, 2020. “We are surprised that the minister has not denied the report that is vexatious in nature, and patently false in content, several days after. “This development is suggestive of the fact that he may have actually authored the unpatriotic and irresponsible statement, which flies in the face of reason and valued judgement. “Nigerians know that the LP presidential candidate, is a fine gentleman, whose uncommon patriotism is exemplified in his commitment to the Nigerian Project; a characteristic that is unparalleled. “While we are not holding brief for Peter Obi and his campaign organisation, as concerned Nigerians with vested interest in the Nigerian project, we will not be silent in the face of deliberate attempt at blackmailing a quintessential politician that the LP standard-bearer is”. It continued: “The EndSARS campaign was a carefully-planned and executed protest by frustrated and disillusioned Nigerians, who were, and have continued to be angry with the bad governance of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government, which Lai Mohammed, incidentally, typifies. The APC project is one that is characterised by failed promises and arrogance of power, which Lai Mohammed embodies. “It is curious that a man, who apologised personally and on behalf of the Nigerian Government for their failure, would now have the audacity to blame Peter Obi for instigating the famous EndSARS protest. “Nigerians are tired of insecurity and bad governance hence they have moved to take back their country from the likes of Lai Mohammed and his collaborators, and no amount of blackmail can stop the movement of a new and progressive Nigeria with Peter Obi as the captain. Nteje Community youths numbering about 200 staged peaceful demonstration on Saturday denouncing allegations that they are members of the proscribed Eastern Security Network (ESN). ESN is the militant arm of the equally proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra. The youths converged at the Divisional headquarters of the Nigerian Police Force, Nteje in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra. From there, they marched through the Onitsha/Enugu Expressway to Awkuzu junction before ending at Amaokpo, Orukabi village square, Ifite Nteje with banners and placards Addressing the youths at Amaokpo Orukabi village square Ifite Nteje, a senior police officer who requested anonymity commended the youths for their thoughtfulness to embrace peace. “The police joined you in this peaceful march to send the signal that we want peaceful co-existence amongst various warring groups in Nteje. “Youths the world over are agents of peace and development, but the reverse has been the case here for close to 10 years. “People have been fighting one another and some have been killed or maimed and property valued at millions of naira destroyed all in a bid for one group to exercise dominance over another,’’ he said. The senior police officer added that he decided that Amaokpo Orukabi village square, Ifite Nteje, be used for convergence so that God and the ancestors of the community would stand in judgment against those causing crises. “It is regrettable that the proximity of Anambra International Passenger/Cargo Airport, Umueri, to your community rather than being a blessing has turned to a problem. “Stop this bloodletting, emulate Aguleri and Umuleri people and make peace so that enduring development will be recorded in your community,’’ he charged. Charles Soludo, Nteje Community need your intervention.’’ Earlier, Mr Chinedu Okechukwu, leader of Nteje community youths said they held the march to dissociate themselves from the frivolous allegations that Nteje youths are members of ESN. “A faction in our community labelled us as members of ESN in the petition they sent to security agencies. “Acting on this frivolous petition, some DSS and army operatives came to our place on June 16 and in the course of the operation shot some people and rough handled our president-general. “As at today, two of the persons Oluebube Anukwu and Chinazaekpere Areh who got gunshot injuries have died with other still very critically ill in hospitals,’’ he said. Okechukwu who maintained that land grabbing was at the centre of the dispute rocking the community, appealed to Gov. Ebonyi State Government, Sunday stated that it decided to wade into the alleged “organ harvesting” case involving the former Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu in order to unravel all the facts surrounding the matter. Disclosing this in a statement signed by Dr. Kenneth Ugbala, Secretary to the State Government/ Coordinating Commissioner, Ebonyi State Government and copied to the British High Commission Abuja and Nigeria High Commission London, the State Government explained that it “has noted a lot of distortion of information in the Social Media and has stepped into the matter to unravel all the facts.” Ugbala expressed “confidence in the ability of the London Police to dig into the matter and to serve justice to all parties and nothing but justice.” According to the statement: “Ebonyi State Government has deemed it necessary to wade into the issue of Senator Ekweremadu who is an illustrious son of Igboland and one of their sons, Mr. David Ukpo Nwamini over the misunderstanding concerning donation