Sorry Bro, you may be too young to know, but the trains were working during Buhari's regime. Even up to the late 80's when IBB was in charge the rails still worked. I remember as a kid we used to be excited watching the trains pass at Yaba near Fela's house. When I was in Pry 6 in 1989 we took a train ride from Iddo as part of our excursion week. You can't pin the death of the NRC on Buhari.

Someone corrected you for supporting a barbaric act and you still came back with a rejoinder. Is beating up the ref the best way to handle the matter? Or are you a club owner or local league player? Two wrongs don't make a right.

The PDP message here seems too advanced for nigerians
Brother man, show some class and stop being such a sycophant. How long did it take the sitting President to announce that he would run again? It took the "pleading" of TAN for him to pretentiously accept to run again. Should we also tag that as incompetence or an unwillingness to serve until he was "cajoled" to?

And then you talk about Tinubu hand picking the VP? Was GEJ not hand picked by OBJ and forced on your party?

Again, show some class and advise Olisa Metuh to do the same.
Politics › Re: Buhari’s Belated Choice Of Running Mate, The Height Of Incompetence - PDP by dabossman(m): 10:23pm On Dec 17, 2014
I guess Obama too must be incompetent. It took him about a week to announce Joe Biden as his running mate in 2008.

Barack Obama picks Joe Biden as his vice presidential running mate
Barack Obama, the Democratic presidential candidate, has picked Joe Biden to be his vice presidential running mate, ending a week-long media frenzy.

So much noise about the choice of Prof. Osinbajo. Is he the one running for President? I wonder if Namadi Sambo will win the North-West for GEJ? He couldn't even win in his constituency in 2011. Osinbajo is more likely to poll more votes for Buhari than Sambo can for Mr. President, so what's the fuss.

The race is between GEJ and GMB abeg. Enough of all this hyperventilating over the choice of Osinbajo.

The number 1 executive decision of all Presidential candidate is to choose their own running mate

Buhari has already handed this decision to someone else to make just in his desperate attempt to prove he is a democrat!

choosing your VP is a National Security issue and yet the clueless General has handed this important decision to a man of questionable character like Tinubu. A man who has a history of certificate forgery and drug pushing?

This is Buhari's first National Security decision and he has handed it to someone else. In case you don't understand the enormity of the decision at stake. Buhari is one election away from being President. Lets assume one of Shekau's clone is selected for Buhari without Buhari knowing, that VP will be one Presidential death away from being President himself!
You, sir, need to see the Sarah Palin movie. You seriously think a Presidential candidate unilaterally picks his VP without the party's input? Think again.

I couldn't read your post. . it wasn't loud enough, make it bigger. But on a serious note, there is no reason why an event should be like that even if people are still there. Nigerians have grown up to be dirty so we all think it is normal. the blame is both on government to provide adequate waste storing points and also on the citizenry to be disciplined enough to know not to litter. where i live, you are taught to keep trash on your person until you find a trash point. littering has a price tag of 500 euro. That is how it should be.
Rubbish talk. Have you attended a carnival in the western world where you say you live before? You think five minutes after the event ends, the place will be spotlessly clean? No confetti, no decorations and such littered around abi? Think again. It is the local council's responsibility to clean up afterwards, not the merry makers.
Car Talk › Re: Nigerians Should Stop Fighting After An Accident! by dabossman(m): 1:48pm On Dec 11, 2014
You really can't blame most people for ending up in this situation. If people at fault accept that they are wrong then we can move on; but when you are wrong and you are claiming to be right, there will be trouble o.

There was this one guy who was trying to overtake me from the right on a major two-lane expressway where we were all going at reasonable speed, only for him to notice a danfo parked at the bus-stop ahead. What should any sane driver do? Slow down, check your mirror, trafficate (indicate) and then switch lanes once the coast is clear. But no, this guy swerves towards me trying to squeeze through, I try to swing to my left to avoid us making contact but the concrete road divider (kerb) is right beside me. The guy ends up hitting my front fender. Next thing he stops right in the middle of the road before me and begins to alight. I decide not to cause a traffic gridlock, so I try to park to the side off the road. The guy hurriedly jumps into his vehicle and blocks me again saying I must not run away. I'm like dude what the hell. His friends also alight and surround me saying I ran into them from behind. Of course they are all smelling of alcohol. They begin to form good cop, bad cop, with one trying to play the mediator while still pinning the blame on me; asking me to apologize to his friend so peace could reign! Say what?!

