Olaolufred: Thanks omooba77.
The tweet came from el- rufai and not bakare.
Even a call from bakare's assistant could have leaked such info to friends.

Why was it written in bible that Elijah did not receive naaman's gift. because whatsoever happened to public figure can never be secret.

My question to you: HOW DID THEY GET THIS IN RECORD EVEN THOUGH ELIJAH KEPT IT SECRET?
@olaolufred, you need to re-read the original post. Bakare, in his typical fashion of using his pulpit as a political platform, preached about the so-called cow gift in his church. He was not making any attempt to keep it secret.

Also, please cross check the biblical account of Namaan's gift to Elisha in 2Kings 5:20-27. The matter did jot become public knowledge simply because Namaan was a public figure. The matter became well known because of what happened to Elisha's servant Gehazi, who went behind his Oga's back ( the prophet) to collect the rejected gift. Elisha cursed Gehazi, because of that act, and the leprosy that left Namaan, in turn afflicted Namaan.

Note also that the prophet in Namaan saga was not Elijah, but Elisha.
Gehazi was a liar, and a snitch, and a tale bearer just like El Rufai. He loved sneaking into the palace of the king of syria to rat on his master (2Kings 8:4-5).

PoliticsRe: Is Ebonyi No Longer Part Of Nigeria? by cuteboy2: 1:16pm On Dec 31, 2013
JustBeingMe: Ebonyi state before it's creation was part of Enugu and Abia states. You can't imagine the level of marginalization and discrimination they faced under these states especially the Ezza, Izzi and other parts that were in Enugu state then. They didn't smell any government attention under these states. No infrastructures no nothing!

What Ebonyi state needs now is a young vibrant leader that has the passion to lift the state from the shackles of poverty especially in the rural areas. Sam Egwu really tried as the state governor cuz he started from the scratch to develop Ebonyi state. This present governor is a wicked old man. He practically destroyed everything Sam Egwu built. The Hatchery, Ebonyi Queens, the Cement factory, EBSU teaching hospital and other things.
Most of the roads in the state capital were built by Sam Egwu. Elechi and his son, Elechi Elechi have finished Ebonyi state. Ebonyi needs a good leader that has the interests of the state at heart. Dazzall.

#ProudlyAdaEbonyi
When people see me and I tell them I'm an Ebonyian they find it hard believing cuz they just can't comprehend how a beautiful and intelligent girl can hail from Ebonyi state. That was then people! Not anymore. Watch out for Ebonyians! cool
Correct. Ebonyi people were really marginalized by old Enugu. When Sam Egwu was there Ebonyi easily ranked as one of the fastest developing states. They were also in the news frequently.

However, they got sentimental when it was time to get a successor for Egwu, deferring to the old man Martin Elechi was one of the key agitators for the creation of the state. They made a mistake with Elechi.

However, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim former senate president and current SGF is from Ebonyi. Wonder why he is not doing more to attract development to his state.

I served in that state and I can tell you that their is nothing to report about that state. They are living in stone age and the funny part of it is that with the number of people i spoke to their, they seem to feel comfortable with whatever they get good or bad and they don't complain. They don't insult their leaders and they believe that even if their governor is not performing well, God will give them someday someone that will perform well.I remember the Ezza, Ezilo,Ameka,Ameri, ikwo people. They don't bother about anything, they just live their life and peacefully. If you hear Enugu people say "you this Abakaliki man" it's an insult o,it mean say you be mumu. They believe Abakaliki people too mumu.Abeg free them jorr, they are in a world of their own
Did my NYSC there as well. Your analysis is mostly spot on. However, it is not fair to say they are living in stone. If you call them stone age, what would you call the Koma people of Adamawa state who still go about naked?

Main occupation of these people is farming, so lifestyle is rural and agrarian. They work very hard in their farms growing yam and rice. The only sign of government are old colonial era schools, rented LGA offices, etco

ISpiksDaTroof: Let's not forget GEJ once gave Pastor Bakare $50,000 for "transport money". If he refused that kinda cash, what makes u think he'll accept ur cow?
And if Bakare supposedly rejected $50,000 earlier why would the same person offer a cow worth less than $1,000 down the road? The logical thing to do will be to up the ante, that is offer some thing far higher value than the initial $50,000. Please think.