of kidney in London hospital. “Ebonyi State Government has noted a lot of distortion of information in the Social Media and has stepped into the matter to unravel all the facts. “From preliminary investigation, Mr. David Ukpo Nwamini is from Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and was living with his junior brother in Ikotun, Lagos and was engaged in selling of phone accessories with his brother before he left for London. “From the information available to us, it appears that the said David Ukpo Nwamini is not a MINOR as his junior brother, he was living with is said to be above 20 years of age and if that is the case, then David Ukpo Nwamini might have misinformed the London Police or the London Police was very hasty in reaching a conclusion in declaring Mr. David Ukpo Nwamini a MINOR. From the records of David’s passport and testimony of Ebonyians in Lagos, preliminary investigation suggests that David is an adult who has a fundamental right to take decisions concerning himself. “From the account on Social Media, we observe that Senator Ike Ekwerernadu did full disclosure in his letter to the British High Commission in Nigeria in support of David Ukpo’s London Visa application with the sole aim of donating kidney to Senator Ike Ekweremadu’s daughter and so the issue of donation of kidney was never hidden by the Senator. “We, therefore, request the family members of Mr. David Ukpo Nwamini to please come forward for a meeting with Ebonyi State Government on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 in Abakaliki, Government House, to give us useful information to resolve this problem, and could contact the State Commissioner for Information, Barrister Uchenna Orji. “Without prejudice to justice being served on the matter and whatever may be the outcome, Ebonyi State Government stands with Senator Ike Ekweremadu and their own son, David Ukpo Nwamini and will do everything possible to assist both, while the case lasts and after the case. “We believe that Senator Ike Ekweremadu has not been found guilty as investigation is not yet concluded and do request Social Media to be fair in their reporting and to wait for the outcome of the investigation by the London Police.” |

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has reiterated that he is an Igbo man, but from the South-South region of Nigeria. Okowa, while defending his emergence as the vice-presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party that was condemned by Southern leaders. The governor said this at the Channels TV Politics Today programme on Thursday. Former Vice President and PDP presidential flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar chose Okowa as his running mate ahead of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel. In his reaction on national television, Okowa said there is no doubt that he is an Igbo man. Okowa said, “In the first instance, I’m Ifeanyi and there’s no doubt that I’m an Igbo man. I’m an Igbo man in Delta State, in South-South geo-political zone. BREAKING! $322.5 Million Abacha Loot Shared To 1.9m Nigerians - FG The Federal Government has disbursed the entire $322.5 million Abacha loot of 2017 to 1.9 million poor and vulnerable Nigerians. Before making the disbursement, the money accrued an interest of $11 million where it was deposited. Mr. David Ugolor, Executive Director of ANEEJ, an independent monitor providing independent report on the use of the funds, made this disclosure in Abuja yesterday. Mr. Ugolor told reporters that "the Abacha loot is exhausted. An interest of $11 million was accrued in the money where it was saved and it was disbursed to around 1.9 million poor Nigerians". Ugolor added that "no politically motivated data was used in selecting the beneficiaries; the National Social Register was used to determine those who will benefit and the register is updated regularly to remove those who have died". According to the ANEEJ Executive Director, "the Abacha loot that was recovered have been exhausted, we have a responsibility to inform Nigerians and then to make sure to tell them what the money was used for" He noted that, "it is a very controversial issue that people sit down at home and begin to point fingers that Abacha's money has been stolen. Buhari made the appeal on Thursday in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, after visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial. The president, who toured the permanent exhibitions at the Memorial, laid a wreath at the mass graves where more than 250,000 victims of genocide were buried. He also paid tribute to the memory of the victims and prayed for healing for the survivors. Buhari who spoke to newsmen after his tour at the Memorial noted that his greatest takeaway from the visit included the need for Nigerians to truly tolerate one another and for the nation to also preserve its own historical antecedents from the 30-month Civil War. He said, “I went through all the experiences from January 15, 1966 to date. I was a Governor, Minister, and Head of State and went through detention. I returned to partisan politics and will finish my two terms as constitutionally allowed. ‘‘We fought a 30-month bitter civil war and we killed about a million of each other. Nigeria went through this kind of terrible