I'm sorry dear, but I won't put this on Mou. He put virtually all our attacking players on the field save for Mata, and they couldn't deliver. They were just playing cocky football, expecting favours from the ref in the form of freekicks, thinking the ref would protect them like superstars.

The only thing I will blame Mou for is if he doesn't give them a hairdryer dress down after this ala Fergie. Come on, where is the passion? Our players were pulling out of 50-50 duels. Gosh.

Totally deserved win for Bristol City. They pressed high and hassled United non-stop. Our players were just too casual. Like we expected them to just roll over and lose because they are a Championship side.

Zlatan didn't play for the team today. He was so desperate to score. At least he got his goal. Hope he can put that behind him.

On to the next.

It still amazes me that people like you go about doubting people's ages just by looking at their face or physique. Do you live in a bubble? Or you haven't visited a secondary school or university recently? Or didn't you even pass through one? Even those of us that got into the university in the 90's met jambites between 16-19 who looked just like this girl.

Come on, open your eyes and see the world around you.

Can you win the league by only beating the big teams? If he scores 20+ goals and they are all against small teams, would it still not help his team's cause?

There's a big difference between following a team and being a true fan of a football club. That's why even small teams who have never won anything have fans who stay with them no matter what.
TravelRe: High Speed Trains Arrive Nigeria Months After Inspection In China (Photos) by dabossman(m): 12:14pm On Dec 16, 2017
JuanDeDios:
Agreed. But two things.

1. Stop calling these "high speed trains".
2. Show me documentation to prove that what we paid to get these refurbished 1980 things is not more than the cost of TGVs.
If we are to focus on semantics, actually, you can call them high speed trains. The term obviously has a broader usage. In truth, it is just a case of constantly upgraded technology. The first Japanese trains to be called bullet trains where built in 1964. I'm sure you can'tcompare them to today's models. In the same vein a mobile phone from 1995 doesn't stop being a mobile phone simply because there a newer, more techy models. Again, talking semantics.

Below is an interesting read too. Personally, I don't think we have the right kind of train tracks for the very high speed trains some people are expecting.

The International Union of Railways (UIC) identifies three categories of high-speed rail:

Category I – New tracks specially constructed for high speeds, allowing a maximum running speed of at least 250 km/h (155 mph).
Category II – Existing tracks specially upgraded for high speeds, allowing a maximum running speed of at least 200 km/h (124 mph).
Category III – Existing tracks specially upgraded for high speeds, allowing a maximum running speed of at least 200 km/h (124 mph), but with some sections having a lower allowable speed (for example due to topographic constraints, or passage through urban areas).
A third definition of high-speed and very high-speed rail (Demiridis & Pyrgidis 2012) requires simultaneous fulfilment of the following two conditions:[4]

Maximum achievable running speed in excess of 200 km/h (124 mph), or 250 km/h (155 mph) for very high-speed,
Average running speed across the corridor in excess of 150 km/h (93 mph), or 200 km/h (124 mph) for very high-speed.
The UIC prefers to use "definitions" (plural) because they consider that there is no single standard definition of high-speed rail, nor even standard usage of the terms ("high speed", or "very high speed"wink. They make use of the European EC Directive 96/48, stating that high speed is a combination of all the elements which constitute the system: infrastructure, rolling stock and operating conditions.[3] The International Union of Railways states that high-speed rail is a set of unique features, not merely a train travelling above a particular speed
. Many conventionally hauled trains are able to reach 200 km/h (124 mph) in commercial service but are not considered to be high-speed trains. These include the French SNCF Intercités and German DB IC.

Outside of Europe how many countries use TGV?

Does Nigeria need to pay that premium now? Why not build up a viable network and then go from there?

In the same way that you wouldn't buy your daughter a Rolls Royce as a first vehicle it doesn't make sense for Nigeria to buy TGVs.
Leave them. They want to jump from nothing to the highest form of technology, even when they don't have the necessary infrastructures or capacity to manage it effectively. That in itself is part of the Nigerian problem. Not knowing how to find tailor-made solutions to our problems. We just import anything and think it will work.

