as usual, religious discussions are bringing out the worst in us all. The christian religion is founded upon the crucifixion. Any christian who even dares to assume that this is not true is commiting blasphemy and damning his eternal soul to Hell. People like @nferyn should please not annoy these people by attempting to have a discussion on such a matter. A true christian will simply become more and more irate as you continue, because he views you as a blasphemer, and resents you for attempting to drive him to blasphemy. Please discontinue this. If you are here and a christian, please do not throw insults at those who are trying to discuss among themselves, and do not simply sit around and proclaim 'it is a lie because it is a lie', because that only makes sense from *your own* point of view, as a true christian. It is ok to say ' i believe it is a lie and nothing can change that' because that is you affirming your faith. I beg of the Atheists to refrain from mocking or questioning the intelligence of people who say this. Religion is the most important thing in existence for those that practice it, and it must be respected. On topic: Whether Jesus married or faked his death is immaterial to me- what matters is not how the man lived his life but the effect his life has had on the world. So I do not care. If he faked his death, it was done so masterfully well that an entire civilisation has grown around that idea, and we would be fools to attempt to discredit the idea that he died on the cross for our sins. I would rather live in a world where Jesus is thought to have died on the cross, than one in which the entirety of Christianity is proven to be a gigantic lie, and human beings worldwide turn into rampaging godless savages. finally, @dru- Dan Brown is NOT a white supremacist. He is infact, de-aryanising Jesus by establishing an existing jewish bloodline for him, and debunking the blonmd and blue eyed Jesus that is portrayed today. I enjoy reading your posts, but it appears you have your facts mixed up this time. |
@zpixel. Your school - exactly. I was talking about people who actually have the resources to make it happen. There are enthusiasts everywhere- heck I am surrounded by them- but what I mean is people who are already in the industry, with the clout and resources to make it something more than an ugly indie-ish effort. like those horrendously hideous 'animated' music videos. |
zpixel, are you absolutely sure about this. I mean- can you name names. |
@mamaput <disclaimer>normally I am very receptive of your comments, and I find your jokes funny, and your honesty refreshing. Like many opthers on this forum, I also enjoy benefiting from your experience, especially as you have a lot more than most of us. So rest assured that when I say I apologise in advance for the disrespectful tone of the following message, I am sincere. However I shall not censor it in any way because it accurately expresses my feelings. <End disclaimer> We are not talking of forcing them into a professionYes you are. If a child that has not the brains to handle Biology decides to be a doctor, buying their way into it is forcing them into a profession that is rejecting them by its very nature. As a parent it is your duty to guide them in a direction that is beneficial to them even if they do not know it. Cheating is called cheating for a reason and no amount of whitewashing can change that. but the way you ague i wounder that you are so called educated. The talk of spitting on graves was not directed at anybody in particular, and was not meant as an insult- it is simply what will happen when you ruin your child's life by sending them down the path to mediocrity. And people wonder why their children hate them. Well they will also (coming down to your language) spit on your grave if they end up as traders or mamaput.Any child that curses his/her parents because they feel they would be better off if they had assisted in helping them cheat is a worthless lump of flesh and bone that I would disown before it came to that- and if I had not done such, then I deserve to be spat upon for unleashing such a human pile of excrement upon the world. Sorry people, but passion comes into play when discussing issues such as cheating in exams. Our country is fast becoming the garbage dump of humanity because of issues such as this. |
Hopeless. I am sorry for all the people that said they would buy the papers. Your children will curse you and bury you with urine and spit, when they find themselves trapped in professions they are il-suited for and forced to defend their qualifications repeatedly in a terrifying, insecure existence. |
AS+ AC is just as bad as AS+AS. AS+AS is the devil's work and must never happen, EVER no matter what your pastor says. dont do it or you are a murderous creature who does not deserve to be called human. |

@gamine, would you illustrate a script for me? your style is something I have been looking for for a long time. Just something to do in your spare time, if you have the time. Thanks |
