This doesn't add up. If Martins is expected to give room for the younger ones, then why say Iheanacho is too young? I'm not anti-Keshi but this sounds confusing. In some ways I blame the NFF and its Technical Committee. It's high time we develop a proper football philosophy. Whatever coach is to be employed should be given a mandate to concentrate on youth. The national team should have an average age of 25 if we want to excel at the next World Cup. That should be spelt out clearly to the coach.

And has it has always been said, if you are good enough, you are old enough.

UniqueGem: What position in the manchester united squad does this your queen of England play? A centre forward or a defender?
Youshouldn't respond to people who mention things like the Queen of England where Man Utd are concerned. Did the Queen just come unto the throne in 1992? Or was she not the same Queen that was there when Liverpool and Arsenal reigned supreme in the 70's and 80's? So, a Queen who lives in London where many teams like Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham, West Ham, Spurs and so on exist will go and be supporting a Manchester club.

Spare no time for ignoramuses bro.

Juve4: I DONT KNOW WHY WE ARE TRYING TO POLITICIZE EVERYTHING IN NIGERIA

THIS IS CHINA JULY 2014

Only In China! Brand new £400million Chinese railway station turns into giant waterfall after storm exposes thousands of holes in the roof

The reputation of China’s new £400million Shijiazhuang Railway Station has been washed away by multiple leaks during a rainstorm that turned the inside of the building into a giant waterfall.
Torrential rain hit Shijiazhuang city, Hebei province, on Thursday night, but its railway station, which is served by China’s high-speed trains, was not up to the job of sheltering passengers.
Water passed through the ceiling of the station, built in 2012, soaking passengers waiting inside.
Sorry o, I just want to ask what your point is. That it happened in China means it's okay or normal? Again, just asking for clarity.
Politics › Re: STELLA WONDER - Remodelled Lagos Airport’s Air-conditioners Fail, Roof Leaks by dabossman(m): 11:52am On Sep 22, 2014
This is what happens when we make development about individuals instead of building systems and institutions that will outlast the individual. Across every sector, all you hear is "during my tenure I did this and that", but immediately you leave everything collapses. So we remodeled and put up fine structures, but failed to remodel the thinking of the airport staff who will maintain it. Not surprising though; ministry workers are usually never bothered about doing their jobs, especially since there is hardly ever any threat of sack, except during general retrenchments or stuff. Heads need to roll constantly at FAAN and NCAA in order for them to know it is not business as usual. We need to build a culture of maintenance.

I think the new minister, and the head of FAAN should be queried. If Stella truly did a good job, then the present minister and his team are sabotaging her work so that they can quote his own billions for renovation work.

Don't come and spoil "our sisters" work o! grin

Thank you dear. PDP keeps accusing APC (previously ACN) of a lack of internal democracy, but now they are towing the same path. Even under Obasanjo when we knew that candidates were handpicked and ghana-must-go circulated PDP still had proper primaries. Now this. So sad.

EmoBoy: Nigerians will always criticise what they don't understand. There is something called credit enhancement in infrastructure finance. Most foreign investors won't invest in naija because of the risks involved. For example the market risk - The electricity tariffs were too low but the government increased them. Also, Nigerians don't like to pay for anything, so the government promised them they'll repay any shortfall in revenues as a result of the market risk. Its even better here because the money will be repaid to the govt by the companies after they start making a profit in the long run. So let's not criticize what we don't understand.
What are you on about bro? You think Nigerians have a problem with the principles? We are talking implementation here. How many times have we listened to all these fine and logical economic principles and theories? How well have we done in implementing them?

That's the question.

You're the joker here bro. I have not once tried to impose any belief on you. You are the one who is seemingly intolerant of others views and belief systems. How are you different from the Christians you are so want to attack? You think just because you don't believe in God makes you better than those who do? Does the fact that you don't believe in God somehow increase your IQ or your bank account? Does it confer a status upon you that is greater than every other living being?

At the end of the day, you are basically operating on a belief system you have chosen to adopt. "I don't believe in God". Now, how is that different from the opposite end of the pole you are desperately trying to ridicule? The difference between six and half a dozen?

We might as well be arguing about who is better, Messi or Ronaldo. It's all a matter of opinion and what we choose to believe.

Dare I say atheism is your religion? Oh sorry, I mean your fantasy. I'm not here to take it away either.

Chrisbenogor: What are you on about, there are many points for God to show his power,
First he/she/it is directly responsible for the existence of this virus if you attribute creation of the world to God. If he loved man that much and intended for no suffering at least design the viruses to be harmless to humans.
1. You make man and make virus that can kill man. ----dumbarse design
2. The virus then infects man and starts to kill man ----- you refuse to show power
3. Everyone infected with virus prays --- you save some and let the others die just to show you have power to save them from a virus you made to kill them in the first place.

Where is the praise for science for
1. Finding out what this virus which God created is
2. Telling us that this is how it is transmitted
3. Telling us how to manage it......the list is endless

Bible quotes flying everywhere, nonsense.
You have the freedom to believe what does not make sense, it does not stop anyone from saying what you believe does not add up.
Clap for yourself. Can Steve Jobs prevent your Ipad from having a cracked screen simply because he created it? Can the Wright Brothers prevent planes from crashing to the ground simply because they created it. Can your parents preventing you from harm 100% simply because they provided the sperm and egg that made you?

Since you probably ascribe the creation of the world to the Big Bang, why don't you heap your blames on the Universe? Why not blame the evolution of living things for the virus? Why blame a he/she/it that you don't even believe in? That's like blaming Santa Clause for freezing out your December. Or arguing about the existence of fairies and gnomes. If you don't believe that God exists why do you expend so much energy trying to prove it? Why are you bothered by the fact that an "imaginary being" has refused to show his power?

