It is sad that once again, Nigeria has laid bare for the entire international community our inability to manage our affairs. We canot even count our dead. ![]() Whilst Iranian Govt spoke a day or two after the incident clearly giving the number Iranians affected (fatality and injured), for Nigeria it is tower of babel and conflicting reports from various government organs responsible for the Hajj. * The Chairman of NAHCON (National Hajj Committee of Nigeria), Alhaji Abdullahi Muktar Mohammed, NAHCON says 54 died * Radio Nigeria 7am news bulletin quoted Nigerian Saudi Embassy sources says it is over 60 * Vanguard says 20 died Who should we believe? Meanwhile the Amirul Hajj 2015 (The Nigerian Leader of the 2015 Hajj), His Royal Highness Sanusi Lamido Sanusi , Emir of Kano thought the most appropriate time to announce his new 4th under-aged wife is after such a major tragedy has occurred under his watch. He is more concerned about the pleasures of his joystick (d*ck), than the lives entrusted to his care. When will Nigerian leaders show some basic care for the people they claim to lead. The various State Amirul Hajj and State Governors (particularly Sokoto and Taraba) were more concerned about announcing to us the names Emirs, judges, and relatives of important figures who lost their lives as if the lives of other Muslims who perished in the incident are less important before Allah.

So Gov Rauf Aregbe still refused to pay? he made sure Osun muslims in the state civil service celebrated this sallah in empty stomachs. Nigerian politicians are really wicked. |
Dem swear for this Aregbe and debt. I hear he has threatened to unleash his thugs know as Osun Boyz on Punch reporter for writing about refusal to pay civil servants despite collecting the bail out funds. |
Baba time is running out ....... Do something.

abduljabbar4:That small, innocent girl who just finished secondary school is not up to 18yrs. Even in the North, people do go to school early these days. Majority of girls finish secondary around age 15-16yrs. If this is not true, how come all the Chibok girls were all under aged? Remember they were writing their WAEC when boko haram took then. 15 or 16 yr old is still practically a child.

crazygod:Burantashi knackking tinz. I feel sorry for her ![]() |
otukpo:I have been wracking my ahead about this as well. I thought they the won the power in May 2015. Why are they still struggling for it again ![]() They are killing each other over what is already in their hands!! Is this not the worst form of mumu or cluelessness. It is easy to win power, but knowing what to do with it is another matter altogether. |
TonyeBarcanista:I agree with the bolded, especially the fact that States are reading Buhari's body language (some call it body odour) and are aligning their actions or inactions to align with Buhari. Many of them have even refused to appoint commissioners because Buahri has not appointed Ministers at the Federal level. I also know that a huge tranche of the loans Fashola took ended up in Tinubu's pockets via the many sweetheart contracts between Tinubu's companies and LASG. But then, practically all states are also groaning under weight of loans taken by their predecessors. When you inherit a new government, you inherit both assets and liabilities. Besides, just like Gov Akpabio, at least we can point to solid things and infrastructure that Fashola put in place. What can we point to in Delta State for example? One or 2 useless overhead bridge, and rubbish BRT. Lagos is in much better footing financially due to their huge IGR. Hence, there is enough new funds coming in to meet ongoing obligations such as salaries. There is no reason Ambode should owe LAWMA workers arrears of salaries |
I don't excuse crime, but Gov Ambode has refused to pay LAWMA workers including street sweepers who earn a paltry N12,000 per month their salaries for many months now. How does he expect these people feed their families? School has just re-opened, many cannot pay their children's school fees. https://www.nairaland.com/2619807/governor-ambode-overwhelmed-cannot-run http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/09/day-lagos-street-sweepers-protested-over-non-payment-of-salaries/ |
slimfit1:Are you really serious about the bolded text ![]() Please speak for yourself. And if I may ask a very troubling question: Is President Buhari himself, strictly speaking, a saint? Let's kick off governance and get this country working, rather than this red-herring of looking for saints or angels as ministers. Ministers will be only about 36. Where will he get the over 1000 individuals who will serve as members and chairmen of MDAs, governing council of higher institutions and ambassadors? Buhari should do the vetting and screening that is within his capability, and information available to DSS and then proceed to appoint them. If anyone is later found wanting, either due to past misdeeds, or corrupt actions while in office, they should be prosecuted. That is what the laws of the land are meant for. There is no way we are going to wait until he is ready. What if he is not ready by 2019, will the nation be kept on-hold while waiting for him to make up his mind? Conversely, what if he wakes up tomorrow to announce to the nation that after diligent search, he cannot find one clean Nigerian to run a ministry or parastatal, will he then rule as a dictator? |
ephemm:I am sincerely praying that Mr President will prove me and millions of concerned Nigerians wrong. Nigerians voted Buhari into office primarily based on one key credential: Honesty & Integrity It is one currency President Buhari cannot afford to fritter away. The primary election promise of his election campaign was to clean the augean stable in conduct of government business and to rid Nigeria of corruption. The bedrock of all corrupt practises, nepotism (which nobody talks about these days), favouritism, and stealing of public funds (in whatever guise) is dishonesty. Hence, if Buhari builds the foundation of his administration and war against corruption on deception and lies, he would have lost the battle before it even commences. |
vikyno:They are all doing great, Sir. I just finished speaking to the malu's
|
In the heat of public pressure for President Buhari to form his cabinet, he promised the nation few months ago that he will announce his ministers and formally constitute his cabinet in September, 2015. He repeated that promise many times. Today is 28th September, barely 48 hours to the end of September. Will President Buhari be able to announce and get all his Ministerial nominees screened and approved by the National Assembly before 30th Sept? With the Current turmoil in the upper chamber over Senate Saraki's seat, and with most National Assembly members in Saudi Arabia for the Hajj, it is almost certain, the list will not be approved by National Assembly before Wednesday, 30th, even if the Buhari transmits the list to them on Monday, 28th Sept. Why is the President always leaving things till the last hour, or in many cases blatantly breaking his solemn promise to the nation? This attitude of taking his promises lightly is not helping his credibility at all.

