Why not Emeka Ike?
You've got to look at their personalities outside the movie screen, check out Jim Iyke anyday, anytime, anywhere he's always looking cool, right combination, matching outfits and the clothes fit him ( think he's a model for nothing?). The same cannot be said for Emeka Ike, outside the movie screen his dressing is kind of 'dry'.

hunnie! This is something that gets on my nerve every day!

I just wish i can record my voice and paste it on here right now!

I fxcking hate people[nigerians], that say.. they ain't nigerian because

1. I was born in amaerica, jamaica, london....
2. My dad is nigerian, but my mom is american.. so i choose american
3. The stupidiest one is, i left nigeria when i was 7, now i am 16.. i don't know anything about nigeria, i am a "resident alien".. so i am american. ARGHHHHH.. PUH--LEASE KILL ME!!!!

You know what, talking about this issue makes me want to bite myself. I HATE people like this.

You can tell from all angle that they are nigerian, and they start talking about they ain't nigerian. I walked up to an asshole of a girl, knew she was nigerian.. and she started to cook up the i was born in america sh!T. I was like.. but your parents r nigerian right? She was like yeah.. and we lived there for 8 years. I was like... okay?? U r nigerian... she said, ermm.. NO.

You know what, i ain't mad at people like this when they sumtims do that.. but the most annoying part is when they Say it as if, being a Nigerian is an insult to humanity! They say it as if... OHH HELL NO!, I am so not nigerian.
And when the god forsaken oyinbo man starts to talk bad about africa, they be talking as if we live with lions and sh!t. I mean come on now!!! Come on!! I always get mad like a lion when i am in class and a disccusion like that comes up. I'll defend the whole of africa with my last saliva.. till i make it known to them that! We ain't what they think we are. Although we have comma.

Back to the topic now. I am proud to be nigerian, african or watever. The whole i am an american citizen sh!t don't mean i am not originally from Nigeria. People need to stop that sh!t and be real.

My exact sentiments! No need to bother about people like that cos they won't be of any use to Nigeria anyway, we're over 120 million, we need to reduce the population, anyone that wants to claim yankee, londoner or Italo can go right ahead.
TV/MoviesRe: Americans Don't Watch Nigerian Movies? by dafman(m): 4:25pm On Jan 10, 2006
Methinks there is no need comparing the Nigerian movies with the American movies, No matter how good the Nigerian movie is the Americans would not be into it anyway, cos they focus more on things in their country, as popular as indian movies are not too many americans care about it.

He used to live in Belgium (trying to get off the heroin) and wrote probably his best song over here: Sexual Healing
men! I love that song so much (sexual healing), he put so much soul into that song, sometimes when i listen i feel like the guy was actually getting healing from sex. I also love the version by Michael Bolton, don't ever get tired of listening to the song over and over again.

TV/MoviesRe: 'Hotel Rwanda', reviewed by Nigerians by dafman(m): 2:25pm On Jan 10, 2006
Hotel Rwanda is one movie that really made me HATE our leaders for always bringing out tribal issues whenever they want to achieve their selfish aims, we should all learn from the movie, nobody is going to save us from our troubles. There was a scene in the movie when some africans and Foreigners (Europeans and americans) where in a hotel now the Hutus where on their way to the hotel to slaughter the tutsis in that hotel when the U.N force came to evacuate the foreigners they refused to take the africans with them even though they could. My point is let's stop looking always to the west for solution to our problems we can do better if we contribute to the betterment of our own peoples

Hey, another question for you all.

39. So at dinner, i was talking with my mom about this thread, and she said in a nut-shell that she thought she recalled that Nigeria is going through like a Civil War or something.... and that it is in serious poverty, and that all you who live in Nigeria and have computers must be the rich Nigerians.... is any of that true?
Your mom is wrong there.....Nigeria is not going through a Civil War, and i don't think that analogy of owning computer with rich Nigerians is true, I owned a computer while i was in the university so did several of my friends and classmates who are from middle class homes, even people from poor homes can still afford it, for those that can not afford internet connection there are dozens of cyber cafe's where you can easily browse for as long as u want for a little fee. These days, the poor, middle class, rich all have access to the internet.