He doesn't exist to you, simply move on and let those who believe enjoy the freedom of their right to choose.

Oh, and about praise for science...., did the doctor not thank science? Or are you more of a scientist than she is? Besides, science never asked to disprove God. No, it is men like you that are desperately trying to use science to disprove God, even when science can as well proves the presence of God.

safarigirl: I can also predict Hollywood movies but you all still watch it.

The bad guy never gets away in James Bond, there's always missing treasure in Indiana Jones that's eventually found, there's always a forbidden love that eventually has a happy ending with the romantic movies or some really dumb, social outcast gets with the hot girl.

All movies are predictable, it's the execution that makes the difference
You my dear are so on point! I always laugh when people say the problem with Nollywood movies is that they are predictable. NO! THAT IS NOT THE PROBLEM.

The average Hollywood movie is also predictable once you know the genre.

Romantic comedy: boy meets girl, encounters some obstacles, then final realizes that he loves girl (or vice versa). I mean how many times have we seen the mad race to the airport, train station or something to tell the other person "I love you".

Action movie: Good guy defeats bad guy after loads of explosions, car chases and so on.

Coming of age movies: Dorky guy or girl comes out of shell and discover their true potential. Probably get the cute girl or guy along the way.

The list is endless. What keeps us glued to our seat is not knowing what will happen, it is how it will happen that intrigues us. It is how the story is told that engages our interest; even when it is a biography. That is where Nollywood needs to improve. That very important part of the story that lies between the beginning and the end. It takes a good scriptwriter and director to achieve that.

But some are trying already.

But did God create the virus? Did he create the many biological warfare viruses we know off? Did God erode the ozone layer? Did God create airplanes, cars and ships and then causes them to crash and kill thousands? Did God create the atomic bomb, guns and weapons of war?

itsabdul: From what the super eagles have played so far, it makes me wondering if we are truly the African champions.
* Our football lacked expertise
* 80% of our passes gets blocked by opponents, or don't even reach target.
* Our strikers lack mutual understanding.
* We don't have a particular style of play, a common sense is used by the opponents to intercept our ball.
* We lack good midfielders. Mikel to be precise is a player Nigeria needs to get rid of and find a better substitute. It's either he slows down what should be a counter attack for us, or completely losses possession.

Our problems are just too many, now I realized that our AFCON championship is a fluke, and if truly its by merit, then I Pity African Football.
Bro, that's like asking if France were World and European Champions at Korea/Japan 2002 or if Spain were World and European Champions at the last World Cup. They both crashed out at the group stage defending their title.

We are African Champions, but can we defend our title? Probably not. I'm more interested in developing our football and introducing new talent.

Yes Oboabona. Omeruo was the one who headed the ball down towards Oboabona on the touch line. Oboabona chased the Congolose player who lost him. Omeruo then moved in to close the player down, but the Congolese cut in leaving Omeruo sprawling on the turf. The Congolese player then cut the ball back for his team mate. Boom! Goal!

My take on the Congo game.

I believe it was a case of over-confidence on the part of the players and the technical crew. However, I'm not one of those to say "off with Keshi's head" because of this loss. The truth is we see these things happen all the time in World football. You have 2 or 3 games in a space of 5-7 day; chances are that you will look at the opposition and say to yourself Team A seems the tougher opponent, I think I can handle Team B without using my best 11, so you rest a few key players. We see this in the top leagues all the time. An Arsenal, Man Utd or Chelsea have 3 games in 7 days; let's say Leicester on Sunday in the Premier League, Barcelona or Madrid or PSG on Wednesday in the UCL and then Tottenham on Saturday in the league. The coach is likely to rest some key players for the UCL game in the belief that Leicester is easy prey. Sometimes it pays off, sometimes it backfires. That's what Keshi did, by not starting Emenike, but sadly it back-fired. I may blame him for that but I won't say he has done something that is unheard of. He gambled and it failed. It is what coaches do.

The players also share in the blame. We may all question Keshi's tactical and technical abilities, but that is also dependent on the tactical and technical ability of the players at his disposal. The first Congolese goal showed a lack of tactical sense by Oboabona. An opposing player takes you on a mazy run down your flanks and is heading for you 18-yard box. You know you are loosing out on the race, the simple solution is to foul him. Yellow card and free-lick is the most that will happen. He wasn't the last man, neither was it a direct attempt at goal. I remember Paolo Maldini at USA 94 pulling such a stunt on Yekini. Maldini was the last man in defence and Yekini was about to go past him with pace. Maldini grabbed his arm and wrestled him to the floor. Sadly for us, then the straight red card for a professional foul had not been introduced, so all he got was a yellow; but he averted a one-on-one with Yekini and his goalie. I don't think Keshi is the one that will teach Oboabona that. Onazi also conceded an unnecessary penalty when all that was required was to force the Congolese player away from our goal. He had no business hacking the opposing player from behind like that. I don't believe Keshi is the one that will teach him that.

We need to take another look at our developmental programme. Sadly, we take so much pride in our monkey post, street football academies, thinking skill and physical prowess is all we need to succeed in football. Like Okocha once said, what a 12 year old kid in Europe knows tactically and technically about football, the African player is still struggling to learn at 18 or 19. That's one of the reasons an African team is still struggling to win the World Cup.

As for the NFF palavar? Well, what can I say? A house divided against itself cannot stand. Hopefully we can get our act together against South Africa. let the NFF hold their elections, employ a coach (keshi or whoever they want) and let us face the remaining 5 games with all seriousness.
