So democracy wasn't practised in Turkey before it became an islamic nation?
Have you read the history of Turkey? Do you know the history of the Ottoman Empire? Christianity wasn't pushed out of Turkey in a democracy. Constantine propagated Christianity in Turkey during the Roman Empire. His own sons weakened Christianity with their greed for power. Later the Arabs came and started propagating Islam. They ruled for more than 200 years too. All this happened at a time when crusades and conquest where the order of the day. When what is now know as Turkey was created in 1923 it was a secular state.

Turkeys history is not similar to Nigeria.

Anybody thinking sharia will be practiced in rivers state even if ayatollah khamenei becomes Nigerian president is a child who must believe Santa Claus is real and anybody thinking he can islamise Nigeria is a dunce.

This propaganda has gone past its sell by date. Its proponents should try another one.
Help me tell them o. Even Asari Dokubo will not sit quietly and watch someone from across the Niger force Islam down his people's throat.

I want to see who will forcefully force Islam down the throat of my Igbo brothers. They should be prepared to perish at the foot of the Niger Bridge. Even the Middle Belt and Yorubas will not allow it without a fight.

There is a force in this land that is equal, if not greater than religion. It is called Tribalism. Any plan to Islamize Nigeria will only speed up the nation's tendency to split.

Buhari or any other leader for that matter will succeed more at looting the treasury than they will at islamizing the whole of Nigeria.

Sir, how is someone performing a miracle secretly related to another person debunking lie openly?
Should we just let the lies go unquestioned since it has to do with religion? I see people debunking political lies here everyday with people screaming for joy, why should this be different?
Besides, what is the rationale behind the lie? Don't you think there could be a conspiracy behind this lie? This is Nigeria, where people do things for various reasons.
No matter how sweet a lie is, the bitter truth is still a better option.
While not trying to justify the telling of lies, I would like to ask how Rahab the harlot protected the Israelite spies who Joshua sent to Jericho? She lied to her own people and her family was spared. How did Miriam get Moses mother to nurse him right in the home of Pharaoh? Another lie.

Nobody has asked the man from CAN to lie. The initial report was credited to another Pastor whose name was given. Did he call that Pastor to confirm before calling a press conference? What does he hope to achieve by refuting that report? Yeah, disprove a lie. Okay, how many press conferences has he called in Kaduna, Kano or Maiduguri to refute the claim by Muslims that Jesus is just a prophet and not the Son of God. Or does he not consider that to be a lie as a Minister of God? Oh, he keeps such sermons to the confines of the four walls of his church.

Again, silence is golden.

It's funny how some people here reason. I am not saying CAN is saying the truth, but for someone to say CAN should join in propagating the lies is quite disheartening.
So because certain people are supposedly violent, people should lie to make them be less violent? That's never going to work.
No matter how sweet a lie is, saying the truth is always a better option!
Sometimes silence is truly golden. Why call a press conference. Some of your members made inquiries. Why not answer them in person? Even Jesus performed miracles where he told his inner caucus of disciples not to reveal to everyone what happened. Be quick to listen and slow to speak.

Policies? From 1960 till date we have witnessed the introduction of laudable policies. The problem is always with implementation.

No doubt GEJ like everyone before him can point to one achievement or the other. I personally think the Minister in Agriculture has tried. Thumbs up to the President for that. Sadly there is gross failure and inactivity in many other sectors. Also some badly informed actions and inactions by the President and his inept advisers have painted GEJ in bad light.

Obi1kenobi:
Do you know the ethic make-up of the Catalan or Basque or Sicilian governments or are you simply presuming it's like the Lagos situation? I already asked you before and you keep bleating about it: who is shoving their identity or culture down your throat and how are they going about doing this? Is asking for greater participation in governance akin to asking that you discard your culture and identity? What elements of this culture and identity have you been asked to discard? You keep mentioning irrelevant crap about my people. If a similar topic comes up about Yorubas in the SE, I'd still be making the same points. My purpose was never to vilify any tribe, and I never did so, but to question why any Nigerian cannot fully participate in the politics of his residence. I'm not a juvenile reprobate like you and I have no time for stupid Igbo vs Yoruba e-battles.

We celebrate yams?! shocked Oh, the shame! You must really feel clever with that line, eh? I guess all the food festivals around every corner of the world celebrating everything from artichoke and asparagus and garlic and mushrooms to beer and wine - like the highly popular Tomatina festival in Spain (where they just throw tomatoes)- are all acts of a savage human civilization. Who cares about centuries old traditions where people celebrate the harvest of a significant staple in their culture? I guess if an irrelevant street thug and internet warrior says so, it must be true. As I said before, an utterly uncultured, crude degenerate. You have a lot of growing up to do.
Not interested in getting involved in your tussle with SirShymexx, but my question still remains 'who is stopping any tribe in this country from running for elective office in Lagos?' Okoroji is running for governor and I don't see anyone stopping him. Why go about pleading or threating just to get 'greater participation in governance' when no one is really holding you down. Personally, I have a problem with folks demanding for stuff when they can just go out and earn it. Give women a chance. Give the youths a chance. Pfft. Why not get organised and strategies to get what you want?