Now tell me how that won't result into a long argument?

TV/Movies › Re: Has Television Lost Its Relevance? by dabossman(m): 4:55pm On Dec 04, 2014
I think the OP needs to be clear about what he is talking about. Are you referring to the TV set or television content? Because if it is content, then OP you are probably limited in your access to the kind of content you desire. Whatever kind of content you seek is out there in the bus loads. If you want pure, wholesome, inspirational content you will find it. If you want sex, gore, filth and the likes, you will find it. Across the globe, there is so much television content that you'll probably need three lifetimes to see it all. Maybe you should take a trip to MIPCOM, one of the biggest TV content markets that holds every year in Cannes, France. You go fear content.

That said, even most of those watching on other devices like smartphones, tablets and laptops are mainly watching content produced for television. You are only watching on a different device from the TV box. But like some guys said here, if you get a smart TV you will throw aside you small screen when you get home and enjoy your internet-enabled TV for your browsing, gaming and television content. You should watch football on a 55-84 inch 4K screen. The picture quality na die.

Television is far from dead bro. It is getting better.

Everytime I visit the supermarket, I walk by the condoms on display. I would like to buy a pack but most of the cashiers are ladies, so I can't.
Oga Seun, me I nor dey look their face o. I get my condoms when I go shopping for groceries, so I just pack it with other stuff. Once I empty out my cart onto the counter before the female check-out cashier, I'll just keep a straight face. Sometimes I even hold the cashier's gaze like "oya say something cheesy, make I reply you".

Funny thing is the girl I met at the checkout point at the supermarket this last weekend pointed to the picture of the feather on the durex box and was like "oga is it feathers that is inside?". She kept a straight face so I couldn't tell if she was yanking my chain, or if she honestly didn't know. I smiled and told her "no, they are contraceptives. She just nodded with the same straight face and continued scanning the barcodes on other items.

My wife won't pick it up though and I totally understand. I won't be too comfortable buying her sanitary towels either. Tried it before and felt all eyes were on me.

Politics › Re: APC Office Raid: DSS Releases List Of Recovered Items by dabossman(m): 9:23am On Nov 27, 2014
Attorney1Lawz:
I THINK THERE SEEMS TO BE A CERTAIN LEVEL OF IGNORANCE OR PERHAPS CONFUSION AS TO THE IMPLICATION OF A POLITICAL PARTY INVOLVED IN UNAUTHORIZED (BIOMETRIC)DATA CAPTURE OF CITIZENS.

The law clearly provides that only the National Population and its affiliate departments CAN ENGAGE IN the collection of fingerprints as a form of identity.

Now some of us understand that we have a lawless society where emotions rather than the law we all have subscribed to ends up as the order of the day.

FIRSTLY, APC a duly registered political party is very much on course having a data center, taking down details of its memebers etc. HOWEVER, IT VIOLATES THIS FREEDOM once its acquires DATA CAPTURE devices to even collect finger print details. BY COLLATING BIOMETRICS , IT NOW MOVES BEYOND MERE MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION TO a purely security terrian.

SECONDLY, The SSS has a security outfit has every legal right and is within its powers to investigate any body , political party, religious organization or individual and as such no one should cry foul and call that UNDEMOCRATIC. The ACTION of the SSS is in order and was done with minimal or no force at all.

THIRDLY, It would be important for the APC leadership to explain how biometric details enhances the integrity of data collection for its membership profile. Financial institutions , Educational institutions all have data centers or data management centers, Never has it been recorded that finger print details were required for even the most risky financial transactions. WE ALL KNOW THAT AN INDIVIDUAL SIGNATURE is often the length of authentication needed.

IN CONCLUSION, THIS OPPOSITION PARTY SHOULD EXPLAIN TO NIGERIANS whAT It intends to do with fingerprints WHICH , our Banks , schools dont need!!!

GUESS THATS THE STARTING POINT for this DISCUSS - not emotional , baseless outburst over a state organ performing its legal duties.

