Guitarlife:These should have been your main reasons of backing out and not her claiming equality with you. You caused what came upon you here. You may still need to get a wife from Niaja because that one sure pass. |
And to add to my 2 cents making it 3 cents. What works for couple A may not work for couple B. If the woman is earning way higher would you because of headship ask her to resign and be doing school runs just to show your male ego? Both of you have to sit down and have a discussion of your goals in Canada and how to achieve them. At some point its one party making the sacrifice at another point it's the other party. Once there is love and trust, other things fall in naturally. |
If you are in Nigeria and not yet in Canada and contributing to this headship and authority in marriage please wait until you land here and face the moment of truth. Nobody will tell you that you need to plan how to make your marriage work here. If you carry on with that headship mentality, it's just a matter of time before it happens. I have seen a man feeding a baby in a pram here all by himself. Such a thing would not happen in Nigeria, shame no go even gree the man. I understand guitarlife's viewpoint that his babe is claiming equality in Naija and his fears that with all the privileges women have here, he may be the houseboy when they move to Canada but your assumptions may be wrong. She could turn out to be the best. There is no thing as good as looking at the reality and considering the options to make it work best for 2 of you. My 2 cents. |
Make sure you pay your capital gain tax. |
A great presentation to watch. Very relevant for any experienced professional arriving in Canada https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhA3zeELPzc |
Godsfavouredone:Is this a new requirement? I didn't go through WES to do my conversion. Please go through the requirements on CPA website to make sure you are not doing more than required. Thanks |
purplerain:Sorry just seeing but very sure you have the number now. I will not want to drop the number here for some reasons but anyone who pms me gets the number. I think 4 people have. |
Bsbabe:Thanks. will apply when am ready for it. |
Bsbabe:Please what are the requirements for applying for US visa? This is my first time applying for it and am a PR holder with no travel history except for Dubai and then recently this PR card. |
Not that i believed the story. I was almost pressured into calling Justin Trudeau to confirm since according to him, we have unfettered access to the people in authority. What made me not to attempt it is that i don't want the authorities thinking my visa issuance was a mistake for making such enquiries. How can they open their doors to only Nigerians? The desperation of these agents is apalling. Thanks all for your responses. |
Boss13:Thanks for your response. |
Blackbuddy:Thanks for your response. |
olajide21:Thanks for your response. |
Hi all, I got a call from someone that agents in Nigeria said Canada has opened its doors to Nigerians regardless of your qualifications and he wants to find out from me before paying the agent. Has anyone heard such recently? He said i should enquire and get back to him and i don't even know who to enquire from so that i dont sound stupid. Your responses will be appreciated. Ok bye. |
Guitarlife:I don't know about the temporary one. I suggest you enquire from them before the extract expires. Regards |
For those in Mississauga, there is now a drive test centre in Mississauga at 255 longside drive. Its around Derry/Maritz axis. Its off maritz drive (not derrycrest drive). No need to go to Oakville for the test. They only do computer based no paper based available. And your FRSC letter/extract is only valid for 6 months. Then for those only preparing with the apps questions, you may have to retake the use of the road portion of the test because you will see some questions not in the app. My experience. I went for the test early this month, the first shock i had was that my FRSC extract was expired. Infact what prompted me to do the test was that my Nigerian drivers license will expire in January 2019 only for me to be told that my letter/extract is valid for only six months from the date of issuance. Seeing the disappointment in my face, the lady agreed to input my years of experience into their system and made me promise to regularise at my convenience. I had to make it clear to her that i was going to get a letter from my embassy and not FRSC extract as i could not go through the rigours again. Then i paid 158.25 for the test. Got to the room where i was shown a system assigned to me. I got started with the test of 40 questions. 20 questions on rules of the road and 20 questions on road signs. You must not fail more than 4 questions in each section/part to pass the test. By the time i finished the 1st part(rules of the road) i had failed 5 questions. They said i should move on to the 2nd part (road signs)where i failed 2 questions. I had to pay additional 15.75 twice because it was in my third attempt that i failed only 4 questions and passed the first part. I only retook the section i failed and not the whole test. I met a Chinese boy that took it 4 times. We just had fun laughing at each other for failing the test. I didn't want to go read the books and come back another day because i didn't want my Nigerian drivers license to expire in my hands (though i don't know the implications). I don't have to wait for 1 year to do my second stage test but i want to get the letter from the embassy before doing that even though the lady told me that i can go ahead and do it immediately. Probably i prepared with outdated apps that's why i saw new questions in the rule of the road section of the test. Reading the book could have given me an advantage but i prepared only with the apps. Hope this helps someone. |
Expectantbee:Getting accomodation here no be moimoi. I had need to change my place this midyear and it wasn't easy. If you would pm me, i will give you the number of the realtor that helped me get a place. Your SOS is rather short. I am in Mississauga too. It didn't cost me anything. |
I didn't realize my intl passport was not stamped in Toronto when i came back from my father's burial this August until i requested for something from Nigerian embassy in Ottawa and one of their requirements is the stamped page of my passport. Abeg after clearing yourself at the kiosk please request that immigration stamps your passport incase of incacity. |
CookieLyon:There are a couple of pharmaceutical companies in Mississauga and you as an accountant can get a job anywhere within the GTA axis, Mississauga inclusive. The cost of living in Mississauga is not the cheapest though. |
Spotted ke! One of his aides took that picture and distributed it to media houses. His jollof eating supporters are now praising him. Mtchew. |

Don't forget to strip Buhari of his security details during election. |
Something is wrong with this statement. So you know he is not supposed to win. 9jvirgin: |
Can Atiku visit the US if we have bilateral trade agreement to sign? One more thing. They should not forget to strip Buhari of his security details during the election. #dontstartwhatyoucannotfinish. #whatgoesaroundcomesaround. |
Yes. God is faithful. Tojued: |
Headache things loading. |
PDP should have disqualified Atiku. |
Just seeing this and it made my day(lolsided). Their fingers are not frozen from snow shovelling. Once people identify you are from Manitoba, you are in trouble. They will start bombarding you with request for their provincial nominee requirement. The one that has to do with family and friends sponsorship so people living there hide themselves. Tojued: |
