glitest: You're still a virgin?.Are u surprised? You must be a scientist |
PerfectFortune: No negotiation as you said but what is the effective way out?Who should carry out this your order? Why not go and send him out of the Villa yourself. Abi you no get hands and legs? You don't care who goes in |
NgeneUkwenu: Calm down, It's all about the 2015. APC' silence in the matter is goldenWhat's so secret about the so called 'intrigue'? It's all about snatching Adamawa State back through the back door. Ribadu contests on PDP platform, wins, then strolls back with the mandate to Tinubu. That way PDP does all the hard work, APC simply sits back to reap the fruit. Chikena! Next intrigue, please. |
AZeD1: I don't care what anybody would have said, the fact that the DSS didn't arrest the person means someone else will try next year and who knows what will happen then.Use your brain, man. You can't arrest someone based on phone call evidence. Nigerian politicians are adept at using surrogates for their dirty jobs. Even if the call was recorded, the gsm number is not registered in their name. And certainly they won't deliver the physical cash themselves. These people are not stupid. @atlwirles is right . If you arrest any high ranking political figure in Osun state in the heat of the election, the media and everyone will go into overdrive accusing govt security agencies of intimidating opposition figures. If you name the person, he will sue for defamation of character. Think man. Think. |
ogtavia: This exaggeration is too much..Strictly speaking, it made me wonder. He made that comment live on Channels TV as part of their media event during roll out of PayPal. He is FBN top official, so I expect him to have his facts correct. |
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/08/ebola-bayelsa-checks-outbreak-103-surveillance-centres/ BAYELSA State Government, weekend, said it has set up 103 surveillance centres in all the local government areas of the state as part of measures to check any outbreak of the Ebola virus in the state. The state government also called on the people to imbibe the culture of personal hygiene to assist in the prevention and spread of the deadly virus. Source: Vanguard, Punch, ThisDay. Good move. When will we see similar action from other border states like Cross River, Adamawa, Sokoto, Katsina, Ogun, Kwara, etc? Lagos was in the forefront. |
I am really sad an appalled at how brazen people will sieze any national situation to score cheap political points and disparage the federal govt all because of the mad quest to wrest power from GEJ. Of all the national emergencies I have witnessed in Nigeria, FGN response to the Ebola threat stands out as the best so far in terms of: 1. The speed of FGN response was very good immediately the first case was reported. In a nation where it is very difficult to track the movement of people, the immediate identification and quanrantine of all those who came in contact with what is termed in medical parlance as the "index case" (the Liberian victim Mr Sawyer) was really commendable. In every outbreak of epidemic this step is always pivotal in stemming further infections. 2. setting up of quarantine centres to treat those infected. 3. Health minister's Collaboration and coordination of plans with State govts, especially the South West states. 4. Immediate commencement of screening of all airline passengers , especially those arriving from neighboring countries. This was widely reported by newspapers last week including the same punch that is carrying this obviously political stories by 5. Provision of protective gear for health workers at designated treatment centres. 6. Concerted public enlightenment to create awareness and advice the public of simple steps to improve personal hygiene and prevent spread. 7. Visit to and advise to religious organisations not accept Ebola cases, but to refer them to hospitals. I know that govt officials visited Redeemed Church of God camp ground who's convention was about to start and were impressed with sanitation measures being taken. As a result the GO of RCCG personally said that he advised his members from West Africa to stay away from this year's convention in Lagos. It is sad that rather than join hands to first attack this common enemy, the Lagos branch of NMA is dissipating energy organising press conferences tinged with political undertones. If Lagos branch of NMA had concerns about Ebola prevention, is grandstanding in a press conference the best way to go about it? Lagos NMA is answerable to thier national Executives. Did they channel their concerns to them. These people have unrestrained access to Lagos State Commissioner for Health and Gov Fashola. Did they make any attempt to contact these people? Obviously their press conference also indicted Fashola and LASG health officials because they are actively working with Federal Min of Health on this potential epidemic. Apparently Lagos NMA is not happy with the National body for calling of their ding-dong strike. All state chapters of NMA are cooperating fully Federal and State Govt health officials except Lagos chapter. If other state chapters behave like this how will the effort succeed? It is sad they are hinging their press conference on health insurance scheme, one of items in their list of demands that preceded the strike. Even this demand has been met. They are just demanding for documents. |
suwailad: This thread is not a job search zone. I did my 2 weeks at okpono okono oml 119,agip/npdc but that was i.t in 2009 though. samflexxy: Hmmmm money again let's go back to the days of coinsWe will need trucks and cranes to carry the heavy coins considering the amount of cash we spend daily. Head of First Bank E- business said recently on Channels TV that cash withdrawals from FBN ATM machines around the country averages N1 trillion daily!!!! It is a big problem. We need to rev up implementation of the cashless policy. |