THANKS ALL
Er dear Attorney, nowhere in the report was it stated that bio-metric/fingerprint capturing was done. The report clearly states that the following items were recovered: One server, Four hard drives, One external hard drive, One HP Laptop, One Server switch, Fourflash drives, One Samsung tablet, One Apple computer system without CPU and thirty one Ghana-must-go bags containing hard copies of already captured data.

Where does it say anything about fingerprint capturing? Is it the "hard copies of already captured data" that has led you to this erroneous conclusion? Captured data need not include fingerprinting. It could simply be name, address, age, phone number and passport photograph. That too is captured data, isn't it?

Pls kindly provide a link showing a court proceeding of people prosecuted by INEC for multiple registration? If you can't, just go home pour some gammalin in some cold cup of water and do the world a favor.

The data center was setup across the country to eliminate such instances of multiple entry, provide a reachable and detailed membership list of members and them produce ID cards for its members.

This is a clear case, I'm registering people that likes me why is it your headache if someone clicks like 20times.

if you didn't use your brains to trade for food you would have use it now to reason objectively
I'm guessing the DSS was just trying to ensure that there is internal democracy in the APC. grin They don't want that guy who registered multiple times with the party to rig the APC Presidential/Gubernatorial primaries. After all, those are the only elections the guy can rig with his multiple registration. The DSS is only being socially responsible now. grin I guess that is one of their constitutional responsibilities.

The issue is not him not getting a Job, the issue here is there was never a time numerous offers were on his table, then Nigeria needed him and he disrespected us all like he was doing us a favour, but it's now obvious he actually needs the Super Eagles Job more than the Super Eagles need him
The bolded is a matter of conjecture. None of us are his agent. Besides, in football circles these kites get flown all the time. Arsenal to sign this Hummels, United to resign CR7 blah, blah, blah. It's all part of the game. Sometimes agents leak this unsubstantiated rumours out to the press just to improve the marketability of their clients. What were you expecting? That Keshi would say Super Eagles is the only job available to him? C'mon. If na you nko? Do you think Moyes wouldn't have loved to hang on to the United job despite his failings? Why hasn't Arsene Wenger thrown in the towel honourable since some fans have been asking him to go. The Super Eagles job is an attractive one as far as Africa is concerned, but you don't expect Keshi to beg for it shamelessly like a desperado, do you? Who does that?
Sports › Re: Where Are The Numerous Offers Waiting For Keshi by dabossman(m): 2:52pm On Nov 25, 2014
crownprince102:
the new African country will pay him over ₦5 million a month. Only few can do that you know it, is not that he won't get a job but the offer won't be as lucrative as this. SA, Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Ghana, CIV and Angola are the team that can pay him more than that, but do you think anyone of them can approach him at the moment. Who knows? He might get a contract better than this at SA's PSL or Angolan Girabola but else where in Africa, forget it.
Many people in football have taken pay cuts just to kick-start their floundering careers. It is not unheard of. If Keshi can't get a high paying coaching job, you think he won't settle for something less? Is half bread no longer better than none? Who says he can't go to a Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, maybe even return again to Togo who failed to qualify. Besides, is the N5 million monthly salary much more than what some of these African countries pay the European journeymen coaches that they employ?

Keshi's coaching career is far from over. Roberto Di Matteo won the Champions League and was out of a job shortly afterwards for like over a year before Schalke came calling. Moyes was sacked in April (I think) and finally got a job after 5 months. I can bet that some coaches will be sacked after AFCON 2015. Keshi will not be the first coach to have had a bad run, he won't be the last.
Sports › Re: Where Are The Numerous Offers Waiting For Keshi by dabossman(m): 11:02am On Nov 25, 2014
One thing you need to remember is that Keshi coached other African countries before he coached Nigeria. Even when all he had on his CV was "former Super Eagles captain who played in Belgium and France" he got jobs with Togo and Mali. Is it now that he has now added AFCON-winning coach and World Cup 2nd-round qualification to his CV that he won't get a job on the continent?

If Keshi leaves the Eagles job (which I pray he does to free himself from constant ridicule), it will only be a matter of time before one African country comes calling. Some countries who failed to make the Nations Cup like us may show interest, just as some who do not do well at the competition proper in January may come calling after they crash out. There are also several club sides in Africa that would be interested. After all, even Amodu Shuaibu coached Orlando Pirates.