CultureRe: Questions About Nigerian Culture And Religion by dafman(m): 1:19pm On Jan 09, 2006
9. Many say that Nigerian Culture is 'rich'. What exactly is it you mean by this? What even, would a normal day look like in Nigeria.

Nigerian culture is rich because there are so may tribes and languages with their own unique identity, like someone said about 250 of them

10. If you could change one thing. Anything, but only one thing, about Nigeria, what would it be?

Stable electricity and Security

11. Do the people generally look the same, or is it a moshpit of differences?

I don't know if you mean like the chinese, if that's the case we don't look the same. But if you're talking about race then yeah we're all black.

12. What are the clothes like? Do you have like, Abercrombie and Fitch, Holister, Hot Topic etc...? Or is the style completely different than in America (or any other contry?)

The best way for you to know about the clothes is to see a Nigerian movie.

13. Child Soldiers. Do you know anything about them? tell me everything.
Nothing! Try watching CNN

14. So do you call the area you live in like a town, village, city, etc...?
I live in a city, Not too many people live in the villages these days

15. What is Diaspora?
When someone says nigerians in diaspora, it means NIGERIANS not in nigeria, e.g Nigerians in Togo, China, U.S, U.K etc

17. You ALL live in Mansions and duplex's? How is this possible? Is Nigeria, as a whole, rich in money?

Not true at all, though a rich minority do. I can say safely that Nigeria is a rich country but the leaders are just too corrupt stashing our money in foreign banks.

19. Who is Wesley Snipes? Is he someone here on Nairaland?

You mean you don't know Wesley Snipes shocked, For christ sake he's a hollywood star and he's an American

21. Are you glad, or reproachful or some other emotion towards the British for coming and teaching you? What is the emotion Nigeria as a whole, would you say, feels towards them?

I sure don't have any problems with the British Colonising Nigeria, cos they brought development to country, the railway built in the early 1900's by the British is still the one we have now, I have a feeling that we would have been like the asian tigers by now if the Bristish were still ruling us, our leaders are just too corrupt.

22. What is wrong with your political system?
Corruption

23. What is the Oba? The Emir? The Eze? Are they politicions? Are they like the kings/presidents of each different part of Nigeria? If so, how do they make desisions for Nigeria?

The Oba is the title given to a ruler in Yorubaland (southwestern Nigeria), the Emir is given to a ruler in Hausaland (Northern Nigerian), the Ibo's have several titles for their rulers, Eze, Obi, Igwe.
Mind you there are also other tribes in Nigeria, like the Urhobos (Midwestern Nigeria) have titles like Orodje, Ovie for their rulers, the itsekiris call their ruler Olu. And many other titles from smaller ethnic groups(remember there are 250 tribes!).

25. People can do magic in Nigeria? Is magic practiced alot, or only by few?
There's so much Voodoo in the land, Nigerians believe so much in magic I guess that's why there are so many churches. Somepeople when they are going through bad times think that their great grandmother or grandmother in the village is after them.

26. You said, "colonial masters" what does this mean, and why must you obey them? (you say that they told you that it was evil, so you no longer do it anymore)

Check the dictionary for the meaning of Colonial

27. How important would you say Mary Slessor is, to Nigerian culture? Like do schools have history lessons on her?

She sure is important especially to the Calabar people in eastern Nigeria, she is in the history books cos i learnt about her in social studies in primary school. There is even a Mary Slessor day in Calabar

28. The other person said that Nigerians live in duplex's and mansions, and you say you live in a 5 bedroom bungalow. Is a 5 bedroom bungalow considered a mansion? Or, are there different 'rich', 'well-off', 'not so well-off', 'poor', 'broke', parts of Nigeria?

In every city in Nigeria there's always the 'rich' areas and the 'broke' areas

29. How does Nigeria work if there are more than one kings that are ruling parts of it?

The same way America works with 50 governors, Lots of Mayors