This entire gimmick of offering and rejecting gifts is so lame, it needs crutches to even stand up grin grin

As we approach 2015, Nigerians have to shine their eyes because more silly, crazy and desperate publications on GEJ , his wife, and family will be released from APC bag of tricks.

My sister, don't believe all these bull crap. It is just another cheap gimmicks from APC cess pit of tricks designed to feed into thier stereotyping of GEJ and his govt as not being smart. This poor strategy of spewing lies at intervals will be their undoing in 2015. Why? Because it insults the intelligence of Nigerians since it assumes that Nigerians are gullible and will believe anything scandalous about a public official so long as it is published in the media.

PoliticsRe: Tunde Bakare Reject Cow From GEJ by cuteboy2:
eGuerrilla: The presiding overseer of the Latter Rain Church and the convener of Save Nigeria Group, Pastor Tunde Bakare has lambasted the Presidency for giving him a cow as gift this Christmas.

He told his congregation in Lagos, southwest Nigeria, on Sunday that he did not solicit for the cow which he said was dumped at the office of the Save Nigeria Group, SNG, in Lagos by people from the Presidency.

According to Bakare, “I had a cow from the Presidency. I didn’t ask for it. They dropped it at the Save Nigeria Group office… But is it cow that we need? If you check their books, one cow could have been bought for $5,000. The rest of the money is pocketed! We don’t need cow, we need a country that will move forward!”

He added that “they prevailed on me not to return it. Thanks for the cow, but no thanks! That means no cow for me next year (laughs). But we will have good roads, schools etc! We are the cause of our problems. We feel big when Mr President sends us hampers etc… We go to them for contracts etc… Until we change ourselves, we cannot expect change from those who lead us!”

He said the way things are going, very soon people in power will be giving out elephants as gift during festive periods, saying it was wasteful to give such gifts when the money used in purchasing them could be used to provide hospitals, good roads, schools, etc.

He announced that he was giving out the cow, adding that the problem with Nigeria was that the nation has low men in high places.
Inconsistencies throughout the story. See bolded texts.

(1) How can you "give out" a gift you rejected? Does that not amount to accepting it?
(2) He claims it was "dumped". When you dump something, it means it was dropped secretly by faceless people. How did the the same people who dumped something surreptitiously then turn around to plead with him to accept it ? huh
(3) How did he determine the cow droppers were from Presidency? Abi they wore Aso Rock face caps or tee-shirts? huh

Cheap popularity stunts. Rather than use the precious church service period to point his congregation to the Jesus who supposedly called him to preach, he is using the pulpit to score cheap political point. Pathetic.

ndala: Pastor Tunde Bakare rejects Christmas cow from President Jonathan

By Phillip Eta on December 29, 2013

Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir El Rufai, has revealed that Pastor Tunde Bakare, the General Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly, turned down a cow, which was reportely sent to him for Christmas by President Jonathan.

In a tweet posted on Sunday, El Rufai wrote: “Just learnt that GEJ sent a Christmas cow to Pastor Bakare, but Pastor asked – is it cow we need in Nigeria? Nigerians want good governance!”

www.nairaland.com/attachments/1488944_n2_pngf40190025275dc3489d324718bb5217b

It is believed that Pastor Bakare made this known to his congregation, as moments before then, El Rufai tweeted: “On my way Latter Rain Assembly to see my egbon, Pastor Tunde Bakare, by God’s Grace….” and later told his followers that, “Inside Latter Rain, Pastor Tunde Bakare praying for peace, stability and unity of Nigeria in 2014….that our nation gets capable leaders…”

It is public knowledge that the president and the fiery man of God do not go along well, so it comes as a surprise that he decided to send the gift.
Nasi-liar has come again-oooooo with his lie-lie tweets.
If GEJ sent Bakare a cow, you can be sure Tinubu and Lai-r Mohammed would organise a rally fast, with the presidential cow as the main speaker. They would then proceed to plead with the cow to decamp to APC grin grin grin.

This is nothing but a Holy Cow that haunts the dream of habitual liars grin grin grin grin. My belle wan burst from lafta.

We all want nigeria to be a better place yet when fraud is exposed, instead us getting interested in knowing if the reports are accurate we go about crucifying the whistle blower.