spicy007:I imagine that at the moment, mario has more goodwill and makes more money than MJ ! Comparing him to the has-been breakdance whacko lunatic nutcase is more an insult to mario, then! lotr is indeed hollywood hall of fame material, but so is HP. Its writer is the richest common woman in the UK. Its breadth of exposure in such a short time from conception is amazing. I guess the best way to sum it up is that they are all not on the same topic. Lotr is fantasy/mythology, HP is magic/mysticism. Some elements may overlap but its fundamentally different. To make it clearer, how about comparing star wars? SW is by far bigger and more influential in hollywood than both, but it comes from such a different angle (space opera/science fantasy) that most lotr and hp fans will go "huh? I don't get it" when they watch it! |
No need to hope anymore, dearie, it has survived already and they are in happy retirement enjoying the fruits of their labour! |
dude. If you want to excuse yourself from a conversation, it doesn't hurt to be polite. But then people are hardly polite when religion is involved. ![]() |
*shrug* well, different points of view. Just like you my position is influenced by what I learnt from my parents, and my extended family. My dad never got another wife, never had any problems, simply because he is a very serious guy, and my mum is similarly serious. If my dad starts to joke around about such things my mum just shakes her head and says 'o serious' to him ("you are not serious" in Yoruba) before going back to whatever she was talking about before. They have been succesful because of this, leading to much envy. My extended family by contrast is rife with scandal and debauchery. I'lll end it there- no need to wash dirty linen in public- but guess where we have more 'my wife is my darling' nonsense, kissing in public, and other such irresponsible goings-on. I learned to respect women (in fact, a little too much) by the image of strength and focus my mother projected in the household, even long after the 'my mummy is the world' phase ended. The fickleness and emptyheadedness of the majority of females I was to encounter later in life amazed me to no end, it no longer does, anyway. and ps: if you change 'mess' to fxxk , seun's program wont change it. It chaged it cs i was too stupid to remember not to spell it f-u-c-k |
Love, definitely. Not the silly romantic love of premarital relationships, nor the lusty love of steamy affairs. Something closer to the healthy bond between natural partners. A fondness that binds on a level much deeper than animalistic thrashing around. The kind of love that keeps a paraplegic impotent husband together with his wife. Sex, a means to an end. A method for creation of children and the relieving of stress and tension- not THE PILLAR OF MARRIAGE as so many seem to believe. You cannot remain devoted to someone whose primary attractionj to you is sexual- it is impossible. She *will lose that appeal* and the human body, in particular that of males, craves a variety that cannot be satisfied by some chick reading kinky books and watching dirty videos. Obviously I view marriage as a serious thing that is not meant to be trivialised into some ridiculous extension of premarital romance. Romance is an exciting, mysterious thing we young people do to discover new potential mates. When the smoke clears and you see the woman for who she really is- now *that* is preparing for something that will last. Trying to artificially extend something that is naturally short lived by repeating 'ai lofu yuu' ad nauseam into a mobile phone like some sort of retard just makes you look desperate and without focus. PS coco can u help me edit my quote in your post? nairaland changed the word 'fx*k' to 'mess'! |
Kai. see us o Naija. the land of failed marriages, irresponsible parents and wayward offspring. I hope you people know that a relationship fuelled by romance will lead to POLYGAMY yes, all u women talking about visiting dirty stores and having kinky sex with ya husband, understand that you are fuelling his desire for something that you willl BIOLOGICALLY be unable to provide for him in a short while. Then he will just marry a nice fresh young and FORCE you to do what you should have been doing from the start, concentrating on your kids and old age. Anyway ignore my words- iots your loss. No be naija we dey. polygamy is legal. just don't come crying to me when miss Darego shows up to put sansan in your garrium and make all your 'romantic' advances look childish and stupid. oh, and coco, I *don't* need a f*xk. Not now, anyway, and I don't 'need' one for long. You should say I get too much of it if I can look at it so cynically. In fact it is a bad habit I will have to drop before commiting to a partner! At least I recognise there's a problem, |

Unfortunately, there isn't really a way to determine what midp it is, if you are pirating it (which I assume you are) if you are buying the game, then it should be plainly stated on the site which MIDP the game is targeted at. but we are all bloody pirates anyway so just fire on with trial and error. Try it , if it works enjoy! if it doesnt, cast it in a bin and move to the next one. Life is short, gotta enjoy what u can when u can, |