Everyone has now turned experts on trains. Even those who have never been on a train, whether high speed or snail speed, surface or underground. Nigerians and negativity are one of a kind.

The problem is that some lack comprehension. The report says Africa's fastest trains, not world's fastest.

Besides, wanting to make money from match bonuses and quota system are two different things. If there is indeed an official with something to gain, how do you know he/she is not Yoruba, Igbo, Ijaw, Igala or whatever?

The EPL is overrated. So much viewership with so little European success. The case with the La Liga is simply joint monopoly, dominantly dictated by Real Madrid and Barcelona. Regardless, EPL teams are nowhere near the La Liga teams if we end up matching them.

Real Madrid - ?
Barcelona - ?
Atletico Madrid - Chelsea
Valencia
Sevilla
Athletic Bilbao
Villareal
Real Sociedad

Care to match the above teams with worthy EPL opponentshuh
@Wahala90, see what I mean. "Little European success". As if he can name four leagues that have more success than the English league. Sometimes, l wonder if folks know the real meaning of the word overrated. It's like saying Barcelona is overrated because Madrid have won more champions league titles.

As for the comparison you are making, you can never compare teams like Bilboa, Villarreal, Soceidad etc with teams like Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City, Everton etc until they play together consistently in a league format. Notice, I excluded Man Utd and Liverpool who are the two most successful English teams. The comparison is mute, especially when you consider that even Leicester defeated Sevilla in the UCL round of 16 last season and Spurs got the better of all mighty Madrid this season.

Ok. I get it. The EPL is not a rubbish league cos they have also enjoyed a measure of success at some time. However, I think the point for the LaLiga is that they have been more successful than any particular league. You get that?
Of course I get that, and it is as a result of recent dominance. As recently as 2012, it was Spain's 13 to England's 12 in the UCL. That was just 5 years ago, not ancient history. As much as we have our preferences due to club affiliations, people should not make unfounded statements. Banter I understand, but when you now try to twist facts that is available to all, I draw the line.

If you are trying to compare Premier league with LaLiga, then your points are poo. However, if you are saying the premier league is not a poo. as some persons think, then you have a point. Which are you saying?
I'm saying people should stop making the EPL out to be a crap league. Yes, La liga is on top now, but history has shown that domination of the champions league by one country's league is not perpetual. These things go round. La liga is on the ascendancy now, which is okay. But other leagues like Italy, England and Germany have had their own spells of dominance. And the cycle will still turn again like it has many times before.

Spanish don't need to have 3 teams,Madrid 12 times and Barca 5 combined together shows Spain is the best, Oya name England club that has won champions league back to back?oya name England Club that has won europa league 3 times in a row?
You young chaps really need to learn your football history before you come online to talk. Liverpool have won the champions league back to back, followed immediately by Nottingham Forest who also won it back to back.

And while no English team have won Europa league back to back, different English teams won the competition for 6 years in a row, same as the champions league.

The argument that EPL is overrated is a silly one if the league in questions is among the top 3 of all times across all competitions; way ahead German Bundesliga, French Championat, Dutch Erevidisie and many more.

And why shouldn't Spain be able to boast of more than two teams if the league is so super? Even the Dutch league can boast of 3 teams that have won the UCL. Goes to show that without Barca and Madrid, La liga is no better than Belgian League. tongue

BTW, English league is more entertaining than LA liga, that's the fact you can't disagree with.
Tell him o. Two consecutive semifinals had 3 English teams in them. I just don't have the graph here with me. Maybe tomorrow I will share it. Power always shifts hands in the champions league. Eventually, the current Spanish dominance will end and another country will take over. That is always the pattern. It's either people have a short memory, or they just started watching UCL in 2010.

While I agree that we can be a bit more adventurous, let's not get carried away, if we go gung ho we will get torn apart. Smalling & Rojo are highly suspect. What we lack is someone to carry that ball in midfield. Sadly, other than Pogba, I don't see any other player doing that. Mikhi and Mata don't exactly cut it in a game like this.
