All those places you mentioned have been having internal issues. I don't see such fulfilled individuals going for old hags save for some infinitesimal street urchins scrambling themselves out of poverty.

Second, when you say many men in Nigeria are out of work, I begin to wonder if unemployment is so discriminate that only men are remotely affected, and if that is the case, How is that tantamount to majority of Nigerian homes being clothed and feed by Nigerian women as your initial assertion claim.

Finally; going to low cost housing and seeing people not doing anything does not unequivocally mean that majority of Nigerian men are resting on their oars or abdicating their responsibility. those people you saw are just a palpable example of our economic reality, which more than a larger chunk of Nigerian men still find a way to circumvent even with their blood, just to give their family a decent life. While I wouldn't want to gloat; I must say that It's been touted by almost all and sundry that Nigerian men have comparative advantage in Africa, when scored in fending and taking care of their family, So, it's not only disingenuous when you use the word "many" in such reckless fervor, but also mendacious with crass disregard to hard working Nigerian men who take the toil to sustain their family in a society where women themselves constitute nothing other than redundant piece of human structure, While those women who stand as exception to the status quo, see it as a textbook crime against humanity-as you just opined-when called upon by circumstance to assist their family on interim base when their man inadvertently losses his job and in search of another, and I can't help but wonder the importance of society wasting critical resources in giving education and creating career path for women with this kind of mentality, when they consider it a taboo to be resourceful to their immediate family, not to talk of society at large.

The problem with Nigerian men being aversive about Nigerian women having rights outside the country is not out of feeling intimidated or having a manic crave for servility(though there's infinitesimal exception just like every other thing have got it own exception).

Nigerian women get overly inebriated by it that subsequently bring out a toxic edge which simply turn them to predators or DRAGONS as some choose to call them. then they plunge the marriage into an unhealthy competition(or dick measuring) with an antagonistic fervor, leaving men bewildered whether they're still dealing with their once loving angel or a rare specimen of human demon. That is why they go for foreign women who have the mental posture to handle such rights without getting inebriated by it.

Just recently a bossom friend of mine visited me in Nigeria to muster his life together. He fought in biafran war as a kid soldier, and manage to go through thick and thin of life to find himself in the US, though little advanced in age then, he came back to marry one Nigerian lady, only for her to turn into a black mamba and displace him from his own house just when he retired as an old professor suffering chronic stroke. I'm not even talking about what it cost him financially apart from the house; a handicap at that. His only saving grace is that I helped him invest here in Nigeria before the debacle.

The situation have culminated to bareface venality and unapologetic greediness. I can't remotely diagnose the cause, but that's what it is.
