His style of play was such that others work for him, he contributes zero to the team's general play.

Point mene like Izaghi and Yekini himself won't succeed in today's game.
Yet Diego Costa is succeeding. Talk another one.

bros y r u pained over a simple opinion? As for me Yekini is the best no9 and he is more of a ronaldo player dat scores tap-ins( though ronaldo is far more diversified) while kanu is more of a messi type because he creates chances(kanu is a false nine). Yekini is sometimes proud because he celebrate goals as if he is d only player on d field dat was y d team mates stopped passing d ball to him at a time(roben and baloteli do this too). I summary YEKINI is d best no9 by far but if not for kanu's heart surgery dat reduced his efficiency he would have scored more goals because he is a smarter player.
Ronaldo mainly scores tap-ins? And Yekini too? Seriously? Please stop telling us stories you heard growing up. We saw these players ball. Don't come here and rewrite history on hearsay. Yekinini celebrates his goals alone? So when a player scores a goal, he is the one who runs to his teammates or the other way round. When Yekini created a goal for Amokachi against Bulgaria, did he wait for Amokachi to come and hug him, or did he not run to the corner flag to celebrate with the Bull where he was busy dancing?

I think a lot of Nigerians think flair is the greatest skill a footballer can have. Sadly flair is not the number one quality you are looking for in a striker. Yekini scored all sorts of goals. You don't do that if you are not smart.

How skillful was George Weah?
What is skill by the way? Is it only flicks, step-overs and dribbling? Yekini was not skillful indeed. You should see his ball control, his movement on and off the ball, his positioning and goal sense. Yekini was dangerous both within and outside the box. Check out his goal against Zaire at Afcon 94, or the byline goal he scored at National Stadium. Not skillful indeed.

Even after the NSA had admitted that his office was directly responsible for the failed arms deal yet some ethnic bigot are still heaping the blame on a pastor who swore he had no hand in deal and who was exonerated by the NSA. How come no one is calling on the NSA to resign? Is it because the NSA is Fulani while the pastor is southsouth?
Er, the only ethnic bigot I see here is you. The guy you quoted did not mention any tribe or ethnic group. He only named individuals. You are the one bringing ethnicity into the matter. Or are you saying all South-South indigenes are okay with how this whole arms deal went?

If you didn't watch the English Premiership between 1992 and 2002, you probably will not understand why some names are on this list. That's why someone will be asking what Andy Cole is doing on the list. Most of those on this list are from that first decade. Some of you never saw these guys play or only watched them at the twilight of their careers. Just seeing some names on the list brings back nostalgic memories. Ah, Matt Le Tissier, Ginola, Peter Beardsley, Shearer and Sutton, the SS strike force of Blackburn. These were names we used to play table soccer back in secondary school using our TD boards.

No doubt the list is missing a lot of names, but let's be fair, 100 is a smal number considering the number of players that have graced the Premier League. Besides, we all have our favourites. I'm sure number of games played, titles won, goals scored and other stats will be factors considered and not necessarily who is more talented or skillful. We Nigerians pay to much emphasis to skill than technical ability.

Its funny when people say "English is not our Language", ....being unable to speak at least "passable English" does not mean you are not educated", blah-blah-blah!

But for God's sake, how can you be tutored all your life, from Nursery School, to six years in primary school, to five/six years in secondary school and then four years in the University /(ONE/HND) ... USING ENGLISH LANGUAGE!

..And yet you say you cant speak "passable English" without sounding alarm bells? If you cant speak "normal English" after all those years of supposed Education, you are not worthy of being called a graduate of even a primary school after-all, l hear primary school kids (and even some Kindergarten!) speak correct English with proper tenses to boot!

Anyway, l am yet to be aware of any Academic Institution that teaches all its courses in any of our Lingua franca (Yoruba/Igbo/Hausa, just to mention the major ones)

Abeegii, yeye dey smell joor!

Gbam! In this country we spend nothing less than 12 years studying the English Language from Pry 1 to SS3 (Grade 1-12) and after all that you still can't speak the language, even if it is at intermediate level. Give me a break. That's like learning mathematics for the same 12 years and you can't do basic addition and subtraction? Haba!

Na question I dey ask o! E-warriors no come dey tackle me for here o! I'm just asking for clarity. Chikena.

Politics › Re: Civil Servants Threaten Strike Over Proposed Wage Deregulation by dabossman(m): 8:21am On Oct 23, 2014
adahib:
We already know how many states are groaning under the weight of huge wage bills but right now, they have no choice but to pay. Once the new arrangement is effected, most states will jump up in happiness and push down the minimum wage as much as they like because frankly, none of them will raise it willingly.

So do you now see the angle from which the labour union is coming fromhuh Hehehe......
Nothing stops the state workers from calling a strike or whatever if their state governments offer ridiculous wages. Is not like localised, state workers strike is a new thing.

Personally, I think this will be a good move in the long run. Yes, initially some states may want to play smart, but if workers fight for better and reasonable pay, they will get it .

Imagine a state like Lagos where the cost of living is high paying the same 18K minimum wage as states like say Jigawa, Osun or Ebonyi where cost of living is not so high, even with all the IGR that Lagos generates and the Federal allocation they get. It makes no sense. Let states pay based on how much they can afford and also with regards to the cost of living in such states.

I also think it will bring competition as workers will likely migrate to states that pay better. Why stay in Lagos earning 18k if say Ogun is paying 25 or 30k for the same level. This manpower migration may eventually force some states to offer better pay to keep their best hands.

This is what true Federalism is about. This is the ideal, even though Naija can be peculiar most times. Hopefully, we can make it work.

93) Jay Jay Okocha

Tells you all you need to know about the goats who drew up the so-called list.
Can you compare the number of seasons Nicky Butt played with the ones Okocha played? Not to talk of the titles he won. It's not exactly a list of who is better you know.

Looks to me like they are in the same situation Nigeria is in. 3 points behind the 2nd placed team.