Lol, they're slowly but surely taking Peckham back. Peckham should be white again in the next 10-20 years. Brixton is even on a faster pace. I was there last weekend, and the place has changed - with so many white people. Once they finish pulling down all the estates, it should become over 70% white.

White people are migrating back to London like never before, and they're moving black people out. What's the population of black people in the UK? - just 3%. What do black folks own? - absolutely nothing. We're not even a threat to no one, and not entitled to anything apart from the passport, really. Even the identities are different: you're British - and they're English, Welsh, Irish, and Scottish.
Ah interesting to know that they are trying to take London back. Last time I was in that city, I thought I was in a non English speaking country. Then I got to Newark and was like "ah so this is where you white folks are hiding.

this is completely ridiculous. Eyo festival is an indigenous Lagos celebration. yorubas from other states don't even celebrate it.
should lagos now start funding osun festival too? this reeks of entitlement.

to be honest, a lot of those yoruba politicians probably bought their posts with money or influence. there are enough rich igbos in lagos to be able to socialize and buy influence with politicians with their cash too. posts aren't dashed to people in Nigeria.
they don't even understand what politics is all about.
@post aren't dashed to people in Nigeria: This is the very problem I have with this groups demands. If you want political relevance in Lagos, why go about making threats when you can simply strategize and work towards it. How about making APGA more active in Lagos? If the APC or PDP won't give you an Igbo candidate, why not present a candidate on APGA platform? Entitlement mentality like this can be so annoying. If you want something, then work hard at getting it.

Bukola should be the last person accusing anyone of corruption, the Saraki family took corruption to a different level in Kwara.

Sadly, I think Yaya will win it again. Enyeama has been outstanding no doubt, but outfield players tend to have the advantage most times, especially when you score goals like Yaya does. Coaches will be voting and most would choose a midfielder in the mould of Yaya over a goalie.

Would be very glad if Enyeama could edge it though.

Seconded, for over 32 years, Buhari could not create wealth for himself let alone his family. How can he create wealth for NIGERIANS. The Nigerians supporting this Buhari are lazy youths, they are lazy in ideas and intellectually, they equally can't improve themselves, most are illiterates and very gullible. All they want to hear is people being jailed for no reason and they come to social media to rejoice.

Coming to the donations, it's arrant nonsense calling for probe. Is it illegal to donate money for a worthy course? Or is it simply about the hate for GEJ?
If the donations went to APC, would they talk, would their e-urchins come out here to make noise? Please enough of these nonsense from ignoramuses. If you like gove your vote to Buhari, it wouldn't make GEJ lose his sleep on bit. In few weeks from now, you will all shut up and learn how not to talk trash again.
You, young lady, are so misguided. What country creates stupendous wealth like we see in Nigeria for its citizens. Responsible leaders create stability. An environment where people can feed well, have affordable accommodation, jobs that can pay for the kind of lifestyles they choose, opportunities for growth and development. But people like you are looking for criminal wealth.

Did Buhari tell you he his hungry or that he can't cater to the needs of his family? That is what most Nigerians desire. To be comfortable and not live in hardship. But people like you would rather prefer those who promise to turn you into overnight billionaires.

That is Islamisation bro.
In principle Sharia already exists in all 36 states. At least as far as the Nigerian constitution is concerned. It is just not in practice, that is all. The constitution allows for Sharia law for Muslims all over the country irrespective of location.

Don't mind all the males here talkin rubbish, most of them are broke ass dudes that are only in relationships with their pornographic dvds that's why they can't think straight like real men should.
Sorry o oga, are you married? Do you pay house rent, school fees, take care of your parents and in laws? I'm a married man and I think the girl is being cheap by sending her bf a nasty text message just because of N150 t.fare. Don't come here sounding sanctimonious please. Even when I was dating as a student in the university, I would usually pay the bike man to take my chic back to her hostel, but on several occasions she would tell the bike man to hurry off before I could do so. That's a girl who takes pride in her self esteem and is not cheap.

The op's girl thinks it is a right and that's the problem. If she can't pay 150 every now and then to visit her own boyfriend, then she has no business dating. She should just face her Waec instead.

For all those saying Buhari will islamize Nigeria, I have only one question. Can you please explain in clear terms how he would do this?

I'd love to see who will explain to me how any man can islamize my proud Igbo brothers. If those people will not perish at the foot of the Niger bridge. Or who it is that will force Islam on the strong willed Tiv and Idoma people of Benue. Even the Fulani herdsmen that have been messing with the folks in Plateau for years have not succeeded.

Please do explain how Buhari will islamize Nigeria and my militant Niger Delta brothers will just fold their hands and accept without a fight? Even the South West that has Yoruba Muslims are not likely to just accept such forced upon them by a "gambari". Even a Muslim Asari Dokubo will not allow such coming from a Buhari or any other Northern. Not even IBB registering us with OIC has prevented us from practicing our Christianity freely.

What some of you fail to realize is that there is a force in Nigeria that is of almost equal if not greater power than religion. It is called "Ethnicity". Any plan to Islamize Nigeria will only end up in finally breaking the country up,plain and simple. It will be foolhardy for even Shekau to think he can achieve that, not to talk of Buhari. But if you know how he can achieve it, please let us know.
