Good morning everyone, Pls am trying to upgrade my account with WES to enable me convert ACCA to CPA. After picking course by course evaluation and professional for reason of evaluation. They said I have to submit another application. Please is this normal and does it mean I will have to send all documents all over again? Pls I will really appreciate your input Thank you.

Is this a new requirement? I didn't go through WES to do my conversion. Please go through the requirements on CPA website to make sure you are not doing more than required.

Thanks

Any successful visa application will get 10 years. Note the successful though as I know of students who have been refused. I renewed my U.S. visa in Toronto in April and I saw a Nigerian student refused as well as another lady who was told to come back after she has established a 'better work history' (I don't know her nationality but I believe she schooled here and she is currently on a work permit).

Please what are the requirements for applying for US visa? This is my first time applying for it and am a PR holder with no travel history except for Dubai and then recently this PR card.

Not that i believed the story. I was almost pressured into calling Justin Trudeau to confirm since according to him, we have unfettered access to the people in authority. What made me not to attempt it is that i don't want the authorities thinking my visa issuance was a mistake for making such enquiries. How can they open their doors to only Nigerians? The desperation of these agents is apalling.

Thanks all for your responses.

Canada did not only open its doors, it also opened its windows to immigrants. However, this is dependent on the route/program you choose. If you choose the Economic skill program and you are qualified, there is a huge guarantee. If you choose the refugee program, there is a huge probability of returning back to Muritala Mohammed Airport.

There are immigration lawyers and agents. Their job is to make money from you and not to assure you of approval.

Thanks for your response.

Very untrue, please let your friend know that the only genuine path for skilled workers from Nigeria is Express Entry and/or Provincial Nomination. You can direct him/her to IRCC website to see for himself that somebody is about to run a scam on him/her.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada.html

Canada is not opening any such doors 'regardless of qualification', not with the recent body language of the government here to tighten entry requirements especially for asylum seekers and refugees, requiring higher burden of proof for successful processing of claims. So much so, some immigration consultants here recently protested a recent court ruling that will make it more challenging for certain asylum seeking Nigerians to scale through now.

https://www.google.ca/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/world/2018/may/23/canada-rejecting-more-refugee-claims-amid-border-crossing-influx-under-trump

Please send your friend to the Nairaland Express Entry thread rather than allow some dubious persons to make him or her a case study.

Thanks for your response.

Hi all,

I got a call from someone that agents in Nigeria said Canada has opened its doors to Nigerians regardless of your qualifications and he wants to find out from me before paying the agent.

Has anyone heard such recently? He said i should enquire and get back to him and i don't even know who to enquire from so that i dont sound stupid.

Your responses will be appreciated. Ok bye.

I have the drivers extract but the original drivers license is not out yet I only have the temporary one, can I use the original drivers extract and temporary card to apply for the test ?

I don't know about the temporary one. I suggest you enquire from them before the extract expires.

For those in Mississauga, there is now a drive test centre in Mississauga at 255 longside drive. Its around Derry/Maritz axis. Its off maritz drive (not derrycrest drive). No need to go to Oakville for the test.
They only do computer based no paper based available. And your FRSC letter/extract is only valid for 6 months. Then for those only preparing with the apps questions, you may have to retake the use of the road portion of the test because you will see some questions not in the app.

My experience.