BREAKING NEWS: 220 Killed, 400 injured during Hajj Stampede in Saudi Arabia See more at: http://www.lailasblog.com/2015/09/breaking-220-killed-400-injured-during.html#sthash.60eJM7Pm.dpuf More than 200 people have died and 390 injured in Saudi Arabia after a stampede of pilgrims at the desert plain of Mina, near the holy city of Mina, near the holy city of Mecca. The incident took place as almost 2 million people arrived in Saudi Arabia to make the Hajj pilgrimage in honour of Eid al-Adha, the Muslim feast of sacrifice. This is one of the worst incidents in years to hit the annual Hajj in Saudi Arabia, officials said. Saudi Arabia’s civil defence service released the toll and said rescue operations were under way. It was not immediately clear what had caused the stampede. Pilgrims had converged on Mina just outside Mecca on Thursday to throw pebbles at one of three walls representing Satan, the symbolic “stoning of the devil” that marks the last day of the event.

saytan:And your name is saytan !! ![]() How ironic!! |
Aregbe is threatening Punch reporters with Osun boys (thugs) for asking him to pay his civil servants |
Ambode stop all these picture taking. You are not a diplomat. Wake up and start working. Lagos is going to the dogs. #AmbodeWakeUp |
Ehen! They have started milking the first family already. Smart Igbo woman (Nkechi Azinge). When her Father was not yet President, they did not go to make Ambassador. Very soon they will organise fund raising shindig, and the high and mighty will fall over themselves to make donations to impress Zahra's father Vanguard:

#AmbodeWakeUp Source: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/09/fears-as-lagos-records-new-bird-flu-cases/ New incidences of bird flu have been recorded in Lagos state, with an estimated 60,000 birds already affected, the News Agency of Nigeria reports amid mounting fears and panic. Executive Secretary of the Poultry Association of Nigeria, Lagos State chapter, Mr. Olugbenga Ogunsetan, confirmed this yesterday in Lagos. He said several poultry farms were affected by the avian influenza in Ikorodu area of the state. “Over 60,000 birds were lost in August after the avian influenza ravaged the farms. “This has largely affected production of poultry products and leading to price hike in the area,” Ogunsetan said. cc: dominique, Sissy3

