God remains an idea. Nature is real and you are a part of it. God is real and the only evidence you have for it and the words you speak? If God is real then how can it be tested and verified objectively? Why do you keep making bald and empty assertions? God is not real. You only believe that the God idea is real because you were indoctrinated into believing one out of the many God ideas.

The problem is the starting point of the believer is that his/her religious books (Bible, Koran, Verders, Book of Mormon, etc) is the word of God. Those books to them aren't read or supposed to be read with a critical eye, but to the believer those books are supposed to be read with devotion, reverence and awe. To them reading these books are acts of worship. Any questions raised about these books are not welcomed. What believers are supposed to do is to keep hailing these books no matter what is written inside them. That is why believers are so angry and scornful of doubt. Because doubt is essential to any true critical thinking and believers do not want to subject their faith to such at all. They are emotionally attached to their beliefs and will always want it to be true regardless of anything. No believer wants to even accept their their religious book which they have been indoctrinated with is not the word of the creator of the universe but the words of fallible men. That is why believers are angry and want people to respect their religious books no matter what. The thing is they are hypocrites because they do not accord the same respect to the religious books of others they were not indoctrinated with. A good example is the christian and muslim endless madness.

Belief doesn't make something real. Because people believe in things doesn't make them real or factual. These holy books have been used to support and perpetrate all forms of evil in the world, but that aside. Religious beliefs should not be respected on their own by default, religious beliefs have to merit the respect they are accorded.

The bible has it's own share of hate and dislike for unbelievers.

It's unfortunate, I really used to have the same thoughts about atheist when I was a christian. The first day I meet an atheist I was shocked and scared. I could not just understand what he was saying. How can any body say that there is no God I thought. That was 5 years ago, now am an atheist my self and so loving it. All religions teaches its adherents to hate the unbelievers and have more hate to those that reject the God postulation entirely.

Same with the bible. With the bible it's worse because there are more schism and sects in christianity as a result of picking and choosing what suits you most while ignoring the rest. What hypocrisy? You believe it is right for people to marry 9 year old girls but some how have the guts to talk about hypocrisy. You believe that it is right for a 9 year old girl to be married off because some primitive Bedouin Arab man who lived 1400 years ago in a period when men lived no differently from barbarians did so, at that time rationality was not the basis for morality. Morality was based on what people in power felt was good to them. That is why Islam allows you to marry 4 women for example but does not allow women to marry 4 men.
