I personally believe Ambode is overwhelmed with the enormity of the responsibility. He simply does not have what it takes to continue the good work Fashola started, or to run a state as complex as Lagos. |
Omotolu:This is how we encourage our leaders to keep deflecting and shifting responsibility. More like a child who fails his exams woefully. On getting home, he justified his woeful performance on the fact that other students also failed. His parents will be like: *I sent you school to go and pass, not to go and fail like others* * Gbosaaaa with hot slap to the cheek *

gboss4sure:Correction: Iyaloja GENERAL of Nigeria That word "GENERAL" in her official title is very important. It is what gives her the authority to act with impunity. Enjoy the Change.... |
JewelRegi:Or rather, what did he achieve in his last tenure as governor that was so ground-breaking that he wants to come back. Can't survive outside government house? |
Gov Aregbe knows how to take holiday trips to exotic tourist destinations to ride camels, but has refused to pay his civil servants

Osun State Governor is a good Muslim by all accounts. Sallah celebration is probably the most important religious event in the Muslim faith after Ramadan. Even Christians and animists also feel the sense of celebration and goodwill. Sallah greetings and gifts are freely exchanged. Unfortunately, my heart goes out to the long suffering civil servants and teachers in Osun State who are being owed over 6 months of arrears in unpaid salaries. Bail out funds specifically released by Federal Govt have been received in Osun State, but warehoused in a commercial bank. Governor Aregbesola has stubbornly refused to pay the poor and downtrodden workers. This is a man who lived and cut his political teeth in poor neighbourhood of Mushin, Lagos. He projects himself in outlook, mien, and dressing as being conversant with the feelings and agony of the poor. So why is Aregbesola so intent on inflicting pain and suffering on citizens of the State of Osun? The education sector is practically comatose. This month lecturers in the state's tertiary institutions had to embark on a sit-down protest at State House of Assembly over 8 months of unpaid salaries. Not long after students in secondary schools took to the streets of Osogbo to protest the draconian and crude policy of "show your parent's tax clearance certificate" by Gov Aregbesola. https://www.nairaland.com/2598927/osun-lecturers-protest-unpaid-salaries As of November 2014, Gov Aregbesola illegally cut the meagre pension of retired workers by a whopping 50%. Many have died of hunger because they cannot feed on the paltry sum after the cut. If this is not wickedness, then I don't know what else is. All over the world, leaders protect the weak, the infirmed, and old people. In the State of Osun, those are the ones in the firing line. http://www.punchng.com/news/salary-cut-ii-lead-to-chaos-workers-tell-aregbesola/ https://www.nairaland.com/2425186/osun-nlc-resist-alleged-plan#35454811 It looks like Muslims in Osun will celebrate this Sallah in empty stomach and gloom. And this punch in the stomach is being delivered by a sitting Muslim governor ![]() The pertinent questions we should ask Governor Aregbesola are: 1. Has the Governor paid himself his own salary entitlements? 2. Will the Governor slaughter rams in his own house to celebrate this Sallah with his family? cc: Ishilove