All that cuddlycuddly stuff will eventually make your man wake up one day (in a cold sweat) and ask himself 'what the hell am I doing here?!!' I cant imagine listening to 'I love you' everyday from someone who's supposed to be my life partner. Oh, its fine right now when we're young and fresh (and free) and makes us feel happy that we are remembered and favoured, but after marriage it is just a mindless ritual- a refusal to grow up out of the courtship stage. wake up people. trying to fool yourselves that courtship continues after marriage is the biggest trap of the modern age. African woman: Drop two engine see whether or not you go resemble basketball unless you starve yourself to the point where you are so weak and fragile as to be completely useless. If we didn't love each other we wouldn't be married so why all the unnecesary rubbish? If my wife keeps asking me to tell her I love her every day I will wonder who has been feeding poison into her ears behind my back. Like saying 'the sky is blue' ad nauseam. puhlease. Marriage is far more serious than having some broad or stud to bang every night. It is the foundation upon which you will build your old age especially in Naija where old people are left to rot and die. If you don't construct a powerful fortress of a family including responsible children, sizeable property and a sound legacy you will suffer and die a miserable lonely death. As soon as you get married you should be prepared to work hard to secure your old age. spontaneous sex? what rubbish. As if your husband will continue to be turned on by your motherly bodily particles. It is dangerous for a man to refuse to supress his sex drive after marriage because his wife will not and can never satisfy it. Forget all the silly romance and leave it for the kids. Once you marry devote yourself to defending and protecting your partner and offspring by any means neccesary. As long as that is your focus, you will not stray. Not any fake-ass candlelit dinners. For gods sakes we invented lightbulbs for a reason. If you burn down the whole of surulere because u thought 10th century technology was neccesary for 'romance' you will be the one to blame for your misfortune |
@lunafish A guy who knows how to make a girl happy will probably go along with what you suggest but I swear to God who made me no human male alive will enjoy the activities you mention, it is a sacrifice along the lines of you dressing up in a wet arsenal T-shirt and going to play mascot bunny girl at a drunken soccer night out with his homies (not that anyone would be mad enough to suggest this to his girl) When guys do such things they are sacrifices. Personally I believe that such romantic jigbijigbi should be the sole domain of premarital courtship. Once you marry, get down to the serious business of building a family and securing your future. You should both be so busy you don't have time for such puerile nonsense. The woman I marry will have to complement me on a conscious, practical level. We should be like a team that is indomitable together and useless seperated. That in itself is stronger at holding together a relationship than any senseless 'romance'. A strong woman that is able to act as a partner and not a whimpering, whiny liability. Able to act autonomously and seamlessly assume or relinquish responsibilities as the situation demands. Able to communicate and plan effectively, whose weaknesses I can make up for, whose mind I understand instantly. We should be more friends than lovers after marriage, because we all know what lasts longer. I assure you, a focused man/woman team is not only unstoppable, both partners have no time to fool around. Why go wax my drumstick and risk the loss of something that is not easy to build. Sex is overrated- nowadays people act as if it is the be-and end-all of life- what rubbish. There are people that go through life without ever having sex- its not like you'll die of starvation. Its called responsibility people. Its like how we no longer play with barbie dolls and transformers. When you get married you should either outgrow all this romance nonsense or spend an eternity lining the pockets of marriage counsellors and PEOPLE newsrags while raising a household of useless spoilt monsters that will utterly destroy you in your old age. |
.sis stands for 'symbian installation system' its a method for packaging games *for download* an NGAGE game is never meant to be downloaded. its supplied on a card. as such, the game doesnt have an extension- it is a collection of files representing programs and data. In fact, sis and jar files contain similar structures, but, as I earlier noted, archived into a singular file. You will find that most software for symbian phones, even non-nokia phones like the p800, are stored in .sis files. |
Actually you are right, but have a few facts mixed up (just a little) Ngage card games are *not* .sis files. sis games are symbian games which will work with any series 60 phone (3650, 6600,7610, etc) There are *many* free sis games, and they are by far more advanced than most java games, because they are native to the phones and java is not. Ngage card games are a whole different ballgame. If, like me, you are a shameless bloody pirate you will get them as folders with programs and data that yopu put ontoo a normal MMC card. I have 4 games on my ngage mmc at this moment this way. If you buy them legit, they come as those *same* folders on a special mmc that can't be copied (unless you are an ubercracker) from the above you can see that there is no marketing reason to exclude midp 2.0 from the ngage, considering that the ngage is already capable of playing even better free games. The reason midp2.0 is not included is simply because the ngage is a duplicate of the 3650. I own both phones and have written programs for them. The ngage suffers many setbacks because of this idiotic decision by nokia, but I can't blame them because the (even worse) 6600 shows what happens when you try to shoehorn an advanced phone OS onto inferior hardware. Also, the ngage had to be cheap. Instead of subsidizing, nokia went the daft route and used outdated hardware. their loss, |
