The Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria has reiterated that Catholic Priests under the canon law of the Church are barred from active involvement in Partisan Politics.

This reaction is coming shortly after an altercation between controversial catholic Priest, Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka, Spiritual director of Adoration Ministries, Enugu and Ex-governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi.

CSN’s Secretary General, Rev. Fr. Ralph Madu, who spoke to journalists at a press conference, in Abuja on Thursday said that the Catholic church was disappointed with the altercation and had asked appropriate authorities to take necessary action.

“While we are sure that Enugu Catholic Diocese, where Fr. Mbaka is incardinated, has or is taking appropriate measures on the reported incident, we wish to categorically reiterate that no Catholic priest is permitted to be involved in partisan politics.

All liturgical ceremonies must never be used as an occasion for campaigns ahead of 2019 political activities. Catholic church remains apolitical and would never support or subscribe to any political party.

Our concern is for peaceful election process, seen to be free, fair, credible and just, and a democratic governance that would herald peace, justice, equity, development and religious freedom for the common good.”

Mbaka has faced criticisms online over his 'embarrassment' of Obi during the church's recent Bazaar.

Nigerian interior decorator, Ehi Ogbehor who called out her billionaire husband Ken Bramor few months ago for allegedly being occultic after which she apologized, is back again with another call out post.

Sharing a photo of her child on drips at the hospital, Ehi Ogbehor who disclosed that she doesn't care in Ken Bramor marries 100 women, stated that he should be held responsible if anything happens to her or her child.

A young man was severely dealt with after he was caught stealing female panties and other clothing items in Imo state.

 It was gathered that the man came all the way from another community, Obowo to Umuokoro Umuihi village in Ihitte/Uboma Local Government Area of Imo State to steal the panties before he was caught red handed. 

The angry villagers gave him a beating of his life after he couldn't give a reasonable explanation as to what he does or will do with the said items. 

He was later handed to the vigilante members in the community.

Nollywood actress, Gloria Akhigbe, who was declared wanted by the police after her comedy skit went viral, has expressed her surprise. 

The viral skit shows the well-dressed actress removing a bouquet of flower, table water and drinks from the table where she was seated and putting them in her bag. Reacting to the video, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Abayomi Shogunle, declared the actress wanted and offered to pay anyone who could find her an unspecified amount of money as reward.

He wrote on Twitter; 

 “Wanted person, Please help me find this Yoruba woman. If your tip leads to her apprehension, I have a cash reward for you.”

Speaking to Saturday Beats, Gloria Akhigbe said; 

“I was the one that uploaded the video on my Instagram page. It happened at a burial ceremony that held on the last Saturday of October 2018. I was having a discussion with my friends on how beautifully dressed ladies steal at parties, so I decided to do a skit about the trend.

“Surprisingly, when I woke up the next morning, I received a phone call from a friend who told me that there was a video of me stealing at a party and it had gone viral. My friend sent me the video immediately and I began to laugh when I viewed it because it was obviously a skit.

“In fact, the people that were at the table with me were aware of what was going on. The person that recorded the video was even laughing, so it is not sensible to tag me a thief. I never knew I was such a good actress until the video went viral. People prefer bad news to good news. They have chastised me because of the video and insulted my family.”

Gloria Akhigbe further disclosed that is still shocked that she was declared wanted by the police because of the skit.

“I was surprised when the police officer declared me wanted; I see it as defamation of character. There was no proper investigation or questioning before declaring me wanted.

“I had to address the policeman’s statement for declaring me wanted; I am still waiting for the policeman to come to me. This is the first time something like this is happening to me. I have funny skits that I do regularly.

“Initially, I was not embarrassed because some people who knew me as an actress understood it was just a skit. However, when I saw the negative comments and curses on the Internet, I felt bad,” she said.

Below is Queen Agayol Ahemen, Tiv by tribe.She is a middle aged girl of 18 years from Ahangev Tiev in Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State.

She had a little quarrel with her neighbour, unexpectedly during the misunderstanding the boy used a pestle to hit her badly on her head.This is the second week and she is lucky to have survived but she has been in coma since then. She is currently admitted at Atuna Hospital in Gboko, Benue State.