Source: Guardian The Administrator Grace High School, Gbagada, Lagos, Mrs. Tokunboh Edun, has explained that the school will continue to teach her students Chinese language, also known as Mandarin, despite criticism by stakeholders that Nigerian children are learning more foreign languages at the expense of indigenous languages. Edun spoke in Lagos at the public presentation of Chinese Made Easy, a book written by Mr. Olaniyi Banwo of the University of Lagos. The book, which translates Chinese words into Yoruba, is meant to teach Yoruba speakers how to learn Mandarin. According to Edun, those who are complaining against exposure of Nigerian students to foreign languages are not mindful of current trends in world policies and business. She disclosed that Grace High School became the first private school to introduce Mandarin to Nigerian students because the school is aware of latest trend worldwide. She added that “right now, Europeans and Americans are learning how to speak Chinese language because of the giant strides attained by china in global business and International relations. Learning mandarin has become a global trend which cannot be ignored by those who want to play an effective role in global business.” Mrs. Edun said she has discovered that students who can speak major international languages like French, English and Chinese often have an edge in terms of competition for international jobs. “A mastery of Chinese language gives the speaker access to business opportunities in the most populous country of the world.” The school administrator, while commending the author for making Chinese language easy to learn by Yoruba speakers and making Yoruba easy for mandarin speakers, gave three reasons Nigerians should take learning of Chinese language as a serious business. First, she observed that the Chinese are making rapid in-roads to Africa. In recent past, the latest data indicates that China is clearly emerging as Africa’s biggest trading partner. Also she observed that Chinese investment in Africa is expanding in many sectors like Agriculture, Industry and Social infrastructure. Edun also noted that even in terms of population, it is a known fact that one out of five human beings is a Chinese. |
PublicAssurance:They are laying the ground work for mis-using and mis-applying funds. I will not yet accuse Buhari that he is planning to loot. The problem will be that thieving and vindictive midget governor of Kaduna State El Rufai, Emir of Kano Sanusi Lamido, and former IG of Police under Abacha (Ibrahim Coomasie) and former Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) Chairman who are his inner caucus advisers. The idea is to pretend to be locking the front door with this so-called TSA policy, while leaving the back door wide open for funds to flow out to whatsoever they want to do with it. |
modath:True GEJ drew up the framework for TSA early this year. He did not have the time to implement it. Elections were already at hand. |
Oh my good Lord!!! NNPC excluded from TSA ![]() We thought NNPC was the capital of corruption Buhari, El-Rufai and Oshiomole were screaming to high heavens do not remit federal revenues. Hence, the whole TSA thing was principally targeted at NNPC to ensure all federal revenues are remitted. It is always to scream transparency and probity from outside. When you are in charge the sweetness of the juice and the slush funds in NNPC is just too tempting to aggregate in TSA and throw it open for public scrutiny. What really are they trying to hide ![]() Chai!!! We have been scammed again ooooooo I weep for Nigeria. |
Nafizzey:Not the real TonyeBacarnista. Some fake as.s mofo is cloning his moniker |
Kundagarten:Or as a Master Snake Charmer, to bring out snakes to scare the Boko Haram terrorists. |
T0nyeBarcanista:This is a sickening and weak attempt to impersonate someone else, and post views which are contradictory to @TonyeBarcanista known views to rubbish him. It is very clear that this new moniker T0nyeBarcanista is not the same as TonyeBarcanista. He has replaced the, 'o' Tonye with the number zero '0'. This fraudulent, and should not be tolerated in NL. Moderators should do the needful and ban the handle T0nyeBarcanista |
Ezenwammadu:Precisely my concern. For the Chief of Army Staff, Maj Gen Buratai to join the picture taking craze of politicians rather than face the war squarely makes one worried. To begin to brag about his snake charming skills makes one wonder if he wants to fight Boko Haram with snakes or bullets ![]() |
Dottore:They are not ritualists. Its their way of life up North. Very normal practise there. |
stanech:Hahahaha. ![]() The real word was "E.RECTION". NL auto-correct changed it to "attention". Anyway, in another sense maybe NL is correct. Because when you have "Ere****n", offcourse it is usually at "attention". Gerrit?? |
Great wisdom can indeed come from the most unlikely of sources. Does anyone know PMB's email address? Please forward to him. |
See the plastic smile on VP Osibanjo's face, the type Tom spots any time he fights with Jerry, and then makes up. You know the truce between Tom & Jerry never really endures The Director of this Nollywood movie should have told them just kiss so we can be convinced there was no quarrel between them. Can anyone in the house create a cartoon meme of El-Rufai and Osibanjo kissing each other? That will be a great TGIF comic relief