I pay particular attention to the word 'pretend' Anything founded upon lies is destined to collapse sooner rather than later. If a relationship cannot survive 'conversion' then it deserves to end. conversion is when the 'be my girl/boyfriend' stage ends and the 'ok, so were together now' phase begins. You shouldnt TRY to preserve it. If it doesnt survive the death of the 'flame' (which was just a load of raging hormones by the way) then the relationship deserves to die NOW before u go marry yasefs and born pikin and condemn yasefs to a life of misery. |
Hmmm, drogba. I dont think thats the case. there's no 100k limit on Ngage games. I know this because I have owned an ngage for a year and a half now and still play craploads of games on it. The problem the ngage has is that it supports only midp1.0. Any midp2.0 java game will NOT work, and yes, many of them are above 100k. the only reason for this is that lazy nokia recycled the 3650 version of java for the ngage. They probably did this because, as seen on the 6600, symbian ver2 is slow on 1st gen series 60 hardware, and the last thing u need on a gamephone is slow speed. solution: only play midp1.0 games. if u want to play the others, buy a more recent phone. |
let me give you a hint. if you are a skilled programmer and want to make some money, begin paying attention to new directives from regulatory bodies to Banks, oil companies and telecoms companies. those directives usually translate into a program which is usually developed in-house. Produce something better than what in-house coders can do and sell it. They WILL buy it and, you will become rich. I have seen this happen many times. As for how you achieve this? Well, that is what will determine whether you succeed or fail, |
actually, PJ *expanded* the roles of women in that story originally the women had such minor roles in the story that they could easily have been omitted. PJ added in the entire romance thing, and the rescue, and so many other large roles for the females in the story. He did more *for* than against women. And the films benefitted from that! asi said before, pj is a genuis! ![]() |
didn't like cobol because of aaaaaaall the (needless) typing, and also because the language couldnt be used for much else other than business report generation (which is dry as dust) Enjoyed fortran because it is closer to what got me interested in programming in the first place! as a matter of fact I enjoy all imperative languages, haven't encountered one I don't enjoy yet! |
Nah, I wasnt referring to you when I made that comment, no offense dude! Sometimes I couldnt imagine that I was being percieved the way I was (It looked like I was claiming legacy languages are useless) when in fact I am usually the guy that comes up with all sorts of reasons why we shouldnt just jump to the latest and greatest language just because it's new! I greatly enjoyed my fortran classes, and indeed fortran played a large part in my final-year project at school (Numerical analysis), although I do hate cobol, lololololol!!!! but thats personal! I have however been made to understand that portability is an issue with these old languages, and this was what I was trying to bring up. Unfortunately it looked as if I was condemning old languages and calling them obsolete, or attacking people that use them. Rest assured that I never did! In fact I was the first to give an actual example of someone who makes a truckload of cash on legacy languages alone! Another of my bosses left to work in Austrailia 2 years back- he got the job because the companmy had trouble finding local talent with the legacy skills he posesses. His salary there is insane! Plus they handled his visa, housing, etc. I hope my position is clearer now. |
Actually, @ishmael, the purpose of this discussion is not to prove who knows programming 'pass' anyone else. That's for children and students. Once we graduate, we realise that everyone has their strong points, and even the world's most respected programmers can be wrong. When we discuss in this way, it benefits us all because we get to see other points of view and if they expose flaws in our OWN point of view, it is to our benefit. If however we do not agree, then we argue the point in order to get the other guy to convince (and therefore help) us. Also in a public forum, there are others that will tune in just to listen in and probably learn. For the sake of such people it is necessary to argue a point to completion- this was made known to me by nferyn and KAG, two really sharp guys who are known to thrash out issues. Simply giving up and going away, or doggedly sticking to one point of view without considering what others say, are detrimental habits. The reason why I have been repeating myself is that due to the responses I recieve it is obvious people have not been reading my posts. or have been misunderstanding my point of view. Hence the need to clarify myself. Its not a matter of winning or whatever. There are coders on this forum that I have learned to pay attention to on certain issues. There's no master of all knowledge. Also, I resent it when people attempt to make me look stupid. That may be a weakness on my part, but for me its the same in real life- if you hit me, I hit back. shikena. |