development process,” he said. Unknown gunmen have written letters to nine local governments in Anambra state, notifying them of their preparedness to attack them. The anonymous group believed to be responsible for disturbing the peace and security of the state, warned security operatives to get ready for action in ‘Biafra Land’. Among the local governments listed for attack include: Ihiala, Aguata, Nnewi South, Awka North, Awka South, Idemili North, Idemili South, Orumba South, Orumba North and Anambra East. According to them: “These local government areas should wait for us soon. We are warning our dear Professor that it is time for action and not time to speak big grammar and talking. Ebonyi and Simon Ekpa Dark Agenda Against Anambra: Charles Ogbu. Finland-Based Terrorist, Simon Ekpa Not Interested In Biafra, Kanu's Freedom; Wants IPOB Leader To Rot In Jail So He Could Take Over "After Anambra state governor, Charles Soludo visited Nnamdi Kanu in DSS custody as part of his hunt for peace, Simon Ekpa who has his own armed ESN militia for which he keeps raising money and leads a group known as the 'Auto-pilot which claims to be agitating for Biafra, made a live broadcast threatening fire and brimstone against Soludo. Less than 24 hours later (yesterday, Sunday 15th), mayhem was unleashed on major parts of Anambra state: Onitsha federal housing, 33 and GRA came under attack by Ungun Known Men. Idemmill North L.G headquarters, PHCN and Magistrate court were set afire while a sitting house of Assembly member representing governor Soludo's own constituency was kidnapped. At this point, we just have to tell ourselves the truth: What is going on in the Southeast especially Anambra state IS NO LONGER BIAFRA AGITATION. IT IS PURE TERRORISM. And governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo MUST TREAT IT AS SUCH. Simon Ekpa is simply a job man working for some interest to destabilise Anambra state. He doesn't really care about Biafra and neither does he care about Nnamdi Kanu. He is simply using Biafra agitation as a cover to ply his evil trade. Another uncomfortable truth we have to face here is, Simon Ekpa is pursuing a certain dark agenda against Anambra as a state. If you can't see this, you really haven't been paying attention. In the entire Southeast, there is no governor that is more Fuulani-friendly and anti-Biafra than Governor David Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi state, Simon Ekpa's home state. But how many times have you heard Ekpa attack Ebonyi state or the governor the way he does Soludo and Anambra?? As earlier as 2017, at a time most Igbo people were scared to be linked to Kanu, Soludo, as a member of a foremost Igbo Think Tank, Nzuko Umunna to which I belong, led a delegation made up of prof. Chidi Odinkalu, Tony Nnadi, Law Mefor et al to visit the IPOB leader in Kuje prison on behalf of the Think Tank group. They thereafter addressed a World Press conference categorically telling the FG that while the Igbos agree that Kanu is not above the law, they would also not sit back and watch him treated beneath the law. Since assuming office, Soludo has pandered to the agitating groups more than any other Southeast governor. He has called for Kanu's release. He has even visited him. And remember, Soludo was not in power when python dance happened so he couldn't have been a part of the governors who mismanaged the Biafra agitation [b]So why exactly is Simon Ekpa so fixated on Soludo and Anambra state? The answer is simple: Ekpa is not interested in Biafra or Kanu's release. In fact, he wants Kanu to rot in jail so he could take over. For him, THIS IS PURE BUSINESS. USING NNAMDI KANU'S OWN PLAYBOOK AND BLUEPRINT of violent rhetorics, puerile propaganda, paranoia and foolhardiness of insisting on self-destructive path which majority of the mob interpret as being CONSISTENT, the Ebonyl-born finnish ex-soldier has almost succeeded with his soft coup against IPOB leadership led by Chika Edoziem and Emma Powerful. Now, majority of the mob who saw the agitation as a class warfare and would love to see everything destroyed so we could all start afresh, now listen to him. And with his own armed ESN and a radio channel, it appears his coup is almost complete. Now he gets to collects donation directly from diasporan Igbos WHO ARE MAINLY THE ONES FUNDING THIS VIOLENCE thinking they are supporting Biafra and still collect from his real masters. A betting man would bet that having seen Soludos intimidating plans to transform Anambra, some outside interest may have hired Simon Ekpa to destabilise the state and make sure the governor is never allowed to focus on development. As it happens, I am a betting man. Remember, Ekpa is a politician in Finland. Matter of fact, he contested the last election in that country. After IPOB repeatedly cancelled the Monday sit-at-home and even Nnamdi Kanu himself spoke against the sit-at-home through his lawyers, it was the same Ekpa who continued to insist it must go on despite the unmentionable cost in human and material resources Igbos have suffered as a result of that moronic policy. It was Ekpa who was against the Anambra election even after IPOB saw reason and reverse its 'No-Election order. The k!llng of INEC staff member in Imo was hailed by Ekpa and his Autopilot.