Now tell me with this kind of attitude we have do we expect well meaning nigerians to expose corrupt practices in the future?
That fact that his so called expose is inaccurate is the reason many people are having problem believing it. A claim he raised in Sept, and was addressed to his satisfaction, why raise it again in December publicly? Besides, the motive is wrong. This particular whistle blower is a fake one.

He was pressurized to change the number from $49b to $12b abi? Is a "missing" $12b any better than $49b? Even if he reduced it to $1b = N160b, is that any better?

eraly: So 50/12billion $ shuld jus disappear like dat? Tax payers money o

No 1da we ar where we ar.
My broda, I'm on same page with you on public officials accounting for our Commonwealth entrusted to their care.
The problem is rather than these people doing the job they are paid for and pampered with unbelievable perks of public office they are still hungry for more. And in their insatiable quest for more, will not hesitate to hanker to populist sentiments to further their ambition.

And in any case, who said $49 billion is missing? The man who made that claim has within a space of few weeks reduced it to $12b after being educated by another colleague in the same govt. That is 75% error in calculation with all the senior officers and experts at CBN under his control!!! Can you trust a subordinate or the Chief Financial Officer of an organisation to commit such blunder? Either the man is grossly incompetent or he deliberately cooked the figures to achieve his political objectives.

If $37b was not "missing", how are we sure $12b is "missing"? Strictly, the word "missing" is the political spin APC opposition in national assembly labelled it. Sanusi called it "discrepancy" in the books. But he is too politically blinkered or too lazy to sit down and reconcile the numbers, except Okonjo does it for him.

5thNOTE: Jonathan is another thing o. Who doesnt knw he is corrupt? Becuse we are standing against ethnic bias is nt a covering or a fair mark to his corruptness and D excess exhibited by his aides such as ministers. The money Deanizi or whatever they call her stole is it nt more than the missing $50billion.
And what evidence do you have of GEJ being personally corrupt? Do yoy know of mansions, cars, businesses he has acquired while in office. We know of Abacha loot, foreign accounts, mansions, etc. We know of IBB's N200m Minna hilltop mansion, watch factory in Switzerland, various businesses operated by surrogates when he was head of state. We know of OBJ's massive acquisition of shares in blue chip companies during the indigenization process during his 1st outing as military head of state. Confirm details in Chief Asiodu's memoirs. We know of the scandals around the corrupt channelling of funds to build Obasanjo library and Bells University during his 2nd outing as civilian President. So tell us what evidence of curroption do you have against GEJ?

If you claim Diezani has stolen billion s of dollars, where and which banks exactly are they keeping the money? In these days of extremely tight financial tracking by America due controls on terrorism and drug money, it is near impossible for anybody (or non governmental entity) to accumulate such huge amounts without attracting attention.

Poor bookkeeping and accounting of national receipts and expenditure by CBN, finance ministry, FIRS, NCS, NNPC, is a chronic historical problem which those agencies should get together, resolve and plug the leakage if any is detected. It is their primary role. Perceivd discrepancies in expected national receipts does not translate to increased bank balances of the president. Let's apply some reasoning before we make outlandish assertions.

1MCN: In a sane society, the opposition, ruling party, professional bodies, student groups and the entire people will collectively call for the withdrawal of the services of the CBN governor 'cause his letter betrays his incopetence and confusion. How can we continue to rely our national wealth in the hands of a man who cannot trace or monitor the whereabouts of our 2years national budget in just 18months! It's the President that should write the Bank seeking the information and clarification CBN had requested from the President in that infamous letter. Whether Sanusi had other superior intents he wanted to achieve with that letter only him and his clique can tell.
As for the SR, we've heard the conspiracy theory. No problem. When the chicken crosses the road then we'll get back to the why, when and how.
I believe he has other ulterior motives apart from investigation. It is not the 1st time he has done this grandstanding. He is definitely interested in the Emir of Kano stool. These days he dons the full regalia of his recent chieftaincy title to official functions, especially if it involves the press. This is unprecedented, and very strange. That outfit is rather awkward as an office wear. It is meant for traditional events or purely social functions.

Besides the emirship, I believe he has political motives as well. He is trying to position himself for something in APC. One way to assure this is send out signals that you were fighting perceived ills within the government.