I don't understand. I thought they said Akpabio was declared wanted by EFCC, DSS, London Police and Interpol? How come Sahara Reporters was able to locate him at a London hotel lobby, take pictures, and even call him to do an interview ![]() The propaganda machine is kicking into high gear. Once they target you, you cannot even eat pounded yam in your house without a false story being weaved around it. Why is debit card maxing out such a great news ![]() |
NewNigeriaMind:When incidents like this happen, those inside the meeting will definitely narrate the event to friends and associates who were not present. That is how these things get into the public domain. You don't begin to name names and reveal sources. |
doublewisdom:Don't mind them. Photoshop stuff. Trying to deceive the gullible public with cheap propaganda. The Sahara Reporters write-up said Akpabio was wearing a blue sports jacket. The posted picture at Sahara Reporters which the OP has copied clearly showed someone wearing a grey jacket. Once they target someone, even if the person sneezes, they will weave a story around it. |
onlyme12:The original story was posted in Sahara Reporters. The write-up said Akpabio was wearing a blue sports jacket. The posted picture at Sahara Reporters which the OP has copied clearly showed someone wearing a grey jacket. When will Sahara Reporters stop creating Photoshop images of people and weaving false stories in their targeted political mudslinging. It is obvious Akpabio and Saraki are on Tinubu and Sahara Reporters political cross hairs. Expect more dirt and cooked up stories to rubbish Akpabio and his achievements as governor

lorRhyMeZ:Don't defend the indefensible. No court in Nigeria has ever given a ruling that schools and hospitals owned by an organisation where the leaders have issues should be closed down and the patients and pupils should be distributed to other hospitals and schools if they choose to exercise that option. What usually happens is that the judge issues an order binding the litigants to maintain the status quo. The state security council is not wiser and definitely not superior to the supreme Court. In any case, is the governor not preempting the Supreme Court? What the midget governor has done is to effectively rob the noses of the revered Supreme Court judges in the dust. It is a very dangerous precedent. I expect The learned JSCs to issue an order asking the governor to remove his leprous fingers from a matter that has been properly brought before them. |
obstead200:Are you listening to yourself? So if you belong to any organisation, and the leadership have disagreements you will immediately stop associating with or being a member of that organisation abi? If you work for a company, and at any time the directors disagree you will immediately resign abi? If commissioners or house of assembly members disagree or quarrel with your state governor you will relocate to another state abi? Any time you quarrel with your wife, all your children should pack their loads and relocate to your neighbours house abi? Or better still, your state governor should come and dissolve your marriage even if the matter is in court, abi? No sir, I definitely I agree with you, Imams and Alfas have never quarrelled before because they are aliens from outer space, not human beings The level of reasoning of some Nigerians is so shallow you feel like shedding tears for them. Mtcheeew |
Certainly Christians are cowards. If a Christian governor dare shut down any mosque in this country on the flimsy excuse that the Imams in the mosque are quarrelling, the whole country would be on fire by now. By now churches and shops owned by Christians and Southerners will be burnt and Southerners slaughtered like ram. Change has truly arrived. Enjoy it or shut up!! |
atbu1983:If the matter is before the Supreme Court then why is the governor interfering. Does that amount to contempt of court? I believe the leadership disagreement started years ago before El-Rufai came into office 3 months ago. If the parties were law abiding and patient enough to pursue their issue from high Court, through Appeal Court and now they are in Supreme Court without resorting to violence why is Mr Governor now jumping into a matter that is before a court of competent jurisdiction? The governor is playing out a script. |
TonyeBarcanista:This is beyond a laughing matter. It is a big slap and a fat insult on the collective intelligence of the igbo nation. If I was an igbo I would be fuming with anger and not laughing over this insult. |
Aisha herself was a child bride. She is putting her husband at risk. That serial child rapist ex governor Sani Yerima from Zamfara and ex Kogi governor Audu should be the first to be prosecuted. They both married 12 year old children from poor Egyptian parents. I struggle to understand what these prominent Northern elites enjoy from defiling small children ![]() |
uselessgoat:Really With a moniker like yours, I'm not surprised with your comments. I pray God will grant you some sense, and change you from "useless goat" to a real human being |
National Museum should restore and preserve these vehicles in National Museum to preserve our history |
These are expensive classic cars rotting away.
