This is a sitting commissioner and member of the media and publicity of the lalong campaign group,is the church not supposed to be involved in politics? Don't mosques influence their members decision on voting? What exactly does he want to do if he is given the names? We are gradually slipping into dictatorship. Lalasticlala seun mynd44

Please I don't know what section this fits in,but crime I think is what this is,that is the only thing that can explain this wickedness by EKDC Good evening beautiful nairalanders Our community is/has been having serious issues with Eko Electricity Distribution Company, I stay in a small gated community called Losoro, in Lakowe, School Gate bus stop,Ibeju-Lekki LGA, our community is a fast developing community with many new houses built on a daily and people swarming in,however, one of the major problems of this quiet and peaceful community is the issue of light,in the whole of 2018,we have not had light for 1 month combined, not to bore you with laments, let me go straight to the point. Around January 2018,our community's transformer began having serious issues,it is not new,but lately, it has been very persistent, the transformer makes a loud bang and all the houses ut was serving was thrown into complete and total darkness,it will take at least 2 weeks before the EKDC will fix it,after fixing, it usually delivers very low current to most houses,so low you can't even see the light on the bulb at night, well,we didn't complain because it at least, charged our phones, but soon,it gets spoilt again not even up to a week after it is fixed, that has been the challenge week in week out until around May 2018,the regular bang happened again, this time, it was very serious, the bang was so loud,we complained to EKDC, they came, took the transformer away, promising to bring a new one,it never came till around ending August, when they brought our old transformer, repackaged and repainted to look like new, they fixed it,and in 2 days time,it produced an even louder bang, one that has never been heard, the community complained again, but nothing was done,we were in complete darkness till November 2018 when we decided to help ourselves and get a new transformer ourselves, even though it was in no way our duty as we pay the outrageous bills brought to us without a choice because meters has not been given to us, due to the recklessness and wickedness of our system, each house gathered the sum of N7,500 to purchase a new transformer which we got in December, we called on the EEDC officials to fix if but for weeks, they failed to, until we had to give them little cash, they came and fixed it but refused to power it on, what was their reason? They asked the community to write a letter saying they donated the transformer to EKDC as a gift and that we should give the receipt to them. We blatantly refused since we knew that it was solely the community's money,so the officials refused to power on the transformer,it has been lying there since Early December till date, unused. Few days ago, some EKDC officials came and removed something in the new transformer, the youths had to go to the office in anger, demanding that they return whatever they took off because it is not their property, it took lots of tempers flaring before they put back what they took, the community had to resort to hiring security for the transformer and are planning on making a caged house for it, little wonder they say We as Nigerians are our own Problem, how can we buy something with our own money and you will be forcing us to gift it out to you? We didn't ask them to be so useless in their duty, they know it may implicate them, that is why they have resorted to this devilish means of black mail, every house in the community now has gen, residents are complaining as fuel is not on the cheap side, every night, you can't sleep in peace as every house have their gen powered almost all through the night due to the unbearable heat in Lagos, I as a Videographer and Video editor spend thousands on fuel daily and it's really frustrating, sleeping inside the heat, pressing clothes has become a thing for the wealthy in the community, everything is just difficult, this is mans wickedness to man, injustice at its peak, we need to spread the word and save our darling community, aside from the terrible road conditions, this is our major challenge, lalasticlala please we need this to get to the relevant authorities, we have no other person or place to run to,we are frustrated, the wickedness of the wicked must come to an end. Senior pastor and founder of Word Assembly, Pastor Philip Igbinijesu, has described the Buhari administration as a locust, a disaster, and the worst thing to happen in the 21st century and has condemned Buhari as not having the education, capacity or experience to deliver the Nigeria of our dreams, the Cleric who turned 50 on Thursday, is well known for a video of him declaring that members without their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) will not be allowed to partake in the church's communion which went viral some months ago, made the declaration during the church's 10th edition of the annual Conference, the International Festival of Victory (IFOV) themed "Well Able - Capacity for More" , which has in attendance Ex presidential candidate Reverend Elishama Ideh has accused the Buhari administration of lopsided appointments and more. In his words "God forbid, and I say it with my mouth wide open, and anybody that wants to tweet it can tweet it and put it on social media, God forbid that Nigeria has another 4 years of this locust called Buhari administration" "The Buhari administration is one of the worst things that has happened in the 21st century to Nigeria, on