I went for the test early this month, the first shock i had was that my FRSC extract was expired. Infact what prompted me to do the test was that my Nigerian drivers license will expire in January 2019 only for me to be told that my letter/extract is valid for only six months from the date of issuance. Seeing the disappointment in my face, the lady agreed to input my years of experience into their system and made me promise to regularise at my convenience. I had to make it clear to her that i was going to get a letter from my embassy and not FRSC extract as i could not go through the rigours again.
Then i paid 158.25 for the test. Got to the room where i was shown a system assigned to me. I got started with the test of 40 questions. 20 questions on rules of the road and 20 questions on road signs. You must not fail more than 4 questions in each section/part to pass the test. By the time i finished the 1st part(rules of the road) i had failed 5 questions. They said i should move on to the 2nd part (road signs)where i failed 2 questions. I had to pay additional 15.75 twice because it was in my third attempt that i failed only 4 questions and passed the first part. I only retook the section i failed and not the whole test. I met a Chinese boy that took it 4 times. We just had fun laughing at each other for failing the test. I didn't want to go read the books and come back another day because i didn't want my Nigerian drivers license to expire in my hands (though i don't know the implications).
I don't have to wait for 1 year to do my second stage test but i want to get the letter from the embassy before doing that even though the lady told me that i can go ahead and do it immediately. Probably i prepared with outdated apps that's why i saw new questions in the rule of the road section of the test. Reading the book could have given me an advantage but i prepared only with the apps.
Hope this helps someone.

SOS!
Please I really need help with accommodation. Yes I have gone through the various websites and still going through them. I’ve even viewed a few places but for some reason, they’re all unavailable until dec1. I’m not sure why. I need a place by next week Thursday Nov 22. That’s when my Airbnb will expire and I really don’t want to pay for another Airbnb as I’m seriously on a budget. Please anyone that has an apartment and maybe wants to share rent? Or you know of an available place please contact me. I’m looking for private room in a shared apartment preferably with private bathroom too. If it’s shared bathroom no wahala or a basement apartment
I’m a single female and I’m in Mississauga. I’d prefer Mississauga but any place around would do. Like Brampton or Toronto city. Please help a sister in need.
Thanks in anticipation!

Getting accomodation here no be moimoi. I had need to change my place this midyear and it wasn't easy. If you would pm me, i will give you the number of the realtor that helped me get a place. Your SOS is rather short. I am in Mississauga too. It didn't cost me anything.

Hi Guys, thanks for all this valuable info on this thread. I’m looking to move to Canada mid next year but I’m having difficulties deciding on which city to live in. Hubby is a pharmacist and I’m an accountant and one of my criteria for a city to live in would be where pharmaceutical head offices and finance firms are situated so hubby and I can have great career prospects. Toronto seems like the easy choice but it’s quite expensive and I’d prefer another city with the same criteria I’m looking for. I’m also looking for a city that’s warm. I really don’t like the cold and will like to avoid it as much as possible.

There are a couple of pharmaceutical companies in Mississauga and you as an accountant can get a job anywhere within the GTA axis, Mississauga inclusive. The cost of living in Mississauga is not the cheapest though.

One more thing. They should not forget to strip Buhari of his security details during the election.

Just seeing this and it made my day(lolsided). Their fingers are not frozen from snow shovelling. Once people identify you are from Manitoba, you are in trouble. They will start bombarding you with request for their provincial nominee requirement. The one that has to do with family and friends sponsorship so people living there hide themselves.
Tojued:

There's a lot of info on Calgary on this thread, but I'm sure someone will still step forward to provide you feedback.

People in Manitoba hardly give any feedback. There's very little info on Winnipeg/Manitoba online (not only on this thread). My theory is that their fingers are frozen or they are too busy shoveling snow. They usually share info before arriving, then they share landing gist. After that they disappear.

Or when they leave Manitoba for one reason or the other they become active again.

You could do a search of the thread. But start from Page 113, GS put some links on life in Calgary and Winnipeg.

Are you a black female accountant or finance professional in Ontario and you are yet to join BFAN (Black Female Accountant Network)? You sure have missed the Oct 27th conference because we are fully booked for it but there are other conferences coming up in the future. Also it is an easy access to other networking opportunities and conferences.

If you are interested please pm me so that we can take it up from there.

Despite having such techoncrats on board, They (PDP) still looted our economy. This is just to tell us that looting is a Nigerian thing and not a political party thing. Until we change our value system, looting will continue in this country regardless of the political party or people in power.