Nigerian naira bank notes are some of dirtiest in world. Several microbial studies to identify organism they carry have been done many years ago before the prevalence of mobile communication and internet. Ebola is spread by direct contact with bodily fluids of carriers of the virus, including sweat. We all know how market women tie the notes in their wrappers and tuck it close next to their skin to prevent pick pockets. People lick or spit on their fingers to count money. I believe naira carries the spit of millions of Nigerians. Don't even think of those who pick thier noses, butchers and suya sellers who cut their fingers and you see blood stains on the monet, etc. You can add to the list. Besides, our naira notes are always damp and wet ensuring that pathogens like viruses have a conducive environment to multiply waiting for the chance to infect the next victim. I shudder to think of the mass infections. Please wash your hands and carry a small hand sanitizer bottle to rub if you touch dirty money. I really pity bank workers and those who handle bulk cash. |
emmanuel4758: The drug called ZMapp arrived atOutrageous!!! Please post link to your source. |
asadike: i believe by d grace of God and by d power of jesus christ dat nigerians are already immuned. Remeba dat d salt water rumour broke out and abt 90 per cent of nigerians administerd it. If tb joshua believe dat he can cure ebola wit anointin water,y nt beliv dat God has turnd d salt water 2 vacines 4 us.@asadike. Please Stop. God can indeed cure any disease. But HE did not turn any of the salt water currently being peddled by charlatans into Ebola vaccines. Haba!!!! Please don't misinform the public. |
GEJ has truly earned the respect and trust of Nigerians in conducting elections. He has presided over the cleanest and the most credible elections since 2011. If it was OBJ's time ?? First he will use Ribadu's EFCC to disqualify the opponent. If that fails, while vote counting is ongoing, Prof Iwu will simply announce a fictitious result in Abuja. That's how Col Oyinlola (now an APC sympathizer) became governor of Osun state. |
Lai-r Mohammed : An old hag with a special gift for dreaming up lies. All hail Nigeria's version of Nazi Joseph Goebbels. |
teeo: Good newsIntriguing thoughts. Or better still have Nigerian Counterterrorism Agencies consciously introduce it into Boko Haram camp. It will be quite an interesting sight to see Shekau and his murderous gang come out from Sambisa forest pissing and vomiting blood ![]() But then it is a double edged sword. They will certainly infect all the girls they are holding captive and also spread in the general population. BH are animals. ![]() |
wazoboy: Nigerian researchers should take some serum samples from these our brothers and sisters ASAP (USA must have done that since!), afterall if Liberia could infect us, then Sierra leone could help cure it!Spot on bro. The key to developing vaccines for tough viruses is to extract the serum of survivors, and use the antibodies therein for research and in the production of vaccines. If Nigerian researchers are smart they should track down all survivors and collect a broad spectrum of serum, since by now it is almost certain that the Ebola virus would have mutated into various strains in various populations. |
Chinwem: Yes I ve read about the wonder drugWe've only one confirmed case of Nigerian infection, which is this lady doctor who treated the Liberian man. She worked in a topnotch hospital in VI. If anybody should get the best of care I'm sure she did. Problem is EVD kills so fast . Internal hemorrhage just doesn't give doctors and the patient a fighting chance. Really feel bad for her. May her soul RIP. |
Toktee: The timid clown frm otueke has refused to be smart, look at him like amazonian. And what exactly is your definition of "smart"? |

Chinwem: Because on a good day healthcare in Nigeria is not very goodIt is not a case of healthcare being good or bad. Very few survive, the vast majority do not. Also, you should have read the post on NL about a top secret vial of untested new drug ZMP being administered on the American patient. |
Kanwulia: Instant death by suffocation!American passport indeed!!!! Whilst posting from Ajegunle Apparently in your remote corner of American-ajegunle you are yet to get the news of the Ebola patient in America. |
Chain !!!!!!! This Ebola is more deadly than HIV |
EngrAbiola: The National leader of All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday, said Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan was behind the abduction of the over 200 Chibok Secondary School girls in Borno State.supporter of APC MAN DON COME AGAIN ooooo. ANY TIME HE FINISHES A WRAP OF WEED AND DOWNS A BOTTLE OF REMY MARTINS, HE BEGINS TO HALLUCINATE ABOUT GEJ. |
talk2smat: Aregbesola said,Really!!! By Aregbesola's open admission, Oyinlola is a certified election rigger Yet they are so delighted to have him in their fold. Looks like Onyinlola has some special skills APC requires urgently. |
lyntiffany: I trust Akpabio I know what he can do, he's done it before he will do it again. He doesn't take any shit from this people. Months back he packaged some Abokis down to the north, those ones who does not have tangible thing doing, because it's likely that they are the ones that causes mayhem in the society. So my dear Governor took them back. The ones I know that are left behind are the mallams that owns a very big shop and those that sells food items. But all this abokis that stays in the bush at night and turns cobbler's in the morning is a no no for us, cos they are the deadly ones.Gbam! |