every reckoning, they are not doing well, you give them another 4 years, and the extremism will be on the highest level" He gave thumbs up to presidential candidates of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) , Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) and Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), Kingsley Moghalu, Fela Durotoye and Oby Ezekwesili respectively, declaring them as his preferred candidates because they are Excellent and have the Intelligence and Capacity to rule, but also warned that they were allegations that some of these candidates were being sponsored to divide the votes and it is dangerous if these candidates and young people do not come to an agreement as they will be indirectly agreeing to the current administration,he also blasted the candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) and Sahara reporters founder Omoleye Sowore , describing him as noisy and inexperienced as he insults everyone. In the video, he described Buhari as thus - "This man does not have the capacity to produce a Nigeria that is better, if you don't have it, you don't have it, he doesn't have the Education and Experience, there is nothing on ground, not one thing that somebody can point to as a reason for him, the integrity that has been spoken about, all his compromise in the area of promoting only his people, has made rubbish of that integrity" Pastor Philip also said that there is no way the government can deny the agenda of Islamic fundamentalism citing the appointment of Matthew Seiyefa as DSS boss by then Acting President, Yomi Osibanjo and his immediate removal and appointment of Yusuf Magaji Bichi by Buhari on his return, as example. He also blasted a section of the Redeemed Christian Church, describing them, not the Body of Christ, as the highest beneficiary of the Vice Presidential sit. The onslaught of over 80 Nigerian soldiers by the bokoharam terrorists has been trailed with do much reactions, some of the angry military survivors were voicing their thoughts about how underequiped they were, saying most of their equipments were manufactured during the Abacha regime and has since been confirmed obsolete for use by the Nigerian army, the gallant men were pleading with the Nigerian government to interfere as those at the helm of affairs in the Nigerian army are diverting the money meant for weaponry for their personal use. We continued going and as the bike man expertly drifted, I was wondering, why is Nigeria so disorganized? How can some bunch of thugs just go to a beach that God gave freely, and ask people to buy tickets before going in, I now understand why my German friend Manuel was saying when we visited Elegushi last month and we were asked to pay before going in, he was surprised and was laughing, well, Benin just seemed perfect, light everywhere, clean roads, nice buildings, and beautiful ladies too, there was traffic along the normal road to where my host was so the bike man, who was extremely friendly, had to take an alternate route which he doesn't know too well, he was asking for directions after every 5 minutes and the people were very kind enough to take a minute out of their day to direct us, who get your time for Lagos? Everyone is naturally in a hurry, I still can't understand where we are all hurrying to, it was a struggle for me to get used to Lagos "sharp sharp" lifestyle when I moved here 5 years ago, as a man who spent most of his life in Jos where life was much slower, people were much friendlier and things were much easier, I noticed that almost all their bike men wore helmets and had the bike mirrors intact, in Nigeria, you are considered old school if you leave your bike mirrors on your new bike, well, we continued talking about the beauty of the country, when out of nowhere, the bike man said "Oga you fit come sleep for my house if you want, e dey close to border or if you no want I fit carry you go good hotel" For my mind, I was like, does this man know what he was doing? You just met someone some 30 minutes ago and you are already offering him a place to sleep? It seemed suspicious, I just said I was going to sleep at my host's place or at the Benin branch of YWAM, he said okay, we continued going, the journey was a long one, over 2 hours on the way but we finally got there, I paid him but he refused to leave saying he has to hand me over to my host since he just took me to where he was asked to take me, I met my host and we spoke a bit, his English was terrible, he asked we go inside but I noticed something, the bike man had a Jesus bracelet, had a cross and some other Christian things on him, he wanted going but something told me to stop him, I stopped him and told my host that I had somewhere to sleep, he shouldn't bother Tbc |
Okay, so I work in a Christian missionary university/organization called Youth With A Mission/University of Nations as an administrative staff in one of its branches in Nigeria, Lagos precisely, early this morning, I received a call from one of the Leaders of the university in Africa to run an errand for him at Benin Republic, woah!! I said, I never expected it, but as a disciplined son, I packed the needed and headed straight to Benin Republic from ajah, it was one hectic journey, but i wanted it. On getting to the border, I did the necessary things, was stamped in and off I went, I boarded a Hausa man's bike, was speaking English to him and he was calling big money for me, I was like, see this man o, to just cross border? I have everything complete o, my yellow card, my stamp etc, I am not asking you to smuggle me in, he was still speaking grammar, immediately, I switched to Hausa, as a man born and bred in the middle beltan part of Nigeria, hausa was