RomanceRe: Girls Asking Guys Out by dafman(m): 5:17pm On Dec 31, 2005
I must say things have really changed since the old days cause girls sure don't have qualms giving a guy obvious hints these days, some are more direct...when i was in school a girl with some of her friends eating on an adjacent table in a restaurant on campus passed a note through one of her friend to me on my table, on it was her name and phone no. I thought it was cool...there have been others but suffice to say that I had the utmost respect for them cos they didn't appear cheap nor did the thought cross my mind.

FamilyRe: Nigerian Parents Don't Want You To Go Out When You're Young by dafman(m): 4:03pm On Dec 31, 2005
You have a point there 'bout Naija parents not wanting their kids to go out but you must agree with me that you can't just want a boy just to talk to or do some other 'friends' stuff when their are millions of girls out there. 99% of the time sex is involved

RomanceRe: Men: Simple Approachable Lady or a Hard-to-Get? by dafman(m): 3:28pm On Dec 31, 2005
I would definitely prefer a simple approachable lady, I've learnt not to waste time on so called "Hard to get" ladies...I mean it's man hours that could be put to more useful use. Now you must agree with me that if a girl wants you even though she doesn't say yes immediately there would be telltale signs, hints and all that would keep you trying...that makes sense....otherwise I would take it that she's "Never to get". Afterall it's not like this is them old days that 90% of girls were virgins so why the stress
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Nigeria Coming up March 2006 by dafman(m): 5:35pm On Dec 14, 2005
The show does not have anything to do with the Nigerian government, it is being sponsored by Mnet....I don't really think there is any big deal about the show...worse things happen in real life
Music/RadioRe: Who is Amplifyd? by dafman(m): 6:55pm On Nov 17, 2005

cool to hear from you dafman.

I take it you are located in Nigeria? I do not know where to get comics in Nigeria but in the UK there are shops all over the place.

Do they actually still allow comics to be imported into Nigeria?
yeah i'm in Nigeria. I love marvel and dc comics too, i used to get them in a bookstore but their titles are limited infact you might see the same comic book for months. I'm sure imports are still allowed just that not many people import them. any idea how i can get some?

RomanceRe: Men Don't Fall in Love by dafman(m): 4:43pm On Jun 02, 2005
seun:
What does it mean to 'love for love' and how is it different from loving for money, looks, good behaviour, and so on?

You ladies are of the opinion that men fall into beauty. As far as I know, most men don't fall into beauty; they just want to "get laid with the hot girl" and that is all there is to it.
There is a clear difference between 'loving for love' and for 'other reasons' the good book says by their action you shall know them, if I start naming all there would be no space for anyother comment. in one thread a member said a guy is forcing his girl to cook like jacky. Surely, that's not true love. I'm sure he has gotten what he wants and he's now showing his true colour.
RomanceRe: Why is Love so Painful at Times? by dafman(m): 4:39pm On Jun 02, 2005
One thing you guys should understand is there's no formula for this love thing, a guy can be hurt just as easily as the girl, i've seen broken hearted guys and it's not a pleasant sight. You might say there are more girls that get broken hearts because guys go for girls so he knows when he just wants to playaround. A girl just has to be smart but not too smart o!

tayotina:
She has actually made it known to him on several occasions that she was fed up with the cooking. Even there are times that she refuses to cook for him, and sure, they normally quarrel over it.
you know what I think.....the love is sure not there cos i don't see any reason why I would want to put my girl in a difficult postion. He's hurting her by making her cook serially like she's some robot maid.
RomanceRe: Why are Women Not Crazy About Tall Men? by dafman(m): 4:24pm On Jun 02, 2005
ladies are crazy about tall guys for the same reasons guys are crazy about well endowed girls.
RomanceRe: Men Don't Fall in Love by dafman(m): 4:20pm On Jun 02, 2005
Of, course men do fall in love. The problem is, most equate beauty with love so when they enter such relationships and they've gotten what they wanted you tend to look outside. But a man that really loves for love would hardly do anything to hurt his partner.
FoodRe: My Boyfriend Has Turned Me To A Cook: Could This Be Love? by dafman(m): 4:11pm On Jun 02, 2005
It really depends on the state of the relationship between your friend and her boyfriend cos from what i've observed most 'homely' girls like to do the cooking when cohabiting, now i ain't saying it's a ritual. Her boyfriend is probably taking advantage of the situation. BTW you didn't mention if the guy is making it obligatory, has she told him doesn't feel like cooking?

Nairaland GeneralRe: Editing Posts by dafman(m): 3:23pm On Jun 02, 2005
I don't really see anything wrong with editing as long as it has got to do with inappropriate language or explicit words, but grammar shouldn't really be edited as long as the meaning is clear, it kind of brings out the personality of the different members. Like some people like to add some bit of pidgin english to their posts (or use pidgin through out) or add some other native language. So abeg if u wan edit make u edit small small o

I just found about this site and I think it's really cool for Nigerians, but I think it's a little bit early to be talking about payment, though I don't know how long this site has existed but I'm sure it's not up to 6 months.

When there are enough members I'm sure there would be enough sponsors to keep it free.