stevecantrell:Correction: Ambode will be 5 months on seat in next 2 weeks, not 3-4 months (whatever that means). It is obvious that in the tail end of the last administration, all funds and efforts were channelled into the elections war chest. Now elections are over. What stops Ambode from paying salaries during his own last 5 months. Is he waiting for Fashola to come and clear his own arrears before Ambode starts paying? Let us not defend the indefensible. #AmbodeWakeUp |
stevecantrell:Obviously Nigeria is on Auto-Pilot. Thought we have new Sheriffs in town, and one of them is Ambode. Or are they sleeping Sheriffs? So GEJ is still running Nigeria from Otuoke? Tell me something!!
|
stevecantrell:Hope you know street sweepers in Lagos State earning a meagre N12,000 per month have not been paid for over 6 months. Who do you expect will come and sweep the streets and clear the drains? Aliens from outer space Supervisors whose salary is a shameful N20,000 per month are not being paid either.http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/09/day-lagos-street-sweepers-protested-over-non-payment-of-salaries/ The poor street sweepers in LAWMA have been protesting and raining curses on Ambode. Despite several empty promises, they are yet to be paid. |
This is a false and planted story. The picture at the source website clearly shows the picture of the woman's corpse, which just happens to be that of a man. Next to him is another man lying down on the road next to the "corpse".

Ambode wake up ooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Eko oti baje ooooooo ![]()
|
Drains in Awolowo Road linked by Falomo roundabout to Bourdillon Road where Ambode's political mentor, ex-Gov Bola Tinubu resides are now festering greenish sewer clogged up by filth and plastic bottles. Governor Fashola constructed this beautiful modern dual carriage road (Awolowo Road to Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi) all the way from Lagos Island to new Lekki-Ikoyi bridge in Ikoyi to please Tinubu. That bridge alone is a new iconic Lagos landmark. But it looks like the sleeping governor Ambode is set to allow all these achievements to decay.

By now it would have dawned on Lagosians that the dour and colourless fellow they elected in the wave of change euphoria in April elections clearly does not have both the intellectual capacity, political sagacity, experience, and the planning skills required to run a complex and modern economic powerhouse like Lagos State. Compared to his dynamic and cerebral predecessor, Raji Fashola, it appears Ambode has been sleep walking since he took office at Alausa. Nothing seems to be moving. Previous policies and initiatives by Fashola are not followed through, contrary to his election campaign mantra of continuity. The fellow mostly looks clueless and bumbles along without clear direction. Following evidence speak for themselves. Ambode needs to wake up: 1. Street sweepers have not been paid since he took over. Streets and drains are filled with filth and plastic bottles. In Fashola's time these drains and major channels would have been cleared before commencement of rainy season. 2. Many street lights do not come on any longer. Apparently, the generators are no longer maintained or fuelled. 3. LATSMA is practically comatose. They should look on helplessly as danfo drivers flout the rules, park anywhere to pick and offload passengers. I understand LATSMA are also being owed salary arrears. 4. Pot holes are opening up on Lekki-Epe Road, around law school and after Lekki Phase-1 area. 5. Work on Lekki-Epe expressway has stopped at Ajah roundabout. 6. He is compounding traffic problem on Apapa road by his military style night-only movement which is being ignored anyway by truck drivers. The resulting traffic jam especially in the morning has made many to resort to trekking to work. 7. He is completely beholden to Remi and Bola Tinubu who seem to be micro-managing him. 8. Since he came on board, he has been busy unravelling business deals which was not favourable to Tinubu business interests (Falomo Shopping Centre, New Tejuoso Shopping Complex, etc). 9 Has not articulated any cogent and consistent policy framework on how he will move forward the laudable initiatives of Fashola's govt: Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lagos Light Rail System, etc 10. Previously cleared and beautified criminal hideouts and parks and now back to their earlier filthy look. Go to Oshodi and see the dirt, grim and traffic jam there. Muri Okunola Park in VI is now inhabited by squatters and miscreants. The stretch of Cowrie creek lagoon front between Oriental Hotel and Lekki Phase-1 is now a refuse truck marshalling area for Tinubu's refuse collecting company, Alba Nigeria Ltd.refuse truck company. The grassy area is littered with all kinds of shacks and shanty homes constructed by squatters. Needless to say, the area is thoroughly messed up by the squatters defecating everywhere. 11. Crime wave is on the upsurge again in Lagos. Kidnapping, Yahoo-yahoo, armed robbery in broad day light on 3rd Mainland Bridge and other traffic jams, is now a daily occurrence. It does not make it to headlines any longer. 12. Prostitution is booming in previously high brow areas of Lagos. In fact prostitutes have taken over Oniru area, a highbrow area nestled between Lekki and Victoria Island, and Lekki Phase-1. Drive along Admiralty Way at night and weep. This is the newest red light district of Lagos similar to Allen Avenue in Ikeja. A new creation of Ambode’s administration due to joblessness. Property values will sonn nose-dive once prostitutes take over the area. Ambode need to contact Gov Ayade of Cross River for tutorial on how to deal with this menace.