no problem as I was fluent in it, the man was shocked to hear me speak hausa and he started laughing, well, at last, he brought it down to N500. So we crossed the border and my Nigerian sim started loosing service, the hausa bike man brought me to another bike man in seme, I explained to him that I needed to go to Market Otokpa and he said my bill was N2000, I was like "Bros you know how much I pay from Ajah reach seme? E no even reach 2k, you want carry me go Abidjan ni?", and he started saying that the place was very far and I will witness it myself, I noticed he was one of the few who could speak little English , I told him I wanted to get a Benin Sim card to call my host before leaving, he said that since I wasn't staying long there, I didn't need one, that he was going to use his phone to call my host, my host was an elderly man from Burkina Faso but living and serving in Benin Republic (those familiar with YWAM will understand), he couldn't speak good English, he could only say a few words, well, he ended up asking the bike man to bring me to his destination which was "Okotome" or something, suddenly, my bill increased from 2k to 4k, I was like, Bros I be like oyibo for your eye? 4000 cefa or naira?", naira he said, I told my host on phone again and he said that the man was even kind to me, that it could be more, well, I had no choice than to board the bike. I first asked that he takes me to an ATM, he didn't know what an ATM was, I told him I needed to withdraw money, "Ahh!!! POS" he said, I replied, ATM, not POS, he said it's POS he knows, then I asked, will POS give me money? Yes, he answered, so we went, I withdrew some cash, changed some to cefa, as I was changing it, I noticed our currency was higher than theirs, na there I begin feel oyibo, at least, my currency beta pass una own, that was what was on my mind, I bought a Sim card and we soon zoomed off, I had this bad impression about Benin Republic, I was expecting to see a terrible looking place, but only seme was an eyesore, I was fascinated by the amazingly clean roads, how organized the transport system was, how bikes had their specially created lanes, how organized there taxi service was, etc, I was like, see better taxi for common Benin, I was falling in love with the place already, the street lights was everywhere, even in some local looking streets, I was wondering when many Nigerian states will be like this, Lagos is just too disorganized to be like this, only Abuja could compete with the calmness here, we passed the sea port and the air port, it was quite beautiful, as we went, I saw a very big beach by the side of the road, no fence or anything,, "how much do you pay to get into the beach" I asked the bike man who was already forming a good conversation with me, "shi shi" he replied, just go anytime, everything na free", I was shocked, in most beaches in Lagos, you have to pay N1000 to get it, he started laughing, I noticed that the beach was clean, the sands looking radiant and everything just seemed perfect, beside the beach were volleyball courts, football pitch etc, I noticed new trees were beautifully planted in a very nice pattern, this place has captivated me. To be continued |
Please guys, how do I get to mile 2 from ajah? |
Immediate past governor of Plateau state, Air Commodore Jonah Jang (retd), Monday, submitted his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to run for the office of the President in 2019 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with a pledge to tackle corruption and put an end to the killings going on in some parts of the country, if elected. Jang who stated this at the party's headquarters in Abuja while addressing journalists, also took a swipe at what he called Nigeria’s gradual decent to a Banana Republic under the watch of President Muhammadu Buhari. The lawmaker further called on the leadership of the party to leverage on his experience as a retired military officer, who many years ago, administered some states that are today epicentres of violent clashes. “I have decided to join the race because I have seen what Nigerians are going through. Under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria is becoming a pariah state. Killings are going on with stomach of pregnant women tore open. “Any government that cannot guarantee the safety of lives and property of its citizens has lost its legitimacy,” he said, adding that if elected,The nation’s borders will be secured and we will run a people’s government. There would be an end to borrowing, especially borrowing without commensurate result to show.” Berating government’s anti-corruption fight, the Presidential hopeful pledged to wage a total war against the menace, saying what the APC government of President Buhari has done in the past three and a half years was to go after political opponents. He added, “Fighting corruption will be our priority but not in the way the present government is going about it. We will look at how the corruption begins in the first place. “I will create a system where owners of the money stashed away in foreign countries are engaged with those countries on ways to recover the stolen funds.” A believer in restructuring, the PDP chieftain further said the much craved idea would have to follow due legislative process, saying, “Restructuring would not be decreed into existence. It has to pass through the legal process of constitutional amendments. We will ensure that this country is restructured to give every part a sense of belonging.” He also promised to revive the education sector to make it address the scourge of unemployment in the country. https://www.viewpointnigeria.com/jang-if-elected-president-i-will-put-an-end-to-the-killings-and-tackle-corruption/ |
